I can certainly see where you’re coming from. There’s been a definate change in Daily philosophy from “Give players an extra reward for playing as they already do” to “Give the players incentive to do stuff they wouldn’t normally do”.

Strangely, before both changes, it was already said that ANet was trying to force players into playing against as they normally do, and grinding, and so on and so forth until the forum servers come down in the darkness of the end of the world . . .

The expectations Anet as for the entire guild to stop what ever they are doing and take part in a massive “search party” to me is not set in reality. Their is some fantasy world they live in int he studio where all 300+ employees participate in testing a system out and think that because they could do it with every one on board to do the exact same task that the players will as well.

No, I think their expectation is that the guild will go “Hey we’re doing a bounty in an hour, everyone ready then?” And not just pop the bounty mission on without warning.

Helping guilds with missions has no reward?

MY experience

1. Represented guild and bought influence until we could do the Guild missions
2. Guested on that Guilds server (My home is JQ, and I guested to this guild’s server which is not JQ)
3. Participated in Event
4. Only got credit for a Dynamic Event (relating to the guild mission)

Is this working correctly? Do I need to rep the guild & have the same home server?
or
Is this a bug that got fixed and I just missed out since I was an early adopter?

Umm, guesting may not work correctly due to how guilds get different upgrade records per server. I recall reading that once.

I agree. But that is what completionists do. Some people dont leave a single player game until they get all the achievements, some people do not care.

I grew out of that after I started playing Team Fortress 2: The Hattening: Hats For All . . .

Yeah, locking the rest of the achievements are probably a good move, though it does prevent people from doing them for the XP boost. (I know I did, on my silly baby alts I wanted to level.)

No… I’m having horror guild flashbacks! Did I say they weren’t evil? Beginning to rethink that… They’re evil because they give a podium to people I cannot avoid & do not want to hear. There’s that.

Any guild has that, if there’s no ground rules on what’s allowable in guild chat. In a large guild I was in back on EverQuest there was one rule specifically for the guild chat:

“You are not allowed to use guild chat to discuss: anything illegal in more than one state, anything medical-related, anything you did last night while drunk/high (see also point 1), and what funny cat picture you found this last ten minutes. If you persist after one warning from an officer, you will be kicked for one week and invited back. If you keep it up, we will not invite you back again.”

How can player not in guild participate in guild missions? I seen today one champ with bounty icon on it, but he is friendly…

They’re marked as “allies” until the guild activates them, to prevent other people from pouncing them and preventing the guild from finishing. Which, let’s be fair, would happen relentlessly with much “lulz” if it wasn’t this way.

I strongly suggest they just make a big list of 20-30 options and let people choose from that. And if they really want to add something extra then make a daily-hard achievement with all the weird stuff in it. But stop telling us how to play and have fun.

At which point every completionist around the world who tries to complete all available options would die a little inside. The new dailies already bounced the “required” set to 9 tasks. I could complete entire old daily in 15 minutes if I was lucky and “speed running” it. Now? Cant be done in less than an ~hour.

Please, please, please don’t take offense. This is not a fault with the new system. This is a fault in how you approach the listing.

(And yes, I do the same thing, “so how many of these boxes can I tick off before it resets?”)

Let me repeat a point I made a few pages back in this thread:
What it comes down to is that the large guilds we have now (or that will spring into existence as a result of mergers during the next week or two) will be all the large guilds with guild mission access there will ever be.

Mm, no. No, you’ll see turnover and large guilds dismantle and break up as egos clash and people get sick of leaders, and in general “why can’t I do my own thing” . . . no, you’ll get guild turnovers, just not at the same rate.

Wow, nice. If this mindset was over at ArenaNet, we’d have a lot less “growing concerned” threads. Why are solutions like this so unattainable by developers?

Because there is the very real possibility they don’t see it as wrong? Or that they have a misguided (not malevolent) view of it from being too close to it? Maybe because the last two solutions are rarely ever going to work with the players we have posting on the forums and elsewhere?

I’m fairly certain this mindset does exist over there. I’m also fairly certain they don’t entirely agree with the same perceptions or conclusions that is reached through topics like these. Doesn’t make them wrong or right, they may just not agree. Or there are other things in construction which shaped why things are done this way?

I do think this post deserves to be seen and read, it’s well-constructed and fairly reasonable. If any post should get an official response in this entire thread it is this one.

I disagree with you there, and I don’t know how you can claim that when Guild Wars 2 did, for the majority of its relatively brief existence. These changes to the Daily only started happening.. what, in the past two months?

Which, you know, started because people were complaining about the original format being “too grindy” and not varied enough compared to the idea that the Monthly rotated.

So the rotating 5 Daily requirements was brought out and people complained they wanted to choose.

And now you can, with some options which actually wound up easier to do than before . . . and people are calling it still more grindy.

I don’t get it.

As for the concept? Far as I can tell and intuit, they’re intended for three purposes. In descending importance

- First, and foremost, to give people an incentive to play daily and keep the population alive. So that we don’t have ghost towns between content updates because “there’s nothing to do”. Especially important for all the events which require more than a handful of people to finish, on average. (Yes, some of these can be done solo, or with two or three people, but on average . . . say, Melandru is going to take probably 5+.)

- Secondly, they’re intended to get people to move into a variety of activities of their choice. To encourage them to go to other places than the four or five places you can knock out the older Daily lists in an hour. To encourage them to move into older areas to populate them a bit more so players aren’t . . . well, alone there.

- Lastly, the variety is also intended to get people curious about aspects they don’t normally do. Jumping puzzles, WvW, group events, personal story . . . it’s encouragement to “you know, just poke at it casually, you don’t need to devote too much time here…”

Two points:
1) complaints about this guild mission being the AoW tree
Would you have felt better if they had added a whole new tree for GMs, called it Guild Mission Tree, and made the first level, which unlocks bounties, cost 500k influence? Your problem is with the cost, not that it’s in the AoW tree. And related to this…

That’d be great because then the guilds wouldn’t have to do Art of War for things they may not ever use. Some of these small guilds just don’t do WvW with enough interest to warrant all those boosts, so putting it off onto its own tree would have been perhaps softer.

Yes, the cost is an issue, but also the time to research it and scrape together the cost (and that includes Gold also for those who want to take that shortcut).

2) smaller guilds can’t access guild missions because of the cost
If your guild is so small that you can’t earn this much influence your guild is (likely) too small to do any of these missions. Sorry. It’s like complaining about how all dungeons have been designed for 5 players and your 2 person guild can’t do any of it.

There’s a difference here. A 2 person guild can’t do a dungeon but they can pick up 3 more people to do it and still do the content. Here, there is a very real potential they won’t be able to do that for all the content.

Hence, again, they feel like there’s nothing for them.

Why do people feel that since they are in a big guild they deserve access before everyone else and try silence people for wanting instant gratification.
Every one paid the same price to buy the game….and Anet said people weren’t going to have to put in a ton of work to do the fun stuff.

. . . but it’s . . .

I know other people repeat this too, maybe they could chime in.

But it’s not about instant gratification, it’s about feeling like they can do it at all.

Just one note on this, and I’ll not talk about it again. There’s a significant issue with this here:

(4) Engage the community in a constructive, serious manner to seek input and solutions. Do not discount the community’s ideas because they are different from notions during development of “how things should pan out.” These are irrelevant. The customer experience is.

You’re going to run into three specific objections no matter how many people get invited to discuss it:

- But they cut for time and I didn’t get to talk. They must only have wanted certain people they planted in the crowd to speak.
- But my opinion wasn’t given any weight. They clearly already had their mind made up from the start, so it was a pointless PR stunt
- Not enough people were included, so it’s not really representative of the whole player community.

If it just gave some more cash and karma doing all 9, that’d be fine.

I wouldn’t want it to give a laurel though, because then it would make me feel like I need to complete it all.

And even if you gave Coin and Karma, people would still feel they were being coerced into doing it because a tangible reward was being offered. That’s really the point for the change from the previous two systems to begin with; people wanted variety, then they wanted choice.

Why not just allow smaller guilds to “guest” with a larger one so they can earn Commedations? Seems like a simple solution.

What kills me are all the "I want it NOW’ posts here. I’m in a large guild and we picked what we wanted to unlock first knowing full well that these new things are going to take time. The instant-gratification generation is really showing their stuff if this thread.

It’s not quite the instant-gratification which is the problem here. It’s not that (some) of them want it “now”, it’s that they think they won’t ever get it. Or that it’s unfair someone else got there first by virtue of having disposable currency piled up.

I’m going to guess it’s not a test. I mean, how would we know ? They also said they were making changes to Orr to make it more “interesting”. Whether this is a tinfoil plot to direct players out of Orr or they really thought the changes would make Orr more “interesting”, the upshot is the same. It’s bad news for players.

It’s bad news for the exact wrong reasons, unfortunately. I can almost see how the decision went down – they wanted to play around with the composition of those events since they were largely the same as the Kessex Hills bridge event; semi-afk with autoattacks on in a big mass and get credit for the events. Since smacking people with bans who were doing that didn’t work so well . . .

Why not push the events to where they need to pay attention?

Only the result is going to be these players seeing it’s no longer so easy and then move to . . . oh, I dunno, the R&D waypoint for the Tar Elemental event. They’re didn’t stick around because they wanted to do the events, they stuck around because it was easy money.

Now that it’s no longer easy money? They’ll move to the next event area and the fix which was calibrated for a large mass of players which is no longer there doesn’t work.

I’ve always considered champion mobs the most boring part of the game.

No real challenge, they just take a long time for no real payoff.

If the game just had text saying “champion mob!” and it alt tabbed you for 60 seconds, the experience would be the same.

Well, in the sense of me being on the ground with “Return to Waypoint” on the screen? Yes It would be the same, just cut out about 10 minutes of dodging and healing.

@tobias
true,
maybe im just not that type of player.
i play casually, get my 1 gold per 2 hours, spend 10$ to buy gems every month (imo they deserve it), and i happen to have a smooth and interesting progression curve with gold and laurels and ecto all comin up together.

I do just about all of that except buying Gems. And if I could afford to do it, I . . . probably would, in all honesty, for a few months until I reached everything I wanted to. (A couple extra character slots, full bank tabs, and the occasional key.)

You know what annoys me the most about all this…

Im sure Anet has data on how many Guilds there are, and how much influence they have, and would have set the entry cost at what they thought achievable for the majority, based on their data.

Or, another way of looking at it, they purposely chose to isolate a fraction of their community from enjoying this content.

I’m sure they have data on it too, and I’m sure if asked they can come back in five minutes with any specific data present in their game. Such as a specific guild’s upgrade history.

I also “have data” on what the popular vote results were four elections ago, for . . . say . . . Rhode Island, in the sense that I can go searching and in ten minutes (maximum) I can have any specific data figure which has been measured concerning that election.

Now, just because I have access to that data doesn’t mean I have it all the time or it’s in front of me for reference.

Also, I think there was a very standard misconception at work in setting the price: “We’ll set it so that people won’t just step into it and finish it in a week.” Buuuuut we run into a problem of them possibly being aware 10% of the guilds might be able to just . . . buy their way into it on Day 1. (Note, quite a few did, within six hours of it going live.) The question became whether they should go ahead with “setting it so it’s a slow-consumed content” versus “do we alter it so more guilds can get access immediately since 10% of them are going to anyway?”

I don’t think there’s a good decision possible there.

yeah, the regular players could get a little improved gold income.

but really… what do you need gold for “that will change your playstyle/power that much”?

- Use Gold to buy Fine/Rare materials for crafting.
- Use Gold to buy pieces to start building your Legendary.
- Use Gold to pump into Influence, especially now.
- Use Gold to work on WvW fortifications or siege.
- Use Gold for that awesome-looking item on Black Lion.

There’s plenty people would spend that gold on if they had it.

I think the issue is that people in big guilds will have access to it a lot faster than the smaller guild….if you have politics 5 and Art of War 5 already unlocked I think the total amount of influence need for all the missions so far is at about 370,000.

I don’t think we will see the effects this will have on the smaller guilds until people start getting the the new gear and rewards for being in a big guild. For the argument that people in smaller guilds will be fine and it’s a rewarding challenge….we will see how many people will want to wait 6-8 months for gear when the people from larger guilds will access to it in about a month.

I think it’s been adequately stated that it’s an cost-to-access issue.

I also think “gear” is less of an issue here than just being able to do it.

I would love it if you could get an extra laurel for completing ALL available daily objectives.

That would just invalidate the entire idea and people would feel obligated to do all nine again…

I’d call it a choice. That there are eight dungeons in the game doesn’t mean I have to do them all every day, either. But I could!
As a player who doesn’t run a whole lot of instances and prefers PvE in the open world, I wouldn’t mind having an -optional- longer daily to do.

But you would see loads of people coming to complain it’s no longer “optional” if it gives you a Laurel. And from a perspective they’d be correct, it’s the same that Guild Missions, Ascended Gear, Dungeons, Fractals, WvW, sPvP . . . all of that is “optional” but people still feel they need to do it because there’s a reward from doing these things.

I’m curious, not trying to bash you . . . but have you done it yet yourself? If so then I can at least reassure my guild a bit.

Small guilds can grind cash and buy influence. Bargain basement prices, 50k Unlock is YOURS for only 100 G’s!

Or alternatively you can ignore the “new content”. If ArenaNet realises people just aren’t prepared to jump through those kind of hoops maybe they will adjust future updates. Maybe not though.

I know this, Sarie, I made this point before up-thread. I’m more curious if anyone has actually gotten their small 10-15 person guild to go do this stuff and can report back on the difficulties.

I’m sorry, I’m past asking about theoretical now since the patch is live and we can get hard data.

We don’t need more daily nonsense, this game was supposed to avoid stuff like that.

This last update was supposed to get away from the “but I don’t want to do kill variety/crafting/healer” crowd who were upset at the second format, and the people who still weren’t happy at the fixed first system acting as a fixed checklist of things to get done.

You mean stealth additions to the game database before the content is actually in the game which uses it?

In my opinion, the different ways to play the game (namely open world PvE, instances, WvW) should yield a roughly equal monetary reward per hour played. If this were the case, people wouldn’t be forced to artificially ‘farm’ gold, they would get it from playing the game normally. Which in my opinion is the way it should be.

I totally agree. I’ve been playing since September doing mostly map completion, exploration, DEs, alts, etc. I’m always out and about in various parts of the world, but financially I have suffered a lot for that playstyle.

I tried farming Cursed Shores and I could only bear to do it about an hour at a time every other day at best. It just wasn’t fun. I’d end up retreating back into actually enjoyable activities and subsequent in-game poverty.

I’ve done the same thing but I found . . . it’s not quite “poverty” as much as “I don’t have nearly as much money as the people selling Precursors or expensive Sigils/Runes” . The problem is, unfortunately, I’m okay with not being super-rich.

@Tobias Trueflight:
I invite you to read the following post (earlier in this thread), because it sums up people’s concerns very well.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/New-guild-missions-opinions-concerns/page/14#post1522077

The author also argues that the situation is FINE and EXCELLENT for the larger guilds. If you are a member of such a guild (or care nothing for guild content at all), then you indeed have nothing to complain about.
However, people who are NOT a member of a large guild and DO care about guild content, are put in a difficult place, as pressure is put on them (and ONLY on them) to choose between new guild content, and playing with their friends. How large this group is, I dare not say, but I also dare not regard this group as insignificantly small.

If you must disagree with some of the concerns brought forward in this thread, please address the arguments people bring to bear. If any of those arguments do not relate to you or how you play the game yourself (or the people you play with), then please just admit that you are not in a position to comment on it, and leave it at that.

Oh no, no, I’m not qualified to discuss the heart of the matter in any logical fashion. A half-week of discussing this matter taught me that. Why?

1. The small guild I’m part of is actively figuring out what they need to do to participate rather than saying it’s impossible. We’re not disbanding to go to a larger guild or trying to absorb other guilds into ourselves. We’re willing to work to make an attempt before we actually say it’s impossible to do.

2. I’ve gone back on statements made in the past and tried to change my opinion. This cannot be allowed.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s working as intended though, the rest of the area seems normal. Even if I walk just a little bit away from the area in question, the leveling system returns to normal. I saw a thread on this right after the last patch but I don’t think anyone was able to provide a screenshot so just wondering if I should create a thread in the bug section on this or try and find the thread that has been buried. Either way I’m sure this post/thread will be past on to the devs so maybe I don’t need to do anything?

No, I’d still post it into the Bug forum and /bug it in game. Don’t ever assume it will be seen if you only say it once in a place not explicitly for it.

As for these? I guess it’s a sign of the level scaling boundaries being a little too fuzzy in that place.

I think the masses have spoken, the small guilds are in agreement that the current system alienates them from the guild mission content.
:)

The masses have not spoken! The masses are playing the game happily… only the whiners have spoken..

Well, if there are 17+ pages of “whiners” about the same exact thing . . . maybe there IS a problem.

If all it takes to declare a problem is a 17+ page thread, we could be in real trouble. “I don’t like X” “go make a post on the forum, we’ll all chime in and once it hits page 18 they’ll have to change it”.

I agree, this thread has what 800 posts? maybe 600 unique posters (prob much less). sorry, but this is a tiny fraction of the player base and even of the forum users.

If I were in the market for a new widget and researched it online. After reading the feedback from existing customers, 17+ pages and 600+ negative comments would not entice me to purchase that product.

This could be why nobody would purchase an iPad, or a Windows machine, or a Mac, an XB360 . . . a Wii, well, just about anything really. There’s a real difficulty to shopping, seeing that there’s an overwhelmingly bad reaction on a forum, and determining not to buy it.

Seriously. Nobody would ever buy anything.

Then why have forums at all?
If community feedback means nothing because the contributors account for a minority, why even bother?

Dear neighbor, I ask myself that question every time I poke my head into an official or unofficial fan forum. The trouble isn’t that it means “nothing” the trouble is separating the people who have complaints with some backbone to them against the people who just want things easier and more immediately. Or are just trolling out of boredom and stopped playing the game a long time ago.

And if you had similar chances to earn tier-six Fine materials in earlier areas, you’d see the starting areas packed to the gills all over again with people. I mean, not the people you’d want to see there, and new folk wouldn’t have anything to actually do before the farm-squads descended on anything that moved for their materials . . . but it’d be fixed for everyone else.

Initially that would probably be true, but I would like to believe that over time people would come to realize more profitable DEs/farming areas in the world besides the starting zones. I mean, if bags and fine materials scaled then people would ideally be spreading out more to maximize their profits.

As an example, the Ulgoth/Kol chains in Harathi Hinterlands would be more profitable than probably anything you could find in Queensdale. There are probably a lot of other similar events in the world people just aren’t aware of yet. They tend to go with what’s familiar or what they’ve read about others doing.

“Over time” would mean “one week”. Seriously. That’s how long it would take for the word to get out that there’s a couple places you can milk the heck out of drops which are now T6 materials, or Ecto-providing Rares, and we’d be back at the same issue again . . . that certain events are getting more attention than others.

Hey, but at least T6 materials would be more abundant.

It’s not even that . . . it’s that it would be really easy to mold the game into something just by starting a post and getting enough people posting in it. For example? “Class X is useless and should just be removed”. 18 pages in two days with people declaring Class X is fine and people just haven’t figured out how to use the skills, people who are in the middle saying they don’t play it but never had an issue, and the diehard true believers who want to inflict the change.

And if all a post needs to do is reach 17+ pages to be declared an issue which needs to be changed, then there would be all sorts of things fighting to get posted up here, and maybe even dueling topics. “Temple Karma exotics are too expensive” vs “Temple Karma exotics are not expensive enough”. Not to mention topics which would be obviously out to unbalance the game just for the giggles.

This is a very bad idea, T1-T4 mats would become more expensive than T5-mats – and you couldn´t even farm them with your lvl 80.

Turning this around . . .

Where’s the problem with that? In theory it will allow some wealth to move from the level 80s who need the low-tier materials to the people who actually are earning them. I mean, if Tiny Claws start costing 50s a pop then you’ll see people selling them rather than hoarding them.

Materials are hard to farm for lower level characters who don’t want to wait until 80 to start crafting; I hoarded materials all through leveling and still needed to buy some from the TP to craft efficiently. It takes quite a few of each type of material to get through a crafting tier, and a change that caused low-level drops to spike in price that high would make starting a craft prohibitively expensive for many people.

I’ve had numerous people tell me I’m not supposed to be actually using materials for crafting, I’m supposed to be selling them when they’re worth the most. Especially for low level characters. The reasoning is that crafting isn’t profitable itself so why aren’t you selling the materials and avoid throwing more money than you need to away.

So, really, by the mindset which comes up with the above . . . making T1-T4 materials much more valuable is okay. “Nobody” uses them for crafting anyway.

New waypoints added?

I’m on Plains of Ashford map and it seems they added a new waypoint that I can’t find. It’s for map completion and I have exhausted all known spots to research it. If anyone can tell me where or what it could be hidden in, I’d certainly appreciate it. I took my map completed character to the same map, and now it states I’m missing one with that character as well. Any help would be appreciated…Amanra

It’s near Decimus Stones, just in the rocks to the south: “Langmar Estate”

Dredge and F-Legion behind Fire&Ice

in Lore

One of the new ascended items has text hinting at the combined forces of dredge and flame legion.

Is it possibly foreshadowing this Fire&Ice? Since we know for sure it does not feature the elder dragon minions (according to a dev post) we can conclude dredge + flame legion. Interestingly enough, both have ties to Primordus.

I’m sorry, I’m still amused swinging by Lion’s Arch and spotting who is the “mysterious benefactor” there for the refugees and what their plans are to help them.

Interestingly, I’m having trouble picturing the Dredge and Flame Legion working together willingly. The Dredge have proven rabidly xenophobic, and the Flame Legion are never shy about merely using whatever tools come their way. Yet Dredge invaders are dropping Ritual Bags and Flame Legion are pouring out of Dredge assault vehicles . . .

I still cannot shake the idea that something is seriously amiss here.

Daily achievements more of a grind now?

Tobias Trueflight.8350

Would you really rather have the old system than the new one?

Sorta?

I could do the oldest form of the system every day with little problem. I even put a small walkthrough up for guildmates to look at and add to when we found good spots to knock them all out.

The second version, the “interim” I suppose, we shrugged and came up with ways of handling each individual aspect. It was a little fun to go “so what do we need to do today?” . . . the sort of thing we liked looking at on Zaishen quests.

Now? I’m not too sure. I like the oddity of some of these. I like the variety of them, which seems to be more than the “interim”. But I can only do so many Skill Challenges, or Personal Story missions. And I might not have the means to do Fractals on a day when it comes up. The saving grace is that even if all three come up at once I still do have seven more to pick from to do five of. And that’s if I decide I don’t want to just skip the day.

Like I said, I must be either a moron or in need of different meds, because I don’t see an insurmountable problem.

I see, so it isn’t insurmountable. But… it IS a problem… and who wants to play a game that gives them more problems? If it is dull, grindy, and just not fun then our question is not “How difficult is it to overcome?” but “Why subject ourselves to this?”

I didn’t say it was a problem in that post.

Saying that you don’t see an “insurmountable problem” is conceding that it is a problem because otherwise you would just say you don’t see a “problem”.

And mincing words unnecessarily doesn’t make you right. You already got me to admit there was a problem later, so why why why why why why why do you keep beating on this?

I say it’s one now, but the question you pose is valid. “Why subject yourselves to this?” I ask myself that every time I click on my bookmark for the forum, you know . . . I know I will see mostly negativity and things that make me crack molars trying not to rage-post.

So why do I bother? In the hopes there’s this one interesting thing that gets my attention, that makes me smile. Something to make my day go a little bit better.

That’s why people play games even if they have to wade through some sewage to get to what they want to enjoy. It’s something to make their day go a little better.

Yup, that is what everyone wants in their game. Sewage. And we all want a White Knight in the forums to wade in, taste it, and tell us it is gravy. Or at least that it is possible to swim across without drowning — because you actually described it for what it is – sewage (although apparently sewage is not actually a problem after all). Thank you.

No, I swear . . .

. . . this is the sort of thing, right here, that makes me want to just plain quit altogether. I can’t make an analogy without it being flawed or the words being taken out of context and used directly.

I don’t care anymore about this whole matter. I really don’t. I wasn’t “white knighting” as I saw it by standing there going “it’s not out yet” or “there are ways around this”. It doesn’t stop people from lumping me in with people going “there’s no problem, there’s nothing wrong, everything is fine”.

Everything is not fine, everything is not awesome. Everything is also not terrible and horrible and an affront to decent people everywhere. I’ve thought I did a decent enough job of not jumping to hyperbole and being the blind defender people seem to want to paint me as.

I don’t like it, but I can get over it. I didn’t really like Ascended gear either, but I got over it after thinking about it for five minutes and going: “is this going to screw up the way I play?” and coming back with “no, not really”. Same here, and the guild I’m in is okay with getting to this stuff later than everyone else.

Nobody seems to think we have a right to exist right here in the middle of “it’s okay, we’ll deal with it” rather than “it’s awesome” and “it’s the ugliest crap ever”. And that’s really all there is to say from me:

“I like the update concept. It could have used some tweaks to cost perhaps, but it’s okay. We’ll deal with it as we find out more. Looking forward to giving it a run in a week.”
