well, at base seems low, but remember that most staff skills do both dmg and healing so it might be faster than we think
Eles still remain the best might stacking class in game, not even herald stack it as fast as them
soo with healing now being actually significative, wich gear you guys will be the meta now for druids? cleric? magi? celestial, cleric?
cleric armor with magi accessories sounds like a solid choice imo
or maybe should anet create a new atribute armor that has healing power as main, then power and prescision as secondary?
what secondary weapon will you guys be using? staff seems like a pretty nice replacement for LB, so me personally will get my GS or S main for extra movement and some melee dmg

Datamining revealed “aspect swapping” and glyphs for druid, so it seems they’ve taken a leaf out of elementalist book
you can try to clean it up too, maybe is getting dusty; i have a radeon hd 6950 that worked flawlessly to me but after a good time (like 2 years without maitenance) i started to get fps drops and high temperature (84 degrees)
i opened the machine and checked and the videocard cooler was full of dust balls and very dirty on the small spaces, after cleaning it it started to work perfectly again
we know its coming back, we just dont know when
The Tribal armor set and other armor sets that were sPvP-exclusive will be obtainable again at some point in the future. There is no ETA as to when this will happen.
and remember the tempest in the PoI video was wearing it, it might be a sign

Dont get it….2 legs running with weapons stowed?..then when they draw weapons they should be on 4?? How they gonna hold weapons? with their teeth and ears?
wouldnt be the first time thats seen (KHII lion sora anyone?)
one of the things that made me stop using mes as main was that the most viable dmg build (phantams) was hell boring for pve, ppl told me that the reason that shatter mesmer didnt worked was because the clone generation for shatter feeding and the CD
would like to hear the opinions from people that have tested chrono deeply the last 2 betas; with the now endless supply of clones and reduced CD from alacry, do you think shatter mesmer will be decent for pve content now?
small quote taking from their wiki “When they are moving, and their paws are unoccupied, the charr favor running on all four limbs with a loping gait”
they are still animals after all, of course they have to walk on 2 when using weapons, and prefer walking and standing straigh to show some pride and not having to “look up” at other races, but digitigrade legs arent made for “runing” on 2, just imagine the strain they should be going trough when doing so by continuously leaving all their weight to fall on their digits

Anet doesn’t balance around WvW roaming, sorry.
This. It’s well known how broken they are, condi trap thieves are just as bad.
Having said that Scrapper hyyyyypppppeeeeeeee, wide area reveal on short cool down 4tw. Should be more reveals in the game, to promote active play over camping stealth.
dont forget Dragonhunters´s light´s judgement and Heralds Gaze of Darkness, classes are getting more and more stealth counters, and we still dont know if Druid will also have one
bright side, they are doing the reveal on a “public” place and not streamed, wich mean that they will be present to recive the tomatos to the face and boos shall they screw the ranger spec
the g600 i ordered arrived today, its perfect for my hand size and incredible confy the current setup im using is the one patou was using with a few changes:
skill 1-5: q,g9,g10,g11,e
however the utilities 1,2,3 i set them on G12,G13 and G14
heal skill i set it as left wheel click and elite as right wheel click (6 hours with it and just recently i discovered that the wheel itself has 3 buttons) middle wheel click for wep swap
and G-shift G9-13 for profesion skills
Its a matter of preference, more dmg (or condicional dmg vía modifiers like I did) or more defense. Yup your build has 422 more power. But mine has 3k more hp and 700 more armor
Btw, yup i had pve in mind when making the build
The critic without food will indeed be around 36%, 76% on fury and around 80% with baners
Its personal preference like I said, I decided to sacrifice that 20% crit in favor of more defense (3k armor and 20.5k hp) because we dont know how hard Hot content will be. All we know from an arenanet response is that runing into a raid geared with full zerker gear as we do now with dungeons will be suicide and will promp us to try different builds
this is a build i did combining zerker and valkyry gear with cavalier accs. achieves 20k hp with 3k armor for nice survivility, while also having over 200% ferocity with 80% crit chance thanks to the rolling mist trait
downside is that your power rests on the 2200 mark, however this is compensated by having a pasive perma 14% dmg increase thanks to ferocious agresion and targeted destruction traits. wich becomes a woping total of 40% dmg under targets bellow 50% hp when we add the swift termination trait and superior rune of the eagle.
sum to that an additional 2% dmg increase for each boom on you thanks to Elder´s force trait
(edited by Tora.7214)
I don’t think that’s a good idea. They will nerf it a bit and people will learn Reve’s animations to be able to beat it fairly consistently.
Roll a D/D ele if you want to be OP.
or a PU condi mesmer if he wanna be op in WvW
the second version of my rolling valky build my fav to far, involves using a combination of zerg armor alongside valky and cavalier trinkets to reach 82% crit (with fury) 203% ferocity, a niche 3k armor and 20.7k hp
power is a little below the average being at the 2200 ap, but makes up for it thanks to the ferocity and high crit but mostly because with superior rune of the eagle it has enough dmg modifiers to hit an permanent 14% more dmg always, 40% agaisnt targets below 50% hp and on top of that additional 2% for each boom on you
i made these 2 builds using the rolling mist trait for shiro/herald they are similar, the first use valkyrie gear and bersek/valkyrie accesories to reach 82% crit rate (with fury) 214% ferocity, 20.8k hp and 2.6k AP
the second one combines zerk with valkyrie and cavalier gear, different runes to obtain the same stats as above but exanching 300 AP for 800 armor, but compensating the power lost by having enough dmg modifiers to hit 40% more dmg agaisnt targets below 50% hp
the black and white feathered wings are very nice addition and quite popular, however some would agree that the black and white color choices require to make several amends to armor to make it look good (human and norn races look good with any, wherever the other need to dye their armor abyss or celestial or in charr case black or white fur to make them look good) i suggest they added a brown dyed version of the wings to add more variety to the choice
my second suggestion is that there be a skin that replace the glides with the wings backpack so it looks like our character is actually using them to fly around and not a simple accesory. they wouldnt need to be easy to obtain, since the wings backpack come and go from the gem story they could create and “achivement” that unlocks when you unlock both white and black (and hawk if they were added) wing skins to the wardrobe wich would unlock the skin use for gliders.
I have stopped reading after this pathetic tip :
“1) make it throw a rock and have it teleport you to where the rock hits (though this would mean you can’t use it when out of range which a lot of us don’t want)”
what does that tip even has anything to do with revenant beside crippling the class ?
Another QQ thread that bring nothing but whine.
Guardian has sword skill #2, 2 meditation, thief has a signet, steal, shadowstep all of which do the exact same thing.“2) make it a ground targeted blink skill” -> Phase Traversal a gap close supposed to let you engage and make your next few skills unblockable a ground teleport ?
facepalm
“I thought thieves were supposed to be the most mobile class in the game? with revenants this mobile, is there ever any reason to take a thief?”
Revenant can’t move fast without a target, that’s the downside of phase traversal, making it a ground target teleport will make it a thief bow #5 clone, thief will always be the most mobile class out of combat (if you consider the perma swift from the dodge of the upcoming elite spec there is no doubt).
atleast you readed a few more sentences, i stopped the moment i readed the tittle, how many “brokenly” or “massively” OP tittled revenant topics do we have allready?
i ordered last week what will be my first gaming mouse ever, a logitech g600 as i await for it to arrival.
i was wondering if i could get some opinions from people that have used it, are that confy to use with a game like gw2? how long does it takes to get used to it.
oh and, what buttom set up have you find that work or is more confy for you to use? just used the default configuration that cames with the mouse or have you tweaked the buttoms order to your convenience?
Nice build
btw, that intro where you slowly walk would have looked cooler if you have had done it with the gs unsheathed (charr walking (non running) animation with gs is cool)
Thanks, well I liked the walking on this one cause it fits the start of the song :P
I mean, when you toggle walking with a gs unsheathed on a charr, they walk with style holding the gs behind their backs with a single hand Xd
Anyway i started crafting for a ascended sword and I was going for the usual zerker stats, this video makes me want to try it instead xD, nice ascended gear stats are.particulary easy to change
made this alternative version of the gear tossing in a couple of soldier and cabalier pieces, the crit on fury is the same, the ferocity is similar too, and hp too the only difference is that it trades 300 power in exchange of 800 armor
i think the 300 power could be overlooked since this build has enought dmg modifiers on traits and runes to give the reve an extra 40% dmg to targets below 50% hp, we dont know how hard HoT content will be but from anet imply´s we can assume that a little extra toughness wont be bad
the PAX event didnt stopped them from doing berserker reveal… and they still have to do their PoI episode mordren event or not so i really see no reason to why not do a reveal this week…
considering there is a beta left, we have a release date, one would imagine that arenanet would hurry up in showing the last 2 remaining specializations
Nice build btw, that intro where you slowly walk would have looked cooler if you have had done it with the gs unsheathed (charr walking (non running) animation with gs is cool)
another “revenant x is OP” post? gosh…
Seriously… all this over an ability that has less DPS than sword auto attack + impossible odds?
It’s a shadowstep + blurred frenzy with a larger radius, 1 less attack, less damage per hit, and a longer specced cooldown. OMG NERF!
The ability shadow steps and then does an AE … so after the shadow step you could just move out of range of it via teleport, RTL, double dodge, ect.
Or you could just stand near other people and all the attacks will be split between you.
Mesmer could just spam blurred frenzy every time to negate it … or just turn invisible.
Thief will just evade or stealth ignore it.
Ele: Static Field, Unstead Ground, ect
ect, ect, ect …Screw it, I’m done … I don’t know if you are just too lazy or too incompetent to figure this out on your own.
mesmer wouldnt even need to dodge at all, just have 3 clones out and will barely do dmg
and once chronomancer comes out they will laught at UA
I wonder why we keep discussing this topic when we allready have an oficial answer by arenanet in other post that they “do” are gonna put stuff like the tribal armor back.
I dont see why to keep discussing this anymore, like if the “special snowflakes” protests would convince arenanet to not do so
This is a L2P issue really.
Most people will rather have something nerfed than actually L2P and level up their game, do a research about countering and so on. Like actually put an effort into it.
If you guys keep saying it is a L2P issue, then pls TELL us how to counter it. You can only interrupt it before the attack began, because after you are dodging each cc an enemy is throwing against you. If you blind the skill before it gets used, just 1 of the 7 hits will fail, the other 6 will hit you. You can’t use AoE damage like against a backstab thief, because you are evading the whole time.
If there is any real counter (and it isn’t a counter to use a invuln skill with 60s cd against a skill with 10s cd), please tell us! Block does work but has mostly much larger cd as UA too. Some professions don’t have any blocks (just like necromancer for example).
You cant have a counter for each and every single UA. Just like you cant have one for each and every single 100b/rapid fire. That would be unfair
However
Ranger:Gs block, double evade
Guardian: blind, aegis, ring of wardin, double evade
Warrior: shield block, double evade
Thief: sb evade, tripple evade (daredevil), staff evade, stealth, double evade
Engineer: shield block, turrets to divide dmg, double evade
Mesmer: stealth, illusions to reduce dmg, double evade
Elementalist: shock aura on demand, double evade, perma 50% protecction(tempest)
Necromancer: double evade, enter death(reaper) shroud, minions to reduce dmg
There you go short cd methods for each class, if you dont have one on those in your build, then like I say, you cant expect to have a counter for everything in any build.
Cheers
Actually there was no rng on tribal, there was a very large post on Gw2guru that updated daily and had a list of what you had to throw into the mf to get anything and at what rank to get it
guys give it a rest, anet allready said that tribal and other armor would be obtainable again soon, and the tempest in the PoI reveal wearing tribal armor might be a sign that the day is getting closer. then we can eat those greedy ppl delicious tears as they cry in forum to anet for adding them back
while i wouldnt totally mind getting elite specs earlier, i think that wont be posible because what Anet had in mind is that lore wise the classes obtained these new powers either in maguma or shortly before as preparation to face mordremorth
once you get used to it its really confy to play with controller, most ppl prefer gaming mouses though (those with 12+ buttoms)
UA is fine, pls theres no need to nerf a prof when people still dont know how to play against it
14k damage with one skill with evade and without a chance to kite it because it will port you wherever the enemy runs in a 1 on 1 fight is fine? srsly? xD
Yes. Because if it does hit 14k that’s 100% the other players fault for failing to know how to dodge or use any other form of defense that’s given to them. It’s a learn to play issue. The class and skills are new
i would love to know what that revenant did to achieve 14k UA, because with full berserker gear and all hits criting the highest i manage is 8k on single target
I already proposed a change which doesn’t nerf UA but makes it more counter-able if needed and the thread is below.
Fun thing – If you see Rev using it on you and you have teammates nearby, drag him with yourself to your allies or away from teamfight. UA follows everywhere and won’t be stopped, so you can get too brave Rev out of position pretty easily.
but your suggestion doesnt take the pve aspect of the game on count and would kitten the skill badly in HoT pve content
people just need to learn to get acostumised to it and counter it, remember 100b was the topic of nerf for a good couple of months after release, now ppl barely speak of it anymore
Dont ignore my coment though, i agree that a tweak to this skill wouldnt be bad
“however” when you make a suggestion you have to have both aspects of the game in mind, pvp AND pve. We dont want another wildstar in our hands
The suggestion above might be decent for pvp, but nerfing the aoe dmg of a skill that allready becomes weaker when used as an aoe will severely hinder its use in Hot content
Good suggestion for pvp, but how would that affect pve? Hot allready showed that multiple enemies is something to expect, making Ua him less, and now add another nerf to it in above it
Not for “this”. Ranger and engineer are still waiting for their.specialization reveals, wich hopefully we will be getting in the next couple of weeks
All we know of druids is that theyre using staff and from datamining that they are getting something similar to elementalist attunement swapping in the form of aspect swapping and glyphs
(edited by Tora.7214)
It doesnt nesesarily need to have superior booms than revenant, since from what we know is that they affect multiple targets while “swapping aspectos” it might be a new kind/style of buff that stacks alongside normal booms, just like warr baners
oh it sounds realy fun build and such
idk about jalials dont like his skils that much so i think i gono switch it into shiro but question though how do you upkeep the fury so high when swaping to other legendes from glint?
well, i had general pve and raid content in mind when i made this build thats why i chosed jalis since 3 more usefull defensive utilities (50% dmg reduct, stability, aoe hammers) make up for on demand quickness from shiro (since the gap closer, lunge back, and petrify arent very used in pve), main dmg comes from sword by stacking might and fury in glint stance, Jalis only working as a defensive shift when needed, using One with Nature (double press F2) to get fury in the short time that you spend out of glint
for spvp or wvw Shiro would probably be more usefull, or even Mallyx
(edited by Tora.7214)
looking for a “dark knight” yet not soo bulky look for my charr reve, this is how i want her to look in HoT, with a couple of jormag breath swords or if i can get my hands on it chaos swords, the rest being pit fighter chest piece, charr cultural t2 helm and t3 shoulders, revenant gauntlets and studded plate leggins and boots
after spending a good bit of time yesterday testing revenant in dungeons, i noticed that with the rolling mist trait revenant doesnt really need prescision at all to have a high critical chance, and being able to permanently have fury on glint stance and with facet of nature while in other stances, that in mind i played around with the builder and made this build, i would love to hear opinions on it
the idea is to use the rolling mist trait to achieve high crit chance without needing presicion, wich leave us to use valkyrie gear to exchange the stat for vitality, while still achieveing high crit chance thanks to the trait and vit to pres food and accuracy runes
pros
-very high critical chance on fury thanks to rolling mist (82%)
-high ferocity (224%)
- high party support with gling stance; protection, swiftness, fury and stacking might and facet of nature
- fast personal and party stack of 25 might stacks without need of fire fields thanks to strengh runes, shared empowerment and facet of strengh and unrelenting assault
- decent survavility with altmost 21k hp and 2200 armor, stability , protecction and the 50% reduced dmg from Jalis elite
- decent aoe with unrelenting assault, vengeful hammers and chaotic release
cons
- condition builds
might want to trade fierce infusion for cleansing channel or change Jalis for Mallyx at the cost of vengeful hammers and stability/rite of the great dwarf
(edited by Tora.7214)
even when guardian dmg is lower than warrs, the elegancy of guardians as been their pretty nice party support
however after spending all the evening testing revenant/herald on parties todays, might heralds become a threat for guardians spots on raids?
this is coming from someone whos first 80 and main for a year was a guardian, i felt like revenant both surpassing us in dmg and party support (kittenload of might stacks, perma fury, swift, protection on demand, 50% buff duration) the only buff we still outshine them being on demand aegis
i was trying to dress my beta zerker exactly as my warr look to feel like if it i was playing my warr in HoT allready. however i couldnt because for some reason there are a lot of missing skins in my warrobe
dunno how many more but in my particular case i was missing the skins for the studded plate armor, the black feathered wings (and this is odd because the white feathered wings didnt failed to be on the list) and the pit figher armor
i dont even play warr myself, but imagine a guardian, mesmer or traited ranger in wvw reflecting this back into the warr zerg xD
i think that even i rev were to do less dmg than ele, ppl would still want one in a raind just for the kittenload of might stacks and perma protection, fury, swiftness buffs
hello, im planing to get a gw1 campign and EotN to get 10 HoM points for the staff and Rytlock sword.
however i readed that there is supposed to be a bug or something that isnt letting you obtain the HoM rewards?
also what would be the “fastest” campaign and class to quickly obtain 10 points?
