in all fairness power builds can solo the svanyir/cheiftenn pretty quick, A power ranger, and power necro can kill it with out even stopping on the way to mid. as in together as a pair

I agree with that. Ranger usually takes the path that leads to Svanir for better sniper spot anyway. For power ranger, it merely takes around 10 seconds to kill a Svanir while keep on moving toward the middle. Once Svanir is killed, ranger can proceed on to middle and snipe from above.

LB is in a pretty good spot. Aside from barrage being a little hard to use, it’s in the right place atm.

Only thing that need polish is how the traitline works right now. Skirmishing traits are just too lackluster in many aspects. GS traits tend to all stuck in survival/nature lines too. Beastmaster has many useless traits that’re hardly used, plus pet damage is pretty bad to invest in Beastmaster. (Used to scale better though)

PU mes isnt fun for the other person to fight against. Even if you can kill them, it’s not satisfying. Its an aggravating experience to fight a PU mes.

Wah! You guys are making me sad. I enjoy PU Mes when I’ve played so far – but are there other solid condition builds that aren’t quite so “frustrating” like you said?

Any input from a Mesmer that runs PU in WvW? Do you find this is true? That you mostly just have people running from you….?

Condi builds in general aren’t fun to fight against no matter the class. Atleast not for me. I generally just ignore anyone if i see corruption stacks or condi food on them. Dire armor so the can facetank everything you do against them and not even have to react to what you do while they 111111 and put condis on you non stop from passive procs while you have to play carefully and try to counter everything they do, isn’t a satisfying experience.

I’m fine with condition, as long as they don’t RUN AWAY after their failed attempt (looking at you perplex venom thief), and as long as they don’t hide in shadow and gank me with 3.

Confirmed, Revs are all Kormir. Rytlock and Kormir had a thing for each other in the Mists.

There will be a Kormir stance for the Revenant.

Legendary Kormir Stance: invoke the power of the Legendary Goddess Kormir.
When invoked, you are blinded. Any time one of your allies finishes a event, you get credit for completing it instead. Whenever a condition hits you, you steal all boons, mats, and gold from all party members. If party members ask you for help, you will remind them that you are blind and can’t help them any more.

Really can’t stop laughing reading this LOL..

First off it took a bit of getting used to not having weapon cool-downs. It was awesome. I could just sit there and spam heartseeker as if its an i-win button, my only counter being endure pain skills.

TBH the damage output here is what i’ve been trying to push out of warrior for some time now- rifle burst pushing the limits but being insanely unreliable. But this? This is crazy, i feel like i just started playing a 1up profession. It’s my first day with it, and already i’m scoring top 3 on my team several games in a row.

-snip-

Hard to play? Not really- i could work on some timings and cooldowns but tbh the overall survival mechanics and reliance of cooldowns on my warrior made that WAY harder than this profession.

Please, please, please tell me this was you trying to gather proof of how “awesome” HS spam is while I was screwing around on my warrior.

Barrage Rework

Toxsa.2701

you realize it will hit like 10k if they stay in it? Meteor on ele hits harder but hits less. maybe if it worked more like that?

Meteor Shower also hits wider thanks to each meteor counts as one big aoe. Meteor Shower takes less damage from retal but hit like 3 times harder than barrage, that’s a known fact. For barrage’s 5 second initial cripple, dodge roll doesn’t get affected by cripple, so you can still dodge out of barrage instantly after the initial hit, that’s why I suggest an initial 5 second cripple for first few pulses, so the cripple is not completely useless on mobile foes.

Barrage Rework

in Ranger

Posted by: Toxsa.2701

Toxsa.2701

I think barrage is fine as it is now.
The only QoL change needed is that it should ignore retaliation because the number of hits is too many…

Also it is not really a reliable cripple tool for LB, so I think one more QoL change is needed. The first 2 second of pulses should cause cripple for 5 seconds, following by the remaining 8 seconds cripple for 2 seconds per hit. This is to ensure enemies will stay inside the AOE field longer, and make LB a more reliable weapon to snare.

If the new legendaries are going to be account bound on acquire why must we continue to do these scavenger hunts of hundreds of useless things, on top of exploring the whole map, hundreds of dungeon runs, etc etc etc.

It would be nice if players had meaningful content to complete with meaningful rewards that didn’t require soul destroying feats of worthlessness to complete.

Some of the greatest memories of past MMOs come from Asheron’s Call and when I got things like my Greater Shadow Armor, Atlan Weapons, and Composite Crossbow.

Here it feels like such an enormous exercise in futility.

Seriously, what do you mean by “meaningful contents”?
From what you said, you sound like you don’t want to do anything, and Anet should just hand out legendary skin easily right?

From all the info I see, I did not see any part saying you need some expensive materials x 200 to make these new precursors. You have to earn it from defeating monsters and such. Let’s just hope the drop rate of those required stuff is not too “legenary low drop rate” though, otherwise it’s kind of defeat it’s purpose…

Are they including some of the insanely high price skin like Volcanus, Jaggument, Foefire series and so on?

Why would they, they aren’t precursors.
Also, I assume Jaggument is supposed to mean Juggernaut? That is a legendary, so it will be obtainable this way?
Or did I misunderstand your question?

Sorry, I meant the Ele thunder hammer skin.
But from what I see, it says you have to do some unlocking of other skins for precursor no? I hope it doesn’t mean ALL skins other than precursors/ legendaries/ and bl weapons.

Just 2 thieves (1 burst, 1 venom sharing), add that with 3 additional players with random profession, then you’ll crash all roamers…

I saw it way too often during T1 roaming zzz.

It’s really broken that 2 thieves can easily achieve group permenant stealth, and 1 venomer is able to make all 5 allies so deadly.

Well, you know that thieves are upset about a lack of teamsupport since headstart?
If I don´t forget one, granting stealth to allies, boons through trickery or venomshare are our ways in direct support. You just insulted two of them to be broken. Maybe they are, maybe not. But they are our way to help allies. Stealth for ambushes/advantage of surprise or retreating/rezzing. Venomshare for heavy pressure, especially on called targets. I agree that they can be very strong if used correctly. A refuge at the wrong moment can screw you heavily though. Venomshare is a very interesting thing. Used it just the last weekend after a friend requested for it in a 3vs3. Used devourer and basilisk-venom. With the correct focus the target is dead, when failing in escaping.
You are talking here about 5 people what I wouldn´t consider roaming. Its more smallscale with the goal to kill the same or more numbers of enemy. In that case if the team plays well, they can of course take out target with the help of venomshare. The problem I see here consists in growing numbers of enemys and the lack of sustain of the venomshare-thief. Don´t get me wrong. You can still achieve stuff, but not as good as another class imo.
So about crashing roamers… With 5 people (1 burst, 1 venomshare, 2-3 more) you should do that everyday. Roamers are at 1-3 people normally ^^
I think you should know how many rangers are often in that groups of 5. A little bit rapidfire here and there and some lonely roamers die. What if you encounter 2 good medi-guards while being on the way while being both thieves (I assume 2 people here). Normally thats a big advantage in direction to the guards as being a known counter. Of course you can always run away and seek for easier targets, but I don´t like that. When I meet an enemy player, I fight him, with little retreats here and there. Only if I tried and think its useless I try to disengage. Thats why I like to go around with D/D ele, too. They are great in fights as giving good support, dealing a lot of damage, granting heal and have great mobility. Especially in combination with a thief
In general you can use every combination of classes that have good mobility. Thieves are still at a high spot, so a very good class to roam with. So are mesmers with traveler-runes, engis, eles, warris.

.

You don’t get it. You can easily avoid all small scale teams if they’re not invisible. But for 2 thieves team, they’re dedicated to crush all roamers because there’s no-way to avoid them if they take turn SR and keep on permanent stealth for all 5 members. They just come out of nowhere, root you with 30 seconds immobilize + numerous covered conditions, and crush you from nowhere. If they catch you, basically there’s 0 chance you can escape too, unless you’re another stealth thief who happened to react the the spike and use shadowstep instantly then SR.

Not to mention venom thief is very durable too thanks to dire gears, so you can’t just kill him before he enters into another stealth. Really, you don’t have to defend venom thief in terms of small scale roaming ability. They’re arguably the most broken and annoying spec in WvW small scale roaming, with high condition damage and supreme durability and permanent invisibility. They’re tougher than any type of burst classes, RF ranger, medi guardian, and burst thief alike.

Basically you may as well switch map if you see that kind of party roaming around on the map.

It benefits monsters way more than it benefits players. Confusion is still useless thanks for it’s scarcity in applying them, yet monsters often stack confusion like crazy (5 stacks per hit, easily build up to 25).

This so called “buff” just doesn’t make sense, and make monsters with insane confusion stacking ability to be overpowered.

RESEARCH: Opening 150 SHADOW DYE KITS

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Toxsa.2701

Toxsa.2701

150 shadow dye kits = 125 gems each = 18750 gems total = 2981 gold at current exchange rate.

Using the current asking prices from the TP below:

- Shadow Abyss x 5 (5 × 218 gold = 1090 gold)
- Shadow Blue Dye x 5 (5 × 27.5 gold = 137.5 gold)
- Shadow Green Dye x 1 (1 × 11.7 gold = 11.7 gold)
- Shadow Magenta Dye x 2 (2 × 10 gold = 20 gold)
- Shadow Orange Dye x 4 (4 × 8.7 gold = 34.8 gold)
- Shadow Purple Dye x 3 (3 × 12.9 gold = 38.7 gold)
- Shadow Red Dye x 4 (4 × 19.7 gold = 78.8 gold)
- Shadow Turquoise Dye x 3 (3 × 9.9 gold = 29.7 gold)
- Shadow Violet Dye x 6 (6 × 13.1 gold = 78.6 gold)
- Shadow Yellow Dye x 10 (10 × 8.5 gold = 85 gold)

Total from selling dyes = 1604.8 gold.

2981 gold minus 1604.8 gold = a 1376.2 gold loss. This is a horrible investment unless one of you knows something I don’t know. You spend almost twice as much as you get from selling the dyes.

Perhaps this is an investment for when the dyes are no longer available and presumably the price goes up. That would make sense I suppose. If the prices go higher than double what they are now (consider the TP’s “tax” on selling), profit may be possible.

You forget to deduct the 15% transaction fee for listing them on TP.

So I just wanted to share this news with you guys that havne’t seen it yet! Discuss!

http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3062j3/bleed_stacks_over_25_in_beta/

Hey Everyone,
As you may have noticed bleeding stacks go above 25 stacks when playing in the demo map. This is not a mistake, rather as we have said for a while now, we know that the current stack cap creates problems for condition players who want to work together. What you saw today was the first test in solving some of these problems. Keep in mind, it is not necessarily final and absolutely not the entire plan. I see many questions about how this will work and how it impacts other conditions, balance, etc. Rest assured that as soon as we have a final plan we will be revealing it and letting you all know exactly how it will work.
Jon

Will condition damage finally be a thing in PvE?

I just hope things like burning would be able to stack up abit too in PVE only. Also I hope this change is exclusive to PVE and nothing else.

At least we have much better perspective than people who’re not even in the BETA, and just speculating and theory-crafting through watching the data. That is what I called baseless and has 0 credibility. (and I’m not necessary referring to you, just stating fact.)

Actually your credibility is 0. Just bc you played beta doesnt mean anything. If your opinion is based on “better perspective” around dumbed down pve contest then i feel sorry to you and from now on i will ignore your post as you clearly have no idea about balance in this case. Also after all youre just some random player that popped up just to keep talking about how revenant is “op” while i and many other players that do pvp actually see the opposite and many ways counters to him. Also that was a stress test, not “hey come here and tell us if revenant is op” cause unlike us they already designed this class, know all his abilities and how they behave and if they feel somehting is up/op they will adjust it.

I personally hope that you get a chance to “beta test” it in stronghold and get roflstomped by another experienced player on a different class. But that probably wont stop you from qq about how op he is. It is called tunnel vision.

It is unlikely for Anet to change the skill completely at this point. All they will do is probably tweak some CD and energy cost, cast time, range and so on.

Also I find it quite pointless to argue with someone who just rage on people for pointing out their experience, even though we have valid reasoning. I already think of how to abuse those abilities, and willing to test out in PVP if I’m able, so I really can care less about your baseless accusation.

Lol, as always players will assume after 1-2 hours with the class they know more about it than the people who designed it from the ground up and have been testing it for months. ANet isn’t the greatest when it comes to balancing, but they’ve had much longer than any players to analyze the Revenant and refine it accordingly. Every possible balance concern you could have after playing with it for an hour, I guarantee you they’ve already thought of and addressed it.

There is a lot of promise with this class! At it’s current state, it’s not ready.

Really? In the first beta test? It’s not ready? Shocking.

Not the first beta test :P

The reason why I am bringing it up now is I am hoping it’s not the direction the class is going.

  • Ironically, it had some of the most interesting traits I’ve seen so far. Puts every other class to shame, granted, there wasn’t nearly as much traits as other classes but it’s clear they put the fun ones in.

_

  • In contrast, it had some of the most boring utilities so far and when your class is utility swapping focused, that’s not good. The issue was the utilities was that they behaved like utilities, the demon stance swap is the biggest culprit.

I want to feel like a powerful demon while inflicting denial, instead it was, “oh? You got boons? Swap stances, remove, swap back.” Dwarf stance, the first two utilities felt right, the swirling hammers felt out of place. You got ally support, ally support and… tickle AoE damage?

I get it, swirling hammers and dwarfs but where is the ally supporting focus?
Demon stance is purely situational, making it a rarely used and very boring stance.

-

@Absconditus.6804
I tried using the mace and mallyx stance, I still found the utilities too situational. I could use Unyielding Anguish, or I could move and fight like I always do :\
Not that Unyielding Anguish is bad mechanically wise, but it doesn’t add to how I play, it just adds damage.

lol, maybe it’s a L2P issue.
Demon stance is very strong and has lots of uses. Cleanse, free boom removal + confusion, and the 9th skill can easily CONTROL a whole group of enemies and cause mess CC bar depletion during burn phase on boss fight.

I disagree, I found the stance incredibly weak and little reason to stay in it.
Numberwise, it’s really good, boon denial, AoE torment spamming, condition drawing and condition copying.
Playing wise… It’s boring as hell. Banish Enchantment was situational, Unyielding Anguish was more condition spam, Pain Absorption was too situational and the elite, too situational.

Also, demon stance doesn’t have any condition cleansing. Did you not play the beta?

Yes, I do present in the Beta, and spent a good 3 hours testing all the Revenant skills in events and Wyvern. (I purposely avoid zergy map so I can actually try out kittens)
I did Wyvern 6 times, and spend a great deal of time try to solo mini bosses and 1 v 6 foes and fight Wyvern with 5 people several times and etc. Mallyx is capable of mess controlling a whole group of enemies, and mace-axe is a very good weapon set.

Also you’re not suppose to “camp” into one stance, you suppose to switch around according to situation. If you’re in dire danger, you should switch back to jalis and pop a defensive skill or something, and then summon hammer to quickly drain Jalis’s bar so you don’t waste your energy when you switch back to Mallyx.

Edit: I also heard people can abuse the 8th skill to stack up to 99 stack of confusion on an enemies. (5 stack of confusion per cast, and no CD) I can imagine how much chaos Revenant is capable of in PVP.

Revenant is boring to play…

Not surprised…they after keep it balanced because of there precious PvP.

All those new healing skills that they did were pretty much utter rubbish/useless/boring. Same with the new traits they have introduced over the past few years and that pass they did over the Sigils/Runes was a TOTAL JOKE and a utter waste of time for all the impact it had.

Let’s face facts Anet have lost the plot and can’t do any exciting skills/abilities. Certainly nothing that is ever going to be any kind of, ‘awesome’.

Do you even show up at beta?
Sounds like you’re just guessing random stuff and trash talk for fun.

I tried various combo of Rev, and with just a 25% completed class, I find it powerful and engaging, requires alot of multi-task and active playing to make it effective. I think it’s more busy to control revenant than controlling an ele. Some traits such as summon hammer is quite interesting and useful too.

Guess you’re either just trash talking for fun, or either HoT is not for you.

Reve also has to choose 2 from 5 legends and at this point tell me..why you would use power weapon with condi based legend? Also Mallyx is easy to cc/burst down.

That’s why you can quickly switch to Jalis and spam that Elite to take that burst for free. It takes 0.5 second to switch, and the CD is just 10 in combat. (0 CD if not in combat)

Ungent is one of the better heals in game as is and I agree that if it were to made a survival it’s base would need to be increased and 28 sounds like the best of both worlds.
Of course not everyone takes 6 into nature magic to get the cleans but those that do tend to be the survival condition and they’re already really potent as it is, the change to Ungent could be what tips the balance. That’s my opinion at least.

I was suprised we got a spirit heal and not a trap heal to be honest. Though if they changed Healing spring to a trap I’d like to see it function as follows;
Heals you for an amount when you throw the trap (Less than it currently does) but when the trap is triggered and you’re within the radius it heals you again (So overall it’d heal you for more if you’re within range than it currently does) and produce the field it currently does.

Heal as one needs to be a shout/beastmaster skill, giving some benefits to the player and more benefits to the pet. Heal as one has to be the most plain heal skill in the game only surpassed by the spirit heal.

Basically you’re just trying to break a heal skill because you expect all ranger will waste 8 points and go x x 2 6 x.

3 second CD difference is huge. For starter, Healing as one and troll unguent only have 5 seconds cd difference. Also Troll Unguent is not the best healing in game anyway. It does not cleanse, and the overall healing amount per CD is lower than a complete passive skill: Healing signet, and requires 8 points to make it slightly better than Healing signet, but requires you to activate it, and it’s also interuptable.

Firstly I never said Ungent was THE best heal in the game, I said ONE of the BETTER.
Secondly this is all speculation.
Thirdly for balance purposes you need to look at a skill fully traited AND not, hence why I said best of both worlds. You have to assume the best and the worst case scenario.

Fully traited it’d be on a 20 second cool down (50% upkeep) so effectively 10 second cool down, removes two conditions and grants fury. And on my build I wouldn’t have to change a thing, no need to adapt to it at all. It’d effectively be another condi clear every 10 seconds and an extra 100 hps however the main problem actually comes from the down time, before opponents had a 15 second window really to burn you down now they’d have 10 seconds.

So there would need to be something balanced which is going to hurt the untraited regardless.
This is coming from an sPvP perspective mostly.

8.2k over 10 secs with a 20 CD is still nowhere close to Ele’s/ Shoutbow heal/ regen amount. Even if you combine everything with heavily invested trait, it still does not outsustain the real bunkering classes. Out-perform healing signet after heavy investent is actually reasonable, because warrior, like shoutbow, can also trait heavily into cleanse and heal (Cleansing Ire, warhorn remove condition, soldier rune, shout heal), WHILE getting healing signet for granted without trait. So it is reasonable that Troll Unguent to outperform Warrior’s healing skill when we do some heavy investment into it.

And like I said, not everyone is using your build so stop mentioning how well it synergize. If the synergy is too strong, then NERF that synergy instead of breaking a perfectly viable but nowhere OP heal skill. (28 sec cd will DESTROY Troll Unguent).

A brief lookover of my post history would reveal that i am an avid warrior player, its all i’ve been playing in this game. My warrior and all his builds, from all in rifle burst, to dull shoutbow- even duel mace.

I was astonished when i played thief for the first time today with d/p.

First off it took a bit of getting used to not having weapon cool-downs. It was awesome. I could just sit there and spam heartseeker as if its an i-win button, my only counter being endure pain skills.

I didn’t really worry about the bow too much, it seems like a weak weapon but the mobility of it is INSANE- endless supply of blink? Thank you very much!

My invisibility skills felt like cheating. Heck- the moment i felt threatened id just throw down a shadow refuge and it was amazing how many people would give up looking for me.

Hard to play? Not really- i could work on some timings and cooldowns but tbh the overall survival mechanics and reliance of cooldowns on my warrior made that WAY harder than this profession.

Awesome. Can’t wait to see you in a weekly cup. Just let me know the time you are playing so that I can watch how easy it is for you.

By the way since it seems you are very new
—spamming 2 makes no sense
—talking about your personal score makes you seem like a nub

This. Spamming 2 is old news for thief and ended around 2 years ago.
Personal score literally means NOTHING, and only people who play Hotjoin may care.
Basically these 2 lines remove all the OP’s credibility already.

It wasn’t a “beta” test. it was a stress test. The test was for server stability with the new technology, not for players to “play test” the game . I feel the distinction is very important here.

As well, they already mentioned the game was tuned, very specifically, to be very easy. they stated that directly, pointing out that it was done, so that a new player could handle playing in the test. I think that explains some of your feelings of strength.

Still, it’s useful to point out some OP skills in this stress test because clearly in the Demo, the guy who’s using these skills don’t see any problem as to being too strong, and it may be possible that Anet is “balancing” Revenant base on this type of mind set. That’s why I pointed out some of the more broken skills that I found out. Note that I have experiences of all 8 classes in PVP (not the high tier one, just average though)and PVE, and generally know how all traits and skills function.

Rite of the great dwarf – if im not wrong you can use it 3 times in a row assuming you wont use other utilities nor wep skills. After that its gg – swap legend or rip in pvp. Overall if it become a selfbuff i dont see any issue with that, youre right that you can grand yourself 100% immunity uptime to direct damage if you have a group of Jalis revenants

Inspiring reinforcement – any coordinated group wont have a problem to cc the revenant. Its olny 1 stack per sec. Check even my warrior will just pummel bash>skullcrack it under 1 sec. Energy should be upped to 35 tho as yeah..it is pretty much spamable right now

Anguish – its not something you will be able to spam over and over due to it energy cost and to apply conditions..you have to be in melee range otherwise you deal no damage outside of conditions that you applied previous and which doesnt last long +can be cleansed in pvp. I see it as a defensive/gap closer skill and thats about it. Also other classes will nuke you down from range if you decide to stay in this field. Also nice tool to decap but generally i dont see any issues with that

Field of mist – might be a bit broken in wvw but in spvp its will be fine. Counter? Attack revenant from sides. Another one is immobilize condition to prevent revenant from rotating.

Mace 2 – the same can be said about combusive shot ya know? I dont see anyone complaining about it and from what i have seen it wont cover entire point either. Again i dont see any issue, for me at least.

Actually Rite of the Great Dwarf can be spammed indefinitely.
It lasts for 5 seconds, long enough to regen 40 energy because you’d get a +4 energy during the effect. During that 5 seconds you’re immune to direct damage. Point is it can be used as a free stun breaker and free endure pain which no other classes can do so.

Inspiring reinforcement:

The issue of this skill will be more problematic in PVE and WVW though.
Basically is infinite stability all again, just that this time you can’t just remove all with 1 boom removal because they pulses every second.

For cumbusion shot, you can’t really use it when you’re not in combat, so you can’t just freely pre-stack the might. But Revenant’s mace 2 has such a short cd that you can pre-stack mights whenever/ however you want. (Imagine when combine with sb thief)

As for Revenant #4 hammer, keep in mind that Wall of Refection has a 10 sec duration on 40 second Cooldown. Meaning 1/4 uptime, compared to Revenant’s 1/2 uptime.

Also the skill happens to be an utility for guardians compared to Revenant, who has it as a weapon skill which they can’t swap.

Also have to factor in that the Revenant has no control over utilities other than what legends they bring to the table of the fight.

So the legend utilities have to be balanced around that aspect of the limitations.

Note that Revenant’s projectile block is MOBILE, able to MOVE and CHANGE DIRECTION, which Guardian is incapable of. If you have 2 smart Revenants, they should be able to block all projectiles for the team if played smart.

For weapon skills:

Hammer #4 has too high of a uptime. The CD is too low, and the effect and radius is too large. Basically if combine with several Revenants, you can render all range projectile classes useless. The CD need to be increased a little, or some other changes.

Hammer #5 CD is too short for how powerful it is.
Other classes usually have similar KD that works on 1~3 targets in MELEE range, yet this skill has a wooping 1200 range. You may find it easy to dodge if there’s only 1 revenant, but imagine if there’re 10, how do you handle this insane amount of range AOE CC, especially after the stability nerf? They should decreases it’s range, and increases its CD.

Mace #2

A free fire field with such a short CD that ticks AOE burning none stop. It doesn’t seem too strong in this BETA, but when you combine this fire field nature and +condition duration traits/runes/foods, you basically have a burning monster with unlimited resource of fire field for you to blast.

But overall, Revenant’s weapons are more balanced than the utilities. I can see great synergy with mace+axe, which is kind of to my surprise. I really like how the combo works. (Axe 4+5 is just awesome, such a great PVP type of weapon)

Mallyx skills:

Skill #9:
This skill is brokenly strong. All enemies within areas just basically teleported endlessly, unable to do anything while suffering from condition. Not to mention this skill has 0 CD as well. You can basically just spam your condition and cast this skills and watch the enemies die. It’s minor issue in PVE, but I can see how broken it is in PVP, especially when combine with other range classes. They just kept being teleported away.

Elite Skill:
Another 0 CD elite skill that can be abused through traits and runes. I can see it’s uses more in PVP though.

Just finished the Beta test and I already find out some of the skills are just brokenly strong.

Jalis is the most problematic one:

7th skill This skill CD is only 5, which is way too short.
Basically you can cast it right after the previous one ends.
It grants 4 stacks of stability separately in 4 seconds to up to 5 allies.
The field also does decent damage while casting it, and the cost is low enough to keep spamming your other weapon skills while maintaining the stability field.

Basically it’s a 100% AOE stability uptime. One Revenant is bad enough, but if there’re more of them spamming this, basically you can never break their stability chain.

Elite skill: Rite of the Great Dwarf

Ok, this skill is just broken.
It has 0 CD, it can breakstun whenever you like, while casting you’re immune to CC, and after casting all direct damage does close to 0 damage to you.
Not to mention it applies up to 5 allies, so you can just spam them with several Revenants. Not to mention after casting, your energy bar regeneration enhanced by 4 bars, which will quickly refill your energy to the point to recast this skill again.
Basically this skill has 100% uptime, and can be abused even more if you have more than one Revenant.

In short, this skill is a 0 CD stun break, 0 CD stability, 0 CD endure pain to 5 allies, and has 100% up time. You can even combine this elite skill with traits/ runes that triggered upon using Elite to make it more OP. (There’s a trait that does burning to 5 targets when using Elite.)

Note that they only released about 25% of Revenant. It’s way too early to make such quick judgement.

Also, in my opinion, I find those utilities very powerful.
Some of them even too OP. I’d make another thread about some of the OP skills though.

Wait for the Stronghold and you’ll probably never see turret engineer again

I really hope Stronghold has more maps and separate itself from SPVP map selection. As ranger main, I probably will never choose maps other than Stronghold because finally there’s a map that favors skirmishing instead of bunking.

Power Ranger is not OP

in Ranger

Posted by: Toxsa.2701

Toxsa.2701

Rangers are not OP, they are just bad-balanced. People don’t need high skill to get good results against other classes, especially in tf.
I don’t say the class should be nerfed, it should be balanced, nerfed in some aspects and buffed in some other.
If i’m fighting 1vs1, then a ranger come to +1 and kill me just by pressing 2 and 5, there something wrong, cause early every other class have to toil more to achieve the same result.
I really really would like to use my ranger as i was used to, but the most used build are so boring.

I’d like to have spirit ranger back, or a beastmaster build, or even a LB ranger, with a more difficult build, which reward player skill more.

Any class can +1 and kill anyone easily just so you know.
Thief and mediation guardian does the job exactly the same as ranger.
It’s a +1 and you’re SUPPOSE to die, otherwise the game is imbalanced. (I’m talking about 2 v 1, 4 v 3 may be different, but 2 V 1 it’s like 200% manpower. If you can’t win in a 2 v 1 basically you just suck)
