You are mislead. There are more than 5 minis, and the last 4 are only obtainalbe through RNG. No one is complaining about the 5 minis you’re talking about.
Just of curiosity, how’d you get so many minis?
Also, I’m all for letting players sell them, so I can avoid the RNG chests
Please fix the minipets you broke. You, ArenaNet, broke every chance of ever collecting these seasonal minipets without spending a heap of money on RNG chests. Set it right. Lose the RNG. Release in packs if you really have to release things like minipets through the gemstore. Your model for the gemstore is horrible as it is now.
Same, not going to buy RNG stuff. Farming jumping puzzle, in hope of the new mini. Being a collector is kind of ruined with the 3 other minipets though.
To all the replies saying, “Just buy it”. This post was in regards to the drop rate of the bell not in methods to acquire it. I am not complaining because I can not “get” one. I am complaining because the RNG is taken to the extreme recently in this game. It is a continuing and growing trend.
Just take a look at the method they used for mini’s this time around. It is a slap in the face of all collectors out there. They knew certain kinds of people love to collect them so they pilled on the RNG train to get them.
Secondly, the RNG method of acquiring the items is in no way making them more money. The more RNG they add the less and less people will buy. Taking a quick look at the forum will show this. If they had been flat priced mini’s I am sure more people would have bought them than people who gambled for them (but that is speculation). The more RNG they add the more the original Guild Wars base will become increasing frustrated with the direction they are taking.
As a collector i can relate to this. And I can also relate to never ever going to buy any of their “seasonal kitten my-wallet chests”. At halloween we could buy the minis. I’d do that again.
Thanks for the response (I didn’t know you could just overwrite a rune )
And yes, i’ll get through the dungeons, already ran all paths, so I guess I’m started already. CoF transmuted into TA armor it is! – Random last question. If i take the stats from CoF gear, and the looks of TA armor, what will the name of the gear be?
Edit: Nevermind, i figured it out. Just transmuted the first item. Damn TA boots looks ugly without the rest of the set
(edited by Treeline.3865)
Tyr’s set would be the logical choice, I just don’t like the looks.
Sleepy, your idea is also what I ended up with, but it’s a major grind, as i would need both dungeon armors. (But i’d do it) – How do you just “change the runes” though?
Thank you for that!
Well, these test are based in sPvP, people also has to realize that conditions are on their full potential there, critical damage is not
Care to elaborate on that?
This is getting annoying, here is what I came up with:
Twilight Arbor armor set: It has Rampager’s stats, which I cant justify. But this is imo by far really the best looking armor.
CoE, CoF, Arah armor, they all look like kitten to me, although they have the right stats.
Then there’s the named sets. Nika’s Armor has the right stats, but comes with Runes of Infiltration, which I don’t really want.
I used this list to browse armor: http://www.gw2armor.com/human/male/medium_list.php
And yes, I am a human male.
So far it looks like my best shot is to craft the gear myself, and then transmute it into Twilight Arbor armor, but that’s just a major waste to achieve my goal.
What can I do to get a nice looking level 80 exotic set with runes of my choosing?
There may be something I missed.
This might have been what I was looking for; Doesn’t this basically say that
Berserkers > Rampagers
(Crit damage > Condition damage) There’s your hard numbers + the fact that conditions can be removed, although a good amount of toughness of course also increases (but not removes) crit damage.
I’ve been trying to justify going for Twilight Arbor dungeon armor because it has power, precision and condition damage, but it just doesn’t add up to me.
One last note: I have only experienced this once, but a popping sound like the one you described occured to me while running VLC media player while also playing the game. Stopped when i closed VLC.
Sounds like some nasty debugging you are doing there q:
Bumping is not allowed, ( )but I might have a suggestion: If you have sound quality on max, try lowering it one tad. Some people reported that solved it. I have nothing to back it up though.
Treeline, while I agree that they have a point, it’s not 100% certain. A game, or software for that matter can cause your computer to shutdown, without being a hardware problem. Although it’s in 98% a hardware problem, doesn’t mean it’s always a hardware problem.
I tried everything, including disabling all services. Point being is that I got the problem RIGHT after a patch. Would be very strange that I got a hardware problem right after a patch, no?
While I considered it could be a hardware problem, it simple isn’t. I hoped it was.
In my 21 years I have never seen a game crash the entire computer unless a) some odd piece of software interferes with the game (including vira) or b) drivers aren’t updated or c) the hardware is faulty in some way.
While I do study software on University level i’d be happy to be proven wrong.
Edit: Oh and 4) The game causing some component to overheat of course
Have you tried recently? December 3rd fixed the crash issue.
While I do not have a clue what can fix your problems, I’ll just highlight this from Maudlin’s post:
“Keep in mind that if the Laptop is physically shutting down, there is a hardware issue somewhere. When a computer shuts down in this method it’s doing so to protect itself. "
This is the simple truth. You can try ruling things out, but it is the bottom line. GuildWars uses something and something in your computers doesn’t like it. If it was a crash (to the desktop) I’d be crying for a bugfix. Seeing as it is a computer crash.. It is not on their end, sorry. I know this isn’t a solution.
Thanks for this post. Well written and to the point.
Updated your graphics driver?
I clearly stated that it was not a overheating issue. My graphics card does not get any warmer than 59 degrees.
Fair, fair, 90% of people just only check CPU temperature
Edit: But in that case, I’d say it looks like you have been very thorough testing your software. Might be time to check the hardware
Dying is overreaching, but it is definitly losing playerbase:
http://beta.xfire.com/games/gw2 <— Graph here.
(edited by Treeline.3865)
Dungeons definitly. Don’t join any “farming paries” though, that will ruin the experience. Start with Ascalon Catacombs
It’s F2P
No.
Yup. Believe me, if it was P2P it would have way less players than currently
To stay on topic:
… Tybalt.
Ever heard of B2P?
You may threat this as complain because i didint post it in suggestion forum since i strongly doubt anet will change something :<
cheers,
You got that right ^^
8/10. Good job OP
“I just thought she was an Asura!”
I love Guild Wars 2 because it runs so smooth and there is never any bugs.
Could be your graphics card overheating
A “bug”? I have noticed on several occations:
My character keeps walking! And I’ve seen it with others too. Last night in fractals for example, we were waiting for the last guy. He came. He kept walking. Right over the edge. He died. Couldn’t stop his character. I find that it mostly happens when i run and pick something up. Instead of picking up the torch or whatever i just keep walking for a while until I can control my character again.
Anyone else experience not being able to control their character for a second or two?
I have the same problem on Dynaudio laptop speakers (Latest Realtek drivers).
I’ll try the slider.
Edit: Happens in WvW for me.
Without all the crap that people write (Sorry, it’s true).
Windows 8 and Windows 7 perform about equal in gaming with Windows 8 maybe being 1% faster on some points. The difference is minimal, so it is mostly a matter of preference. (Personally i just like Windows 8 because your computer starts up much faster than in Windows 7).
You will want a 64 bit edition in any event.
Whether you get Premium/Pro/Ultimate etc is again a matter of preference. The only difference is a few Windows features you get/don’t get.
Comparison chart for Windows 8: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8_editions
Comparison chart for Windows 7: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions
Just get anything but the starter edition
If i recall they added a few armor skins and weapon skins in the lost shores patch.
How obtainable did you find them to be?
On the 7th day of xmas my soon to be divorced (GW2) gave to meee… another crash to a teammate in fractals, forcing us to start over
Let’s do it till Christmas!
… xDDDDDDDD
Thoughts is that ArenaNet doesn’t listen much to their fanbase, which is why people are getting louder and louder. I’d like to see most of the stuff you mention too.
The forum is full of it, and it is sad. People who did loot the chest get the mails, people like you don’t.
bought a higher spec pc
I agree with OP’s post.
Horrible analogy. An intentional move by parents, not luck. You were probably a brat :P
This chest thing is more like everyone was given a free lottery ticket, everyone wins something, nice things at that. Some won the jackpot. So? it was all a gift sheesh. Some people are never happy.
Didn’t actually happen But yes, definitly an intentional move by the parents/Arenanet. Sooo.. Why was player A/the brother considered a brat, while player B/any person got a precursor?
Sure sounds like some bad parenting to me
xDD
I’ll be the one: You just gave me termal cancer with that.
How so?
Well.. If you can attach a screenshot of you making that face, I’ll take it back
xDD
I’ll be the one: You just gave me cancer with that.
Attended/Looted
It is envy.
It really isn’t. I can be happy for those who got a precursor. But I just don’t want to play a game where luck is deciding how well I do. If i wanted a game based on luck, I’d go play at the local slot machines.
RNG
Mind translating this?
Maxes out at 9/10 mails
= Impossible to get achievement for tooltip.
Only for World Completion.
It isn’t unfair for others getting it, they got lucky.
Ok, I’ll give it a go. No – Luck isn’t unfair as such. But looking at rewards (excluding the bag and karka shell) rewards ranged from around 2g (That was my worth, I was level 80) to minimum 400g (A very few players got 2 precursors).
The problem is that this difference is simply ridiculous. You must understand that some players have been sitting since game release, trying to get the money to get a precursor. I, myself have played since release – I think my total income is around 70g for 4 months of playtime. I’m not trying for a legendary, but I do feel for those who are when they guy next to them just got the item that they worked for for months.
The problem isn’t that someone is luckier than others. The problem is the massive difference between getting 2g and even just 100g. It is too much. Way too much.
It introduces a luck based game. Players are not rewarded for the time they spent. They are rather rewarded for being lucky.
The simple question is then; Is that the kind of game you want to play? I don’t.
Edit: To those using “entitled” as an argument: Most of the players do not feel entitled in any way. I get that it is Anet’s game and they can do with it what they want. But creating a money gap like this is out of proportions. At some point a guy calculated how much real life money it would cost to get some precursor, calculating it into 1000’s of dollars. This is what people randomly got in game. But let’s work with “entitled”
It’s december, let’s say you sit on your butt christmas eve: Your brother gets a car from your parents. You get a new bike. Would you feel a bit butthurt or entitled to a better gift?
(edited by Treeline.3865)
More precursors being handed out?
Consider me butthurt.
Low lvl fractal groups are harder and harder to come by, so you should make fractals by account and not character, it’s dumb i should have to start over when i’ve already got to lvl 5 with another character.
I don’t know about you but I’m not nearly as smart on my Mesmer as I am on my Ranger. So it seems fair that it’s not accountwide. That said we need the rejoin, and they know it. Oh and everything else about fractals is broke too
They have an internal testing team. What may happen too often is that the team goes in to test a patch, they only observe for the specified bug(s) and don’t notice that a new one popped up nearby.
Just a theory.
I have another. They have a bugfixing team. If they don’t introduce new bugs every patch they will be out of a job soon. Seems that way anyways.
Aand another one just dc’d too, in Fractals.
This is on your end, Anet.
Edit; No AVG, No Netflix, nothing suspicious on my end.
