believe me ranger is not glass canon and is painful cause most damage is contributed by pet.

You’re doing somthing wrong then. As a glass cannon Shortbow ranger my pet often don’t reach my target before it’s dead. A shortbow build with Power/Precision/Crit can easily give you 60% critchance – Combine this with bleed on crit and you have some solid damage.

This said, I don’t think ranger reaches the highest dps.

I looted some rings and backpieces from Fractals.

- Bring up the map by pressing M
- In the lower left corner you will see a small eye. Click it.
- Tick whatever you want the map to show.
- Close the map and have a nice day

I think this sort of infinite farming, without time limit like dailies, should be removed. Unlimited salvaging points can destroy low level economy by its side-effects. I know people who bought a lot of low level gears from tradepost to just salvage them, thus causing prices of some low level gears to rise steeply because of less options and supply drops heavily when most players are already high levels. Imagine a lot more people trying to do this to obtain more achievement points, especially when the inflation is growing immensely now. It is going to destroy a lot of balances in the world.

I’m guilty of this. Wanted to finish my monthly, so bought up 300 pieces of kitteny gear. There should be no achievement for salvaging :/

This actually sounds very decent. I never considered going in heavy on condition damage, and it actually helps me survive too. While i love having the extra power and some of the traits from it, I’d really like to hear what traits you picked in Wilderness Survival, and why?

I never realized the 5 into Beastmastery gave double attack speed, thought it was movespeed only.. This is actually quite awesome too, I will definitly consider that one too.

Edit; Then again, removing power traits also takes 30% duration off the conditions :/

Hi there. I need some advice from you awesome players, as to what I can build to help myself a bit in dungeons and especially FotM.

Currently (I don’t have entirely awesome exotics, but it’s getting close) I am running the standard “I want to kill everything” which is great for rushing through PvE generel. I’m starting to have a hard time in FotM though. I run Power, Precision and Crit on my gear, and have 30/30/10/0/0 traits focused on damage too.
While I sure hit like a truck with my shortbow, I have 2 issues.

1) What should my alternative weapon be? Longbow is useless most of the time in my experience, I hear that Greatsword is bad on a ranger, which leaves me with sword + warhorn or torch? Warhorn has nice buffs, but torch gives the option to use combo field. Not sure how to pick one over the other?

2) I’m starting to die some in Fractals. Sometimes it is because I don’t get my party, sometimes because I mess up. I think what I need here is some kind of emergency save when i mess up, but I would really like some suggestions here as to what I can do? Only thing that jumps to mind is the skill with 6 seconds of invulnerability to my pet, which i can trait to work for me too. Any other ideas please?

Are you sure you don’t have some kind of debuff like poison or bleeding on? I often just have my pet “keep me alive”, meaning I don’t die from bleeds/poison whatever, but the HP stands still because my pet can’t outheal it. Sometimes it can also look like your pet is down, when you in fact go to use “3” on a pet with 1% hp which then immediatly dies and therefore just stands there.

Not saying it’s any of these, just ruling it out for you

Edited my first post. This thread can be locked, but I would really recommend putting it in patch notes that you “Fixed a crash issue in Uncategorized Fractal”

There were several crash fixes (client and server) in this build, including 3 server crashes in the Fractals. There was also a client crash related to armor repairing while transformed that was common in the Fractals which has also been fixed.

2 weeks ago, give a little a lot of players reported perfectly reproducable crashes in Uncategorized Fractal, always at the same spot. (12th step up the jumping puzzle i think)

THIS HAS BEEN FIXED!
It doesn’t clearly say so in patch notes, but I just tested it myself. Thanks for the fix on this, as it was blocking progress entirely.

Many players crash at that fractal, at one exact spot. Still waiting to hear anything.

It must be bad luck. I did around 30 fractals, I looted 2 off random mobs so far.

As title says, I completed a path in Twilight Arbor, only to miss out on my 60 tokens (Any refund, Anet? ) The other 4 in my party recieved their reward. Furthermore, while I got the achievement, my monthly dungeon participation didn’t tick +1 either. I believe this was the “Up” path.

I got “information” when i sent a ticket. They confirmed it didn’t look like it was my end. I sent them some crash files (Just a lot of data and stuff), and still waiting to hear about any fix…

There has already been threads about this. I have the same issue, others do too – Far from all though. Still waiting for a bugfix.

While you have some decent arguments, you kind of ruined it when you called the rest of us unreasonable. Thank you for that.

Lion’s Arch is not the problem. I’m having the same issue just logging in to the character select screen and also with characters in other zones besides Lion’s Arch.

So because you have other issues, it can’t be limited to LA for some of us?

An to the OP, try reinstalling GW2 you may have some currupted files that need to be repaired that are causing you to crash.

Or just use the “-repair” argument :/

As a collector I recognize your issues. I do like to collect the minipets, but they brought that out of proportions last weekend adding the exotic minipets for the weekend. If a collector wasn’t online that weekend then what?

I do like that there is a LOT of ahievements. Really. But the achievement point are useless because the potential amount of points are infinite. These should only be gained from one-time achievements – i.e. not daily, monthly, forever salvaging and stuff like that.

FotM is the way to go for the elitist types.

Elitists isn’t the same as grinders. If you ask a lot of “elitists” I think you’d find they rather want challenging gameplay.

Nobody should convince you, true, but not bothering.. Well not all of us are that ignorant.

Anyways, while your conclusions sound right to me, here’s the key points you are looking for:

Ascended gear will be available in more ways that should be less grindy soon – What these ways are, I don’t know, but it includes WvW. So if you can resist the urge to grind, there might be a solution soon.

They are also currently working on the empty maps, so that content will be more relevant again, and they did acknowledge that it was a mistake to place fractals in LA because this reduced traffic to the rest of the world.

I am with you on your points though. Why do I still play? Well, I still enjoy the game. I don’t like all their decisions, but so far the great game they released still shines over the bad stuff that was added.

Just recieved response for support after telling them about the crash, and this is now recognizes as not being on our end – I have sent logs, computer statistics, crash info etc to them now per request. Hope they solve it soon.

I’m running a fresh install of Windows 8 (x64) – Updated driver etc etc. Same issue as you people.

I can confirm this, and several players ingame is aware too. I am looking to do the final (i believe) quest too

Sindarin, you simply misunderstood the way it is setup. In order to get credit to level up you need to do a setup of 3 random fractals and possibly the Jade Sea one as you described. Had you finished this one, you would have been on to level 2 (By being returned to the “lobby” you first arrived in. Sorry you left, and I can understand the frustration.

Update: I have run the game with the “repair” argument. It did not solve the crash.
I am without a clue.

One thing i would try before ruling it out though, is checking all the GW2 data consistency, but I do not know if there is any way of doing this.

Edit: Found out about the -repair argument. Will update later if it changes anything.

No offense but, Ive never once had it crash in fractals. This sounds like a bad driver or memory kitten out. I have a 6850 myself by the way. I’d check your memory/cpu usage in game, otherwise somethings corrupt or hampering the game itself.

No offense, but I’ve heard 3 occurences of the same crash in the same fractal, and since the bug occured the first time i did update/reinstall drivers.

This is a great post OP. I really hope they will give you the feedback you deserve to this.

A certain fractal starting with a jumping puzzle and harpies causes me and a few others to crash every time. The crash is 100% guaranteed and I know exactly where it is. Once you reach the right platform, the game will crash midjump. And there is no way around it. I even had a mesmer try and portal me to the top. It still crashes.

I do not crash normally, this is about the only place in the game I have crashed since early beta.

I am running the game on:

MSI GX660 laptop with
- Intel core i5-460M
- 4GB DDR3 SODIMM ram
- ATI Radeon HD 5870 (1GB DDR5)
- 1920×1080 resolution
- Latest non-beta drivers.

The bug will occur no matter my graphics settings ingame.

For this specific game I would reccommend upgrading your CPU. GuildWars 2 doesn’t utilize your Graphics Card much, as it is badly optimized and therefore relying heavily on the CPU.

That said upgrading with your current setup is a bit of a luxury problem

It’s practically the same if you don’t play. A.net support is working on serious tickets, they won’t ban you for no reason. Not only is it pointless, it takes away time from actual honest good work so in that regard you are trying to clogg support for people who need it. Doesn’t that depend on your desired outcome? If OP wants to show ArenaNet their amount of registered accounts are dropping, it is very valid to request that the account be gone.

Your method is a fallacy. You can’t assume that people for example have plenty of time, likes the new dungeon and is happy with the game.

I’m halfway A. I have plenty of time, I LOVE the new dungeon. I hate the reason i should do it, but I’m doing it because I like the dungeon itself. And I am not happy with the current state of the game.
