I remember back in the day when shooters didn’t use ASWD keys, but the arrow keys.
When someone finally did ASWD, it was amazing.
Click to move in a game that depends so much on mobility would be a nightmare, especially if you try and factor dodge into the situation as well. Yes, I know you can click on the yellow bar but it’s pretty small (I actually preferred the bar from BWE1).
TBH, it sounds like a complete rehashing of the movement system.
BLCs are a mixed bag to say the least, but not worth it…if there was something worthwhile inside instead of endless transformation potions, maybe. Like a chance for a fine transmutation stone or something?
…wow, that’s awful. Funny as hell, but pretty awful. This is the kind of stuff that’ll cripple WvW, really needs sorting soon.
Friggin’ bots…
The rum is gone!?
I feel complete open world PvP would be a little redundant seeing as there aren’t any opposing factions in the game.
If there was an area or two if we got a situation like Factions where you choose a side/house/bananashack to back as a guild, and you can enter the PvP zones to duke it out…it could work, but it’d kind of just boil down to sPvP.
I don’t think world PvP would work, both in terms of lore and in terms of not breaking the game. Dueling would be cool at some point though.
The Minstrel in LOTRO was essentially the healer though, even if Runekeepers could spec healing I saw very few.
I think that if something was introduced like this it’d have to be similar in play style to a condition build necro. And be called a spoony bard.
TBH, the whole ‘skirt’ thing does annoy me a little bit, but I’m sure as I level up on my guardian (only 30 atm) I’ll find some legs, just like medium doesn’t get longcoats til 20ish.
That sounds like a really cool idea.
Also, the final special boss needs to be Dhuum.
I’m honestly torn between the two sides. I cannot stress how much it infuriatekittenoing round WvWvW to pick up these pois/sp/vistas (thankfully I’ve got Stonemist, so that’s a start), but if you want 100% completion…well, 100% isn’t it.
I find it amusing that people will ‘troll’ by waiting til you get near then WPing, seeing as it costs to WP when you’re dead.
Thanks for the explanation Jon. When DR was initially introduced there was a post saying it was bugged.
The problem is that nothing becomes cheap if you get rid of DR. People who farm have the money will raise the prices for players who play more casually (best word I could think of) and they’ll be priced out of the market. You only have to look at the micro-economy of pre-legendaries to see this in effect. 99% of players won’t be able to afford the 120g or whatever it is for Dusk.
Not for me, thanks.
EDIT: That idea above me actually sounds quite cool.
TBH, it’s game drop off. It happens, because you will lose some of the launch population.
At this point, most of SWTOR’s servers were medium AT BEST.
Logan Thackeray.

Hells yes.
I can appreciate people who’ve sunk 300 hours into the game and getting bored with it. Christ, I love Half Life 2 but I’d go crazy playing it for 300 hours. This game has an absolute ton of content and it’ll keep me going for months.
Maybe you’re just really pretty?
But no, there’s no real tanks in the game. The whole idea of tanking is that you soak up damage while a squishy heals you. Everyone will draw aggro and you’ve got to move.
I have no idea why they flock to you though.
I would like to see this actually
@Sefan, I’m sick of people like you holding the developers to ransom with “DO THIS OR I QUIT” ridiculous attitude.
I think the PvP modes suggested would be great, especially if CTF is implemented better than Huttball was in SWTOR.
Oh good lord, no.
Can you just imagine the amount of misuse from money sellers, general trolls and of course ‘champ is up’ without any localisation.
AFAIK, cloaks/capes are coming to the game in an update, as are guild halls.
Hopefully cosmetic backpieces will come in too, quivers for rangers!
They are different.
The downed player is the little inverted triangle, and the defeated player is the blue skull and cross bones in the black circle.
To be honest, I haven’t used them on my Ranger. The only one I use is Rampage as One.
Use the elite root skill. Hilarious fun and massive damage.
This annoys the crap out of me, but I can see that it is an extra challenge to get them. Although, putting skill points you need deep in enemy territory is a bit silly I think.
The only advice I can really give is to jump on WvW every day and see if there’s anything your server have that you don’t own. I popped on and by sheer chance we held Stonemist Castle.
BRING BACK point-click for movement [like in Guild Wars 1]...

Point clicking drove me insane in GW1.
I know it’s not a great help for your current situation, but if you’re serious about MMOs you should have a look at something like the Razer Naga or similar with a numberpad on the side.
You will never top Mauriche LaMarche as Vekk, he was awesome.
To be honest, my only real disappointment with the voice acting is that the Norn are red, white and blue American…they should sound Scandinavian. At the very least, like Jora.
There’s a few lines that are a bit odd, but unlike Dragon Age the good vastly outweighs the bad.
Playing the game for fun.
Radical concept, I know.
^
I’m still having a blast. Working on my exploration title and finishing my personal story…although waiting for Fort Trinity to be fixed.
GW1 dungeons were somewhere between challenging and nightmarish when they were added on EotN (I think?). Slaver’s Exile was just horrifyingly hard for me.
As someone said up above, you needed a specific makeup of team more often than not to get through it, usually involving 2 monks or the necro trinity.
I’ve got about 1.5g at the moment, but I’ve bought quite a bit of stuff I regret…half of the T2 cultural set for one…
Great video guys, good to see people who know their combo fields/classes.
They do more damage if you’re a moving target…
It could’ve been goty
but anet decided to cater casuals and ended up catering mongoloids.
Making it easier by making dungeons harder? Wut?
ATM, out of the handful of new games I’ve played this year it’s the best but by no means perfect. At the moment my vote goes to Black Mesa Source.
What serious games does it have to contend with? ME3 I loved every moment until the elevator took you up to the kid, and D3 was…well…
I honestly don’t see why this will ever be implemented. You created your character, if you weren’t happy with it you shouldn’t have clicked ‘play’.
I don’t have an issue with stuff you could realistically change like hair, but I don’t see why face/names will ever warrant being changed.
I really want the dungeons to be challenging. The first few times I did dungeons they kicked mykitten but I learned more about my class and got better.
Harder =/= more HP/damage from mobs. It’s just frustrating.
Utility skills to do what, exactly? Break fear on my entire party? You’ll be telling me to dodge next, aleiro. Come on, seriously be constructive.
Thanks for the advice about the snipers, though. Hadn’t realised they also did more damage to moving targets like the sergeants. Problem is that once you’re down you’ve not got a chance in hell.
We finished the dungeon, but I had a 15s repair bill and got 3s and 22k xp for my trouble. Like someone in another thread said, I’m out of dungeons until this is balanced. I really like CM, but it’s just not worth it right now.
I’m not saying they spam it over and over. It’s each mob using their fear once that does us in.
We call a target, bam we’re feared. We run off the fear, resume attacking. BAM. Feared again. Clearing the trash first is the only way to go before the silvers, and we got through it eventually.
Dungeon rewards are still broken, got 3s25c for CM reward.
Every single dog has the fear ability. You can’t pop it every one of 10 dogs fears your team.
Trash mobs have WAY too much HEALTH at the moment. My friends and I refuse to step foot in another explore-able dungeon until it’s re-balanced.
This.
Everything else is great in my opinion…
+1. 1 shotting snipers could use a look at.
Also, what’s with each hound being able to fear? That’s a instant wipe!
Before you say “oh, learn to play” please read my post.
Being targeted by the snipers near Myra Kindleshot is unavoidable. You’re knocked down in one hit and then swiftly defeated. I want a challenge but this is just an arbitrary kittenchallenge that burns through your wallet. I dodge, use heals and work as a team with my friends.
Please, sort it out. Add more champions, whatever you want. But this is completely unfair for a party to be decimated over and over like this.
Give players the power and responsibility to ban gold sellers

First of all, policing the game is the responsibility of Anet, not the players. Our responsibility is to report any infractions we see.
Secondly, no player EVER, in ANY game, should have that power.
Changing orders would render the middle portion of your personal story completely redundant. I get that you want the armour but if you switch orders before Forging the Pact it’s completely game-breaking from a story point of view.
I wouldn’t want the option in the game. Would having your Guardian in one of the others really be the end of the world?
Had anyone run it previously that day?
After EVERYTHING about legendaries and the countless discussions about skins, how do people still not realise that the top tier ridiculous kitten like this is purely for a cosmetic look?
Anet most likely know the stats are crap. It’s the skin that they want people to go for and transmute it, it’s a proper endgame skin. People whine about the endgame lacking, come back when you can afford T3.
S h a g = to have sex.
Just like the guy who didn’t realise that Circle Jerk is offensive because it’s a group of blokes in a circle knockin’ each other off.
Eo, some people have more money than sense. It wouldn’t surprise me.
kitten hell.
I give up on these forums. I wanted a nice new gaming community but all I seem to find is idiot threads when you KNOW (and don’t for one second cry ignorance) that this isn’t how it’s supposed to work and cry when a mechanic is fixed because you’re taking thekitten
Jesus Christ in a birch bark canoe.
It’d be a nice touch for sure, but I assume it’s the party leader who appears in the cut scenes like GW1.
Skills should be captured +1
