THERE’S A WOOD NODE?

Materials Storage - Please Add

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tyger.1637

Tyger.1637

Please add the following to Materials Storage:
Blood Rubies
Petrified wood
Fresh Winterberries

Maybe the following should be added as well:
Frostbitten Suet
Cold-resistant eggshells
Grawl Firestone

Thanks.

Rubies wood and winterberries are not crafting materials, they are a currency. They have no place in the crafting material storage.

When will people get this simple fact through their heads?

Shows how much you’ve done the new map; Winterberries ARE a crafting material. The Quaggan farmers sell four recipes each of which uses Winterberries as an ingredient.

And they were SUGGESTIONS; Anet will decide if they go into materials not you.

Poll to remove Daily Achivement Cap?

Tyger.1637

As I see it now, I have about 5 months left till the cap, and then anet doesn’t want me here anymore.

Way I see it, ANet wants people to actually do something in this game instead of play for 5 minutes and get 10 more AP.

And this is EXACTLY why THE CAP WILL STAY.

I checked on my cap today and I’ll top it off next year around Mad King’s or maybe Wintersday 2017. Rather poetic as it’ll be almost my 5th year in-game which is how long it takes a new player to reach the cap if they started doing dailies now.

On the flipside; if AP was unlimited then Anet would also get stuck with making another set of skins that have to be prestigious enough to warrant getting massive amounts of AP but not so prestigious that players feel so marose that they’ll never get them in any reasonable amount of time investment.

Atm there’s two themed armour sets that have been rationed so it takes 42000 AP to collect both sets but the second set of AP weapon skins is a ley-crystal version of the Zenith skins. I’d rather see it put towards more regional skins or obtainable via in-game activities than an AP which most of us won’t see for another 5 years.

What's Missing from Material Storage?

Blade Shards – yay for storage, bonus to expectations.

On a side-note: bringing back the Zephyr vendor that took them would also be nice for peeps who have ‘too many’ Blade Shards especially as they still drop from the Watchwork node and the only use for them is for the Spinal Blade backpacks (different team, nudge-nudge, wink-wink). And until the LS1 comes back and/or another supply of Assault Cores enters the game; I don’t think they need a slot of their own. If people have that many cores they can start selling them off or make use of the bankspace they’re squirrelling them away for their rainy day funds.

So this is my thinking behind my choices and what I presume is the thinking here: it’s more common items that we potentially can utilise.

Scribing stuff:

  • Crystalline Bottle
  • Milling Basin
  • Bag of Mortar
Most of the other vendor-sold components get a slot like Jug of Water, Primordium, Spools of Thread, etc. get a slot so these should too for definite. I’d also like:
    *Tub of Wood Glue
    *Bolt of Embroidered Silk

.. which are sold by the guild trader (and on TP) but it would be nice to save them up for later usage. Obviously might affect their worth on the TP.

Outside desire: the rare trophies:

  • Lumber Cores: Alpine, Arid, Ascalonian, Coastal, Palm and Krytan
  • Feldspar Core
  • Lamp Finial
  • Essence of Light and Essence of Elegence
  • Giant Mushroom Spore
  • Rare Flower Seed and Jungle Grass Seed
  • Auric Crown
  • Pristine Feather
  • Festive Transom
  • Pruning Shears
  • Visages of Balthazar, Lyssa, Melandru, Dwayna, Grenth, Kormir
  • Ascalonian Blueprints

Pipe-dream level of storage solution as they take up space and if they drop for newer scribes it’d be nice to have the storage be dynamic.

Super Adventure Box:

  • Baubles
  • Bauable Bubbles

Miscellaneous:

  • Blood Ruby
  • Petrified Wood
  • Any future map currencies
  • Doubloons: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
  • Medallions, Crests and Amalgamated Gemstones
  • Shimmering/Tenebrous Crystals

[SUG] Add Gift of Heroes to Hero Weapon Track

in WvW

Posted by: Tyger.1637

Tyger.1637

RE: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Heroes

Since there’s no other way to get it unless you have a few (200) tournament tickets leftover; how about adding it as another choice to the Hero Weapon track End Chest so we can upgrade the rare Hero weapons to their Mistforged counterparts with the existing Mystic Forge recipe?

The logic behind my thinking is that:

  • You have to fill the track to get the chest so that means doing WvW and/or associated dailies
  • The Gift of Battle has a full track that needs to be completed
  • Mist Core Fragments come with the Glorious Chest in addition to being another choice on the armour side of it.

Tyger.1637

why should there be a reward for people with XP who haven’t completed their masteries?

Because it slowly unravels the tapestry they’re trying to create.

I’m going to challenge that; so IIRC, you saying that if you don’t get something for your XP once you ‘top level’, the game offers nothing to you that makes it interesting enough to play at level 80 to unravel its tapestry? Well, I can only think that’s a very exceptional player that views XP in this manner; there are ALL kinds of reasons to continuing unraveling that tapestry at level 80, other than gaining XP. In fact, I think gaining XP is such an inconsequential reward in this game, it hardly goes noticed when you get it, even while leveling. It’s basically thrown at you. I click a bloodstone stalagtite and get some 5 figures XP gain or something ridiculous like that … it’s participation rewards … it seems silly to insist we get some tangible reward for the continuous flood of XP obtained from doing anything in this game.

MAYBE if XP was not so freely given away, there would be a sensible reward item to attach to it.

Well done for clipping everything after my quote, strawmanning and making exactly the point I was making. I said I played my 80s less in Tyria, not stopped altogether:

Now I used to be a City player so I’m used to finding value elsewhere; I was a shameless AE powerleveller that could generate tickets at full bore every run-through when my maxed character who wouldn’t earn xp took equals and sidekicks in with them. But my farmer could still earn influence and prestige even if they didn’t earn XP.

So no, I do find other value.

The point is that it’s one less thing we get and makes several other connected things redundant; less reason to make or use food (sorry, chefs), XP scrolls have almost no draw (but at least we can turn them into Tomes and use to get Spirit Shards), auto-consume scrolls ‘go to waste’ and all these XP boosters are useless to our 80s. At the extreme example of players who have 80s, no more slots and no interest in doing 1-80 again that’s pulling at a thread that you really don’t want to pull at.

And if raiding is an optional exercise then either that raid masteries should be open should I decide later to do them or they should not be included as part of the region masteries because right now; I’m forced to do that, forced to do adventures, forced to go where I might not want to be and that is the exact opposite of ‘play how you want’.

Tyger.1637

why should there be a reward for people with XP who haven’t completed their masteries?

Because it slowly unravels the tapestry they’re trying to create.

When Masteries launched I had enough to unlock most of the Tyrian ones with XP-gain the only block to finishing them until, ah heck, I ran out of points so my Tyrian Masteries have been halted since that time. Now the side-effect from that is that firstly; I use my 80s less in Tyrian territory because there’s still my Magus Masteries that need levelling and secondly; xp boosters of all kinds (chests, scrolls, food) have less value in Tyria.

Recently, thanks to the release of Bloodstone Fen, Magus XP has been flooding in and, oopsie, I’ve run out of points again. Until they’re completed; all kinds of XP boost are useless which means focusing on non-80 characters, which I have plenty of, and frustrating myself trying and failing to do adventures which are either based off activities I already despise like Jumping Puzzles or Races OR hanging around HoT maps waiting for the next rotation of Dragon’s Stand or Tangled Depths to come around and hope there’s enough people to do it.

So, for example, I no longer need to go to Bloodstone Fen (except it’s the main source of unbound magic and blood rubies), I no longer need to go anywhere with my 80s (except to try and unlock specific mastery points that I haven’t got yet) and less reason to hit 80 because progress is halted (again, back to finding alternative values) and any potential progress is ‘lost’. The lifeblood of most, if not all, MMOs is the grind and anything that shines a light on it not being there is bad for longevity.

I mean tonight I just decided not to go Bloodstone Fen frustrated by the lack of mastery points and the need to do very specific events to unlock them; I just closed down the client and decided to do other stuff instead. I mean I’ll do it later when I’m feeling less perturbed (mainly by the assumptions in mapchat that everyone knows everything about everything about HoT).

Shared Inventory Slot [Merged]

Tyger.1637

Overall; I like that it’s free.

Mainly it’s annoying because I like to get the bang for my buck and keep things as even as possible so I could buy 4 but then I’d feel like I was cheating myself by not buying the 5-pack.

A solution would be to increase by 4 more next time and either have a 4 pack for the equivalent cost-per of the 5 pack or discount the 1 slot so buying a three pack as well doesn’t hit the gems of anyone wanting to fill out to 15 slots. A half-price discount on 1 slot to 350gem (2800 gem for 5 slots = 560gem per slot, 2800-560 = 2240gem for 4 slots at 5pack price-per, 2240-1890 = 350 4 slot price-per minus 3 pack price) would give everyone a more reasonable shot at an extra slot too if they can’t afford to bulk-buy the big packs and let the big buyers satiate their ordered mindsets

Thanks Gaile

Hoorah for the people that wanted the wizard hat back! I’m just glad they haven’t caved in and brought back the witch hat although that was strictly a hallow’s reward, same for the title. And yes those of us who have all the season 1 stuff are special snowflakes because we were there (the reasons) others weren’t doesn’t matter Besides those and wings (shatterer and sunless) weren’t cash shop items anyway. GAME ON

And the Toxic Gloves, shoulders, Scarlet’s Spaulders and gloves were also gemstore-only and most of the LS1 rewards have become Laurel and Mordrem Bloom (and previously festival/gauntlet/Zephyrite) rewards. And when they get it all fixed; the LS1 stuff may be the meta-AP rewards. The Aetherblade weapons have also gone from a Black Lion skins set to a drop in Fractals. Things change, as this thread has shown, and stuff coming back should be a regular thing.

Double check with the wiki. Some are part of another collection. Or at least one item I had to take and talk to give it to someone else for another collection.

Advanced Spinal Blades....soulbound

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Tyger.1637

Tyger.1637

I’m trying to convert this to a Tempered Spinal Blade. The thing is that its soul bound to a character that only has 500 crafting in huntsman, not tailor, leatherwork, or armorsmith that apparently you need to be to do this.

If I try to use the mystic forge with a character that is level 500 in tailor, leatherwork, or armorsmith, it won’t let me because its soul bound to the character that is not.

Since my advanced spinal blade is soul bound to my huntsman only character, what if anything can be done????….. and no it has not been transmuted.

I would really appreciate any help here as to what might be done short of starting all over.

I have searched here and elsewhere about this and have found no clear answer. I did find some information that said if you upgrade it, it will become account bound, but try as I might, it won’t let me upgrade.

Because:

I would guess you are missing the Gift of Blades, the recipe can be bought from the Mystic Forge attendant just make sure you buy the right recipe for the crafting discipline you want to use, atm I think Armorsmith is the cheapest way to go.

The Gift of Blades (like the Blade Shards and Vision Crystal) are all accountbound ingredients.

You can craft them on Tailor, Armorsmith or Leatherworker, whichever version of the recipe you have purchased, and put these items in your personal bank.

The character with the Soulbound Advanced Blades can then pick these up and throw all of them in the Mystic Forge resulting in the Ascended Tempered Blades being spat out as Accountbound.

I made the same mistake by opening the box on my main for Bifrost 1 because I thought I’d get the recipes as consumables not auto-consumed (my main is not an Artificer).

THANKFULLY; you can rebuy the recipe box from the Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs for 10K karma under the ‘First Collection Chests’ tab (fifth one down in his vendor window). The chests are all accountbound so you can either buy it on the right guy or pop it in the bank for the right one to pick up.

Actually I can see the point with the Portal Stone since replacements are freely available from the Skritt in the Bandit’s den due to old alts not receiving them after people upgraded to the Deluxe edition. And since the HoM skins are put into the wardrobe, free to apply and the Stones themselves are accountbound; I don’t think they, specifically, need to be protected anymore.

All other items of particular value should remain type-to-delete for the very reasons stated above: to prevent calims of accidental deletion. It’s a great failsafe for both Arenanet and players.

So it leads me to believe one of two things:
1) there will be a mastery of some kind in the future that will allow for self-resurrection
2) There was enough complaints that ‘my powers don’t work when I’m DEAD’ that even though the entire tray has disappeared because some people can’t comprehend that being dead means no abilities.

I hope its the former but I suspect it’s the latter.

Gathering. Specifically mid-tier mats like Iron and Platinum, and herbs, and Hard Wood. An hour through Sparkfly Fen which has only Hard Wood and Platinum nodes can net anywhere from 2-4g an hour depending on how zealously you get through it and the prices of the day are. Then zone out to Heart of the Mists or native borderland, pop it on the TP and -Exit the Mists- to pop right back.

On a good day I could make 7g in a couple of hours basically just running around and getting into the occasional fight when a creature looked at me funny. It’s also something you can do (99.9%) solo or drop at a moment’s notice.

Shove them on one mule, 20 slots free and upgradable to at least 40 very cheaply (5 slot coloured bags are minimum vendor value) or 100 at greater expense else:
4) DESTROY
If you’re getting a constant stream of them and not doing 1 or 2 just destroy a stack or two to free up space. Plenty more will roll in, right?

These mats are only used to make; Mawdrey parts, Ascended mats and in Bloodstone’s case; miscellaneous boosters. Use them or toss them.

[Suggestion] Accountbound WvW items

disclaimer: I have 3500 badges left after this kinda-mistake so it’s no big

Just bought a light skin for big spender on my heavy armour 80 and missed the part about it being soulbound on aquire (warning message was good, reading fail on my part).

But since all the other stuff about WvW was turned accountbound; how about letting the WvW vendors sell accountbound on aquire instead of soulbound on aquire?
