The Secksy Monk [Guild Wars 1]
Stormbluff Isle – Storm Slayer Dragons [SDS]
…I always try to interfere when i see a GvG…
raises eyebrow
If they’re just having fun and doing their own thing, why does it involve you as to what they’re doing?
I don’t get it.
I can’t think of a situation where changing a rune on the same type of armor would really be all the beneficial. I’m a fan of the system as it stands, if I’m honest.
Bubbles is kind of a jerk, you know?

Lot of big talk from a tiny mouse.
Why buy outside the game, can you find them cheaper?
Not everyone has a debit/credit card.
Use paysafe, that works pretty good and you get it almost everywhere. Works simple. You buy a certain value…lets say 50 bucks (you can buy less and more too), you get a code, you go to https://www.paysafecard.com, make an account, type in the code you get and you got credit as much as you bought. Then you go into the gemstore where you buy more gems, select paysafe as your form of payment, follow the steps that direct you to your paysafe account…where you may or may not need to log in again and just click “pay”. A-net gets the payment and you instantly get your gems. I started using that cause also my gamestop does not sell gemcards anymore…and im actually more happy with that system cause you can use it on many other sides too and you dont need any bank data or credit card to do it… just hard cash
Orrrrr…. you can go get a gem card.
Can someone remove the 25 Stacks of Confusion I got after reading OP’s Post.
LOL! At least you only got 25 stacks of confusion. I got that, plus 20 stacks of bewilderment after reading the initial post in this thread.
I’m stunned without any stability skills equipped. Send help.
Kormir 2.0, tbh

As a Game Stop employee, stores, at least in my district, no longer carry them.
Is it really that inconvenient?
I would hope for a toxic spore node in home instances, then. :X
I can’t see this working out favorably for ANet or for the community.
what made it difficult in Guild Wars 1 was the amount of skills we had access to, we don’t have anywhere near the amount of skills we had in GW1. Will there be builds made that are completely broken? Yes absolutely. Will they need to be balanced? Yes absolutely. Will it improve the game? Yes absolutely. Should A-Net be focused on improving the game? Yes absolutely.
It’s your single opinion that it would improve the game. I’m trying to tell you that I disagree with you.
I’m not attacking you, just having a conversation.
“Plus, can you imagine if all professions could stealth? Teleport? Make portals/reflect barriers?”
Honestly this wouldn’t be a problem, stealth is fragile as it is and if you’ve ever played a Mesmer or a thief the stealth mechanics for both of those classes are designed in such a way where to get any real stealth duration you have to trait into it, depriving you of real combat oriented opportunities in other traits. Teleports and reflect barriers are limited to each profession, you wont have every teleport in the game and you wont have every reflect barrier in the game and it deprives you of real combat oriented opportunities with regard to other skills
You underestimate the power of player ingenuity and creativity.
I can name several builds off the top of my head in GW1 that made dual professions difficult to manage. It’s a fun idea, and GW1 was designed for it.
I get where you’re coming from, I do. But GW2 was not designed with dual professions in mind, and the entire skills system and traits would need to be reworked (again!) in order for it to work. I’d rather they focus on more important things, don’t you?
My computer isn’t particularly beefy, but I never feel the need to lower my settings. I lose frames from all the skill and particle effects, but not enough that I actually lose track of what’s happening/nor does it give me any crash bugs.
tl;dr: Nope.
To be honest, in my opinion, both are pretty on par with each other. I use a Sword/Focus + Staff burn build on my guardian and he does just fine. Hammer + Longbow CC on my warrior doesn’t really struggle all that much either, and is useful against bunker builds.
Then again I main both classes so perhaps I’m biased.
not everything would need rebalancing, it wouldn’t be hard to balance the small things that would need balance, id like to see what happens with enacting this with everything just the way it is, small changes would be needed but it would really make the game A LOT more interesting
I don’t think you quite understand how balancing works. Plus, a massive rework like this would take huge resources to do.
Plus, can you imagine if all professions could stealth? Teleport? Make portals/reflect barriers?
No. This should not happen.
Saving builds I can agree with, and while I do miss the dual class system, it would wreak havoc on the skill system. Every single thing would need reworking and rebalancing, which is precisely why ANet dropped the dual class system in the first place.
EDIT: And don’t even get me started on what would happen to the trait system.
What is the title, anyway? I can’t seem to find it on my list.
I’m sure they will! Always remember that betas aren’t finished products. ANet has always been good about these sorts of things.
We all knew it was Glint, but I’m still sulking that Rurik didn’t end up being one of the legends. Missed opportunity, that.
yet. the framework’s there, we could see rurik in the future. also doesn’t exclude him from showing up in the story.
Future isn’t now.

Most major releases are on Thursdays (at least NA) for most publishers. Unless you’re Nintendo, who are special snowflakes. They like Sundays.
Anyway, I believe those dates are coincidence. I’m questioning if it’s even this year.
I want this outfit. It looks amazing on norn.
I admittedly miss the old dailies. Daily Gatherer ~ Always remember
Head: Dragon Mask
Shoulders: Lawless Shoulder
Chest: Platemail
Hands: Lawless Gauntlets
Legs: Platemail
Feet: Lawless Boots
rar
While I dream of one day being a tengu, I’ve resigned myself that it will probably never happen.
I had fun the moment I unlocked it.
The only one who fits the bill is Glint, who was Kralkatorik’s champion, who have been on Tyria since before the Gods emerged from the mists.
I’m just happy that the day/night cycle is more than just cosmetic now. >_>

Another one of these threads?
Guardian main since launch of GW2, the Dragon Hunter in its current state is completely useless. Dragon Hunter is a massive nerf to this profession. There is zero reason to use the Longbow, there is zero reason to use traps, and there is zero reason to use the traits.
- New Virtues need to be instant, no cast-time. Spear of Justice has to work with the Virtue trait lines or that entire trait line i useless to Dragon Hunters.
- Longbow 1 needs to be much faster and hit harder, Longbow 2 needs to not root you in place, Longbow 3 needs a complete redesign the range attack absorb is a horrible gimmick, Longbow 4 needs to fire faster and fire behind us, Longbow 5 needs to apply the fence at the start not the end of the cast.
- Traps need to be changed to Wells, or at the very least make them ground targetable. Traps are useless at ranged, they work okay with melee weapon like Hammer.
-Dragon Hunter traits are terrible and need a redesign from the ground up, not a single good thing about them.
Currently Dragon Hunter is useless. I am shocked this even made Alpha testing it is that bad.
You’re being crazy harsh on a profession still in beta. While it needs help, I feel like Dragonhunter is super fun to play despite its low damage potential, and I disagree with the traps comment. I’ve been having no trouble using them with range since you can’t exactly keep targets on your melee people in the party anyway. I, personally, see nothing wrong with the virtues as they are except for Spear of Justice, which doesn’t really do anything quite spectacular. The traits are admittedly hit or miss.
One thing that I’ve noticed on Dragonhunter is that if the enemy is right up in your face the auto attack ceases triggering, even if you try and do I manually. It’s as if there is a minimum range threshold for being able to attack. Like a lot of other people have said, I hate everything to be facing my target to use skills. SoE should fire just like any other AoE ability. When I activate it and start to run in a different direction it should still fire.
Canach was not in our group, he was bunkered down with the rest of the pact group. It’s like asking when Lanthir joined our group because he went along and helped us with the mission. He didn’t, he was a survivor of the crash.
Am I remembering it wrong? I’m pretty certain he was with the group when you enter the Brink.
The developing team for guild wars should not force us to play the new class at level 80 and make it like the other classes that way players can get use to it and format it to their play styles as they see fit because having to pay 105 dollars for an expansion and be force to play a level 80 character upon entering the game makes actually no sense what so ever
I don’t think that Revenant will be level 80 when the game is released… just for beta purposes. You can’t test their mechanics if their mechanics are inaccessible from needing to level up.
Now that you’ve explained it I understand. <3 I’m personally fine with the way things stand, but then again I main guardian and warrior. I understand how classes that rely on conditions could get frustrated.
Why we cannot do dungeons to level up masteries?
You can do dungeons to level up the “Central Tyria” Masteries. The Maguuma Masteries only level up from XP earned in Heart of Thorns areas.
Now of course, if there will be dungeons in Heart of Thorns, you could use those.
I doubt it. There has been no word up to this point and Colin throws up a brick wall anytime someone asks him.
It may not be much, but if the rest of the expansion is anything like what we’ve seen so far, I’m excited! I’m actually glad we didn’t get a swarm of new skills. The mastery system is well implemented, I think, if not explained very well. There will be more specializations as stated. But I’m sure working on and new class plus the nine specializations makes balancing tricky.
There will be more elite specs over time. They don’t want to flood in a million new skills because of balance issues.
As to the territory, the beta is only showing 1/4 of one part of one map. There will be much more at launch. Also GW1 territory was basically linear paths so the actual playable area was not that big.
You realize that when each class will get 2nd elite spec its will be called “2nd expansion for gw2” and you will have to pay 50$ again? Or you realy think you will get them for free?
I’m willing to bet we will get another set for free. Call me optimistic.
Pretty sure the beta living story isn’t the first campaign mission. I’m willing to bet it starts outside Verdant Brink and then transitions into it. Things probably kick off in the Silverwastes.
Well you didn’t really explain why you think this, so I’ll be the one: why do you think this?
I do find the HoT areas are quite overwhelming for lower-spec machines, though I haven’t had a chance to try it on my gaming machine.
I agree. Having no problem on my tower, but serious issues on my laptop.
I think the main problem is the smoke.
It might be the crashed smoking pact ship at the middle of the area. I think everything is rendered with the same detail regardless of distance and everytime you look into the ship’s direction (when you are not in the cave because in those the “outside world” is not seem to be rendered) it blows the laptop. The most demanding effect in the game is smoke indeed in general btw.
edit: No, its not the ship and the smoke. Regardless of the ship’s direction framerate drops when i look toward certain big open areas. Same thing with Silverwastes. Even if i look at cliffs there with nothing more than desert plains between me and them the framerate dies. Lion’s Arch is new and this does not happen there.
I’m having the same issue. I’m not really one who cares TOO much about frames and my rig isn’t particularly beefy. I can run things on medium settings in the rest of the game with a steady 25-30fps. I went into HoT and suddenly I got a dip to 10 in the worst spots of the game, mostly when looking out over the scenery of Verdant Brink. It really detracts from the experience, especially when things are jumping around in battle and it’s difficult to keep up with everything.
I notice the same problem in the SW jumping puzzle. When there is too much rendering on my screen the frame rate will dip, sometimes dramatically.
EDIT: I also remember this being an issue in the first couple of GW2 betas as well. They got things rolling pretty quickly. I just hope they’re just as quick as last time.

Colossal Vine event is a lot of fun… when it decides it’s done being immortal.
I’m really enjoying it so far. Maybe I’m just a silly casual, but I have no complaints. ;O
I love how the graphics always look as good ingame as in the trailers/cutscenes/artwork.
Because they’re pre-rendered
I didn’t think it was hilarious. Maybe just the race you’re using? Delivery is key.
I’m having serious frame rate issues in some areas. Has HoT not been optimized completely, yet? I don’t have this issue in any other area in the game.
I can actually see this happening, however unlikely. Especially if they grew up together (say in Lion’s Arch). A human and a charr coming from different backgrounds, IE their homelands, would have wildly different values and beliefs. We are all programmed by our culture and surroundings. I a human and a charr were raised as equals and as companions, I can see something developing there. Am I alone in this?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because once I asked it started to bug me. What are romantic relationships like for the other races? Sylvari I’ve pretty much got figured out, their social mannerisms are pretty simple. Humans too because, well, I’m human. But what about norn, charr, and asura? How do couples work with those races? Do they stick together in an actual relationship, do they hook up just to reproduce? And what about sexuality and cross species interactions? Can a charr be gay and kick it with a human? I’m looking at you, Rytlock and Logan.
I’m just super ignorant on this topic and not sure where to look up the answers.
I was hyped, but the last beta has made me… hesitant. I’m probably gonna play through HoT on my other characters first anyway.
