Te Nosce [TC]

So, in a game with makeover kits(that also allow sex changes); the ability to name change; shapeshifting, magic; mesmers (illusions, clones); etc…you claim this “problem” is ruining your gameplay.
Maybe, the circus folks are messing with you/everyone.
Maybe, the generically named NPC is standing watch.
Maybe, just maybe, another NPC relieves the previous generically named NPC and is now standing the watch.
There is nothing immersion breaking about any of this. This would actually improve immersion because it fits more neatly into humans perceived notion of the world around them and puts a semblence of reality in to the game.
Immersion breaking would be if the NPC addressed you by your real world name and told you to log off because you “think” there is something wrong with something that was programmed in to the game.
Is it possible that there are bugs in the game…oh yeah, too many to count.
Is this one item you seem obsessed with a bug, not in my opinion and nothing you have offered so far indicates it is bugged.
Edit: I left out fractals and alternate dimensions.
Different life choices made them look different. Log out/back in…they look different because you have logged in to an alternate reality.
I’ll wait patiently for the thread where map closings ruin immersion and force you to log off because “real” maps wouldn’t just turn off.

You forgot an option in your pull:
- Delete daily achievement points from the game since dailies are not achievements.
This. I never understood why achievement points were given for things that are not achievements.
They should just remove the daily points and the cap at the same time. Which would then put the leaders at about 18k points. So, instead of being 21k behind the leader, I would only be 9k behind.
Give credit/achievement points for doing achievements…NOT for logging in each day (which is not an achievement).
- 2012: 22 Oct – 2 Nov
- 2013: 15 Oct – 13 Nov
- 2014: 21 Oct – 4 Nov
- 2015: 23 Oct – 4 Nov
- 2016: 18 Oct – ? (possible: 1 Nov; probable 8 Nov, see below)
This pattern shows it more than likely ends tomorrow the 1st.
2012: 11 days, ending first week of the month
2013: outlier
2014: 15 days, ending first week of the month
2015: 12 days, ending first week of the month
2016: 13 days (if tomorrow), ending first week of the month
Either way, plan for it to end. You won’t be disappointed this way, and excited if it continues.
This must be an NA thing. Everyone on EU seems to just call it The Horror.
We’re not very imaginative I guess…
No, this makes you normal. Apparently, we are having trouble over here figuring out what to do with ourselves or what to call things. Even things that already have names.
The problem is that Anet “assumes” that all of the hoarded items will be dumped at a stabilizing price and that will fix the cost of things. That simply isn’t true.
The assumption that everyone is holding what they are waiting for the “right price” is a mistake. I can hold up to 750 of each items in my vault (it’s all the upgrading I wanted and what I felt comfortable with). When I go over 750 I sell them on the TP or give them to my wife so she can get to her vault max (hers is 1500 cause that is what she likes to have/“hoard”).
There isn’t going to be a price on the TP that all these items get to that I feel I “have” to get rid of them. I want to have 750 of every item at all times for personal use/crafting/just in case. For my wife that is 1500. Every person I play with does the same, has a set number of items they hold on to for crafting, etc.
So, with regards to supply, the amount we are holding on to for eternity isn’t going to be dumped in to the market when it reaches the “magic” price. Just like from the demand side, we are not part of the equation because we are being self-sufficient.
Anet saying the available “supply” in game is there and that the TP will fix itself just isn’t an accurate statement.
First world virtual problems.
I would not be opposed to crafting items in bulk, but maybe let them fix all of the other bugs first.
I’m not even sure anyone reads the bug reports. I get that most people aren’t having the issues I have been having for 10 weeks now. But, the Ghostly Outfit is NOT the only outfit doing this (regardless of settings).
I have submitted every crash report (easily more than 50) and on several of them have noted that the crash was caused by an outfit another player was wearing.
This is not the first outfit to make other players crash. This has been happening, in the exact same way for some of us (with a different outfit) for 10 weeks. Submitted more crash reports than I can recall.
Outfits causing the game to crash has been going on for about 2 months. This just seems to be the most dramatic. I have submitted the “crash report” at least 30 times and have said as much a couple times.
I would assume that your suggestion of changing animation settings from low to med/high may fix those as well, but the Ghostly Outfit is NOT the only outfit causing this.
I remember the first Tomb Raider game. Where in some places you had to run and jump and catch ledges with your fingertips, then walk ledges and around corners still gripped by your fingertips and pull yourself up to get to where you needed to be. That was 1996.
Fast forward twenty years and yeah, I can raise the dead (albeit horribly) and glide from tree to tree, but I can’t climb anything I can’t just jump up.
If I try to view the Ghostly Outfit on the Trading Post the game crashes. 100% of the time.
This isn’t the only outfit causing this as this type of error has been occuring for 2 months now. Four years with no problems playing. Then after a patch, crashing constantly with these types of errors.

Even a full OS reinstall and a full redownload/install of the game doesn’t fix it.
Nothing they do for the most part makes sense. But, instead of doing what you would expect, they would likely realize that an error exists and just double the cost of the two handed items and leave the one hand items the cost they are now.
I just did it for the first time since the update. It seems it may be fixed as I got a Mad King Chest.
I do the clock tower every year, cause I like to prove to myself I’m still capable of doing it.
I remember in previous years getting a mad king armor piece. This year, I got 5 ToT bags. No exotic, no nothing.
Let’s just hope/pray that their new focus on quality content quickly means that no more raids will be added.
I’m running 1250 HP (and have been for months) and my healing output is easily 10% under what it was before today’s patch.
They may have raised the HP contribution, but it is still an overall nerf to healing for us.
I can see wanting “equality” in items, but it’s not something I think they should (or will) ever change.
Gen 1 legendaries: look at the footfalls, they last 6 to 10 steps for some of them.
Gen 2 legendaries: example Nevermore, maximum 2 footfalls at any time. They go away so fast it’s almost like they aren’t there.
The weapons just have some variety to them. Gen 1 got better footfalls, gen 2 got better arm effects.
I think he said he’s off on an extended holiday but I’m not very good at interpreting this stuff…
I read that the same way. “I have 6 weeks of vacation time and will lose it if I don’t take it, so I’m gonna let the market do what it wants while I’m gone.”
At least, this is what his post sounds like to me, cause no one can say that T6 leather is fine.
SO, back on topic. Gem store items=skins only. In game items=actual items with stats.
There is nothing to balance, since no advantage is offered to gem store skins. You still have to play the game to get items to give you an advantage.
With regards to the “spend money to get gems to get gold”, there is no way around that. Yes, people with large disposable time or income will have an advantage on the things they can get. Sadly it’s life and I’m one of the poor ones.
I just made my 77 as well for Nevermore. DO NOT EVER use the make 10 recipe. The more attempts, the closer to the RNG average you will get. Using the x10 recipe will just cost you more money if you aren’t lucky.
If it helps, I did keep track of my RNG rate and it was 24.7% of the time I got a clover.
Depends on what people consider the normal range for healthy active players.
Was told by one of those players “in the know” (whatever that means) that the weekly active players is just under 100k.
Does that mean the glass is half empty or half full if accurate?
Why does the wvw laurel vendor sell amulets and rings at a discount for laurels and badges of honor, but the accessories are still full price + ecto?
Her outfit looks like a couple other medium armor sets thrown together, and with a couple shinies to make us buy it (I might).
I don’t think this has anything to do with where the story is going, I just think it is how the armor looks.
That said: I really, really like your theory and hope it turns out to be the case.
And I thought it was the other way around. Bloodstone Fen is interesting, but after map completion I can’t be bothered to even go back to the zone. Whereas Ember Bay is kind of fun.
It’s not every 5 minutes. It’s a constant dc of the entire WvW maps and resets the lords at every tower every time.
No, conditions are not OP. People that go full glass cannon or builds with no condition removal struggle against it. I can’t speak for PvP because I don’t waste my time there, but in WvW it’s fine.
It is from the time the HoT key was added, not the age of the account. And the timer was like 96 hours total if I remember correctly.
Played since beta and have never had any issues with the game.
But, with the patch about 5 weeks ago now, I get this error all the time:
Failed to resolve AimIK bone indices.
I have run the repair, completely redownloaded the client, completely reinstalled my OS and than the client again…and it still happens all the time.
I have turned all my setting down to pretty much nothing and this still keeps happening.
Can we please get a fix for this?
It’s a gold sink for those who have to “collect them all”.
Nothing more.
If you are maxed with the 3 central Tyria masteries (but not HoT Masteries), than the only way to earn the Heart of Maguuma masteries is to play one of the new maps. Silverwastes and Dry Top are part of Tyria not the HoT maps.
your right… instead you bought a lifetime pass and then were told the rides you bought the pass to ride for, are no longer being used… totally not relevant….
Well, to be fair, it wouldn’t be relevant, because the lifetime pass just gets you in to the park (so lets you log in to the game) with no guarantees that every ride will always be available. Over time, some rides will be replaced/removed (content subject to change) but you still have your lifetime access to the park.
Making legendaries may be the only reason some people bought HoT (I don’t doubt it). But, if you buy lifetime access to a theme park, and they close your favorite restaurant or ride at the park months later, they aren’t likely to say “here’s your money back” and then compensate you further for the change.
I get the impression that orbs will be on sale in the gem store and the next content update will almost require them.
(*oh look, the bloodstone knights now have an 8k range instead of the already ridiculous 4k range they have now)
Letting us customize the UI would probably be the greatest change for QoL they could ever make. I’m not sure what all could be done, but even letting players mod the UI with skins would be amazing.
I was wondering when they were gonna get around to fixing that. Now I may actually start using it, because the bugged version looked ridiculous.
I don’t even want one, but I wish they would have made it more like old pirate movies. Right now, on Asura it looks weird.
The next expansion will likely include the core game as well, but not the Heart of Thorns expansion. It is what it is. It just seems normal to me for them to do it that way.
The backpiece was for the 4th birthday achievement. So only one per account so far.
No reason to raise the cap. Personally, I think the 2g for the daily should be removed too. The cap is doing exactly what Anet intended.
New players will never “catch up” because of all the retired achievements and will have to deal with the cap when they reach it too.
Easily played at that. Before I moved I was on 3MB internet, and my wife and I both played and it ran fine. I had no trouble doing the Mad King’s Watch Tower or WvW.
Well…I log off where I last played…usually AB. Where I log in is the fun part…at the north entrance of LA.
More than 30% of the time when I log in my character has been moved to the entrance by the mystic toilet. The same thing happens to me when my game crashes. Middle of the octovine event: crash, log in at the entrance of LA and have to port back and pray I can get back on the map I was on.
(edited by Ubi.4136)
I saw a thread asking for this a while back.
Just noticed this and wondered if it was going to happen.
Edit" It doesn’t seem to show if the drop down list doesn’t say “All” on it when you go in. May have to try a few times. There is also, rings, amulets, accessories. Just thought it was weird.

Of course we’re plotting. But, if you want to be in on the big plan, I’ll give you a hint.
Hint: It involves fast travel.
(*you know, Asura gates, waypoints…we control them. Eventually we are just going to make them kill anyone who uses one who isn’t Asura.)
“Right now there is a consistent supply of mystic coins entering the game (way more than are being consumed) and churning through the trading post at a very slow rate. Most of the coins on the market are ones that have been flipped.”
What’s funny about the statement from Chris is that this is the exact thing Anet was saying couldn’t happen because there were too many people playing the game. And yet, time and time again, we see a handful players artificially inflating the price of something, sometimes by several factors.
I know several people, myself included, who get a random crash (with the send crash notice to Anet) all the time. Sometimes, just trying to change characters or log out. Or, just standing around. It has been happening since the patch 3 weeks ago.
So some helpful info here:
Settings:
Animation: Low
Character Model Limit: Low
Character Model Quality: Lowest
This doesn’t seem to have reduced the number of players I see running around too much, but has turned them into generic grey mobs in the major cities. I haven’t seen a seizure inducing light show in about 12 hours since the change.
I do, however, still see people with legendaries, giant hawk wings, etc. It would really help with things like jump puzzles to be able to turn off backpacks too…especially when your character is my height.
In the name of sharing pretty outdoor pictures….
And yes, this place exists. Rainbow Mountains – China.
Wow, that is amazing. I doubt I will ever make it to China, so I will stick with climbing the hills around me.
Make a new toon. Go through the guild halls to Tarir and the north passage of Verdant Brink. Than, see how much of HoT you can get done starting at level 2. Some classes it’s a little easier due to run speed or stealth, but it is a challenge. I can get every waypoint in both VB and AB without a death starting a level 2 and without using teleport to friend stones.
It is both challenging and good XP. It also has made playing the HoT maps really, really easy at level 80 because I know everything that is there and exactly what can kill you and how.
Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
Depending on which way you look you can see Pike’s Peak too.

The reason we have so many Faren mini’s…
Spoiler Alert:
Queen Jennah Dies sometime soon in the story line and Faren becomes the new ruler of DR.
