Reducing the AoE for more melee trains is perfectly fine, assuming of course we add two more features at the same time to make the game truly great.

Also, don’t forget that the melee range will need to be lowered from 130 (on average) to 30. Other physical melee weapon attacks that hit for absurdly long ranges (150 to 300) will also need to be reduced to 30.

Honestly I would have liked a long bow version of the storm bow for a legendary.
Imo storm bow looks….kitteny…I wouldn’t want that as a legendary.
Sadly, I agree. I was really hopful when I heard they were adding the skin and sad when I saw it. I would be happy if they would just add the GW1 version to the game, I really dislike the “updated” version.

the three problems with WvW are Balance, Skill Lag, and Blackgate

There are 4 problems:
1. balance
2. skill lag
3. server transfers (not any individual server)
4. up to the individual reader
The problems with wvw CAN NOT be fixed. People just want to win in the fastest way possible. Blackgate exists in it’s current form, because people want to run up and hit things once or twice and collect rewards with no chance to lose.
The second server transfers opened (years ago) they eternally broke any chance for wvw to be balanced. And, since transfers are revenue, they will never go away. No matter what you do to ANY server, all those “have to win instantly and all the time” folks will just go back to the same server eventually.
You can suggest changes to scoring, that might help a little. You can suggest changes to skills to help balance small group encounters. There is literally no point in the crusade to disband a server, because there is no way to do it.

The game was launched as “play how you want to play”. They abandoned that long ago.
They really don’t care how people want to play, they want us to do certain things and will continue to do that since they get so excited over something they made, they think we should be equally excited to play it.
We can’t even get them to put in a “turn off other players effects” checkbox or something, that every game for 15 years has had. It’s turning in to a seizure-inducing light show, but since they made all the shiny stuff, they don’t care how it affects players enjoyment of the game. I still don’t know what ANY boss in the game looks like, they are all just giant f/x blobs.

Personally, I hate the way scourge plays. After testing, have decided I would rather stay in my reaper build. I really don’t get why the scourge barrier affects other players, I think it should be personal, but that’s just my opinion.
I will stick with HoT elites for several classes. My ranger wilI stay druid and my mesmer will stay chrono. Ele will stay tempest. My engineer will definitely switch to holosmith, cause the damage is stupidly over the top unless it gets changed too. Deadeye…just lol.
What I take issue with is a bunch of Ele mains complaining they should nerf other classes elites just because they don’t like Weaver.
The devs have said changes are coming before launch. I have stated numerous times, why don’t we wait to see how the class is changed before continuing the nerf hammer crusade.
Boons should not be an “I win” card. Whoever can stack the most for the most duration wins. I really like that a hard counter is coming. The blob-fest that is wvw will be interesting for a few months as people try new things. Not a fan of the shift to “all condition all the time” but that was already happening and I will adapt like always.

Most of necro corruption are held back by being on long cd long cast times or must get in to melee ranged to have full effect

Focus 5 – Spinal Shivers; 1 sec cast, 20 sec cooldown, 1200 range
Dagger 3 – Dark Pact; 1 sec cast, 25 sec cooldown, 600 range
Axe 3 – Unholy Feast; 1 sec cast, 12 sec cooldown, 600 range
Utility:
Corrupt Boon – .5 sec cast, 15 sec cooldown, 1200 range
Well of Corruption – .25 sec cast, 40 sec cooldown, 900 range
Traits:
Major-Chill of Death – below 50% cast Lesser Spinal Shivers on foe, 1200 range
Grandmaster-Spiteful Spirit – convert boons to conditions entering shroud, 600 range
All of these corrupt boons, and the only one on a long cooldown is well of corruption. Longest cast time is 1 sec and that really isn’t long and none of these are melee range.
Coincidentally, I currently have all of these in my wvw build, except I don’t use axe.
We do not know what changes are being made. How about you wait until launch to see what they have done.

There is no reason to continue this since we don’t know what the changes are…but:
1. The thread is made by an Ele who isn’t happy with weaver or their barrier.
2. He keeps referring to “the video”, the same could be said about the 2 year old Revenant video…look at how the turtle loses no health and can’t be killed.
3. The other Ele is worried about boons being bad instead of good. Boons should not be an “I win” card because you can spam them and keep 100% uptime during fights for your roaming build.
4. Deadeye will be more broken as will the burn guard build in my opinion.

1. They already said the elites are being changed before launch – this thread is beating a dead horse.
2. There are videos going back to year one showing turtles surviving everything thrown at them…scourge is no different.
3. Adjustments are needed (likely to the number of targets barrier affects), but everything is pure speculation since they already said changes are coming (vague, but it’s something).
I’m honestly more concerned about the power creep, where classes are getting the ability to do 2x-5x the average players total health in a single shot. No class should be able to use a single ability (regardless of setup) and down every other class in the game regardless of health/toughness. But, hopefully, they will adjust that too in the changes they are currently making.
I main a necro, and will still be playing reaper after testing scourge, unless they make changes to how it plays.

I like the idea since, from what I’ve heard, you can salvage without having to identify AND the unidentified gear will stack with itself. This will cut back on the “hurr, I killed 5 things and now my bags are full” problem. I don’t see the big deal.
The unid loot includes ALL loot drops including exotics. You right click, salvage all, and just salvaged a pre-cursor you didn’t know about.

I’m not talking about people getting upset over past changes.
If the OP is so worried about balance with PoF, why is this thread ONLY about scourge? There is a video of a deadeye hitting another player (not NPC) for over 100k damage. There are multiple videos showing a deadeye hitting for 30k-45k damage against other players. Most players have 20k health.
Where is the uproar?
I would argue that boonsharing/boon uptime is as broken as scourge might be given certain circumstances. (which may be why they created it)

Necros/reapers kill people with boons now…it just changes how it’s done.
I see guards, eles and warriors all the time running around fighting 1vs4, 1vs5 and winning. Not really because amazing skill, but because they can perma-boon and the classes they fight don’t/can’t remove them. I jump in on reaper, they near-insta down and get spiked.
I get that the OP is mad that ele isn’t the best at everything anymore, but scourge really isn’t as broken as they are trying to make out (for the record, I don’t like it and won’t be switching from reaper).
Where is the OP’s uproar at the video showing a thief hitting another player for over 100k damage?

I’m on TC. I finish diamond on this account (my main) Saturday night/Sunday afternoon. I then log my second TC account and finish diamond before Tuesday night. Second account goes so much faster cause it is almost entirely outmanned. I only play on EBG.
I could easily finish my third TC account before reset, but usually log back on to my necro just for wvw ranks.
The numbers being fielded by other servers across all the borderlands, isn’t even close to similar for servers that are each marked as full.

Arrow carts don’t kill anyone but full glass with no heals anyway. Even now, zergs show up and just stand under them taking basically no damage. How is this “revelation” of yours any different?
Also, it’s not continuous video. Editing can do amazing things. This video has been edited in an attempt to make scourge look strong, all of the deaths/enemy pushes have been removed.
Your group has no stability. A good group will push right through and wipe you. The barrier is nice, but even attempting to abuse a single mechanic, turns the raid in to a one trick pony that can be countered easily by the current meta/good groups.

They’re not going to comment, and likely will not fix it. Have you tried gliding off a cliff with a large group? Or, fought ANY boss in this game? It’s just a giant blinding light show that is seizure inducing for a lot of people. The mounts will be the same way. Unless a dev’s kid or family member is directly affected, nothing will happen.

That video…looks EXACTLY like what all of year one looked like. The tight non-moving blob was unkillable. So, instead of playing Nascar, where both blobs slowly make left turns picking off each others tails till one wins, we are back to Super Turtle.
People will adapt/overcome (or not and perish).

This error was really common in GW1 and early GW2. Basically, the problem is on Anet’s end. Server too busy to respond to what you are doing, overpopulated, whatever, so it kicks you off. Unless something changed, it was always a server instability issue.

The lag in particular is skill lag on use. You can still run and move your character, just none of your abilities work. This is a problem on their end, not on our personal systems.

There is no dueling “issue” in wvw. It’s a battlefield. I have killed and been killed in many a 1 vs 1…none of those were duels.
We do not need “dueling dailies” so you can do your daily farming your alt account in under a minute.
There are guild halls where you can fight.

The only change I can see them making is another ticket adjustment. 2 weeks of raiding is enough insights to make a piece of legendary armor. 3 weeks is needed for enough tickets to make a piece of legendary armor.
They could adjust the numbers up slightly so both gameplay styles take the same amount of time per piece.
That said: thank you for upping the weekly limit to 365 and giving us a legendary path. It’s better than having less and no path.

That leak also told us the customizable home instances were already done but pushed back.

The aura is the reason I am NOT making it. I don’t want an aura ( I can buy those from the TP), I want an ascended equivalent accessory I can change stats on when needed. Why would I make a single accessory that costs as much as an entire set of legendary armor just for the aura? I wouldn’t.

Yes, conditions still hurt and down you, and zergs can still play ping pong with you while it is active. I am taking damage from power attacks while this signet is active. The tooltip says this should not be happening.

I am constantly getting damaged and downed while this is active.
The latest was jump shot from engineer and lightning strike from the weapon sigil.
I’ve also noticed it goes on cooldown without giving me the active rarely.
People keep telling me that it only stops physical attacks, but that is not what the tooltip says, and jump shot, for example, isn’t a magic attack.
Fix the skill or redo the tooltip.

It’s always been there. Also, the animation change slows the character. Used to be really bad before gliding, because it made some jumps impossible with a 2-hander. Had to switch to dual weps in order to do certain jumps.

The problem is that EVERY mesmer clone skill should remove it, or it defeats the purpose of the class’ mechanics. You should NOT have to buy the expansion for the skills that detarget you (also meaning you HAVE to play a specific weapon).
I get that they want to sell the expansion, but the expansion should never become a necessity to play 2 of 3 game play modes (pvp and wvw). Or the flip of that, is that a thief “with” the expansion is given an “I win” button facing mesmers.

Numbers over all timezones = coverage – the basis for your win, superior coverage = guaranteed win
Numbers advantage in your timezone = your blob outnumbers opponents during your timezone, opponents do not have the numbers to face yours. PvDoor, no risk play. Blob server wins skirmishes covering your timezone.
KDR = not necessarily a measure of skill, but rather tracks with the out of balance population of your timezone/server versus your opponents. Easy kills when 2x the opponents squads. And can also be attributed to skill. Mostly, it’s numbers. KDR in outnumbered matchups reflects the willingness of players to throw their bodies at, or get caught by the unbeatable blob force. Good players don’t. New players, think they can or think they should.
Morale – Being the large blob, and largely unopposed group feeds the morale of your map blob and keeps the blob intact. Taking T3 structures your opponents worked for hours to upgrade, in just a few minutes with smaller groups attempting to defend your 3 guild-organized groups, feels good, but isn’t a reflection of ‘good’. Opposite is true for your opponents. Morale drops when a significant structure is lost and the server was unable to muster a reasonable defense. This feeds sense of hopelessness for those players. Facing this day after day results in less player support, less play and transfers off that server.
Yep, largely about the numbers.
And, why I continue to ask for clarity for what the go forward plan is to create some semblance of population balance and a mechanism which does not revolve around “Luck of the Link” manual pairings and is responsive to material shifts in populations.

The new stat set I saw last weekend from the preview is Power/Healing Power for the high stat and Precision/Concentration for the low. That could be a really decent stat combo for druid.
