Magic find=you “might” get slightly better drops so a rare instead of masterwork.
Unbound magic is endless T6 mats=a totally broken idea.

Yes, it sucks to be capped in something, but that is how games work. There is no reason to change it.

My last pug raid consisted of a guy asking me why I had a certain sigil on a weapon (which I had overlooked cause I swapped it off another character weeks before). Several minutes went by before I realized he could see all my gear (which he “approved”) without me linking it.

It was then followed by 3 guys from “the best raid guild in GW2” as they referred to themselves, wanting to know how (and it what order) I had all my abilities macro’d. Cause apparently, not macro’ing everything into just about 1 button is frowned upon.

They seemed less concerned that I was using an older power meta build.

Why do I get aggro from everything?

Most of the “aggro” mechanics are flexible…so, not set in stone.

1. Some mobs aggro to highest dps.
2. Some mobs aggro to lowest level or defense.
3. Some mobs aggro to closest player (the most common aggro in open world). So, even though someone else triggered the proximity, when they run past you, the mob now only sees you.
4. Some mobs use multiples of above, and/or use “special” abilities at random other targets.
5. Raids were given the trinity. So, for raids, highest toughness will nearly always maintain aggro.

I have tested on the same mob with multiple classes in identical gear and have also noticed that some mobs target certain classes first every time.
The game seems to have some overriding aggro protocols, but they are almost as random as the drops.

Announcement of 2nd expansion.
New slideshow/storyboard of 2nd expansion and call it a trailer.
Confirmation of current expected delivery date of 2nd expansion.
Possibly a teaser of a new legendary weapon and/or new raid.

Hype train begins if any of the following happen:
New race.
New class.
Henchmen.
Destination other than Elona.
Something else truly cool and game changing I can’t think of on a Wednesday.

Butt capes would like to disagree with this statement. Granted, I think butt capes are made solely with the purpose of selling costumes, but even some of those come with butt capes.

This is where simple communication from a product maker to it’s audience is needed. They obviously knew at least a week in advance that the skins would start at double the normal cost of EVERY skin since the launch of the game.
The reason could very well be that people get more ticket scraps under some new system so the price really hasn’t “changed” in any real sense.

But, this is why people pay community managers.

A week ago it could have looked like this:
Hey guys, with changes to the black lion chest drops players are receiving more ticket scraps then before. So, with the launch of Episode 6 we are changing the price of the new weapon collection to 2 tickets to offset this and maintain the value of both items.

Sure, people will still complain, but “talking” to the playerbase beforehand is almost always better than letting them discover it on their own.

Yeah. All of the ley-line skills, kodan’s blessings, oakheart’s essence things are starting to give me a bad taste. I dread that the second expansion will be nothing but endless “things” that replace all my class abilities in lieu of environmental ones.
I don’t really care whether we get mounts or not, but if getting around looks like this:
1. get on fast mount for 10 seconds
2. get off mount – combat with my actual class abilities
3. get on climbing mount to get up a hill
4. now get on ravine jumping mount to glide over
5. get back on fast mount to get a little further
6. more combat…etc
It’s gonna get real old, real fast and people will just move on to another game.

The % of guilds who have claimed Gilded Hollow has no bearing on whether or not the population of the game “prefers” it over Lost Precipice. It may be true that more guilds have Gilded Hollow as their guild hall, but that was likely the choice a guild leader made (or core officers), guilds are not democracies.

How about you do an in-game poll to see what guild hall everyone prefers before skewing a statistic to support your own personally desired result.
You may find that you are correct then, but for the moment you have nothing but an assumption based on a single data point.

Edit: after rereading the first post realized this was a necro thread. Can we get updated guild hall claim statistics?

Since launch, EVERY skin was 1 (one) ticket when it was introduced (released). The cost goes up when they are moved to the back or higher when reintroduced (re-released).

I really don’t care one way or the other on this subject. That being said, if/when they ever remove the character limit (if they can) they need to add the mechanic that removes players from the end of jump puzzles and puts them back at the beginning. Kind of like how in Auric Basin they kick you out of Tarir when the meta starts.

No reason people should be getting even the current limit of characters worth of free loot per day. Or, they just limit the number of times people can open those chests per account per day.

Server transfers cost money. Pretty sure that is the reason for the system we have. They know gamers don’t really like to lose so will jump to the winning side if it’s available.

Edit: That said, I do like the outmanned pips I get on every map as TC almost all the time. Been TC since launch, will stay TC even in last place.

I still don’t think Balthazaar (if it is confirmed to be him staying behind) is the bad guy.

The expac is going to Elona and the trailer shows what looks like Orr. What do they have in common? The undead. Orr has minions but no master, and Palawa Joko likes undead armies.

I think Ep. 6 is just going to lead up to that, maybe show that Balthazaar isn’t the “bad guy” and in fact may end up helping.

That’s what I have gotten out of this so far.

Edit: Also, the first person I can think of who would be wearing a crown and look undead would be Palawa Joko.

I don’t think based on current game design that this could be possible open world. However, if they had them available from a dungeon lobby so people could get dungeons done that would be awesome. GW2 is built off of the GW1 engine so the possibility is there for that.

I’ve played since launch but still don’t have all the dungeon paths done. And, now that I have a kid potty training, don’t want to make other people wait while I deal with real life. With henchies I could AFK for a bit and they wouldn’t care…maybe just get bored.

It really comes down to whether or not you enjoy the character. If logging that toon feels like a chore (or something about the character bugs you) just delete it and reroll it. The birthday gifts are ok but not a reason to keep a toon.

Sure, character slots aren’t horribly expensive, but there really isn’t a reason to keep a toon if it is never going to be played. Logging in an alt army to farm a JP chest or a node is tiresome and less exciting than just playing a toon you like and have fun on.

I actually kind of wish they would move logged out characters to the start of jump puzzles to prevent that, but that’s another topic.

They have been having technical problems for more than a day. The lag is really bad and I keep getting error 7’d out of wvw.

They had a workaround for the authentication issue.

The new outmanned is great. It works, and the solution is reasonable.

The participation is absolutely broken. The inactivity timer starts 30 seconds after last action (I have also had it start while doing things like trebbing an enemy tower).
There has to be more of a delay. It takes longer to run to keeps/take fortified ones, etc.

I expiremented in that area for about 45 minutes yesterday.
I get the 4 different sounds, and it is definitely the single cornstalk in Ashantara’s picture. Could not get the effect to trigger anywhere except that single cornstalk.

Come across a thief in open world usually looks like this:
Vault, vault, vault, vault…respawn.
Sometimes, it’s the permastealth steal/backstabbers, but I see those less often.

Thieves can field near permastealth and permaevade.
Unless they make it like revenent where you can not choose your utility skills, rifle on thief is going to make the forums explode. They will most like have the same ability to down you in under 2 seconds, but now from 1500 range.

The WvW thief population is going to go up…count on it.

Personally preventing stealth stacking and forced reveal for 5s on leaving stealth whether attacking or not might be worth looking at. Obviously adjusting the amount of stealth given per combo would be needed before some thief player cries about that.

To be honest though I think stealth needs every single combo and skill tuning or some drawback adding to stealth as atm the amount of stealth in roaming is over the top.

I get that they wanted it to have a use, but it really makes no sense.

“Oh, let me craft up this piece of LIGHT (cloth) armor”.
“Hmm, it only takes 4 T6 cloth but 10 T6 leather”.
“WTF!”

I think that sums up a small part of this huge problem.

The players in the raid group were exploiting the other people. No thanks.

That’s all SW ever really was. A raid playing Nascar while exploiting the people that kept the keeps alive.

The only visual update we really need is “turn off other players effects”.

Like just about every other game has had for 15 years. I still don’t even know what 90% of the bosses in the game look like because it is always just one giant effect blob.

1. Not the cap
2. Remove the daily achievement points from the total.
– logging in for 15 minutes is NOT an achievement.

Nope, deleted a level 80 Asura Guardian to remake it as Norn (using the boost) so I could get that part of the story line done.

Subsequently, I deleted the Norn after finishing HoT and the achievement part of the personal story. Remade it as a human…who was also deleted after finishing HoT.

Once again, I am back to having a level 80 Asura Guardian…as the universe intended.

I would like to see Eir back…at Braham’s funeral. The guy has a poor attitude, does close to 0 dps in every instance and is dragging the team down. No one would willingly take this guy into combat. I vote for his mother’s return from the Mists to replace him.

SO, we know at this point that someone claiming to be Balthazaar (kind of looks/has powers like) was pretending to be Lazarus. It could be that it really is/was Balthazaar and he may or may not be dead after episode 5. So, one human god running around.

This discussion is about whether or not another being the humans worship as a god could be Queen Jenna. Possibly, a second human god running around (even if it seems very unlikely).

Enter the next conspiracy theory.

All of this got me thinking and asking the question: which fake human deity (all my toons are Asura) is pretending to be Rytlock? Sure, it’s possible that Rytlock “learned” new magic in the Mists and managed to return to the living world, but with 0 details I am hesitant to think that it’s really him. I am starting to think that maybe another one of these beings the humans worship has taken on the form of Rytlock.

I have started to go back over the dialog (which means replaying HoT) to see if I missed anything obvious.

I’ve never had this happen so I guess I never gave the thought that it could be done.
That said, it makes no sense for a player to be “offline (invisible)” and still be able to send whispers to other players.

I would love for them to add a check when selling things on the Trading Post that allows the seller to say “Not for Resale”…so once bought it could not be relisted on the Trading Post.

And, I really would love to see the difference it would make removing the artificial inflation of people just buying and reselling at a higher cost.

I imagine there would be a decent drop in price for a lot of items since the flippers/TP Botters (artificial inflation) would not be able to control the market.

I’d love invisible shoes just because I think a lot of charr shoes look ridiculous.

But what I’d pay good cash money for is an invisible backpack skin. So many times I’ve managed to make an outfit for a given character that I’m pleased with, only to find I really don’t like ANY of the backpacks. I mean I need one, for stats, but I don’t want to see one on every alt.

You can just check the box in your hero panel to toggle the backpack to invisible, same as with hat, shoulders, and gloves.

And that pretty much sums up why everyone has the “WTF” thought about the shoes/slippers.

Each map is an instance frozen in time. There is nothing, beyond Anet’s own technical limitations, preventing the festival from returning.

Can they do it: I have no idea…although they likely could.
Is there any “lore” reason or in game reason not to: no…every map is a snapshot of a time in the past. If this wasn’t true, there would be no way to do map meta events more than once.

When I fully buff to about 400% magic find, I see a difference…but it is insanely small.

What I do notice a difference in:
I have characters that pretty much never get rare or exotic drops.
I have 1 character that gets rare and exotic drops all the time.

They are on the same account yet one character is inherently more lucky then others. This mirrors the way it was in GW1 where some people got dye drops nonstop and others with equal play and content rarely, if ever, got one.

Magic find seems to have little to no effect on drops, whereas some characters seem to be granted with awesome luck at creation.

2. Ritualist – as it was in GW1
3. Necro – revert minion summoning to like it was in GW1
-only summon from corpses
-bring back the minion army (with cap of course)
-teleport to heal via corpse
-minions degen and die (the degen timer like in GW1)
4. Mesmer – keep portal; make the rest like it was in GW1
