I’ve picked chef on my engineer long, long time ago when I started to play and never changed, but unlike many of the “power levelers” I kept it and on occasion try to unlock as many recipes as possible.
I know there’s a list of all possible recipes in game on GW2 database, but I’d like to have a site or a guide or some tool, which would enable me to sort it by ingredient, the best.
So I pick, let’s say, blackberry, and it will present me all the possible recipes containing blackberry.
I am not currently interested in the bundles – feats and alike – just the single recipes.
Also is there any way of finding out how many recipes I’ve learned already?

You definitely do crit, my necromancer has 4% crit chance and still crits on occasion.

But generally, the more poeple play, the more is the probability to encounter jerks.
I was dumbfounded when I came back after a break (cca 2, 3mo) and found out people now charge for dungeon entrance.
And the map chats, often, wow.

I think the downfall of players these days is that they want everything right now, and if there’s a time frame attached to it (which does not make something inaccessible), they confuse it for grind.

I play an average hour a day, maximum, due to having a big house to take care of, one school kid and one toddler (and soon more.)
I was able to get a Legendary weapon with that amount of time.
It didn’t take me 1 month as to some HC players, but I have it.
I don’t see how it impairs anyone with small amount of time, as they have also small amount of time to dungeon run, event run, champ hunt, or whatever.

We did Melandru yesterday with 2 people, my necromancer tanking – but I generally do run very tanky builds and yes I admit, I used to test compare on Veteran Risen Giant in Cursed Shore, and once unaware they’ve buffed them and some other undead I’ve been smeared on ground pretty bad at first (that fancy charge the abominations have, took me a minute to comprehend, plus they bug out in Personal Story and some events and gain 25 stacks of fury within very few seconds; or that champ Broodmother in Sylvari starter map, you stumble upon her around leve 3, girl, that new clasp and run over poison surely is a fun killer).
But I think it’s fine to keep at least some content a bit more challenge, after all, these are the end maps…
I’ve though noticed after my recent return that they’ve fixed the “morale” events, so it’s much easier now.

I bought 5 flame 5 frost, and luckily got Pyre too, looks great on metal parts.
But yeah, could’ve bought all the others for few silver on TP.

The Crossing can still be crafted, even if you didn’t participate in the Halloween event, by the way.
I am working on mine, as it is cheaper than buying it off TP.
However I was able to snatch 20 of the Sigils of Night for a fair price, when the staff was still going under 100g.
I have bigger problem to find CoE groups for my tanky necro, might as well make the money for it too…

I dont even bother using Grenades with my Engi. Theyre already been nerfed, I believe twice. hitting someone with them is horrid unless they are in a group and dont see you coming. I prefer bombs

I don’t use them either, but I had my fun times raining them on zergs trying to take over keeps and stuff, especially to my liking was any area with heaps of cliffs, where I’d jump somewhere nearly out of LoS and just drop them on their heads. Them numbers.

Otherwise, I don’t touch ’em at all.

you should meet my very stealthy Sylvari thief than. Called Banana Shiv.
Bright yellow with very yellow glow, red spots all over and bright red tree stump hair.
Very… inconspicuous.
Noone suspects murdering banana.

On the other hand, my necro is called Branch of Wood, and I have to admit masking myself in WvW as one wasn’t much successful.

They’re not doing anything, as far as I am aware of – at least not now.

It’s a level 80 rare set of armour, solely used for the looks (transmogrification), Priory being one of three factions you choose to join during your Personal Story. Each of these factions has their own “cultural” armour to show off.
It has a known bug since certain point in the game, where parts of the armour become undyable and stay bright red. In my case boots, but I’ve heard of whole pieces and even a whole set having red through it, irremovably.

Yeah, I changed my Priory set after a long time waiting for a bug fix on that. Bright red and ugly. No more Priory for me.

I love Asuras, but I think Sylvaris are pretty good for Necros.
Here’s my baby.
But heard that Asuras have great voice overs for them.

And you know, the possibility to fry something to ash with a flamethrower (ever wondered how the wooden gates in WvW can withstand that much fire?), thwack someone’s head with a wrench, throw some nails around (which coincidentally change into a box of piranhas under water, how mean is that), run around and poop bombs while healing self or party (though it’s not going to save anyone silly), and of course ye ole grenade kit, a free ride to carpal tunnel syndrome (but great damage, really. They say. I don’t use it. I already got carpal tunnel from healing in WoW).
And much more, of course.

Cons for me personally was that I rolled it as a very first toon, made it my main, scraped through the levels in a snail tempo alongside my husband’s warrior, and later on found out that the learning curve on an engineer truly is rather big. However, on the bright side, managing elementalist was easy after that, and not speaking of the breeze all the other classes were.

At least before you’ve come up with a system that would replace the hobo sacks, just make it possible to not show them.
I think that alone would solve a lot!

I have a sylvari female engineer I would like to level up, but every time I take a look at her I remember that the hobo sacks will just cover up all of the gear.
What’s the point of making your engineer look “pretty” if a huge sack of garbage will just ruin everything else?

Are you completely positive on WvW? Eternal Battlegrounds?
Do you have all of the towns, for sure? Divinity, Citadel, Rata Sum, Grove, Hoelbrak?

Only, well, they count funny. I got the Staff Master by using the Flame Turret.

I noticed yesterday ( I am quick, yes? Been playing since start )… I was baffled, to be honest.
My necro, whom I play on occasion, has more kills by weapons than my engineer, on whom I spend most play time.

I don’t even use Kits, myself, but this got ridiculous months ago – the issues with Kits and Back Items both. At least we’ve seen one of the people say that they’d come up with an idea on how to handle the back items.

I came up with a build which just by swapping traits work for dual pistols so I can actually show off my Quip; or for FT for actual rougher play.

I loved my engineer so bad, but when I finished crafting Quip, which due to my lack of time I can dedicate to gaming took pretty long, I felt, well… “now what?”
I am a kit engineer mainly and this kinda killed it… I don’t use grenade kit, but all the other kits on occasion with FT as main. At least gimme that purple glow, if nothing…

Edit: I love Quip. But I love silly. My Asura is silly and it suits her. In all the other games I play I tend to go silly too.

Funnily, I use this mob since ever for my build testing as well.
He’s tough enough, hits had enough, spawns adds, yet not impossible to solo.

Yes. Happens on occasion on my guardian hammer and engi shield.

So I patched a small thing today and noticed that my character now runs like in older games, always 90 degrees to the terrain.
It corrects itself while standing after a second or a little more, but when in movement including gathering the proper angle is not there.
Does this happen only to me?
It’s ugly and after getting used to even run also disturbing.

Edit: It seems to be related to Frostgorge Sound map only. Will test others later when I have time (or someone help me).

The crystal part now is a bit expensive but still great, especially if you got most of the stuff.

Both are awesome. I have both at 80, and swap a lot between them. I even dished out on their T3 armours, because, well, they’re both awesome.

How I feel. The first SS is Emerald and Grass Green base, Blurple, Lipstick, Gold, Night Iris and Antique Bronze; the latter is Celestial, Abyss, Blood, Oxblood, Ash, Lemonade, and Mithril…

I have crafted the silly gun and love it.
True, I am small, but it doesn’t have much effects like Twilight anyways, and the purple glow (and that sound) is rather noticeable.
I crafted it for myself mainly anyways – gun shooting flowers and confetti just couldn’t be passed on.

After three months, finally!
Also special thanks to Cheeky Chap from Gunnar Hold, who kindly escorted my level 53 necro to the Temple of Balthazar, when I had 30k karma left for the final craft and it happened to be on that toon.

Now, I dislike dungeon, but I need 500 tokens from one to get my gift of whatever. So what then? Should I cry here, and ask the developers to lower the number of tokens required too?

I don’t like this comparison made many times for a rather simple reason – unlike badges, tokens are a given thing upon completion of any path of given dungeon. 60 tokens, bam. More often than not you get 3 or so from the other bosses too.
So in unlucky scenario, you’ll need to run something to finish 10 times. It’s set in stone, you know you will get the tokens.
Badges are more random. You are not sure how many you can get in an evening, because it depends on who you’re fighting, with whom, what numbers, what objectives (havoc and small teams generally generate smaller number of badges, yet I prefer them much more, so it took me a month to get the 500 – while it took me 4 days to get the tokens in CM. And I dislike dungeoning from WoW as a lifetime healer and tank).

Even I prefer the females. ( I am even a female playing Charr ).
Though I still like my Asura better, I grew to like this aggressive lady.

Also depends on what you like to play and how.
I run high crit rate gear and build with FT and am happy with it, while others might not.

At the time I am using FT build which can be freely morphed into full pistol build just by swapping traits (no need to reset), so I run either Apothecary or Rampager with pistols or Apo or Knights with FT.

Otherwise starting an alt can net a quick 200 SP but you cannot transfer the blood stone to you main and will have to make the gift of mastery on the alt then send it back. So I suppose it depends on how fast you want it and whether or not you want the whole craft of your legendary to be on 1 toon.

Ow, I didn’t realize it’s soulbound; kinda thought it’s account bound as most of the other legendary components. But since the Gift is account bound, it shouldn’t pose a problem, I suppose.
I guess I’ll do the alt, I don’t have time in the day to run dungeons (time as in more than 5-10 minutes in a go), them kids are pretty problematic if I ignore them for a game :P

Out of all the Legendary components, skillpoints will be the least of your problems.

Actually, besides few Karma left which will be covered once I finish off the monthly, the SP is the only thing I have left.

I have decided to get my 30ish mesmer to 80, she’s got main skills covered including her elites and can spare the points. I have always wanted her to be 80, so I’ll cover two things in one go.

I’ve got a question regarding hoarding skill points, I need them 200 (the sooner the better, but normal tempo will suffice), and I can’t decide which way is better.
I have an engineer for whom I am doing it with 100% map completion and 76 skill points at the moment which are more or less left after getting over with the clovers (pfft, blew over 250 SPs…).
I was thinking that by the time I will finish 500 badges of honor I will have enough karma and SP to give around, but (luckily!) I have hit a good commander and a week and managed to get those before the SP.
Now I am torn between just grinding it out on the above mentioned engineer; and my husband’s idea of leveling a new toon purely for the purpose of the SP farm with spending 0 SP and hoarding the 200 from levels and SP challenges.

Which way do you think is quicker and more comfortable?

I’ve already posted in another post regarding lag but I am on the same boat. Started in WvW, now applies fully on PvE as well. Can’t play longer than 3 minutes on my 80, seem to last longer for some reason on a level 4…

This is my ping test to Aurora Glade 5 minutes ago.

Keeps on being the same.

Kepp on getting lag spikes, dcs, and generally I am <-> this close to Legendary and <> this close to going back to WoW at the moment.
Which, for some reason, plays ok. It’s a shame, if I knew how to fix this or that it comes from my PC, I’d be glad to work on it…

Edit: Second screenshot attached. This happened after I tried to pick a mail from BLTC, while internet working perfectly fine otherwise. It didn’t happen for the very first time, I just didn’t think to check my connection before (because yes, occasionally my wifi does fall off, hence if I get this once a week, I don’t really wonder.) After that, the game crashed.
Third screenshot is after trying to get back into the game after last crash, while using these forums without problem…
I insist on the problem starting after the last tiny patch up, for whatever it was (after the change to system of WvW match ups).
