I miss the charaction selection button being NOT bundled under log out.
It should have only Character Selection as a separate button and logout only asks you if you are sure.
After filling a heart, what is their left to do in the area?
in Suggestions
Posted by: Unpredictability.4086
I wish they would give us a way to “remember” what we did at hearts after finishing them.
Sometimes I will do an event near a heart I haven’t started and when I finish that, the entire heart is finished too. What the hell!? There are some hearts that I haven’t even got to actually do because of this. And when you finish a heart, it takes away the secondary text that says “Help this person by doing X or Y or Z etc.” I wish they would add an extra option to all heart NPCs that says something like “Remind me who you are again” or “Relive the past” where you can do hearts again, but you don’t get a reward (or very little) after. This would be no different than GW1, where you can “relive” the events that happened in Tyria on Nightfall characters and the Scrying Pool.
We should be able to mail them or sell them. If price getting out control is an issue, just 1c them.
Hall of Memories: Way to instantly get "out of combat"
in Suggestions
Posted by: Unpredictability.4086
This is one of the most annoying things about trying to use dummies to practice on in HoM.
Approach a target dummy and use a skill on it. The dummy now turns from white status (non threating) to red (enemy). Once it turns to enemy status, you will be “in combat” and unable to equip new weapons and change your skills and traits as long as you are near them. The only way to get out of combat is to move far away from enemies and wait there for 15 seconds.
This is ridiculous. The entire purpose of dummies is to be able to freely experiment on them, not experiment > wait > experiment > wait. And this isn’t even taking cooldown into the equation!
It would be nice to add some NPCs near training dummies that get you instantly out of combat and recharge all your skills so we can so we can experiment faster. By adding these NPCS, it will also help reduce the amount of players using dummies since they will be able to do everything they want in a shorter period of time.

This is why I’m not playing the game so much anymore. Necro is my main and until it’s fixed, I don’t feel like playing PvE as a subpar to EVERYBODY class. This is probably why I’m dying so much too… other prof just melt enemies before they get a chance to deal damage, whereas with Necro we give them all the time they need. There’s no point on starting another character fr me cause I’ll just being doing everything I’ve done over so many times aleady (replay value is lost on me). And Death Shroud is the most boring, BORING profession mechanic.
I honestly felt more excited about the game when it was in beta than release form. The game is out now. So what? I’ll go back to doing chores or watching tv instead.

the problem isn’t buyer prices, it’s those who are selling for that low!
Popup messages when your items are sold or sold to you
in Suggestions
Posted by: Unpredictability.4086
Can we get a tiny real time popup when one of the items we are selling as sold, or an item we were custom buying has been fulfilled? It would be kinda nice, like “Yes! I just sold that!”
1. Could we have an option to sort alphabetically? I remember a lot of the dyes by name, and it makes it harder to find them this way.
2. If one is not possible, could we have a simple search box instead?
3. Can you increase the size of favorites? Currently it’s capped at 8, which makes no sense seeing there is 100+ dyes.
What a nasty bug!
It’s not only a spammable stealth skill now – remember it applies AoE Blindness – you can use that to trigger Blinding Befuddlement for easy access to confusion as well… and that is AoE too!

Prioritize party size over glory when filling up sPvP matches
in Suggestions
Posted by: Unpredictability.4086
I just hate it when I click “Play Now” to enter a PvP match and it’s only a 3v3 or even 1v1 game. What fun is that!? I notice this happens a lot too at after hours. I never see true 8v8 games then.
My suggestion is to prioritize party size over accumulated glory when possible to prevent small teams. For example, lets say there are only 6 people who have similar amounts of glory – that would lead to a 3v3 game (bad). The system, when presented with this, would then look for those who have slightly more/less glory and add them to the teams in balanced ratios. For example, if it detected it only had enough for a 3v3 when I click enter, it will look for those with slightly less/more glory and add them to both team when it can (so our 3v3 can turn into 6v6 for example if there was another glory level that only had enough for 3v3 as well – each side would get 3 of the less/more players). I think this could work pretty good.
I can say is holy KITTEN (seriously, just let us use astericks for our bad language instead Anet!) at a majority of these. I want them to implemented just because it would be a dramatic shift and reimaging of the class.
It says “Bleed your foe” when it doesn’t apply bleeding, it applies vulnerability instead.
Is it really that hard to click block after manually? I don’t really block people though. No real need to.
There wasn’t any DPS meters in GW1 so there is likely to be none in GW2. However there was a “Master of Damage” NPC that calculated your damage and highest hit when you attacked him, and then told you how long it took. Difference is since it wasn’t an add on, you use it anywhere you wanted.
Critical is 50% more minimum plus your added critical damage (so 10% critical damage = 160% damage on critical).
Healing power is only useful if your class can do lots of heals all the time IMO, like water magic.
We need better pale skin colors for humans!
There’s really only 3 good choices IMO – Light 7, 10, and 13. Light 7 is way too pink (however it has nice contrast), 10 is good but seems too saturated (I hate neutral to warm skin tones that are really saturated – it just has thet same effect orange skin has), and 13, while lighter and less saturated than both, seems to have a grey undertone, looking unhealthy and sickly!
Why can’t we have some creamy, white based (but not undead looking) options? Look at how many pale skin choices Asura get! Even just yellow-neutral undertones, but without as much saturation would be a start.
I bring this up because I love experimenting with dyes. I can appreciate those who go for “armor realism”, and I like the common dark colors with a pop of red/yellow/blue, but what I really love is to experiment with neon, shocking colors, extremely pale colors, and unexpected or subtle color combinations. The problem is once you start doing things like this, it can very easily clash with your skintone. The best skintone to use for what I want is one is one that really neutral – not too undead and not too colorful.
I chose Light 7 for my main PvE char, even though it was too pink, because it complimented my character’s dark red hair really well. However I’m already discovering clashes. Of course, the longer I stare at what I have (or the other options), the more I get used to them (even when putting dyes with them that shouldn’t work), but noticing this at all means that the skin choices were lacking from the get go.
Is SMAA Injector safe to use with GW2?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Unpredictability.4086
I’ve been using it since the 3 day headstart and if by some chance I get banned for using it, ill fight it. There is nothing in the ToS that forbids using such a tool like the SMAA injector. It only mentions that using third party programs to automate gameplay functions is not allowed. So until that day when something happens, I’ll continue to use it.
Ooh, guinea pig! I love how you’ve already been using it too. You get a gold star.
By the way, maybe it’s in my head but I swear that going to Supersample makes FXAA a little bit better. But it’s not like anybody can use that 24/7. I only use it for screenshots.
Are you on Ultra? I noticed there can be a pretty dramatic difference between High adn Ultra, and by default selecting best appearance doesn’t select ultra.
You already get life force when they die.
The only use they serve is when they did you get a little life force.
As they currently exist, they are useless. Remove the 30s cooldown plus the limit and make it summon 4 each time. Maybe then they will have a purpose, but I suspect they will still commit suicide or die before being able to do anything.
Gor for titles. (123456789)
This isn’t even an Engineer issue! This effects all environmental weapons and forms. Enter Lich Form or Death Shroud – auto attack disabled. Pick up an environmental weaopn – auto attack disabled. It seems that only “real” weapons can remember the auto attack trigger (which explains why it affects kits and such – they are skills, not weapons).
profit = list price – list price * 0.15
profit = list price * (1 – 0.15)
profit = list price * 0.85
list price = profit / 0.85
list price = vendor price / 0.85
Those seem overly complicated to me. I think a much easier way to calculate profit is using “what you want to make as profit after all taxes * (100 / 85) = list at this price”. Or doing it backwards “Starting price before all taxes * 0.85 = profit after taxes removed”
(edited by Unpredictability.4086)
What if they just let us use Death Shroud as an engineer’s toolbit, except tied to LF? Main problem I have is that the #1 skill is boring and DS removes access to your healing and utility skills. DS is not very fun at all.
Quit Gw2 because of crashes. Have you quit?

Could it be a singular hardware problem? Have you tried replacing components one by one and seeing if the problem still exists? You could use parts from a friends computer too (I don’t see why they wouldn’t let you).
It was like htat in the first game too.
This may not technically be a bug but I find it is.
I have 100% on Queensdale map completion, and was running through it ot get to Gendarran Fields. I came across a bit of the map that looked “Undiscovered” though and stopped to investigate. Come to find out, it was Beggar’s Burrow and I had yet to discover it. This doesn’t really make sense. Map completion counts map events, but it doesn’t consider discovering the whole map. Think this should be changed.

I noticed the game also access inbound TCP port 7534 and 7533 outbound (255.255.255.255 though). I didn’t need to forward anything.
One more reason to NOT run minions.
They aren’t undead, they are dead!
The patches that have been released for Windows 7 are crap too, you get no improved performance and you cannot uninstall them.
Yes you can uninstall AMD hotfixes. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Installed Updates > search; KB2645594 and KB2646060. Uninstall, reboot and you are done
It looks like you can uninstall the first one but not the second: “Important If you apply this update, you cannot revert the settings by uninstalling this update. This update should only be installed on computers that have KB2645594 installed.” That’s what i was refering to.
It seems you have encountered the in game anti-bot/gold seller “protection”. When you make large transfers, it blocks any more since it thinks they are suspicious.
This isn’t totally AMD’s fault. The Window’s scheduler isn’t smart enough to detect and properly work with Bulldozer’s “modules” from the get go, so Windows alone is hampering performance. The patches that have been released for Windows 7 are crap too, you get no improved performance and you cannot uninstall them.
Even though Intel is better, they were paying out massive bribes in order to hurt AMD’s profits for years. And it worked, evidenced when they had to lay off tons of valuable employees and Bulldozer taking forever to launch. If they didn’t have internal chaos and OEMs weren’t bribed to not take AMD chips (even donated ones) they might be in a better place now. That’s why I don’t support Intel, even if their products are superior. They have over 3x budget for R&D and they still feel the need to play dirty?
The good news is that the Piledriver and Steamroller are better than Bulldozer (even if not much). Piledriver is only like 4-10% better from reports on leaked samples. Steamroller was said to be “up to 30%” faster at HotChips event, however an in internal source said it was “up to 45% better”.

This is acting weird for me too. Spectral Walk teleports me after 7 seconds, there is even an additional effect that shows! However the Swiftness is still there for the full time. What the heck? The skill makes it sound like when your swiftness ends, you teleport THEN.
Why did they have to nerf cooking? Couldn’t they just nerf the XP gain you get from it?
This is funny. I actually find the game has too much sound, and by default is balanced in a way where everything sounds like it’s at the same volume (like sound effects are WAY too upfront compared to music and the rest). I actually play the game on mute most of the time.
I can’t believe only ONE person mentioned how this feature (though limited) is already in the game.
It’s the second tab in your contact list. Go look!
I knew all of that but 4, 15, 34, and 35. I mostly don’t pay attention to NPCs who sell items. I don’t use a majority of them anyways.
One extra tip: when you go to a merchant to sell, you don’t have to use the merchant’s window to sell. You can go to your inventory bags and now Sell will appear in the right click menu.
I’m already used to turning my camera with the keyboard AND my mouse, therefore I can’t relearn esdf with s and f as strafe. It’s easy to circle strafe with the keyboard too, doing it with the mouse is harder and more unpredictable. I can just imagine the camera flying all over the place.
That’s interesting! Maybe they should make it one time or just take away the achivement points and make the goodies the only reward for it hten.
I’m not colorblind, but I agree with post 2, the skill effects and can be overwhelming and distracting. It’s sometimes hard to pinpoint your own target anyways since they have the tiniest bit of selection around them. In addition to a color change, an option to really have them outlined would help to keep track of them in large, out of control fights.
I reported this a LONG time ago, before the game was even out. They already know about the selection screen showing all armor, but as this is only a minor cosmetic issue, it is LOW on totem pole of things to work on.
I have some small ideas, but the suggestion sections here has yet to be seen since BWE3.
If they made minions able to kite and dodge, I think it would be a big improvement. This tiny little change could help them avoid damage and last longer. The same thing should happen with Mesmer clones as well (though I read a suggestion on here to make them mirror your movement, which is very mesmer like and awesome).
People don’t read or pay attention.
Anyways, I reported this earlier today too.
Encountered this a LOT in SPvP the other day. Thought I was stunned or KD, but it happened so often, even when I wasn’t near people. I took couldn’t reproduce it on dummies, it only happened when in combat with actual players.
They should just take the trading post down again I think.
Between lost gold and 10% hidden fees, it almost seems better to just merch and hold onto items than risking it.
(edited by Unpredictability.4086)
This is total crap. At least list this stuff flat out in sight so people don’t need to keep doing calculations. It’s dishonest, especially when the game says “you must list higher than merch” but can effectively take away enough that you should have merched it when all is said and done.
A lot of people don’t know about these fees so 1 gold more on than the merch price becomes the lowest price, with everybody competiting there, and then what are you gonna do? I wanted to merch some “useless”/low stat stuff to get gold instead of destroying/removing it from the game, but I guess this is not what is intended.

When you hold shift and click the screenshot button, it’s supposed to hide the user interface. It has NEVER worked for me. I just get a normal screenshot with the UI and everything overlaid. I see this command posted over and over but it’s just not working for me. I always have to manually turn the UI off instead.
When attempting to deploy the turret via the tool belt skill, it creates it at your current location, ignoring deployable turrets. However making it from the healing skill on the skill bar makes it ground targetable.
You do know there is an online manual right? It’s right there on the launcher after logging in. Have you looked at it?
