1 – The high quality setting is more than just turning all the graphical effects. It’s related to getting textures and such to be the biggest resolution and last time it worked it was having problems.
2 – This is actually in the game, but broken
This is what I’ve been suggesting, LET US the player rearrange the order we want our skills to be in.
I am convinved it will never be allowed (or long time coming I won’t believe it till I see it).
I already suggested this so long ago, at BWE1, or even before that I think.

Now that we know all the activaction times, it would be nice if only those with an activation time to 1s or more would only show the activation bar to the player. Or at least an option to turn it off. I don’t see the reason behind having less than 1s show it – those skills are fast enough. It would be one less thing to look at it too.

You’re right about Guardians. I miss having block as a Necromancer, even if blind is more useful (block only affects you, whereas blind prevents it from hitting anybody). I think block skills are more reactive though, I love the Mesmer scepter 2 and offhand sword 1. I love when I see “Block” text over my head as well. Having them miss or glance, it doesn’t have it’s own special graphic.
Guaridans and Necromancers are supposed to be foils I believe. Since Guardians are so well off that will also help to brainstorm possible alternatives for Necromancer, going through Guardian seeing how one could “invert” their skills/traits.
Personally, I dont’ see why going into Death Shroud instantly reduces Life Force even when just standing there. Maybe it should be linked to a certain number of skill uses as well.

One thing that hasn’t been brought up is the compilier? How is the game being compiled? What if they just made one Intel optimized client and one AMD optimized client? I know that GCC compilier has the bdver1 option that uses a lot of Bulldozer’s instruction sets and such, getting better performance.

What if they made Death Shroud a combo tool?
Skill 1 would be projectile, 2 would be leap, 3 would be blast, and 4 would be whirl.

I am in the opposite position – I want to see more coats on casters and more “normal clothing” looking things that medium armor usually gets. I hate the long skirts and overblown, huge things – more tailored stuff would be nice.

Have you looked at traits that were removed from thegame? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_historical_traits Maybe that can help you brainstorm, plus it gives you an idea as to the evolution of all the professions.
The distortion and fish-eye part is still there but it is in your peripheral vision. This is the same as in real life, things beyond 60 degrees are distorted and not sharp, you only glimpse them out the corner of your eye.
No, that’s not what I mean. I’m talking about literally 0 distortion. Here’s a screenshot: http://imageshack.us/a/img202/9462/examplenq.jpg Notice how the edges (flowers in particular) do not show signs of any stretching, wether you look at them head on or in your peripheral vision.
I just want to say that I have had no problems with the FoV since the game has launched, even when I started playing it on my 4:3 monitor. Recently I upgraded to a 16:10 monitor, so of course I noticed a change, but I still didn’t think much of it.
I’ve watched some videos with comparisons between default and modified FoVs and honestly, every time I see the increased ones they look horrible. All I see is distortion and fisheye, like things should be not be moving like that. That and everything feels very tiny and not right.
However, I decided to experiment myself in window mode with a very wide resolution (1904×768) to see what it would look like anyways. OMG, this is so much better. I am totally on the FoV train now. I can completely see a difference, and there’s no fisheye/distortion going on either (or I woudln’t be using it). This is what has been missing in GW2 all along! The game looks a lot more “free” and “deconjested”.
I asked a couple days ago what the FoV of GW1 was, but nobody replied, so I never found out, but it’s very similar to window mode with a very wide window. There’s a greater sense of space and as a result it makes it easier to isolate things, even in large battles. I think this might have been affecting me all along and I never knew it, because I never had any physical symptoms.
This whole issue really reminds me of the loudness wars too if you know abou that. Overly loud music also squishes everything, taking away space and making things upfront.

Can we at least get a mod/developer to mention that they actually know about this?
The Mesmer WAS a PvP class until 2009/2010 update, where they got the AoE Wastrel’s Worry, improved Panic, and basically weapons of mass destruction.
What is the field of view in GW1? While I don’t have any dizzyness or such (hell, I even started playing GW2 on a low res 4:3 monitor!), I remember GW1 being a lot better in the camera department – you could zoom out further and there was more of a sense of space, so that even in large battles I could quickly find and isolate others I was targeting. GW2 feels more “squished together” and like it takes more searching.
Please fix this bug! I so want to do this title before I grow bored of PvE or have done all I can in it and am stuck grinding.
This is the first thing I’ll be looking for fixed in every single update.
So far everybody seems to be focusing on PvP, which I can understand, but in PvE, I like the change.
In dynamic events, life force can practicly fill itself up not to mention killing a harmless bunny gives you 10% life force, so I don’t need a 20% life force skill. Having it swapped for might is better in this scenario.
I think this is the main reason why I am not having as much fun with GW2 than GW1. Traits are not a substitute for having different skill combinations. There are only so many ways you can use each weapon, and by the time I’m level 80, it will feel routine and non-exciting. Traits also push you into directions into how they want you to play.
I also hate the fact that I can’t move the skills around on the skill – yes you can create keybinds, what what if I want my main hand weapon (2-3) to be in the MIDDLE of my skill ar, and then the offhand at the sides (1 and 5). You can’t do that. It’s always skill 1-3, skill 4-5. I’ve played GW1 for so long with my main 3 skills in the center of my skill bar that even after hours of playing GW2, it never feels natural and intuitive. I don’t think it ever will.

I’m not a main Mesmer, but I really want to like the scepter.
I love how it focuses on defense, clones, and confusion. Too bad the auto attack is a bit weak and slow and while skill 3 may be slow too, at least it has burst! On Necro, I say “What is this burst you speak about?” It has potential.
I know that there is way over 100 dyes, but I just listed 100+ because it doesn’t matter if there are 100 or 1000 dyes, either way those are big numbers. Then the exact amount doesn’t matter anymore.
I had a random brainstorm come into my mind today too: I know that we will never have account wide dyes (so I’m not gonna beat a dead horse), BUT I thought of some alternate functionalities that would make them act like character AND account wide at the same time.
Let us transfer dyes to alternate characters, but with restrictions. Some ideas for restrictions:
- pay gold/gems to move it to another character
- time limit (like 1 transfer per a day or once transfered must stay on an account for X amount of time)
- equivalent levels (level 80 character can transfer to any level, but lower levels can only transfer to similar levels)
- the ability randomly dropped as an item in PvE (or from PvP reward chest)
By letting us transfer dyes to other charaters, it’s like we have unlocked them – since we can use it on any other character. But since it’s not instantly available, it’s still character bound. In order to prevent somebody from “daisy chaining” their dyes – dye character 1 with expensive dye, pass to character 2, dye that one, pass to character 3, dye again – maybe the game should remove itself from the current armor when passed.

I only have one main and it’s Necro.
The state the profession is is simply making me not want to do PvE at all (or play the game in general). I’m waiting till a fix comes, cause at the moment I feel weak and boring. Takes forever to kill things, and Death Shroud is just so unfun. They really should scrap Death Shroud if its’ gonna say stay as our panic button/equivalent downed state.
I too noticed how everything is vendored now. At the start of the game and the betas, you could usually sell your blues and greens, but now everybody is selling them for a LOSS, so it’s to vendor it is.
Death shroud could use a shakeup. It’s like going into downed state in way it cuts you off from all your other skills. This seems to be a good start.
Death Belt! I love the sound of that.
nice numbers but why so many commas instead of periods?
(edited by Unpredictability.4086)
I agree. I don’t understand why there is so MUCH light added in the high setting. It looks unreal and overdone. Things look more realistic on the medium setting.
Can you add additional sets or let us make extra sets?
There are sets dyes that I think should be grouped together, like “breeze”, hint, tint, shade, pastels, primary (plain red/green/blue/etc), and food/nature (lemon, wheat, grape, olive, etc). There are even sets of one single color – olive silk, antique olive, olive hint, midnight olive, etc. If we can search, it would help most of this though.
Low compared to total health (although damage too, as it does barely anything). Lets assume somebody has 18,000 health. Vampiric hits for 25, that’s 0.13888% of it.
(edited by Unpredictability.4086)
Everybody knows the amount is super low, but if you were to change/balance the number for this, what would you have it be?
Go look up GW1 Mesmer armor: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mesmer_armor some frills going on, but still quite “normal” looking. I prefer GW1 armor in many cases to 2 though.
They don’t want to add click to move because it would un-level the playing field too. They want to keep everybody at a similar setup, hence no addons, very little UI customization, etc.

If you choose hair with bangs when making your character, headpieces utilizing the forehead (which is a lot of them) cause clipping or become obscured behind your hair. Either way, you lose out on extra appearance options.
Look at what the harlequin mask (HoM reward) looks like: http://imageshack.us/a/img839/5329/maskh.jpg
Can we have the option to force masks over hair (no clipping) so we can see them all, or behind the hair, like what’s going on now?

I don’t like this idea. F-1 through 3 would be focused on minions, and I don’t really care about them. There are other suggestions that are more well rounded.
If you don’t know what I mean, this is what I’m talking about:
http://imageshack.us/a/img696/8162/tornedges.jpg
We already got an option to turn off the Depth Blur, so why not let us turn off another stylistic feature if we want? They are already turned off when one disables the UI, so I think it’s merely a UI feature.
Exactly what are you spending your money on where 8g isn’t enough?
Barbed Precision’s bleed seems to last for 3-4 ticks then disappears… even the Sigil of Earth has a much longer bleed than this… what gives? Maybe it’s a bug.
my test showed it lasting 1 tick
I have no idea where this guru site is or where the thread it, and don’t care to go searching the internet for it.
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/47480-official-update-on-dx11-support
That entire topic goes over the gamut of everything.
(edited by Unpredictability.4086)
Like I said, XP. XP doesn’t support higher than 9. And it was probably easier to start with DX9 since they had more experience. I’m not saying 11 wouldn’t be better., but those are just some reasons. And yes, i’m going to mention to a guru thread becuase if people have already talked about this thing before, why not read past discussions?
There was a huge topic about this on Guru, you should look that up instead of rehash.
Suffice it to say, DX11 would require a LOT of additional coding so I don’t think it will ever happen. The game is based off a GW1 engine I believe which is why it’s DX9. Plus they don’t want to alienate XP users (they should get with the times anyways though).
What’s with all the hate towards it? It’s a cheesy dance but that’s the point. It’s not to be taken seriously. I wouldn’t mind it added.
I like the extra control we have in dye mode, but sometimes when you are playing around with dyes and combinations it’s tedious.
I would like a quick dye mode, where you specify a main color and/or a secondary and third, and then it dyes everything automatically. This is what the equipment preview window does by default and it’s really easy to experiment with things instead of clicking each and every single square over and over.

How can you say it’s well executed if you wish 50% of it’s skills were better?
Can I address Anet directly? I wouldn’t mind if you sent any fixes or updates out ASAP, even if it means having to restart my client tons of times as they go live. I would prefer to get everything as quickly as possible, rather than waiting for one gigantic dump.

This is very interesting. Plus one for you! (How come nobody ever uses the plus feature? I never see anybody with more than +1).
They will already do this in time. GW1 has it’s own stylist which lets you change your appearance. It would make no sense if they didn’t implement the same thing into 2.
We have a customizable profanity filter in game, so why not on this website too? It’s annoying to read “kitten” in place of words. Some things that are censored aren’t even really bad language (such as that movie Aaliyah starred in, Queen of thekitten).

we really need something for the Armor… I keep alot of my armor and sadly i’ve had to delete some of my older armor and i wish i had kept it… please do somethig about the storage
You can buy additional bank slots. Up to 7 or 8 more.
As much as I want account dyes too, it will never happen. This topic comes up so much it should be sticked at the top of thekittenforum. The system already was account wide once and then they changed it.
You must not read the bug forum much then.
I think the worst part about Death Shroud is it’s a boring mechanic. Going into DS can be so routine and uneventful.
Skill 1 is a slow, weak skill. More damage when you have more LF (nothing else).
Skill 2 has nice chill and bleeding, but the melee teleport!? Why not make it a ground targeted telport with conditions on radius of self? It would then be like a well then.
Skill 3, the fear is so weak. Compare it to the warrior ones. ONE target, for 1s. And there’s not even any damage on this one! Apparantly Warriors screaming at us is more frightening than being in a form of Death.
Skill 4, while it does the most damage and is huge AoE, it doesn’t restore any life force. The amount it returns is so trival. LF keeps draining as usual. Maybe it will slow it down for like 1-2 seconds, but it’s so hard to tell.
I know they have tons of bugs with them, but it feels like “minions > everything else”. Is everybody making Necromancer just for the minions? I know I didn’t make Necro for them at all.
Greater Marks does not increase the size of Lich Form marks.
What if they made the trial cost money? It could be cheap like $3 and last a couple days or until X level in PvE. I would try that.
Whisper should be available though. I would whisper friends to find where they were talk.
In GW1, I was Mesmer. Loved it. I love hexing, cursing, slowing down, status effects, DoT.
Only thing that looked similar was Necro but that profession is entirely broken atm so there is no way I can play that seriously in PvE. Ele is my second choice but FRAGILE scares me. They are much too fragile. I do like the look of the entire Water Magic line though.
