Hah, no. “Long” is ~15 minutes for us, and only if you stubbornly refuse to get into any of the other maps that usually have no queues or sometimes significantly shorter ones.

JQ had just repelled us from their garrison and I managed to break out and end up on that cliff. I was there for a minute or two just watching JQ’s movements, but apparently I overstayed my welcome. This elementalist drops on me and immediately tries to knock me off with that ball-of-lightning skill and I hit him with Banish at the same time. Fortunately I had my back to the cliff side, but my god I couldn’t stop laughing.

After reading some of the above posts, I have come to the conclusion that, as much as Maguuma relied on ACs, they have nothing on TC. :P Eleven ACs for one gate is twice what I’ve seen Maguuma use. Though, to be fair, Maguuma is also known for using 6 superior trebs for a paper wall (I was there). As one of the new RE transfers, I look forward to fighting SoR tonight.

You’re fighting SoR, you should have at least 15 AC’s and a catapult for good measure, the BG way.

They would’ve gotten more fight if they transferred to DB. So obviously they didn’t want too little or too much fight, just the right amount. JQ is the Goldilocks server of this match up.

Actually [Agg] have been wiped many times so far this match up by BG guilds and by JQ guilds. Not putting Agg down, they are definitely very good at what they do, but there are also many other guilds that are excellent too.

By coming into our forum and stating “I’m guessing that that fight did not go so well for JQ” is only bait for flaming and QQs. There is already enough of that in this forums and it’s disgusting. So I kindly ask that you don’t write posts in our thread that will fuel the fire of hate even further in this match up… especially considering you aren’t even in this match up.

[Agg] is great. That three-way zerg fest in JQBL, while short, was fun.

I think it was just BG and DB (Agg) for a while down south and suddenly the lag got laggier and we all knew JQ had arrived.

I’m sure theres a lot of people on JQ and all matters of servers that don’t like TW being on JQ ATM, but I have to give credit where credit is due, they’ve been putting in work!

I don’t think people remember several months ago when Free Transfers were still around and people and guilds would hop around servers weekly on EU and NA looking for better fights, just because they could.

Can’t blame anyone for wanting to come to this matchup, the fights thus far have been phenomenal. I’m sure its a lot better than facing off against two demoralized T1 servers for another tedious week. Still haven’t encountered a lot of DB myself but theres hordes of Blackgate to fight on every map, its been enjoyable.

If random mismatches are the future of WvW, touring might just become a trend once again. Seems to me stacking servers has become an obsolete meta.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Wait till you’re facing Eregon Terrace and Hendge of Denravi for a week.. Theres so many of us piled onto SoR, BG and JQ now that there isn’t much of anyone left for the other servers.

If touring becomes a trend you all need to show me what you’re doing to get that money.

It is quiet apparent over the last few weeks that JQ’s power has shifted and in this weeks match up it shows….

I’m confused now. I thought that JQ was the super server that SoR pipped from the top spot after they got transfers. But people here are talking about JQ not being good enough.

The score tells me that JQ will own any of the two T2 servers, even in a 2v1 scenario. I mean, right now JQ and DB are pretty much focusing on each other due to Raw’s big mouth, and BG has free reign. So we can’t judge JQ’s strength through the current matchup.

I’m curious… what is the relative strength of JQ and BG? Can someone not from SoR comment please?

I believe JQ can totally destroy any two of the T2 servers (and definitely DB) on their own. No doubt about it.

Question is, is JQ still better than BG? Or has BG surpassed JQ?

Well since last week was text book SoR/BG/JQ, it’s safe to say that both BG and JQ are each half as strong as SoR. SoR has half the pie for half the day whenever that match up goes on. Possibly longer. The only lead BG gets is SEA. JQ must get a lead in somewhere too because we finished less than 10k apart.

The MOS site is awesome because it shows just how bad the matches at one convenient glance. You’re expecting even matches and when you look at it there’s Crystal Desert/Yak’s Bend/Kaineng having the time of their lives probably… And then there’s everyone else.

Word is a couple of guilds on SoR aren’t too happy about TW’s transfer shenanigans. It isn’t helping the fact that some of those players already felt a little swindled by a false promise of good fights during the guild’s prime time.

Hopefully TW’s obsession with BG doesn’t destroy that #1 NA community. eek.

The obvious answer is to convert the non-obsessed over to their thinking.

The only way matchups would ever be “fair” is if the number of any servers population on any BL was regulated by the largest server population on that BL. So if TC fields 200 people on TCBL then the limit would be 200 for the other two servers. Anet aren’t idiots, they likely know this already but plainly put “fair” is boring. I think we need something in between the RNG junk and a server population limitation.

I think they just don’t care. They know WvW isn’t competitive in the professional gaming sense, so they won’t put in any more effort than they have to. Hopefully they don’t make the same mistake with regards to proper GvG, if they ever get around to it. They already have a shoddy track record when it comes to WvW updates.

I think we should leave DBBL alone for a while and let that JQ v. DB grudge match go on.

Things will settle down after the weekend.

The problem is these servers weren’t so unbalanced before.

SoR was better off with JQ and BG, perhaps with TC replacing JQ, but certainly not SoS. Vizunah and Elona should’ve been in the same match.

Who cares about rating? All most of us want is to enjoy playing the game. When the matches keep screwing servers over it’s really hard to enjoy the game. SoS went from fighting 11th and 12th place and now it’s fighting 1st and 4th place after a week of fighting 4th and 6th place (and not even coming close to winning). This kind of ratings mismatch is incredibly destructive to morale, it’s what pushes people away from sPvP and it’s what pushes people away from WvW. At this rate it could be months before SoS is fighting against similair strength servers, and even if that happens there is a good chance the bizzaro ratings will start mismatching again.

Yeah, ANet screwed you guys over. Man, I thought it would be bad when T1 got matched with T2… But a T7? Best of luck. And well, I hope ANet actually realizes what happened with their new match-making.

SoR didn’t think of balancing the tier when they accepted IRON and began getting blowout wins.

It’s amusing how everything changes with hindsight.

As I recall, when IRON came to SoR the overriding opinion from all posters was that it would balance out the tier. In fact, you can check the posts yourself – the threads are still there.

It did, though. In a way. A handful of people predicted two things would happened, and that the scores now reflect. Firstly, that BG’s extension into EU would be over, and secondly, that SoR would take the lead. Some people from SoR said so themselves – now that they have the EU, their NA doesn’t spend half that time slot recovering territory, and SoR ticks until late PST.

SoR pulled ahead, and BG is now more evenly scored with JQ, like people predicted. It’s clear who has the coverage advantage, but BG and JQ are actually evening out more and more each week.

I’m surprised ANet doesn’t match servers up based on population and coverage trends. I know they have the ability to track queue times and IIRC active players.

Why always consider “Need moar xfers!” as the only option in order to “win”? Why not do wvw workshops and trainings like SoR is doing? Or recruit more wvwers from within your servers? JQ and BG are both FULL at the moment (SoR isn’t even full).

It’s amusing how BG is doing blackouts to get even more guilds.

I mean they are the first server to cry when they lose, first server to gloat when they win, but the last server to try and help balance a tier.

I think it’s pretty safe to say, that you do not need more guilds, just organization. Try doing the right thing and sending your potential recruits to the server that does need them(JQ). At least, SoR refuses transfers and sends them both our way, BG on the other hand cares only about winning it seems and over-stacking their server.

When IRON was looking to transfer, 4 servers including DB were scouted and , at the time BG was actually dominating and SOR was 3rd and hadn’t won a single game in tier 1, i dont recall BG saying no to IRON at the time.

maybe try recruiting wvw guilds rather than PVX guilds for a change.

SOR got 1 guild and BG has got 6-8 guilds including WM,BT. if u still don’t manage to be competitive, rather than recruiting more and more guilds, maybe look at the core problem?

I said no to IRON as soon as I heard them transferring. I recommended them right to SoR, JQ and TC. Even then I realized BG didn’t need to say no as if we were covered. Our apparent EU domination was leftovers from other time zones, but the tier needed a shake up.

It’s kind of pathetic that there are people on this forum so afraid of transfers when I know for a fact most SoR and JQ are thinking, “Bring it on!” The rest of you do your servers no justice.

Also, nice of you to speculate on our queue’s, but there are always one or two borderlands with no queue in NA prime. One of the perks.
