Bag of Wondrous goods got me 3 tokens and like 2 silver.
Yep, this definitely fixes dungeon loot, and trying to make magic find more prominent in dungeons where it doesn’t belong is another great decision.
Seriously, what the hell are they thinking when they implement this kitten?
Are you sure they’re random drops? Because every time I’ve done a dungeon since the update, everyone got a bag from the same boss or chest, every time. We all come out with three bags.
I got an exotic and three rares.
Superior and Major Baelfire.

An old, grizzled man who shaves his legs?
I’m there.
(Subtle thread hijack/joke on why there is only one body hair option for males and it has shaved legs)
Dungeons are a teamwork centric content.
That’s exactly why I don’t mind people wearing MF if they don’t suck.
I know full well the majority of this game is profiting, so I won’t begrudge someone for wanting to kill two birds with one stone. Same as I wouldn’t kick a person because he’s not level 80 in a non-level 80 dungeon.
People helping people.
CoE gets like… a 6. And that’s only if you choose to do Subject Alpha the hard way as a test to see if you can survive the attrition/want a challenge. Otherwise Evolved Destroyer brings the entire dungeon down to 6.
CoF gets a 10. So many (diverse) trash mobs make it fun, and the fact that they’re mixed with silvers and higher is even better. Makes you feel like you’re really storming a stronghold. It requires much more coordination too for moments like the flaming boulders, the four braziers, the exploding orb path, lighting the candles, killing the acolytes, etc.
Same.
What reason is there to do the other dungeons if they don’t offer:
1. The best statted items.
2. Rare materials normally bought with karma for your Legendary
3. 20 slot bags
And so on and so forth… I’m expecting a change to every other dungeon, otherwise RIP, everything but CoF, Arah and AC.
Stats never make or break a dungeon group, so wear it all you want as long as you know what you’re doing.
On the other hand, just ASK a person to show his gear. On the off chance he’s carrying two identical armor sets, then yeah, you’re out of luck.
Because the other characters are written better?
1. Caithe. Seriously, get over her.
2. Zojja. Self-proclaimed genius blames Eir for Snaff’s death. Apparently not smart enough to do anything about it, huh?
3. Rytlock. Replace “Queen Jennah” with “Black Citadel” and he would’ve done the same thing.
4. Eir. Why are you taking crap from a midget…
Also, you HAVE to realize that every encounter between Jennah and Logan, they had to play down their relationship, right?

actually, it may mean highest level of everyone reached
Which is equivalent to the lowest person’s level.

Remove ability to rez defeated players in combat.

People have to be smart about resurrecting and killing downed players.
They do?
Anyway,
1. Give all downed players the same abilities.
2. Limit the number of revivers to one per downed player.
The disparity in levels is normal. You’ll loot at around level the dungeon is set at and the level you are.
Soulbound is a non-issue. Only accessories and the end-of-SM-reward are soulbound. Everything in else in SM and EXP are accountbound.
Only if there’s a toggle for me not to see them.
I’m still trying to find a way to remove permanent floating player names of party members.
Diminishing returns ARE character bound.
The first run of a certain path will get you 60 tokens, and every subsequent run will get you 20 tokens until daily reset or you switch characters.
alpha’s earth wave actually has a point blank aoe component to it, it can’t be stacked or deadzoned. there’s one little aoe about the size of a person’s target ring on the ground right in front of him. someone’s always going to take the hit, it’s just WHO that’s important. as this game has a somewhat sketchy definition of aggro, the best plan is just to spread out around him in melee range.
Uh, yes it can.
Assuming you mean the cone shaped attack of earth spikes, the first ring appears in front of Alpha by like a foot. Which means anyone standing directly on him will take zero damage from the cone-attack.
Everyone should have melee assist checked off in their options anyway.
My points of concern:
1. Simply unfair that crystal doesn’t phase certain classes because they can escape or whatever. All it takes is coordination, sure, but that’s not something you’ll always find in a pug run.
2. Evolved Destroyer is pure tedium. No challenge whatsoever. I think simply switching the sides the platforms are on could help with this. By that I mean take the side with ONE laser and match it with the ONE platform path. And take the side with TWO lasers and match it with the TWO platform paths. Don’t really understand why this isn’t the case already.
(edited by UnrepentantProcrastinator.7420)
You shouldn’t have to do them in the first place.
The “story” in them is not relevant enough to be put into the actual narrative of the personal story, but somehow it’s relevant enough to people who want to farm explorable mode.
Diminishing Returns is character-based.
How it works is that every first run of a path (for that day) will get you 60 tokens. Every subsequent run of the same path will get you 20 tokens.
This is the kind of mentality I don’t understand. Why do the dungeons if you don’t like them? There’s other more efficient less hassle ways to make money plus I don’t really understand the need to insult someone because they enjoy the content and would like others to enjoy it too.
I don’t understand it either. How many times do I have to tell you I don’t enjoy fighting Kholer, for various reasons, before you realize I’m not saying I don’t enjoy the rest of the dungeon?
Even if I didn’t enjoy the dungeon, I may in fact enjoy profiting from it. But that’s not the case. I think I’ve already mentioned that I can’t stand farming Orr. Yes, it’s more efficient, but it’s boring. So I do dungeons instead.
Does that I mean I like for them to take long for no reason? No.
Last I checked a good handful of people like the rewards more than they like the work required to get it. In-game and in real life.

Turn all dungeon gear from Exotic to Ascended
in Suggestions
Posted by: UnrepentantProcrastinator.7420
I agree. I wouldn’t even mind if ANet made you perform a specific quest/feat to get your dungeon armour Ascended/Infused. I’d do it.
As it stands, I feel like I’ve wasted so much time doing these dungeons. I have 2.5 sets of armour and so many weapons, and they took time and effort. In truth I feel like I was better off spending my time farming Orr, rather than playing multiple dungeons, because gold is a ubiquitous currency that I could’ve just used for whatever.
But does it really need to be implemented on the off-chance that you need to visit your T3 vendors? Because after a certain point that’s the only reason to visit your home city.
Non-attack skills shouldn't trigger auto-attack.

Posted by: UnrepentantProcrastinator.7420
First off I use auto-target, this is why it’s a problem for me. But its usefulness outweigh this particularly annoying con.
Nevertheless it’s annoying to see skills that don’t require a target, and aren’t offensive in nature, cause my character to start drawing enemy aggro. My “solution” so far has been to spam mouse 1 at empty area hoping I can remove the autotarget before I attack, and I’ve met with mixed results.
Pets F2 skills make the pet run to the target before using.

Having your pet execute the command at your target offer more control.
How is that true?
If you can execute F2 commands the moment you press them, wherever the pet in, then if you:
Need to howl at an enemy, you simply set it to attack, then press F2.
Need to howl at an ally that isn’t near an enemy, set it to follow, run to the ally and hit F2.
Need to howl at an ally that is between yourself an enemy, set it to attack the enemy, wait for it to reach the ally, and then hit F2.
How is this not more control than:
Having your bear tank a boss, his adds are chasing you as you run circles around the boss, so you switch to wolf thinking you pull out a quick fear howl, but instead of howling he runs away and howls at something else?
Clutch manoeuvres like that are impossible with the current state of pets. And it’s not entirely because of what’s being discussed here. Hell, you can’t even stop your pet from un-prompted skills that end up screwing you over in a tight match.
We have the tools to get the pet from point A to point B. Why should we limit ourselves to casting F2’s at A (when it works) or B, when we could do it from A, B and anywhere in between? How is the former MORE control over the latter?
(edited by UnrepentantProcrastinator.7420)
All this would do is create a horrible system of armor discrimination. Not to mention that people who like magic find would just switch armors after they start the dungeon. I’m under the impression that everyone hating on players who use magic find are just looking for something or someone to blame for their own shortcomings.
.
Of course they are, it’s not like anyone can accurately go, “Oh that guy… that guy must be using MF.” Based on his performance.
(to be fair, his tell – like most mobs – is often obscured by particle effects).
Luckily, it’s like 3 seconds long.
Well for support there are ranger spirits… I know a lot of people say they are bad but I like them. Nature spirit is quite handy at ressing downed allies and other spirits have attacks (chill, immobile, blind, damage) to make enemies life a bit harder if they come close enough (+ the boons spirits give). But that is just my opinion feel free to trash it if it is not to your liking
You have to spec far into that line for it to be of any use, otherwise any encounter with AoE will immediately kill those spirits. Even if they follow you, you have to be VERY far from AoE to drag them out of range. They’re absolutely useless in all of CoE and Arah.
Guardian and Warrior’s have great versatility. You can go offensive, defensive/support, or whatever you want. You can’t go wrong with leveling one of them. They’re both very easy farming classes in Orr.

I’m glad none of my parties have ever been like this forum.
Probably 2-3k worth of tokens all with using MF, no one has said a word. Sigil of Luck right beside my name.
If you enjoy skipping all the fun fights and content just to get some silvers that your choice true but I think it’s sad that you can’t see the enjoyment of doing fights like Kholer.
Yes, of course you will understand how the game mechanics works when you’ve done CoE but at the time we did the fight people weren’t high enough level to do CoE (Well for the most part).
Nobody knew what dungeons were like, how to deal with the mechanics. It was all figured out as we went along from dungeon to dungeon. We learnt the dungeons the hard way without guidance.
As for loot, to me it’s mostly a bonus for doing the fun content. Still after hundreds of times doing dungeons I do them for fun. Sure I like and want the reward just as much as the next person but it’s not the reason of doing dungeons. I can get those same rewards elsewhere.
I think it’s sad that you somehow, for some reason, expect me to enjoy the same things you do. And in this case that thing is repeating an action that is time consuming, unchallenging and unrewarding.
Is it so hard for you to grasp that when people want something, they want it quickly and efficiently? And also that I can’t possibly enjoy a the 90% of the rest of the dungeon because I didn’t do one optional boss?
And why is it you seem to think you learning how to defeat Kholer is somehow more of a feat than me learning to defeat Kholer? Did we not both engage him, recognize the telegraph for his scorpion wire, and learn to dodge appropriately? Where is the challenge in repeating that fight, over and over again, when me and four others want silver and tokens?
Or do you believe that progress in the form of itemization is enjoyed by such a niche group of people in MMO’s?
I’m sorry, but don’t tell me what’s fun and challenging. I know where to get my fun and challenge in GW2. And it’s not from Kholer.
I like that numbers on my gear decide I can’t do a dungeon because an invisible death ray is constantly being pointed at me while I’m in it.
Why on earth are you even doing dungeons if you don’t enjoy the content if you skip bosses. Especially an awesome boss fight like Kholer, he’s one of the better ones.
Uh, the loot, maybe? As far as I know the Kholer fight doesn’t change after the first time you do it. None of the dungeons does.
Also I needed one look at Kholer’s scorpion wire to figure out the “tactics”/to dodge. After doing many CoE’s before then, having a boss with actual telegraphs was child’s play.
Did it earlier today it seemed as easy as usual.
I like my dungeons to take unnecessarily long, so I always fight Kholer.
Amusingly, I did one meet a person who didn’t even know you could get around Kholer, despite claiming to have done the dungeon numerous times.
I was wondering what was taking so long so I popped open my map and saw his dot run right towards Kholer moments before rage quitting.
What’s so bad about TA explorable? Too easy?
I’d say CM is the worst for both. Too hard. Guys with snipers do too much damage too frequently.
For the cone attack at range, simply be behind him, or be in front of him and dodge left and right. For close combat, you’ll notice that the spike starts a foot in front of him, so just clip into him and it’ll miss you entirely.
For the double-circle AoE:
4/5 people will have the inner circle safe, so they can just stand in spot, and the outer ring dangerous, it will pop a ring of earth spikes.
For the one unlucky person, they will have an inner circle that is dangerous and an outer ring that’s safe, so it’s literally a matter of strafing left and right to avoid damage.
You never need to be outside both the red circles for that AoE attack. Just strafe left and right.
I don’t really understand why end-game (for the most part) content is locked in this way.
But a couple of points and questions:
1. Is there a way to trigger explorable mode with one character, switch and re-enter with another without having everyone kicked out of the instance? I feel like I’ve left a dungeon before, having triggered it myself, and it didn’t result in everyone being removed from the instance. Is there a way to replicate this, or am I misremembering?
2. Why does it exist? Why do we have to play a sometimes completely unrelated story/instance to get to the real rewards, and why do we have to do it with alternate characters as well? Storymode in dungeons like CoE have little resemblance to their explorable versions, so in that case and some others, it’s certainly not serving as some sort of tutorial for said dungeon.
OP talks like a guy who has never even tried to get into a dungeon, let alone play one.
Those issues are all negligible or avoidable.
I’d be fine if it just removed the pet, to be perfectly honest.
It’s its own trade off.
Minor hijack: it would be nice if the dance commands weren’t race specific. Maybe I want my Asura to do the Haka. Why can’t there be an /haka command?
I’m a fan of more slash commands in general.
Probably because they never animated the charr to do the haka.
I for one, seeing his behaviour, thoroughly enjoy the fact that Blighton apparently lost 5 hours of game time.
Ain’t I a stinker?
I feel as though Wolfgrey wanting to tell us his opinion on this game doesn’t warrant its own thread, let alone one that outright state the majority of the player base is somehow wrong.
You can easily run or kill your way there. It’s not that difficult.
If for whatever reason you’re finding it too difficult… Just swim along the coast and run south when you reach the invisible wall in the water. There are far fewer enemies that route.
And I have to say, if you’re finding it too difficult now, you may be okay in Straits of Malchor, as there are fewer enemies, but in Cursed Shore you’re in for a whollop.
Or maybe I should title this thread: How do I completely get rid of my pet forever because it’s frustrating me to no end?
Basically… The pet getting hit draws you into combat speed = slow. Hard jumping puzzle.
Anyway, I persisted and turns out… There’s nothing in the chest.
(edited by UnrepentantProcrastinator.7420)
Engineer was my first character… I scrapped it after level 30. I found the redeeming qualities of the Engineer to be the Elixir Gun, and Elixirs in general and the Grenade Kit.
I made that Engineer for turrets too, but I couldn’t stand how completely useless they were. Too fragile, immediately drawing aggro, unable to focus fire, unable to hold fire, and sometimes just shooting at nothing for no apparent reason.
As for the topic at hand. It’s been discussed over and over that the Engineer should get a cooldown reduction for picking up his turrets and redeploying them, rather than destroying them. But that should be the last thing ANet works on with regards to the turrets.
