How is US t1 now?. Any guilds actually running in 20-30 man or is it all on 1 commander 24/7 60-100 man blobs all week?. Making usual excuse for being bad its not gvg its wvw… From reading first few pages seems fair few guilds interested in some GvG. How are the EU hours?. How is the lag etc?.

Every server blobs. It seems to be a curse for the NA servers in general though. Everyone wants to follow the commander they know will give them the loot bags so yeah….It’s a downside and I hope it actually stops at one point. As for the GvGs, not alot of guilds want to do GvG…well I should say there are quite a bit that are up for it in T1, but not nearly as many as EU has. TW has been trying to months to setup GvGs and while we have some guilds that step up to the plate we feel as if no one wants to do them in general except for a select few.

I think it’s more the case that WvW is such a dinky excuse for GvG.

ANet shot itself in the foot by not having GvG at launch.

There’s a reason SoR is the only server to get #1 without the FULL status and the only server that has gone up the highest number of ranks to get to #1.

It’s only a matter of time.

Back when BG hit “Full”, SoR was already going back and forth between “Very High” and “Full”. Before IRON transferred to SoR, SoR reaching the cap every now and then. Not nearly as often as BG and JQ. BG now is almost permanently Full. Whereas JQ then was almost permanently Full. JQ now is actually Full less often than BG. Which isn’t saying much. It’s still hard as kitten to transfer to either server.

I played for several months on Blackgate server and now I’ve spent a little over two weeks on SoR and I have to say that I think there are some pronounced differences between the way each server operates on multiple levels so it’s turned out to be more than just forum rhetoric.

Interesting, what do you think are the biggest differences? I always imagine SoR is more militaristic.

WvW is a three way match. It pretty much invites a double team when one server has a significant advantage. It’s a better setup than a consistent 1v1, which has no such balancing mechanism for when one side gains an advantage.

I would argue that people who fail to form allies of convenience when outmatched are failing to play the game as intended.

Which is everyone, I’m afraid. For whatever reason people never attack the most stacked server, even when they’re most stacked.

No one did it to BG before IRON came along. No one does it SoR now. And no one really did it to JQ around the time/before WM came to BG.

The weirdest thing too is that the time zones were pretty much divided, so it wasn’t some cut throat “double team as soon as someone has +5 more than the others 24/7” scenario. Each server had a time zone advantage. So I’m surprised after soooooo long in T1 we didn’t just come to an unspoken agreement to double team SoR during EU/NA and BG during SEA, for example.

At least then no one can run away with the score.

I hope next weeks match ups aren’t too bad. I figure who ever gets stuck with SoR is in for it, but if the new match ups with JQ and BG just turn into HoD-level steamrolling ANet is just going to do more harm than good for WvW. But… that wouldn’t be new.

I think at this point everyone just wants GvG, but ANet would pretty much just sign the death warrant on WvW if they released it.

Are they at least implementing different starting positions next week?

I just received word that EMP left JQ to DB is that so when SoR knocks BG out of T1 JQ will have ties with DB via EMP so they can take out the behemoth SoR. They decided to goto DB once they heard words of talk between SoR and the IRON BEHEMOTH from EU and that this is the only way to stop the BEHEMOTH SoR brought to the NA. I’m very excited and cannot wait for DB to take BG spot because we need to take the behemoth out and teach him his place and that NA is no place for a EU BEHEMOTH. Its great timing as well because the living story should be over and done with so our numbers will be fierce and mighty SoR will be nothing but an insect compared to us with this great timing.

The thing is…. They should’ve have seen this coming. There’s literally no excuse for not realizing what putting that many people in that time zone will do to the balance of T1. Particularly for SoR. Not really a complaint. They would have elevated any server in any tier the same way, but it’s an extra daunting given that SoR can take immediate advantage of the new siege mechanics as soon as their EU logs off and is replaced by an even more populated NA.

There was literally no way to avoid this while still transferring to NA.

Choo transferred off and went to dragonbrand. TW decided to form a love marriage with SF and go to TC. FEAR decided to join Viz to help them against Elona. Tsym went back to SoS, BG bought the remaining EMP after KnT left to HoD and ICoa merged with RISE. This had no effect on the score though, and firmly reinforces the theory that pugs carried all the servers to tier 1. PUG POWER

Well, that’s a problem because BG loves TC. Back off, home wreckers.

Hope some guilds after a real challenge go to jq and keep the server going. Would be quite difficult fighting the numbers currently running in t1.

For some reason (casts a conspiratorial glare at ANet) JQ is locked in a “FULL” state now, even with the transfers we’ve had off. Used to be there were times of the day it would fall to “Very High”, but something changed.

(BG is also apparently “FULL” locked, but they’ve had an influx compared to JQ having had some players leave.)

It would be horrible if things were being tweaked behind the scenes like that. ANet did say they were working on ways to shake things up, so I just may need my first roll of tin-foil.

I am willing to put up my left testicle that either the server status is broken, it has no relation to WvW player population or there is tampering going on. And just to point out, my leftie is my bestie. Its the baby maker for sure.

Defense-wise, mortars overshoot too often. It forces players to awkwardly use mortars on the other side of the fort or even go to an adjacent tower and use its mortars.

You also say that WM was doing overtime. Meaning that last week no three servers had a natural EU presence.

You can’t overcome 12 hours of PPT dominance. If IRON is allowing them to tick for 400 earlier than 12 PM, and SoR usually is at 300 until at least 12 AM, then… Well that was predicted. SoR should be high 300’s on average at NA prime now that they don’t have to work on expansion and upgrades, as EU will be delivering all that to the already strongest NA server. And of course, with the new AC meta…

Thanks for the fights IRON/HIRE/NYS, tbh we kinda did see the IRON tag and follow you around the map because I wanted to push you so you would push back. Nice to see IRON is pretty solid on open field, I just hope that they play more independently as opposed to the current SoR Meta of blobing it up in oceanic (I know it wasn’t your primetime) and disregarding all other maps. Yep that full map zerg that you have to bait and switch every night is actually a large group of mesmers right? Nah, and we’ll never GvG HIRE as there generally needs to be a tad of respect there to do so – and we’ve received nothing but trash from your guild and we’d prefer to play WvW.

We’d only GvG if there was an organized and balanced GvG mode in the game, there are a couple of guilds I wouldn’t mind doing it with (IRON, NYS, SF, FOO, ATM etc) but HIRE is not self sufficient as you need another force to do anything (ala. can only fight when outnumbering enemies and running to towers when numbers are equal) so I don’t see why you’re in a situation to try and make demands.

Anyway, I don’t speak for the guild on a large level as I am only one of the few commanders in the guild and only comment upon what I see ingame. You can keep your delusional crap to yourself.

As for SoR not blobbing up… Why do people deny it so adamantly? We all know it happens to every server. SoR was particularly infamous for it before we even came into T1. You may as well deny using AC’s.

Screenshots like this exist for every server. So you can deny it all you want, but we all have proof that everyone does everything.

If WvW were designed to be competitive, then yeah. It’s basically just a join-in-do-whatever game mode though.

If you want standardized gear and levels in PvP, play sPvP or wait until GvG comes out. WvW is and will never be what you want it to be.

Even with the RawNoodles taking a portion of EMP from us, has it drop from full? No. We’ve had the outmanned buff on many occasions recently. Has this drop us from full? No. So where is the logic in this assumption that we’re stacked with “WvW players”?

… Stacked refers only to WvW. No one uses the term to refer to PvE players. By convention all T1 servers are stacked in their own right.

Heh, no, not mistaken. The stack of badges in my inventory tells why we’re still ticking fairly well. When we’re trebbing inner Bay (help by SoR) and BG sends the zerg to take out our treb then leave… that’s a little obvious. When not one structure other than Briar and Bay get attacked the entire evening (save a couple camps), that’s obvious. But that’s ok, live in denial if you wish. The respect I had for your two servers and what you’ve accomplished in T1, that’s lost. Not that you’re capable of caring.

No one ever does that. They like to post in a manner implying that their server never portal bombs and or never fails. I still remember last-last week where JQ relentlessly failed portal bombing our trebs north of NE tower on BL. Those were good times, and many bags were had. But I try to keep that stuff to myself rather than gloat.

This gentleman and his guild are new transfers to Blackgate. They are by the very definition of the word bandwagoning to the top server. This gentleman and some of his guildmates in their 2nd week in the match up went on to these forums and started bashing every guild on SoR including our flagship guild TW.

TW took it as a challenge and has stacked into EB all week, a borderland they have never gone to before, just to fight these guys. Now after 4 days of getting what was coming to him he’s running like a coward….

3 guilds of 150 members…. Can you imagine the damage they could do if DB didn’t pay up? They could effectively lock out two BL’s by AFKing indefinitely provided each has a macro function on their mouse or keyboard. Or do nothing but run around with fireworks until your PPT drops to nothing and both the other servers have a 20k lead.

As for rawnoodles, if he did tell you he was moving, then he did give you advanced warning…. Not sure what you’re trying to say here. Was he supposed to tell you he was going to tell you he was going to transfer?
