Even though it was WM that was carrying kaineng in tier 2? Imagine what a difference it would have made to have ZDs go to say… mag, or sos? Sure they couldent beat tier 1 servers still, but it would be enough to put TC in a tight spot if the three ever got matched together again. Tier 1 will still never be compared to lower tiers, but that dosent mean you have to prey on lower tiers to fuel your terribly stupid arms race. (example being before leagues)

That was exactly my point with Kaineng. All ZDs and IRON would’ve accomplished by transferring to any non-T1 server (except maybe TC) is inflate that servers score (by PvDing) until they got to T1 and then get stomped.

In fact, them being in T1 actually made T2 and lower more stable, as the player distribution was primarily NA.

ANet ruined all this by using Leagues rather than ladder. The distribution of players since the start of the year was naturally going towards even matches, until ANet decided to pair mismatched servers.

I guarantee you if it was still ladder, you wouldn’t even care about “balance” and the state of T1. Because it wouldn’t have affected you. Not with ANet’s ridiculous Leagues idea, it’s become a point of contention.

Because they can’t…

No single guild can move to T2 or less Gold League and suddenly make 5 servers able to compete with T1.

On the other hand, before Leagues, anyone could move into T1 and be in competitive environment immediately. Now there’s only a likelihood of being regularly matched with a T1 server, which is ANet’s fault more than it is any server or guild.

Even if WM, IRON and every other major guild transfer since BG hit T1 came together before they even transferred and decided to divide themselves among the top 6 or 8 (excluding current T1), it still wouldn’t be as competitive (and in some cases not competitive at all ie. Kaineng) as T1 was last week.

Balancing the top 6 (as some people wanted before Leagues) requires too many people to do too much.

Anyone throwing “T1 NA” around like it still means anything doesn’t get a thing. “T1 NA” is the top SIX servers. Yes, this season BG faces SoR a lot. But notice JQ over there? Yes, HALF their season are blowouts because all the “competition” is in three servers.

Next season maybe BG gets 5 weeks of facing #4-5-6. Nobody knows. You want to “find fights”? Keep joining the weakest servers until the top 6 are reasonably balanced. There you go, FIGHTS EVERY WEEK.

Logic too stronk. Then again flocking to bloated servers to let your guilds slowly die from queues and lack of interest seems to be the top plan nowadays.

The top 6 will never be reasonably balanced. You’re talking about several thousand (assuming daily turnout is only a fraction of roster size) international players distributing themselves evenly throughout all of them. That is stupidly optimistic.

Stacking T1, even with Leagues, still makes more sense for a guild or individual than expecting miraculous coverage for the rest of them.

If it becomes a problem, ANet will realize Leagues is stupid (seriously, it’s completely counter to what they said at the launch of the game, and that’s the reason why T1 servers are in this predicament) and remove it. Or the game will die.

Warrior has the simplest burst damage out of all of them, and you’ll be fine 1v1.

Thieves have it easiest, and you’ll fair better in outnumbered situations, but it requires more work than Warrior, which can basically be played on autopilot.

WM did OT and BG was ticking at 400+ PPT during EU pretty much every day. That’s why IRON transferred when they did. It was pretty justified, too. KISS came out of no where, so there’s not much to say about that, but they aren’t a prescense anymore.

I wouldn’t consider transferring to a time zone with no native pop. justified. Also pretty peculiar for people who claim to play for the fights. Point is, IRON didn’t end up fighting Euros when they transferred (or anyone, for that matter. The new BG strat after IRON transferred was to exploit “Hawaiin time”). The match histories don’t lie. Luckily, HB got rezzed soon after.

I’d really like to know about this as well. ZDS, BuLL, WIC: why did you pick T1 servers over TC/Mag/SoS?

It can’t be because of “competition” because they’d get even more of it had they not gone to T1. It can’t be because they’d have people to fight/co-ordinate with because TC/Mag/SoS are all capable of having a decently sized force during EU prime.

So why?

ZDs went to BG and BuLL (sort of) and WIC went to SoR. These two servers have the highest EU population in NA, and are stuck together for or 5 weeks. Why would they not go there?

You can’t be serious…..if I recall correctly bg was the only NA server to have ANY EU guilds playing on it. It was a couple also. The bg SEA/EU push would end the sor/bg matchup on day one. 17 straight wins over sor (early 2013).
Iron was the first eu guild to play on sor and we were the third place server at the time.

Then HB went inactive leaving just RK to contend with massive IRON zergs. HB came back although with scheduled sporadic runs and SoR’s EU has been dominant ever since.

so IRON moves to a server where RK and HB are there to fight and then they go inactive and you think you would have the same numbers to fight? Cmon common sense, reason why IRON had more is cause you lost a big euro guild, plain and simple. IRON is the only major guild 30+ members to join sor at the euro time slot. ask yourselves what major guilds have moved to your server and there numbers. SoR is used to waking up in NA to see it all flipped. we have fought through it before and it is nothing new.

HB was inactive before IRON transferred over, and RK is like a third of their numbers.

It’s obvious that IRON were uncontested in that time zone, just look at their PPT the first week they were there.

What really happened was that EU was empty for all three servers, more or less, and that BG was winning because after gaining ground in SEA (a far more populated time zone with SoR and JQ), no one was there to flip anything for the next couple of hours as we transitioned into EU. When IRON joined SoR’s EU, they were flipping things uncontested and holding them until we transitioned into SoR’s stacked NA. Hence, their winning.

HB and RK can match IRON’s numbers together like every second day, and still SoR got more EU. KISS, when they transferred, could field 30+ as well. BG relied on late PST/early OCX to counter the double time zone stack of SoR EU/NA.

I’m surprised that people have forgotten. All of this was well documented in the thread QQ’s at the time. Within a month or so 1st place changed hands from JQ to BG to SoR. First with WM, then with IRON.

The line can only be drawn at BG/JQ buying to win the season instead of playing through with what you had. Servers should have been locked. SoR were hoping JQ/BG wouldnt get anymore guilds as it was evenly balanced but they had to ruin the fun and PvD to win instead of fight to win.

If servers were locked when Leagues were announced, BG would’ve won anyway. MERC was still on the server, JQ was still bleeding guilds, and SoR was still hardcore Fractals server… But I agree with you, T1 should have been locked. At the very least the achievement hunters and single transfers would’ve been stuck elsewhere.

If only we were red this week, the commie stuff would be on full throttle.

Lol Monsoon, no offense to your server, but Blackgate seriously blew it big time in week 1. You are all touting how smart you guys are and how you got 1st, but if you glance at the spreadsheet above you will see why JQ wanted a different outcome in week 1.

JQ wanted this result at the end of week 1: BG 1st, JQ 2nd, SoR 3rd. We knew you guys couldn’t handle SoR in any of your matchups, and handing SoR a 3rd place would of made it tougher for them to take first in league. Instead in all your brilliance you guys decided to hardcore 2v1 JQ after we caught up within 2k points of SoR and pretty much handed SoR league gold.

It’s funny though, because now that BG is losing hard to SoR in week 2, and actual spreadsheets have been posted with actual matchup results math, most people on BG have finally realized how badly they screwed up. SoR took you guys for a huge ride.

Adhering to the assumptions provided with the spreadsheet above, JQ coming in 2nd in Week 1 doesn’t make a difference, it’s still 27/27/29 in favour of a server that isn’t BG.

Aside from us forcing the fight on you guys (in the keeps) every open field fight is pretty much you taking off in a different direction. The few that we do get it’s pretty much due to you having a wall or something to stand behind. I would’ve said you were waiting on superior numbers to attack, but even that’s not the case.

If your new tactic is to bore the few SoR players that we can muster up in Oceanic time to leave the map so you can PvD, it’s working pretty well.

SoR is still likely to win if they can replicate their PST-SEA stick from the weekend. Doesn’t matter if BG makes up 10k in EU/NA if SoR gains another at night, especially since they’re still ahead.

I’m on Blackgate and I’ve never seen anything like this past week before. The Scumbag plays that are happening in t1 NA are unbelievable. We and Sanctum of Rall are actively refusing to fight each other and we are both covering each others keeps, towers, supply camps etc.

Last night people were so mad that JQ came within a couple thousand points of 2nd that players from both our servers used voice comms to better communicate our push against an extremely smaller force of JQ even compared to 1 of our servers not let alone both. I heard about the abuse of voice comms earlier in the week but last night was the 1st time I actually heard it for myself. We even responded to defend SoR’s keep while they were across the map and another time we didn’t attack them while they capped a keep.

I haven’t seen this level of try hard since the idiots of old that super stacked servers like Sea of Sorrows and Henge of Denravi months ago making t1 WvW a complete joke.

If you’re trying to make BG and SoR look bad, you’re doing a terrible job. That sounds like the most impressive thing I’ve ever heard come out of WvW. If it’s true, kudos to all of you. At least something productive came out of this League mess.

Actually the OP was complaining specifically about the outcome of leagues and how they believe JQ has an easier path to victory, rather than about wanting to fight JQ for additional “gudfights”:

Not sure why JQ gets week 2 3 and 4 without SoR or BG, and SOR only gets week 5 and BG week 6 with out the two other teir 1 servers.

With points going to first place, and a guaranteed win for any Tier 1 server fighting two Tier 2 servers, it will give JQ 3 guaranteed wins worth of points.

So the Mag and SoS comment is perfectly valid. Mag and SoS are in this league with absolutely 0% chance to win and yet aren’t kittening at ALL because they’re just happy to have outnumbered fights.

So, as someone from Mag, I would kindly ask you to shove your complaints as far up your colon as possible because we couldn’t care less whether you have to try harder than JQ to get 1st. All of the T1 servers are way overbloated with keyboard turning bandwagoners anyway, and each of the T1 servers win simply by throwing maximum bodies possible at any problems they encounter in WvW.

SoR should stack more if they don’t want to get double teamed. What happened the last two nights was an improvement, and probably at least locked JQ out of 1st place. It allowed BG to hold onto the lead despite JQ’s PPT during SEA/OC. 300-200-100 is always better than the 400-100-100 that was happening.

JQ used a similar strategy to leech points (and split the PPT 300-200-100) rather than 2v1’ing SoR’s NA with BG for several matches months ago. As I recall, SoR scoffed at the idea that BG was being 2v1’d.

BG couldn’t hold its weight during NA, and were a more appealing target. SoR seems to be in the same boat in SEA/OC.

Also less than 10k difference can be made up if BG and SoR aren’t vigilant. JQ’s new SEA/OC has closed that gap easily before.

Doubt it’s the case with JQ getting special treatment, despite the fact that I’ve experienced the exact same thing with JQ players being able to execute deliberate skills while everyone is lagging (Once had a garrison battle where BG and SoR were on the roof doing nothing to each other because of the lag, and then JQ comes up and was somehow able to not only attack, but land melee knock backs on people) . If it was, this game is stupider than I thought.

Everyone knows the real T1 match up is JQ, ET and HoD.

Just give them that for 7 weeks.

Do these 30 min+ queues actually exist, or is it another case of people not being able to count, like the 20 man blobs? Because not since HoD at launch has queue exceeded half an hour, even on weekends…

If you’re a true roamer, roaming mastery would be like:

20 Pts, do not receive Orb buffs.

The only doebleteam BG gets , is the one they call upon themselves for using incredibly stupid tactics at times. Like whe we push SoR garrison, you try to backdoor our Hills ..ofcourse we’ll retaliate… Just to name an example.

It’s also crazy to see people still point out that JQ has ‘amazing coverage’ and is ‘overstacked’ wile we’re only 10k ahead of the 2nd team and 20k ahead of 3rd 10hrs before reset. Must be they have near the same coverage and level of stacking, no?

Overall great and awesome fights this week, with the 10 omega golems BG used as defensive siege earlier today as a personal climax in terms of fun :-)

The only reason JQ isn’t 100k above either team is because, like with BG before, the two opposing servers cancel your leads. And if I recall, BG was stacked then, wasn’kitten

yes. you guys are good at that. we, sor outmanned but we fight hard. we made rg retire early. we made gd leave server. we made prx retire early and the good ones comes over to us. we made wm not want to do wvw. we dominate most of the top guilds. can’t you see the pattern? you fight against sor, you will end up quitting soon. resistance is futile. come over to sor and feel our power.

Yea RG definitely quit cause of SoR got us there.

TA also looked into the future and saw the future strength of SoR forming and quit too, and also the collapse of SoS was due to SoR also.

This was the best part of this thread so far.
