Isn’t it about time people finally learned how to spell Sylvari?
I mean they are the main thing for 2 and a half years in this game.
And I still see all over the place (in game and on the forums) people spelling them as Slyvari and Silvary. How hard can it be to learn one new word?

Same bug that can happen when you take fall damage, your character hits the floor flat and starts to glide on it’s stomach. Usually until he falls off of the next cliff to his death Annoying as hell.

I think you have to be level 15 to see it.

I swear Zojja sounded so not like Zojja. Even though it’s confirmed that Felicia Day voiced her in the season finale I still can’t believe it. The voice was so different.

If I remember correctly there was a short story about Marjory and how she chased some necromancer who killed someone who was about to tell her some secret. After he escaped E came from behind her and put a dagger on her neck or hand on mouth or both I can’t remember, told her he was a friendly and gave her some info and simply vanished. If you did Crucible of Eternity you’ve known for 2 years that Sylvari were actually dragon minions not to be trusted.

Better put all Sylvari to the torch. I’ve been in support of that since oh, LS season 1 when Scarlet was revealed.

Yeah lets burn every race that has at least one evil person in their race (Let’s go with Scarlet being evil, I still have think they will reveal her as someone trying to do good but in a different way) aaaaand the world would be empty.

There’s a big difference here. You are not people. You are dragon minions. You are constructs. You are not born, you are created as an imitation. Knowledge is planted into your head, and you act on it. You do not learn your own perspective and choose your own path, your path is set before you, you are programmed.

The only difference is what knowledge was planted into your head prior to the Dragon’s Awakening was Ventari’s Teachings rather than the instructions of the Dragon.

Now the Dragon is awake, and able to reprogram Sylvari to serve him.

This isn’t a case of a few bad apples. This is the case of all Sylvari being vulnerable to corruption from the Dragon.

Also in other cases, people make conscious CHOICES to be evil but each person of you know ACTUAL people, Asura, Charr, Norn, Human, Tengu, Quaggan, Kodan, Skritt, Largos, even Krait (in their case it’s a cultural difference), each individual makes their own choices, so yes, it’s wrong to judge that entire group of people by the actions of one or a few.

However, Sylvari are not entities of free will and choice, they are constructs, they are programmed with a “wild hunt” which they are compelled to fulfill. Their life isn’t one of making choices, but one of obligation to fulfill their programming.

… and a Dragon can program them however he wishes.

This is not yet proven. No one in game can you find yet that the dragon can corrupt/reprogram all sylvari. Sylvari have free will, which was proven so many times, some decide to be good little boys and girls and follow the rules, others don’t. That is still free will no matter what you decide.

They are not constructs, no one is making them piece by piece, they actually are born. Not from a gaping kitten but from a tree, they are still born.

This might be something to consider if you can only choose one race in the game. And never again have the option to make your alts anything else than that.
And even if that happened those people wouldn’t feel lonely or angry. They would make sylvari only guilds and they would do stuff together so, it would even be more fun that way for them.

I’m surprised they didnt give us an item that lets us replay it over and over. Cause we need more stuff to take up our inventory slots!

Adding that at the end of the fight you see someone with a spear killing a non-sylvari guy. This person somehow reminded me of Foalain (leader of the nightmares).

Pretty sure it was Faolain, and there were weird stuff growing from her, so I suppose she went full mordrem. Guess we are going to kill her soon-ish.
Unless Caithe intends to use the egg as a “cure” somehow, but I don’t think that it is likely to be any cure for this kind of stuff.

I’ll take a closer look again at that trailer but I’m pretty sure nothing weird is growing out of her, looked to me like TA shoulders that she always wears.

There are spiky vines growing out of her back, that’s not the TA shoulders since they are leaves, not spikes. Also, seconds later, you can see BOTH the TA shoulders and the spiky vines (it is easier to see when it zooms in).

I kinda find the name interesting, Shadow of the Dragon. For me he really is only a shadow now. I am talking about everything else that happened in this episode, like all over the place, except him. At moments I totally forget about him.
As much as I enjoyed the fight mechanics I can’t shake off the feeling that he was added to the end of that missions just cause of gameplay. God forbid it ended without a boss fight.

I’m sorry if this is common knowledge to people or it was said but simply can’t find anything about it so here goes.

In the trailer we see Canach fighting off some humans(?), defending himself, saying that he is not the enemy. So clearly the world of Tyria knows that Mordremoth is controlling some sylvari now. My question is how?

The Pact went to attack Mordremoth, they all, well, wiped. No one came back to tell what happened there. Sure people will realize the Pact failed since there will be no word, no one returning and so on, maybe even investigate and find the ruins of the ships.

So how exactly will the people of Tyria figure out that sylvari turned on the Pact and was eventually their doom? Only us the players know of this cause we saw the cinematic, no one else did. Not to mention the fact that sylvari are minions of Mordremoth is such a black deep secret that only Caithe, Scarlet, Wynne and Pale Tree knew about it. Others can’t make that connection.

Even if the sylvari that are under his command reached out and started doing no good wouldn’t it be common sense for Tyrians to think that they are just Nightmare Court up to no good? Cause we do see Faolain being… well Faolain.

Only good solution (and a funny one) that would spread this information like wildfire would be social media, I can already picture the Pact falling of the ships, and just before they do they take a selfie and post on Facebook #traitorsylvari #yolo #nomakeup #eirishot

If this was hard content I would actually do it more often. But cause it’s RNG content, I will just get the coat boxes eventually and never come back.

Do you mean the crippling rocks? Some dust starts to pile up on one side of the arena, the rocks will come from there.

There are entire tribes of Norn who are willingly and openly joining Jormag, and no one seems to care about that… but 2 slvari get converted into dragon minions and now all of a sudden ALL slyvari are evil?

What about the 1000’s of Charr who became minions of the crystal dragon? Why aren’t all Charr considered evil?
What about the millions of humans t hat became undead minions? Why aren’t all humans evil? wouldn’t it have been better to burn every human in existence to prevent them from becoming minions of Zhaitan?

The fact that they say this kind of stuff, that “Trahearne stole our glory” and that the “Sylvari are traitors” just shows how much of the story they ignore and how many dialogues they skip, and quite frankly ANet should tell the story for people that actually care to pay attention to it, not for them.

Exactly. I don’t want them to make their story based on what those type of players want in game. It would be horrible if things went with “They want Trahearne dead, ok so lets kill him and our players will love us”.

Glad somebody asked. Been brainstorming about it and played/rewatched the cutscenes but can’t see any trace of Scarlet. Is there something in that area that can be linked to Scarlet. (Seen some stuff laying around).

I understand that Scarlet knew the fate of sylvari, or their ‘destiny’. I guess I didn’t what to be so specific cause of SPOILERS and all but here it comes.

I was wondering how Scarlet knew that Caithe killed Wynne. She specifically said “I know your dark secret”.

We already have the full set, I don’t know what you are on about.

Jokes aside, yeah they said that. Didn’t we get an epilogue at the end of Season 1, Aftermath or something was it called.

Let’s face it, when I get all 3 of those (2 actually cause you get one for the first kill), I will probably never do it again. People will start to leave. And in a couple of months no one will be doing it. We saw how little people was in the Silverwastes at Wintersday. And the new players/returning players won’t be able to get the chests in a couple of months.

I also thought it was a possibility that Caithe didn’t kill her. Maybe made her heart stop with her dagger poison or something and revived her when Faolain left. But then she said that the Pale Tree felt Wynne die so yeah…

Rox only said that she goes to his office or somewhere to ask if there are any word, occasionally. But that’s it from what I could find.

I don’t think anyone important died on that crash (no, not even dear Marshal, hopefully), and our little gang will probably go look for our missing friends first thing on the next update. Well, maybe we will have to rescue Canach from the Seraph first. Then we go after them.

No, we will have 7 episodes of doing things all over the world, and on the season finale of the third season will we actually go find them.

Yeah I also tried it a couple of times and still didn’t get it (not counting the one you get from the achievement when you kill it the first time).
I heard that it can also drop from the Bandit Chests (not 100% sure yet). So I went and opened 30 (cause I have a lot of crests and can’t buy the coat is annoying as hell). But so far in those 30 that I opened I only got the Boot Box… yey.

You probably need to finish the event in the village, the one where they try to steal supplies. I just waypointed there last night and the Cook was there.

I personally am taking a break as well, until I finish all grind that Anet gave us in PvE with this patch. So yeah could be that. Many decent+ PvP players go to PvP when there is nothing to do in PvE, myself included.

Only the sylvari that got close to Mordy got corrupted. Canach never did so he said “We are not the monsters”, he is still fighting for his freedom.

And all the corrupted sylvari had red eyes (as far as I could see). Faolain didn’t. Which means Mordy didn’t corrupt the Nightmare Court. He allowed them to keep their free will as long as they do what they do in his name now.

I laughed so hard when CureForLiving.5360 said “what’s his name”, that is so true. I remember names good so I remembered his but only barely. For a first corrupted sylvari we see (not counting Scarlet), he was so unimportant.

And about the ill will toward the sylvari, it already started after season 1. When you entered the ruins of Lions Arch as a sylvari player, and go to the board where the names of the dead/missing are, and talk to a few NPCs there they pretty much tell you to kitten off or they will kill you. Stuff like “My father died cause of your race! I kittening hate you!”.

It also crossed my mind when I watched Wynne die, like wait, is Riannoc still alive or dead here? He has to be alive in this memory, does that mean Wynne actually didn’t die? Caithe maybe put her to sleep or something.

But then she said that the Pale Tree felt Wynne’s death and such. And that the memory of it entered the Dream! Doesn’t that some newborn sylvari will wake up with that memory at some point? How come no one has yet?

It does progress but it’s buggy, cause the mobs get stuck outside of the gate fighting Logan for example on the southgate and he can never die, so a bit of push pull of the mobs makes it progress, worked twice for me (helped a friend get the achies). Also tried to go all the way back to make Logan teleport to us but that didn’t work. Something similar happens at the north gate.

Why don’t the Mordem count towards the Plant Slayer achievement?
Are they not plants? Or will they get their own achievement?
Maybe now that the sylvari are under the control of Mordremoth we can kill some and they’ll count towards the Plant Slayer achievement

Speaking of sylvari I find it unfair how people call them traitors now. Like they purposely betrayed us. They had no say in the matter. And honestly they don’t get the credit they deserve. Sylvari in general did so so much in Guild Wars 2. If it wasn’t for them Zhaitan would still be around for starters.

I do agree that the constant spotlight on the sylvari through the lore of Guild Wars 2 tends to get… boring… Well maybe not boring but something in between "We want more diversity, give us something good and big on the Norn, or Asuras or Charr (no, Rytlock trying to cleans Ascalon is not big enough until you expand on it with a whole season only for that).

I thought it was a new voice actor. Didn’t sound like Felicia Day to me.
