I hope they won’t add anything like this. The dc’s are great! They are the only way for me to jump into full maps shortly before the reward without grinding all the events for hours!
Yeah… I have to agree that I actually did that a few times… spammed Join map when I knew that map is doing great. And finally I join at the end, tag something real quick and get the reward xD
I think I saw that item several times on the map chat. If it’s not a part of the collection then it’s just a trophy that you should sell. Does it say when you right click on it that it’s an item that belongs to a collection?
Someone’s jealous that Logan has a girlfriend…
Are they officially boyfriend/girlfriend? I thought she friendzoned him but he still tries too hard to get the P but never does.
That’s just the appearance the queen needs to have out there. When the night falls and no one’s looking she’s… shall we say… getting a little Captain in her. Not all of it is rum.
I think it’s safe to say that she is getting the little Logan.
What?
Oh you thought…
No no… you silly person

This.
They will add a mastery that if you max out you’ll get a reserved spot for a few minutes. But it will be gated behind a lot of grind (sorry, I had to while this is still fresh
)

The vendor for plated weapons is available once you finish the meta in Dragon’s Stand
Plot twist, Mordremoth turned Garm into a Vinetooth that killed Eir.
And Eir knew it was Garm when she turned to the Vinetooth. That’s why she had no fear in her eyes and accepted her death without even trying to move.

…My prediction for deep sea dragon
You don’t understand. Deep Sea dragon IS THIS WORLD. I mean, this ocean.. all this water? Just like Mordremoth is all the plant DNA. Bubbles is all the H2O in the world. We will be swimming through him all the time
Still feels out of place. For me at least. Just like player characters having wings. Come on… How does that fit into lore I wonder. But still, many people like it, it gets them money so it’s all good.
I’m just one of those people who doesn’t get all the shiny things for my characters, I actually make them with some backstory that I came up on my own and I dress them in a way that fits their character that I imagine them to be.
If someone wants to have the feel of discovery about a crafting profession he just doesn’t have to look at the storage or search up guides, he can do it simply by discovering. While others, who want to deposit things and see how many materials there are should have an option to see it.
This way everyone is keeping all the mats to themselves cause no one knows what is required, what is important and what is not. So the prices are extremely high for some things.
On the plated weapons, what’s that fourth currency, I don’t recognise it?
Those are Ley Line Crystals
No, adding Cyrillic characters to the chat is not a big deal when it comes to coding. Even less work considering it already exists in the TP search fields.
The outfit looks amazing, great job designer team but I do have to say that I feel that it doesn’t belong to this game… Or is this something GW1 related?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for the awesome skins and such, but only if they have a place in this universe.
So yeah, I’m gonna skip on this one, feels very odd to me. But I’m definitely gonna buy the Lyssa one that was data mined.
Wrong approach. You all will have to like him to get him killed off.
Everyone hated Trahearne and look how it turned out for him
I never liked Logan. I kinda tried to like him but gave up soon after. I like Trahearne more actually, if they killed Logan I have to admit I’d have to take a few screenshots just to keep for the moments I require a laugh in my life.
Yes I decided to go after Zojja first, and went afk when the time came to save Logan
Also lost around 20-30ap upon logging in to HoT. Now I know why. Shame about the title really.
I enjoy achievements and my medals :<
Wasn’t there a mousepad in the trailer for one of those Paranormal Activity movies?
I still think that 400 was a good thing. Now my Chronomancer doesn’t feel special almost at all. I wanted to finally have something a bit rare when it comes to the profession itself. Something not everyone will have easily. Every person who made a mesmer as an alt for inventory storage or portals for some jumping puzzles will easily get things that I now have if he ever requires for a specific game content.
But oh well, many people whined about 400 HP, I’m guessing that I’m in the minority who doesn’t like this change and think that Anet shouldn’t cave in so much when people QQ on the forums…
I’m sure they’ll add a storage for those in the next expansion or so. Grenth forbid they add a new material to the game and its storage in the deposit in the same patch.
I am also one of those who enjoy the difficulty. So I vote no when it comes to nerfing this. Maybe when (if) the zones ever go dead they will have to tone down some events to make it playable for the few people that are actually there. It’s in a good spot right now.
And I’m using a full zerker mesmer without any problems. I still stand behind the “if you really require a tanky setup than that means you still didn’t learn how to use your dodge and evasive abilities”.
Maybe he doesn’t have the time to commit to two games. If you can’t play GW1 yourself (if you could/wanted to you probably wouldn’t make this thread) or if you don’t want to read from the wiki I recommend checking out WoodenPotatoes on youtube and find his playlist about the lore of the Guild Wars universe, it’s called Guild Wars 2 Story Summary. It’s a good start.
It would make things a lot easier. That’s actually what I thought would be when I first heard about the masteries.
But, by doing that people would have all masteries unlocked almost instantly even in Maguuma. The grind was put in the HoT maps to make the content feel longer (I’m sorry, but that’s the truth, HoT maps are not that big regardless of what people are saying).
I for instance would have unlocked Central Tyria masteries instantly cause when I logged in first at HoT release I had 59 of those. So yeah… not gonna happen.
By some theory it should be. Unless someone else took your spot in that map and now it’s full by the time you got back.
Cause I know that every time I crash and come back my participation level didn’t reset. So it does remember I was there.
So you should always have a Anti DC party when you are doing big things like that. Just in case.
You should have put a spoiler tag just in case, some people still didn’t finish the story (but read these type of threads for some reason).
I actually was lucky I guess. I read about all those bugs. My first run of the last story was actually with 5 people and I never saw any bugs. Probably just luck. All the updrafts worked for me. I didn’t even have to jump on the first one to get into the air, I just walked into it and it worked kinda like the jumping mushroom, without jumping. All the the 5 people were alive til the very end so I guess it didn’t bug out for anyone.
I know that I wasn’t able to stomp the boss in the end though cause I wasn’t the one who opened. Never occurred to me what would happen if the opener died there. Cause I know they can’t rejoin the fight, only watch it until we wipe…. hm, that could be troublesome indeed.
I’ll never understand you people. I prepurchased the core game. Played it for 3 years very actively. I got stuff that Free To Play players will never be able to get. Some thing are never coming back.
I enjoyed many things, funny bugs, stuff before revamps, was a party of huge one time events that is an experience that will never happen again in that same fashion.
So yeah, 3 years of playing and getting everything for free is just insane. This game delivers far more content then most mmo’s that require monthly subscription.
So yeah, also perfectly fine with the HoT price. Cause I know that I’ll get everyone for free until the next expansion as well. Even though I rushed through HoT content in a few days. Pretty much saw it all (now to get it all) I still think the expansion is great.
Can you collect the required trophies even though you didn’t unlock the collection?
no, the collection doesn’t exist until you get the ‘collection volume book thing’
Some of the NPCS that have the items will only sell them to you once you have the collection. In fact some of them do not sell anything, until you have the collection.
some of the NPCS you need to talk to, wont even talk to you about anything until you unlock the collection.
Thanks once again for the reply here and in the other thread.
So you are telling me that I should actually buy all the legendary weapon vol 1 recipes? Cause I don’t plan to pursue any of those so soon, but I do plan to play the game normally, do other stuff and if I accidentally do something that a collection needs the better.
you can’t buy the collections until you have the mastery for that collection.
but that wans’t your question, if you wnat to collect the items required for that legendary then yes, if not then no.
I have the mastery. Bought Kraitkin Vol 1 and Incenerator Vol 1 for now just to see what it requires. And when I saw that there are stuff like look from this NPC, or loot from iron mining node or stuff like that I got confused if I would get that item from the NPC even if I didn’t have that collection unlocked. Guess I’ll buy them all now (Vol 1) and if I come across something randomly in the world it would be far more exciting

Rytlock is a Warrior
While I do agree with all your points I do have to mention that Rytlock is (was?) not a warrior. He uses a pistol.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rytlock_Brimstone
Rytlock’s skills are unique, in that he may wield a pistol in his off-hand. As such, he uses a combination of warrior skills and thief skills
You can see in the achievement section which achievements give the mastery point. Central Tyria ones are marked in red ‘tear’, and Jungle ones are marked in green ‘tear’.
And most (all?) Tyria mastery points are bound to achievements.
Candy Corn Cob is the meta Halloween award right?

Rytlock: “I’ll talk about my new powers once we get a rest, so shut up now”.
Maybe it’s the same thing about our characters
They don’t feel like talking now.
I would be interested in Chronomancer lore though.
Actually Eir mentions that theyve been starved in their cages for days before you got there.
So not only does HoT not take place over one day…
You havent even left the Verdant Brink until several days have passed.
Oh, you are actually right. I completely forgot she said that. Thanks for the reminder.
Tbh, this is a paid expansion. The story shouldn’t be the size of half a LS season. I expected lots of waypointing around the world, to queen, to pale tree, even to arah and durmand priory. I anticipated more nightmare court vs. mordremoth, even an alliance with Dreamers and NC. This story is so straightforward, flat, short and predictable.
I also hoped to see a living forgotten in Tarir or somewhere else. It isn’t even explained why the Forgotted have left the world. As a semi-major lore geek for Guild Wars I would be the happiest person alive if we actually get something like this. Traveling all over the world, talking to people of importance. Learn fascinating new stuff, twist after a twist. But no. Sadly everything is based in the Jungle and it all happened in like 1 day. Whole HoT timeline was a day if I am not mistaken. Maybe two. Correct me if I’m wrong though but it felt like that.
I was also expecting a lot from the story of a paid expansion but meh… when they try to serve many masters this is what happens. They try so hard to develop new stuff for general pve, pvp, wvwvw, story, fractals, elite specializations, masteries and so on that in the end it all feels unfinished… I’m sure that the story would have been better if they only gave focus to it, but they can’t. Not all of their player-base is interested in the story.
To be fair, the timeline is rather open to interpretation , however that has always been the case since the LS started.
So it is safe to asume that they threw the concept of tying anything to meassureable timeframe out of the window.
We are basicly just experiencing snippets of events in order how they happen. That being said, context is still needed, more so if they open up plotholes.
If we asume that we run through the whole jungle, then I imagine that some time will pass. I also imagine our group to take a rest now and then (btw. i would have loved a szene were the characters just sit down and talk.).
Then we got Rytlock saying: “Ill talk about my new powers when we take a break.”
I dont believe for a second that he stayed up all the time and went on guard.
Characters sitting down and actually talking for about 10 minutes after each mission or so would have been the perfect thing maybe.
And considering it won’t be skippable dialogue they should have made it that after you kill required stuff in the story, you get the reward and an option to leave the story instance if you are not interested. Those who are can actually stay after claiming the reward and listen between the conversations of the present NPC’s. That would have been a perfect way to fix what they made here, but we all know it will never happen.
Another interesting idea now would be if they actually made a 4th Guild Wars book just for this Jungle adventure. The exact same story but in depth, and maybe side things that happened outside of the scope of our player character. I’d actually read that even though I know the ending just for that extra lore/dialogue/explanations that they could put there.

Do people even read the patch notes?
I believe you can’t put it in the Mystic Forge
A very peculiar thread. I’m actually always surprised every time I am reminded how great the community is in this place.
I’m not gonna ask for gem store items. I’m too embarrassed to ask for something like that.
What I desire is a Mini Undead Chicken to finish my Mini Collection Set 1. That one is the only mini missing from my set. Thank in advance to the kind person of this thread.
Should I buy all of the Legendary Vol 1 collections just to unlock them so that if I randomly stumble upon something needed for them to add it to the collection?
For example Bolt Vol 1 has a part that says "Looted from the chest after defeating the Legendary Archdiviner in the Cliffside Fractal. "
Can I loot that even if I don’t have the collection unlocked?
If I remember correctly they did mention in some thread that Mordremoths vines actually spread to Orr as well. So lore-wise his vines are now there. Or were… considering the ending of the HoT story.
Some people actually speculated that by cleansing Orr we allowed Mordremoth instantly to take it. Cause in the cinematic where Trahearne cleanses Orr we see vines coming out of the well. Mordremoths vines?
Exactly as it says in the item description. Gives karma.
That support answer is a template they use pretty much for everything related to stuff like this.
Hey guys, is there a way to change the keybind for minimap pinging/drawing feature?
By default it’s Shift + Click to ping and Shift + Hold Left Mouse Button and Drag to draw on the minimap.
The problem is that I use Shift to dodge. So I have to spend a dodge every time I want to draw something or ping, which can be a problem in PvP, and occasionally makes me dodge roll off of a cliff to my death.
I tried to find the option to change those minimap binds to something else without success.
Not sure if this was reported or not. It certainly isn’t a priority right now but still needs to be mentioned.
In the achievement panel for Competitive the Belcher’s Bluff category has no name where it actually says that it’s a Belcher’s Bluff category.
What you played before and for how long is of no importance to this thread. If you like the gameplay more than story why get interested in the story only now during the expansion. You have to start from the beginning. And not only GW2 beginning. Glint goes way back. GW1 actually.

A guildy of mine asked yesterday a very peculiar question that got me thinking.
“Are there any corrupted Skritt?”
So… are there? I can’t think of any. They can be pretty annoying in few places where you actually fight them so they are not THAT harmless. I’m sure some Elder Dragon could use them as soldiers, they have good skills. Especially for stealing things.
Or is something like sylvari v2.0 going to happen again like “Oh skritt are actually minions of a golden shiny elder dragon that collects all of the magical shiny artifacts and gathers his powers under everyone’s noses until he gets so str0nk no one can stop him”.
For a sylvari based expansions it had so little to do with sylvari. I’m hoping that the living stories will fix that.

The ending was rushed. I dare say even worse than Zhaitan.
The story missions until the end were awesome. The pacing was great. And suddenly it ended. I was expecting at least 15 more chapters between chapter 14-15 and chapter 16. Such a huge hole that could have been filled with awesome things.
The ending fight had nice mechanics somewhat but still felt a bit meh to me. I was actually expecting a lot more dialogue from Mordremoth. Seeing how he is an intelligent dragon and all. He could only say stuff like “OBEY ME, I AM THIS WORLD” and such. Even at the end when we are about to cut down Trahearne, he appears again and does it again “OBEY ME, I CAN’T BE DEFEATED” and…. dead
He could have provided a far better dialogue than that imo.
