I will save a special “Yellow snowball” for you mate
Ewwww!
Glad to hear they support you in such a careful way! Here’s hoping you get better very soon, and enjoy Wintersday in Tyria! ^^
The Mighty Login Reward Track (from wiki)
Since they’ve ripped off BLCK farming, they could at least increase the odds of receiving scraps… even now it’s VERY rare.
Thank you, ANet! At least now we have a legit way to grab a BLC Key, even if random. For those of you who don’t know, at days 4, 11, 18 and 25 we get a Chest of Black Lion Goods which can contain one of the following: Mystic Forge Stone,Black Lion Chest Key, Transmutation Charge, Box of Fun, Merchant Express, Bank Access Express, Black Lion Salvage Kit, Trading Post Express, Instant Repair Canister, or Revive Orb.
I’d like auto-aoe-loot to prioritize items by rarity, much like targeting prioritizes foes’ ranks.
the jewel is awful imo
I had fun with my sylvari with the yellow one but quickly got burnt out and sold it.
screen with jewel
Noob Saibot!
I just hope next year they schedule episodes better because they made a compromise with playerbase when they announced 2-week releases. This year had quite a few unexpected breaks…
Servers have been laggy as of recently, is it just me or is anyone else experiencing the same? It’s been continuously disconnecting me at times, even though there was no problem with my ISP at all.
Oh, you asked for it.
You charr is BEAUTIFUL! Grats!!
/kiss (don’t know how to describe this properly in english, but this would be like moving your head forward and closing your eyes, much like kissing… would make sense if someone else did the same! <3)
Not sure you want this while people like me are still in the game. Nothing will be safe!
Beware:
Air
Walls
Cows
Skritt
Queen Jennah
Charr tanks
Broken waypoints
Trahearne
Belinda’s Ghost
Lion Statue’s ankleI’m coming for you!
You can do those things sure!
Dear Devs, dear Devs, thank you for your mental stability.
May the booze guide your hands through the tough times on the forums.
May the Santa norn’s hairy chest always be with you.
“May Dwayna bless you!”Put precursor hunt under my christmas tree this year. If that won’t do, then please add the following:
[Potion of Gaile]:
You sparkle.
I’d love that Potion of Gaile!
Wooo! Love them! Man, I’m going to save a list of cool ideas!
I’d like more emotes such as:
/blowkiss (blows a kiss at someone, with sound please)
/talktomyhand (like really! you are annoying, pl0x talk to ma hand)
/kiss (don’t know how to describe this properly in english, but this would be like moving your head forward and closing your eyes, much like kissing… would make sense if someone else did the same! <3)
/timid (like holding your own hands downwards, shy, and move your legs accordingly. I really suck at explaining these stuff! <3)
/eww (ewwww!)
/heart (draw a heart in the air! <3)
/sit2 (crossed legs)
/scream (screams in terror! preferrably holding your face like Picasso’s The Scream)
Finding that perfect topic were all Trolls can get out of there caves and finnaly be free and not afraid to get suspended for no good reason at all.
Also Anet finnaly admitting that they have no idea what to do whit WvW and suhhting it down and releasing new Gem-o-matic.
Gem-o-matic! HAHAHAHA lol
More of the same ole WvW. I’d like to see better incentives for various goals, but as long as it stays fun on Reset Night, i will continue to keep logging on at least once a week. I could care less what they do with PvE anymore. Other mmos can and will do PvE better.
Good PvE is subject to opinion, sorry.
1. Raids.
2. SAB World 3.
3. New skills.
4. New scavenger hunt styled collections.
5. Precursor crafting.
6. New maze-styled content such as Labyrinth, more involved and complex, and also time-gated.
7. Answering more questions about lore because there are too many unresolved stuff going on that I might get lost among stories (seeds from that cavern that originated the Pale Tree for example, intrigues me to hell).
Kill them with kindness ^
Personally IRL I always behave as such, it’s part of who I am.
@Orpheal, loved your idea! It’s simple but adds a fresh air to collections. Collections got to be the best thing they’ve ever added to the game, I really love all concepts we can come up with them.
PS.: Edited my suggestion with a few immersive stuff to give a scavenger hunt feeling. I’d love to hear your thoughts, as well as devs’.
@Orpheal, wow! You really dug someone’s posting history! I fear if you dig in mine you might find out how my opinions fluctuate based on time! :O
I have this strong belief that ArenaNet is trying to force down our throats an attempt to fix “feeling rewarded” in the game, but point is: it’s not about the amount, but quality and nice-paced rewards. Bioluminescence is a very nice example, but I wish it required more pewpew and less grinding. It’s a starting point nonetheless.
I like chocolate chips, why doesn’t Johnny? I like dogs, why doesn’t Linda?
I’ve long suggested they add a BESTIARY in-game, and now I realize collections are perfect for this! Have a master bestiary collection and small sub-grouped ones, much like Bioluminescence. For instance:
Insect Book (rewards T6 mats commonly dropped by insects)
“Slay all those critters!”
- Poison Spider
- Giant Beetle
- Wasp
…
Feline Book (rewards T6 mats commonly dropped by felines)
“Did I hear meowth? Or RAWR!?”
- Snow Leopard
- Tiger
…
Master Bestiary (rewards title and some new stuff)
“My knowledge grows”
- Feline Book
- Insect Book
…
Master Achievement Unlocked by: Tome of Arah (dunno, any lore-related name will do!)
Acquisition: Anything related to a scavenger hunt + some real fights involving all aspects of the game, including fractals.
Additional Items Upon Unlocking:
- Superior Sigil of Knowledge: Use Tome of Arah to identify creatures
- Will summon a book animation upon slaying a creature not yet unlocked in a respective collection.
- Will add a buff (much like Gourd Vibrations) called something like “Beast Hunter” with a cool description.
I know that collections should be item-driven, so maybe slaying monsters would have a chance to drop a certain item that unlocks their “identification” for that collection. Drop rate would be about 40% and only rolled while under “Beast Hunter” buff, so folks don’t unecessarily drop those when they’re simply gaming. And yes, it would require equiping that sigil!

I would be ok with a mystic coin nerf.
They were an interesting reward, that GW2 never explored or did anything with. The things you can do with mystic coins today are the same things as launch.
As for the laurel nerf, I think we’re getting a laurel nerf because in that one screenshot, the players have to choose between laurels and other rewards. (not all players will choose laurels).
Problem lies exactly there. If they value laurels by adding a bunch of recipes and stuff later on, you’re doomed to grind again. Depending on rewards I’ll stick to laurels, unless it’s something VERY significant.
We trust you, Pat! <3
Dare I say, it’s one of the most anticipated stuff for the API.
You also need an option to ‘dismiss’ (hide) advertised parties in which you have no interest, to cull what can be a long LFG list at times.
I second this! Add a text filter just like Trading Post. For example:
Text Criterion Filter: SW,Silverwastes,Dry Top.
This way it searches for all comma-separated entries: SW, Silverwastes, or Dry Top. Have it as OR’d criteria, this is, any of them will match. It’s good because this filter would follow a proper validation, and wouldn’t have anything to do with your LFG text (because of course it’s a search filter, not an advertising one). I find it much simpler on the long run than adding more and more tabs…
Just to ensure: He said it’s POSSIBILITY, they MIGHT add this option. This is NOT a guarantee of any kind. #kthxbai
I love them too! A HUGE thanks to all ArenaNet artists, you guys are unmatchable! <3
I totally expected this to be a Manifesto threat. Anyone else too?
Which is sort of related, as I remember it. Yeah, sounded awesome.
I stopped raging at ANet for quite a while. The only thing that frustrates me to unprecedented levels is PvE difficulty… I don’t feel challenged whatsoever.
While we’re at it I also have a related question: will I have to choose between laurel and other things, or are they still rewarded like before? In the current system we gain laurels AND other stuff as well, will I have to choose between them?
This is a strong memory for me. I don’t recall who captured it, but I was thrilled when the person shared it! I didn’t have my room setup like that, but inside it felt pretty much the same. I remembered a video that lovely Ree Soesbee, and all the devs looked zombie-like anxious for GW2’s release!
Anyone else has good memories from before/right after launch?
Saving ranger pet names is apparently a technical impossibility, and you want to save entire builds?
It seems to me that impossibility is called “server storage space”.
This is a well-earned vacation. From GW2’s starting year until now they’ve shown an incredible ability to come up with new systems, re-work stuff as needed, and deliver a reasonable amount of content in short periods. I still recommend GW2 for all of my friends, and I’m still fond of the idea that ArenaNet has really changed how companies should perceive MMOs in general.
So yeah, I rant regularly but let them enjoy their free time.
Did you just come out from under a rock for two years? If by “vacationing” you meant “quitting for a better paying dev job”, or “moving onto a different company because I’m sick of burn out” then yeah they are vacationing. In all seriousness, the OP is right, just like a multitude of OP’s before him: the egregiously long breaks between thin Living Story updates is unacceptable. It points to turmoil across all development levels, starting with upper management. But don’t take my word for it, look it up for yourself. The moderators routinely delete posts which link to this public information, so I will not.
Sorry my friend, but you’re just a plain hater who doesn’t understand how development and marketing works altogether. They can take as many breaks as they see fit, their compromise should be only to maintain servers up since you only had to pay an initial $60.00 for the game, which is worth much more than that price.
I think it sounds good. Putting in a request for “daily overgrown grub kill” in the wvw category, as is the only trait that is too annoying to get because no one on my server kills the grub. Ever. I was in wvw once, we were matched against two weak servers, the commander said after we took all three keeps we’d kill the grub… of course he was “just kidding”.
The changes to the monthly are really good, because it has been just way too easy to get. I usually got it in the first couple days of every month.
You can always buy traits for a few gold and SP’s.
This is an awesome feature, but it really does feel sudden/unexpected.
I’m really a thief. Stealthy most of the times, but I deal heavy “damage” when I backstab into fight.
