It started with a double mesmer team that use to offer a taxi service to the top of the Obsidian Sanctum JP, way back when that was the only way to get siege blueprints
I remember that, heh
In fact, the title has no longer to do anything with the game.
People will tell you about the guild wars and you should read the lore, but honestly, this is so unimportant for this game that the title just implies that this is a sequel to a game called Guild Wars for whatever reason.
Pretty much this. GW2’s lore revolves around dragons and any other kind of content but guild vs. guild. This has long gone, and OP is correct, no actual GvG mechanic so far.
They’ll nerf it, and people WILL work around it to get an efficient farm, and they’ll nerf it again, until it becomes “meh” and people leave the map. We’ve all seen this (cough cough Orr cough).
As I’ve said, it’s slowly happening. (Y’
People will continue organizing SW… for a time. Everyone wants their achievements, and then, they move on, like Orr, and Dry Top (although Dry Top actually managed to keep quite alive).
Interestingly, despite many belittling the effect there has been a sudden increase in demand in TP. Sadly, I was hoping for the prices to go down. ;_;

Stop this nosense complaining. Many people simultaneously USE THEIR SHOVELS, therefore many chests pop up! They take turns unburying chests, and this makes it feel like an unintended farm, but it is COMPLETELY legit.
And it is a level 80 area, nothing wrong with decent loot at all.
Why not just load that instance’s version of the map? It’s not really any different from any instance, they’ll be just using old terrain/assets, and we always download tons of GB’s of data that stay there but aren’t used afterwards anyways. Just a matter of instance terrain/asset check (just map corresponding data?).
Although some people are lucky with MF or drops, I encourage you to not trust in MF at all. It is the biggest waste of money in this game.
never dropped one.. hardly use the mystical blackhole…. heard of other ppl dropping it but…
statisticly speaking this is rather rare…
I see what you did there! ;D
The various colored-infused marionettes in LA during its cataclysm aren’t really easy to reproduce, but they can tweak LA to be an instance for this event. Same goes for Giant Marionette.
Everything can be instanced, although it may feel like too many instances I don’t believe there’s another way around it.

1. Venom from Mystic Forge (I bought another one at some point, but it was worth like 10g at the time lol)
2. Bought The Legend from TP for 1,1k gold.
Last boss from Glint’s Lair made it hard doing solo, of course it’s not impossible but I got downed a few times. I think ArenaNet should take this battle and this instance’s mechanics to heart. For a fast-paced MMO with dodge, this instance made me see how raids could make their way into the game.
Well done, ArenaNet. Impressive and nostalgic area, cool mechanics, fun fights. Keep it up!
ANet ruined all the games for me hahah, GW2 quality is overall much higher than most MMOs on the market!
OP, welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I am enjoying (even since headstart)!
PS.: During launch a lot of people complained about content, but kittenit, there are so many things to do now! I haven’t even caught up on story / area achievements from past episodes yet. Q.Q
I don’t like them outside SAB tbh. Hope that’s not the case, SAB skins should be acquired… inside SAB!
I’ve submitted 12 tickets
According to Taimis calculations that should be a solid 53% chance of winning.
Jk, its surely close to zero…
I would say 76% chance of missing them! Because increasing percentagens are awesome, even on the dark side.
Again, for a game to be sandbox it needs much more than an instance filled with pre-made objects. GW2 isn’t sandbox, it is themepark, for sandbox refer to EverQuest Next: Landmark, etc.
Can a moderator close this thread? It’s derailed its course already.
They do seem to be expanding the importance of home districts and we just had a guild hall CDI.
But that’s somehow different than sandbox, GW2 is themepark. We can’t say we got true sandbox features, home instance was just a very very poor attempt.
This will never happen, it seems to me that their game engine just doesn’t support that.
They are little by little incorporating skins into crafting disciplines, I really like this idea.
A new slot on equippable items for this kind of thing would be nice. It could open up the doors for some more special effects without new skins… it’s just a shame that they wouldn’t be tasteful.
I’m not 100% confident that this would be a good solution given how many effects we can’t amass by equipping various armors, weapons and backpieces. If they could only standardize trinkets making them responsible for “class of effects”, for example, amulets add body glow, rings (both) add footsteps, and accessories add glow details (like small bolts, or subtle fires flowing upwards, or butterflies like Caladbolg).
But that’s hiiiiiiiiiiighly unlikely, it would become more well-defined manner of “crafting” effects, and they would lose money from GemStore, unless they put some of these special jewels in there.
I like the themes, the sounds, the graphics, it’s all fun! Of course skin hunting is rad because of insane tribulation mode, but there’s more to it. I know a lot of people who got tears in their eyes when they first ran into SAB!
IMO in order not to mess up stuff programming-wise, it would be cool just to “infuse” any ascended amulet in the forge with desired jewel and get an output item that glows when equipped. Programming-wise it would be just a matter of checking if such amulet is equipped, no other overcomplicated stuff just to check a color change.
but would a hardened leather sink actually hold any water?
why not just make your sink out of stone! :O
LOL!
Same for Kholer in AC… “You heard Grast. Hold the line! Send the intruders to Grenth!” (x10000)

I’m sorry but the effects are identical in PvE and WvW, maybe you’re confusing it for being more noticeably bright during the night?
You can condense lower rarity essences of luck into higher ones to avoid too many clicks, but for karma and scroll of knowledges there ain’t such a thing yet.
If only a cool anet staff member could help in that matter… hint hint
-non dodgeable aoe
..Nonononono. It “sounds” like a good idea, but it will just receive a ton of complaints. Take a look at the PvP forums and the feedback related to Skyhammer.
We got this already (not sure if intended): Ascalonian Catacombs’ Spider Queen’s poisonous aoes.
They should set raids foundation according to level 80 attributes, and scale only depending on AMOUNT OF PLAYERS, not their levels. It seems to me that accounting for various levels and equips is a waste of time, they should set raid from level 80 and focus on more important matters (AI, combat mechanics, rewards, reward-gating [it needs to exist to an extent], etc).
TL;DR Set raids a lvl80 content, reducing unecessary variables, and focus on the raids themselves, especially considering how easy it is to reach level 80 in GW2 comparing to other hundredths of MMOs out there.
- I bought Venom!
- I lead the zerg I was commanding in EotM to jump off the cliff… FOR THE FUNS!
- I have a compulsion for light, my sylvari is brightful as heck (all celestial sylvari) and now I have orange refractor, and I put the title GOLDEN!
- I feel deeply sad for losing character name “Valento” during release…
- I got 7 characters but spend 99% of my time in my leafy elementalist
- For the first one year and a half of GW2 I’ve been evangelizing this game EVERY. SINGLE. PLACE. I was like an annoying fanboi, and now I just recommend it from a neutral point of view
- I feel sad because I have very low hopes of ANet ever releasing largos as a playable race
- I love largos because they’re from the depths of the oceans and underwater environment is GORGEOUS, and their accent (“I greet you, ally of my ally” – Sayeh Al’Rahjid).
- I think tengu are overrated
- I think they would release skritt as a playable race, but kodan never!
See attachment, devs! The male one is what I wish for my female. For now, she has that spread long hair, but I’d like thin petals more tight to the face, not so spread. Simple and gorgeous!
TD;DR Moar long hairs!!!

ADD a skill .. maybe mesmer ..
Explode Boons… That destroys boons on target dealing damage for each boon destroyed.
Hahahah. How about we delete Moa Morph? I think it’s a much better idea.
I would like boss encounters require more of conditions, but they’re so easily spammable… for example, a dodge-oriented NPC who applies constant torment and heavy duration poison, would lose their ability to dodge if one could inflict chill+immobilize. But it’s so easily spammable that one can’t take advantage of them mechanic-wise, unless the raid is split like Marionette (btw, the best approach of raids I’ve seen in GW2 since release).
i report 2-3 time the wardrobe bug, i’ve the mad memeries complete edition, than i must have the first one as a part of the creation
Sigh… I agree. I know people can’t complain for a lot of items they’ve broken because the servers probably don’t hold history on those, but for festivals it’s acceptable. IMO
I just wish Gaile would show up and say “I’ve talked to the team responsible for that content and unfortunately this item won’t be attainable anymore. Sorry folks.”, short and simple.
Plot twist: the new Pinnacle Weapons (very high in AP rewards) have footprint effects, and change projectile animations like The Dreamer, Kudzu, and The Bifrost.
I nicknamed him Chainsaw Larry……
There was this dude who mispelled his name and became “Chainsaw wh*r*”. I feel sorry.
Switching attunements is useless for STAFF in PvE, I didn’t mention other weapon sets, or game modes.
AP’s aren’t truly linked to being a veteran or not, I know a lot of people who have been playing since beta and have yet to reach 10k.
What’s the problem with staff eles mostly using fire? I RARELY switch to water or air, these are convenience attunements for other situations but since meta is about pewpew and lazy brain, there is no need to switch that much. I use earth to combo blast finishers and 6x bleeding, maybe an immobilize to keep foes away, and that’s that.
Depends, in solo play, nothing wrong with sticking to fire staff. But thats just lazy in a dungeon.
But the point of this thread clearly isn’t to point out why he dislikes what hes confessing, just that he is confessing his own pet peeves and encourages others to do the same…
I see, and I feel bad, but it works better than going mad switching attunements. Staff clearly doesn’t require a heavy rotation, fire does just fine, and Air #3 Gust is a broken skill due to its awkward pathfinding (it should behave like Shockwave).

Simple: create a recipe! Something like:
+ <Jewel> attached to <trinket>
+ 50x <insert T6 mat>
+ 50x Mystic Coins
+ 10x Candy Corn Cobs
Output would be an ascended <trinket> (amulet, acessory or ring) with stats dependant on <T6 mat>‘s, and glow dependant on <Jewel>. Trinket quality wouldn’t matter.
