@ Draknar. AP can’t even tell if you are playing since release or not. For example I play this game since the 3 day headstart and last week I got the 6k AP Chest.
Well I support the AP hiding because of the insanity I see every day in the LFG.
20k AP for Arah
8k AP for CoF P1 oOAP are no indicator for Skill, but unfortunately most players don’t understand this
The numbers you gave are indeed ridiculous, but AP IS some sort of playerskill indicator. If I try something difficult I’ll request at least 3k AP, most of my friends and guildies require 5k+. Thing is: many people work and can’t spare all their time failing content, although I do guide PUGs whenever needed there’s always a limit to this.
You know… time.
The game is so much centered around easy pie stuff to cater to the casual audience that it’s becoming ridiculously dumbed down. Just see changes to skillbar and downed state. There should be a “Skip this kitten, I know it from the very start” button. #justsaying
I won’t be able to log in before tonight when I get home from work, so whatever. =P
15 minutes duration for a maintenance, eh? Pretty nice compared to the majority of other MMOs.
I highly doubt GW2 will reach a good reputation in that regard. Challenge is a myth in this game, just get over it.
I’m not against it, but no… quite a handful of fixes the game needed, some nerfs here and there, and more stagnant gemstore-focused stuff. #IMO
I’d rather they spent their time more constructively on stuff that actually matters… OP’s suggestion is like, less than 1% of the player base would use or care about.
Sorry
Agreed.
As long as we all have access to fair equipment, they’re going to put every endgame stuff such as skins in the GemStore. Quite sad, there are already a kittening kittening kitten bunch of skins blocked by cash shop. I could understand the clothes, but now… plenty of weapons already.
I hope that they remove WvW from world completion (it’s not part of the world dangit), adds a bunch of vistas and skill challenges (maybe more PoI if meritable) to Southsun, and then add those two new zones (plus a reworked, enlarged, Labyrinthine Cliffs? Pwease?) to world completion.
Then add a separate, less rewarding, track for WvW+Edge of the Mists+Heart of the Mists. Mists Completion.
I agree. WvW counting for world completion has always struck me as a no-no, but it seems that every change they make takes too long.
Thing is: exploring is cool! Especially cold areas such as the norns’. I think they would be wasting exploration potential if they removed UW combat.
I don’t understand, it’s just simpler if you already have the star for map completion and simply doesn’t obtain another one no matter how many more maps they add… actually, not a big deal, it’s just a little annoying not being able to see all completions filled.
Still, I’d like a dev response about this.
Regarding challenge: there ain’t real challenging stuff in-game, and ANet knows that, and that’s the reason these contents don’t reward fair enough. Maybe their new AI consultant can do something about it? fingers crossed
I took the survey and liked both questions and available options, looking forward to the results!
Everyone saw that coming, soon there will be 80% gemstore oriented stuff in the game, and we reach Gemstore Wars 2. #gg
@Edit
Just came back to say: pathetic. #gg²

Why don’t Southsun Cove and Dry Top show SPs, Vistas, POIs, etc towards map completion? Every map’s loading screen displays the amount of each you’ve done, is there any specific reason for this?
(edited by Valento.9852)
Lol this doesn’t really make sense, everyone has access to every aspect of the game, if it requires a part of it then go for it, or don’t craft. I wanted a legendary, so I took part even in WvW map completion (quite difficult if you ask me), and here I am, holding a Bifrost.
If I’m not wrong, an ANet dev once stated we won’t be getting much of UW combat due to how impopular it is (as mentioned by Konig), so there would be fixes and such but no addition whatsoever.
IMO that’s very sad, not only because I made Kraitkin (yep, I did), the whole concept is fun, maybe lacking a bit of “action” but it seems to me that’s the very nature of this system. And man, if you look at Frostgorge Sound or Straits of Devastation, plenty of water everywhere! :P
I don’t assume we’re seeing LS1 being implemented so soon, my guess is at least 1 year (I’m being optimistic, they already have many things being worked on simultaneously).
Love those screenshots, keep ‘em coming! (I wish my PC could run at a better quality, but at least I can delight in your SS’s)
I only got The Howler once, but sold it immediately. Must have made someone happy heh
I posted once and the image was eaten, so I’m uploading my final look (I guess).
I was handed The Legend too!
…
By sir TP Gnashblade… and I grinded till my fingers bleed. T_T
Xillllix, you sir made me giggle.
What can I say? Aside from Blinding Ashes GM + new Firestorm (Glyph of Storms), there ain’t really new useful options.
It seems I’m not the only one uneasy about GemStore skins interfering in the achievements after all…
^ 10/10! Yours looks so adorable, nice color choices!
My plant has gone through many changes, and now it’s mostly a glowy Pale Tree’s child (sorry for quality heh).
So… just to be honest: what really bugs me is that they may take away GemStore skins just like they did with Sclerite… and I’ll never be able to buy them in the future. It’s just that I’m not able to acquire them as of now, and it feels bad to be missing out on stuff since I really like this game, and I’m sort of a collector.
Not sure if the engine was designed to support sandboxing in such way, for ex. I highly doubt they’ll ever be able to support voxel-based destructible world. It’s just not what this game was designed for.
Placeholder features are placeholder. (some are fine, but mostly… well…)
Really? I’m not arguing, let’s just see how it turns out. sigh
Oh, btw, I never ran such key farm.
I am watching closely how GemStore skins will relate to these achievements, they better be VERY careful about giving free stuff for cashers.
We’re called cashers now?
I hope my full set of lovestruck skins gets an achievement and a title. Even the uninspired “Lovestruck” title would incite me to change from The Emperor.
No, I meant people who grab every single skin from GemStore. I for one can’t spend that much. Just saying.
I am watching closely how GemStore skins will relate to these achievements, they better be VERY careful about giving free stuff for cashers. I’d hate having to compete with those who spend a lot of cash in the game to get skins, as if giving all that huge amount of stuff for GW1 players wasn’t enough.

I really don’t know if these announcements have been fair to veteran players, but I surely will keep an eye on the next 2 days and will totally avoid being aleniated by wall of texts. You know… it’s going to touch one of the most sensible parts of post-game: trading & collecting!
I don’t think so… I think at least one more are will be revealed. I actually love how they are using existing maps, Tyria is so beautiful to ignore all the already existing areas.
Never got to understand why you go “through” the models when you zoom in, but your screens are beautiful!
I’d like guild system to be more involved and “glorious”, Guild vs. Environment as stated above…
Ahh… so this is a fix to prevent key farming. Well, I didn’t see that one coming, thanks for the heads-up.
Second Post :P
Something to fill in those 40 minutes of setup time before Teq. And this is fun because it has players dividing up to compete against each other en masse to benefit themselves – Free the Sylvari/Charr/Asura/Human/Norn captives so they can join the fight. ONLY one racial group can be freed for the battle! Doing so seals the other four groups off behind impenetrable barriers. The race that frees their captives gets a bonus during the fight:“Song of the Sylvari” All Sylvari are at minimum 25% movement for the duration.
Might of the Norn All Norn have 10% weapon skill recharge rate reduction
Blessing of Dwayna All Humans have 40% faster healing skill recharge
Unity in Battle All Charr deal +10% damage with skill slot 1
*Supercharged Intellect" All asuran Elites recharge 5% faster.Though I’m no programmer and this may be seriously tricky to implement. Maybe someone will get creative ideas off the post anyways.
*Either divide these pursuits by race or profession. I chose race, else you’re going to get theme of everyone showing up as elementalist (for example) – while race is more likely to bring out a variety of professions since there is no standard race+profession combo.
I think affecting the skills directly in such a way doesn’t quite “fit” the battle, but there’s something cool out of it… 3 orders – 3 buffs.
Vigil’s Might: +3%/6%/10% direct damage against the branded, 5% chance to gain 5sec fury upon being hit by branded;
Whisper’s Technique: +3%/6%/10% defense against the branded attacks, 5% chance to gain 5sec protection upon being hit by branded;
Priory’s Wisdom: +3%/6%/10% damage-over-time against the branded, 5% chance to gain 5sec retaliation upon being hit by branded.
The first bonus depends on the stack (max 3), the second only comes into play if you have all 3 stacks. Stacking 3x should be hard, and challenging, and maybe something “off-battle” to spread the focus and avoid spamming the dragon but becoming more necessary as the fight scales.
@Edit
Numbers are only examples, it needs balancing, but the idea is there. :P

I like phasing a chunk of players to make the fight more difficult… like TA story when we are transformed into Sylvan Hounds by one of the bosses. We have to fight our way back. So, let’s say we become “half-corrupted” giving us the ability to strike from inside, while intensifying the regular “outside” battle… the better we are striking it from inside, the easy it becomes for people outside. Bring some level of coordination to that.
Our character models could have branded crystals attached to them when we enter this “half-corrupted” state, like the event from the GW2’s early betas (you guys remember? some people were corrupted and fought others who weren’t).
I personally love the Mordreem Leecher and the Modrem Hounds who spread retaliation around, it could make AoEing more dangerous to the players.
The Shatterer is a majestic strong champion and deserves the best fight IMO. It is meant to be kitten mechanic-wise! I really hope you guys add up to it. fingers crossed
Lol so everyone at ANet stop working on game maps to work on SAB, geez what a small team.
Geez… there are a few things I’m not happy with in the game, but this thread is a fine sample of playerbase toxicity lol… saying they haven’t done anything is unfair as kitten.
Oh, and we have NOT forgotten PRECURSOR SCAVENGER HUNT. Just saying.
I guess we can ALL agree that the very next CDI must be about improving communication between ArenaNet and the players, right? I sincerely believe you do not overlook many threads, but every 2 weeks or so a minor pass-through answering some players’ concerns would be… cool… to say the least.
I personally loved how we interacted with Joshua Foreman (where are you, man?), and talking about him, how about a SAB CDI? #waveshands
Why ArenaNet? Elementalist is probably the 2nd most used class and you screw it up. I’m so looking forward to the payoff for this.
