Love it. What I love the most is Tribulation Mode, it offers some decent challenge for the boredom that comes from the dungeons (since both are 5-man content).
I’ve never actually played SAB with more than one person. How fun is it with a full party?
The fun is beating your guildies! Like a race to the end, and how skillful you are to perfectly finish the map.

That’s great !
I’m assuming we will see this by around 2022 – shortly after you release the ability to craft precursors.
I giggled. Stahp.
I don’t get people at all, I for one would love to teach people through raiding if I could. Not all the players are kittens… just got to find the cool ones.
Well, there are 2 mommies in my guild, each have dropped 1 precursor at least! Yay for mommies!
Yesterday I slept on my keyboard when doing SE path 1. I woke up one hour later with the guys chatting in TS, I was like “woo omg, the dungeon!” and they were like “dude, we’ve done all runs now”.
There are already a plethora of skins for non-raiders, I have absolutely no clue why they complain about having hard stuff in the first place.
Raids != Zerged content
No – if you zerg the wurm or Tequatl, you will fail.
If you don’t zerg it you lose to the timer.
People don’t read the title, it clearly says “age of account WITHOUT a precursor drop”.
Pvp/Wvw speaking,if they introduced skills or condis that will “Stun 5 enemies next to you in an xx range” or “apply xx condis to people around you for the next xx seconds”" Meaning if im in a stack and someone will put one of these condi’s on me,it means i have to move out of the stack so the condis or stuns wont transfer to people next to me.
small example, but i think you understand what i mean,it will force people to go out of stacks so condis and stuns wont be transfered to other people. The effects wont do anything on the player itself but only to people close by that particular player.Such mechanics already exist, there’s some boss that puts an electric burst that damages nearby allies. No need for ALL the bosses to be extremely hard, but defeating AC p3’s final boss in 6 seconds is ridiculous.
Yeah but thats pve though.I was speaking about the pvp aspect of wvw since the stacking and zerging is all they tend to do.And currently there doesnt exist anything like this that will demote the zerging and stacking aspect.
I see. Haven’t really thought about WvW since PvE by itself already kittenes me off enough. I honestly wonder if there is a dungeon team at ArenaNet, or if they care for dungeons at all.

If you want to play the game for your personal entertainment then surely stacking in a corner (with limited skills and awful visuals) is some of the lowest entertainment the game can give you.
What if I told you…. bursting down enemies quickly and efficiently in a stack is enjoyable in itself? Because it totally is.
It is not.
I just thought about a “vampire”-like boss! It would use blood-ish HP draining skills, and if LoS isn’t possible he teleports to the stack, grabs a player then teleports back slowly draining their HP. (God, I conceptualized this so much awesomely! lol)
I wonder what the prices would be if ANet announced that from tomorrow on the precursors and legendaries would be account-bound forever.
Obviously they would skyrocket before the change is applied BUT if they did that it also would mean they would give us the means to get them by ourselves. Something like the famous precursor hunt they’ve talked about more than a year ago.
It wouldn’t make much sense for the prices to skyrocket since once it’s acc-bound and they have the corresponding legendaries, having the precursor/legendary would be useless.
Two ideas of yours strike me as good ones for future combat changes:
- Polarized debuffs: Asura fractal’s final boss has a golem that uses this attack. He puts positive and negative charges randomly in every player, if different charges are close you start losing HP little by little therefore avoiding player stacking (unfortunately it just plays a little role and the champion can be easily killed).
- Orbitting around players instead of meleeing them: Only possible if LoS is available, we can trick mobs but they can’t trick us. If I use Arcane Wave (big area of effect) I can hit mobs on the other side of the wall, but if the boss has such skill they obey LoS instead of “radius of sight”, if they don’t follow the stack (for certain defeat) they can’t hit us.
We could have a new radius/distance mechanics, call it “Area Awareness” in which the game checks if LoS isn’t possible for this range-based boss for a short period (4sec), if so it gains a special shield “Angered” or something of the like, then goes melee and receives much less damage (half?). Or magically teleports the entire party to random (or pre-set) locations evenly spread out whenever LoS isn’t possible. Or curse them with a dangerous DoT that increases damage the farther they are.
Just throwing random ideas…

It seems every profession’s skill choices are more meaningful than eles, if a ranger got GS and shortbow then swapping between these two sets really makes a difference. The ele skills on the other hand feels so much occasional, and not too much battle-changing, the rotation feels like whatever (specially for PvE).
Does anyone else feel squishy looking right at the profession core? All professions have changed dramatically throughout the game’s life, eles have only changed dramatically in the beginning of the game, when D/D was nerfed to the ground. It seems to me that every profession can offer much more, eles effectiveness seem split into tiny bits among their skills (some exceptions such as Shocking Aura).
The effect only appears when wielded, if it’s wielded then your graphics settings are too low or maybe you should update your graphics driver.
I like it, it’s specially useful for mega events such as Tequatl and Wurms. +1
I’ve suggested something like this in the now defunct suggestions forums, it’s a nice idea and it could be mixed up with certain lore-driven puzzles.
They throw away a fundamental part of a RPG: itemization. It seems to me they don’t care about item rarity, or whatever systems it’s tied with.
I take that, since they’re removing Sclerite and Windersday weapons, they’re not choosing in respect to how “old” they are (Fused are waaay older). It must be they’re just ugly to most, or something to do with what content is prohibited in China (but that wouldn’t make sense since they’ve changed a lot of armor there).
Oh well, the truth is that most of us hate losing a source of obtaining something other than LS which’s meant to be in that way.
S/D buffer ele here, this is my main spec: long duration 18+ might stacking, and 1min.+ fury stacking. I drop fire field and stack ASAP so guardians can pop their light fields, right after stacking might I drop a FGS and we melt down the mobs, it does add some usability and I really enjoy “empowering” my party (I feel like a bard!).
I guess that’s what you get from a B2P game, and it seems they’re working towards this very same action for several years to come.
Sure. I’ve been playing the game instead of farming, I should’ve chosen a different path.
What do others do?
I’m no hardcore farmer, ‘cause I hate farming (= stupid) – but: Even if this game isn’t throwing the gold at you (like in other MMOs), you still get at least 5 – 10 G/day simply by DOING STUFF (except standing around and chatting). So if you really played since release on casual level, you have to have enough gold for a pre.
Btw. not every pre ist 800 G+, so it’s more a “I wanna have ETERNITY!!!” complain.
Check The Legend.
There’s something wrong with people that think it’s normal gameplay to own +1100 gold..
Couldn’t agree more. “If you don’t have 1k gold there’s something wrong with you”
Sorry, there something wrong WITH YOU, not me.
Just buy the legendary you want and be done with it.
And if anyone has been playing since game launch and does not have at least 4k gold, either in gold or mats/items to sell by now, you have been doing something very, very wrong.
This precursor complaint thing is getting very old
Sure. I’ve been playing the game instead of farming, I should’ve chosen a different path.
Mai is May in French. Translation error.
No it isn’t. It is new content.
Stop!!!@ Mai Trin is returning, stop refusing! _
They’ve won. Bazaar of the Four Winds is the best content IMHO, I’ll enjoy this thing all week long!
Never seen a game with so many piñata bosses being ridiculously rushed. Very shameful.
Why does some of this community continue to think of Anet as some mom & pops business bringing in a couple hundred thousand w/a handful of employees working out of some bodega size shop?
Google is your friend and I suggest you use it, they can and do have the resources for all of it. You may and probably will be completely baffled once you see the money they have made over the last 19months w/the content & features we have seen.
Most people just check these forums or GW2 homepage.
This IS a barbie dress-up game, who dahell doesn’t know that?
Why would house be considered “waste” of time? I know a lot of female friends who loves placing fortuniture here and there, and RP’ing in games that shall not be named.
I personally believe this feature would cater to a lot of casuals because.. well… they’re casual! Farming, grinding, fractals are not casual at all and should be left to hardcores or midcores (like me). :P
None of those would fill a unique slot. Some are even nearly identical to what already exists.
It’s because every class can do a role to a minimum extent and that’s been purposefully designed that way. I STRONGLY believe we won’t see a class in the near future, it’s the kind of thing that no matter how many people ask for, it’s not simply given out.
I liked Flame & Frost. Discovering the maps and how some danger is slowly raising was a pleasant experience, although I’d like to see more hints or some side-story developing. That’s what the game needs lore-wise: side-stories. We have a main plot and that’s all, during this time we’ve only had SAB story and Bazaar of the Four Winds story aside from the main plot (BotFW was awesome because Glint).
They could branch side-stories tied with our PS, like if you’re sylvari you can now seek the truth behind White Stag vision and shall know what really comes with it as the main plot goes, or at least ONE story for each race (since 3 per race= 15, difficult to develop). Or just create fresh new stories with at least some options to choose from, or maybe just kill Trehearne (lol jk).
Since we all know the game LS are lore-focused and we’re having a more than one month break, deliver something worth it.
Guys, I’m getting there! 300g already!
… who am I trying to fool?
Wrong. The golden item every LS offers in GemStore is backpiece, not hat! (because moar backpieces > all)
Hopefully they’ll come up with something in 2015, else I give up on ANYTHING they say.
