I don’t know if it was only me, but it seems loading is faster and I did not upgrade my hardware.
And about the first question? Is transmutation effectively as it was pre-patch (i.e. equipment-bound)?
I’m at work right now and can’t confirm on this, I’d like to know: I’ve been told that, when you spend a transmutation charge in a slot, you apply the skin to that piece of equipment itself, not “the slot”. So if you take off that piece and put another, since the look is effectively attached to the armor, you have to use more charges to apply the look you want to another equipment (it’s equipment-bound, not slot-bound).
First, is that true? Second, if I transmute, say, Dryad Headgear to an ascended head piece and pass to another character that’s not sylvari, will they be able to use or does the racial skins rule accound-wide usability?
(edited by Valento.9852)
Man, lots of skins to unlock since they didn’t award us retroactively… I’m just not sure if there’s something given in the past that we may have transmuted onto that’s no longer obtainable, but it’s more likely we have access to everything thanks to TP (but yeah, may be expensive).
I understand your point. But consider some trinkets won’t have any use for some classes… say there’s an overload of zerker trinkets in the bank and some spare items will be unusable, it’s clearly a waste and they’re not that easy to get.
I have quite a few trinkets, I’d like to know this too… or at least make them salvageable, simply selling for 4s is surely a kick in the *.
Oops… something went wrong… or would this only happen to legendaries? Because my Full Fractal backpiece got me refunded with 4 skins (basic prototype, beta fracal prototype, full prototype, and wind catcher I had transmuted onto the backpiece).
If they ever compensate your current legendary for another of your choice, I demand scavenger hunt to compensate the heavy grinding I have to go through while others get free legendary swap.
Someone already pointed out ways the megaserver could have been better. It works on CO and SWTOR for those very reasons.
- You can select an instance to go to by number and meet up with people.
- Divinity’s Reach[#1]
- Divinity’s Reach[#2]
- Divinity’s Reach[#3]Or you could have easier to find ones that are named
- Divinity’s Reach[RP]
or even by language barriers
- Divinity’s Reach [FR]
The megaserver can work, but there is no way an algorithm can match us up better than having the actual choice ourselves.
You underestimate data feeding, my friend.
This patch brought me back… I’m not even trying Wildstar anymore, this patch made me see possibilities, but I still struggle against the concept of CHALLENGE in this game, challenge vs. reward, coupled with a few uncertanties about how difficulty ties with fractal scaling (is increasing attributes really what drives challenge forward?).
I wonder from the bottom of my heart how they could improve upon difficulty to fit within their finely crafted combat system (the one I truly fell in love with), I feel so bad when I run through dungeons and don’t feel challenged at all, like a skin hunting goal PvE “meta” (it’s not that bad, but the challenge…).
Challenge..difficulty…difficult boss fights.
Arenanet has no clue how to design a boss fight. Carbine with Wildstar does. Those lvl 20 boss fights look epic. Arenanet simply adds more hp and more dmg to encounters. And they put in a lazy mechanic with agony…a non dispellable DoT that only certain gear can mitigate. Wow, did you take long to think of that?
While the game took a few steps forward in the right direction, for me, at least with the QoL changes such as wardrobe….stupid dungeon content and dumbed down meatbag boss mechanics plague this game to no end.
But hey, theres always living story to be excited about, right?
I wish it wasn’t all about meatbags and LS (though I see a bright future for the lore).
Hahah… oh the ranting, as if have an universal (acc-bound) free stat-switching weapon wasn’t enough…
Oh guys, just to point it out in case you don’t know… you can Ctrl+Link WARDROBE skins directly on the chat, simple mouse clicking automatically previews the item… maybe that’s the replacement? It’s not bad actually.

Only the name and look of SKIN matters, right?
This is what the Wardrobe and Dyes are about…So if we have a nice skin like Fellblade or Dhuumseal or whatevs, it needs to have their own name. Yes it’s a sharp eyesore…
Even worse than they removed the charismatics…
Eww… if it’s just a name switch, it does matter because it’s simple… change how the game interprets the code and that’s it.
They could arrange buttons to switch between equipment, wardrobe and dyes, and also add the freaking long-wished MINI SLOT! The list-tabbed menu sure is clumsy…
Also, I’ve lost a lot of skins I had in the past, there’s no retroactive functionality, I switched armors as the time passed and got to use quite a lot of skins (fractal weapons for example). Luckily for some odd reason I saved my Jade Staff and my gloves from Flame & Frost waay back then, so now I got 2 free skins (yeah, I spent a lot into BL Keys, I still shudder when I remember how much I put into to grab Fused Staff which I didn’t have enough luck anyways).
I don’t get why Aquatic Benevolence doesn’t apply to the caster, the main problem is staying alive, even stuffing points in water isn’t enough, and they simply nerfed boon duration to the ground to top it all.
Since they love timed-gated content, why don’t they time-gate legendaries and be done with it?
I rage everytime I remember Linsey Murdock’s words…
Awesome post! Yes do not tell stories out of the game, that’s really bad… and involve PS with LS, and PLEASE don’t forget the Largos!
I want new weapons for ele… can someone suggests new ones? Like, I don’t know, floating discos or floating orbs? (give me happiness chills just to imagine the orbs floating while wielded displaying attunement-specific effects _).
Lol. Raids.
This. Hahah these aren’t even comparable to raids.
I for one cannot afford buying new sigils everytime I do a different type of content.
Yes, like have a data record storing all “unlocked” (applied) sigils that we can choose from, it doesn’t matter how we got them as long as we applied them once.
I support this idea and wouldn’t bring ANY kind of imbalance or disadvantage as we’d have to buy the sigils after all.
To be honest.
ANet has so much lore they could work on. And I mean stuff that’s left unexplained/veiled in mystery from GW1 that I don’t feel that much excited by these Largos bunch.
There’s so much more that I’d like to know about other, older stuff.
Not everyone played Guild Wars 1.
Imagine how much possibilities (lore-wise as well as aesthetic!).
Please do something about overflows, it’s bad that we are always forced to work with people who doesn’t want to cooperate and act rude towards folks explaining mechanics (cough Marionette cough cough).
Pllllease ArenaNet. They got to be the most badkitten race in Tyria, I see absolutely no reason they should not be a playable race.
Will we have them as a playable race at any point in the future? Does anyone else out there just LOVE them as how awesome they are/look?
Question: Do the various Zealot recipes also come from those chests in the Lair? Or do they only drop from the Marionette chest?
Got a [Keeper’s Zealot Inscription] recipe from a chest in her lair. (mind you it was the Watchwork Chest, but I think chances are all equal)
I for one am tired of the laggy zerg ridden gameplay that comes with much of the living story. It would be great to have some small group events for a change but considering the next few updates are to do with Scarlet we are nearly guaranteed to get zerg events.
Unfortunately, but I won’t complain about anything, I’ll just enjoy the lore and take a break from expectatives about challenges. I suggest you all to do that… I’ve enjoyed A LOT this patch’s story-telling.
I love it, please ArenaNet keep rocking! The dialogs were awesome, every dialog I mean the voice-overs were incredible!
@Edit
I’m being honest. The voice-overs were great, and Fractured trailer style too, mix both! /drools
(edited by Valento.9852)
I’ll just get the meta and that’s all… I’m only interested in lore at this point, marionette’s a laggy zergball despite how “epic” it may look but I must confess that ArenaNet is slowly getting there when it comes to open world real challenges (at least the zergs are a bit more well-split).
Yep! All those cool glittery effects and animations are a nightmare of video spam at these “zerg” events. Great with 5 participants or less, really terrible in a zerg. Anet has a problem that the use all that crap to telegraph “1-shots” so you can “dodge”. The basic game mechanic is not really suited for large zergs…. They did a fair job with the tower fights, and the marionette thing works if you basically just push the “1” button, but the worms are an unplayable mess just like Teq. Spoon
These NEW telegraph marks on the floor reminds me ALOT of Wildstar telegraphs. #justsaying
Really? you want SAB to be harder going forward? What? do you want each stage to last 4 hours w/Tribulation mode difficulty a minimum? Developers, do not listen to elitists.
But it’s so much fun, I did with a bunch of friends and all of us got to the end for our yellow skins, they barely log on the game so we did it on Saturday afternoon.
What is the problem with GW2 players? They act as if Tribulation Mode was the end of the world because they can’t… jump?!
Over 4,2k hours and no sight of a precursor, and I don’t really care, as long as they bring scavenger hunt so I don’t need to rely on TP’ing it’s ok.
They could let us switch platforms to assist others, we did our part with hardly 4, and the other group got 6 unorganized players that failed miserably (3 got downed at once).
What about the middle term? A 24-man raid, or “a medium-sized instanced content” (in GW2 not-gonna-copy-WoW mentality)?
Oh, absolutely yes! I just didn’t mention it, but I would love to have those too, definitely.
I like the idea of “permanent” cleanse of Orr. But that idea has at least 2 very clear problems.
1. Once you cleared it up and had no mobs to kill, the game would go down really quickly (read, it would become boring really fast)
2. The segmentation of the world and the community, like you wouldn’t be able to play with your friends who haven’t finished Arah yet, is clearly a thought of someone who doesn’t understand/like the MMs on MMO, and prefer loneliness with the henchman of GW1.Henchman and heroes, by the way, are words that would instantly make me quit GW2 for good.
I don’t see the connection… make big challenges inside an instance within the respective map, and after completed the map is changed? Just like Tower of Nightmares?
Yes, I love it. But most importantly, I like variety. I like having content meant for zerging when I feel like zerging, and content for 5-man party when I feel like it.

New eternity skin dropped in our last kill
Stahp making me laugh I’m at work gaahahahah
It happened to me many times but I thought I was drunk somehow, so it IS a bug.
Why is it an “or” and not an “and” OP?
Yes I enjoy open world zerging in an mmo AND yes I enjoy instanced content and stuff like Liadri.
Not sure why it has to be one or the other.
Because it obligates us to have a massive coordinated zerg that’s never organized in order to correctly beat the content?
I don’t like zergballs, I’m all for instanced content which you have total control over since you set the limit on how many people can enter.
I wish they stopped with open world events. MAKE MORE INSTANCES!!!
Careful! People will hunt you for statements like that. :P
Raiding w/ your own guild is better than raiding w/ random pugs……
This.
I feel sorry for their continuous attempt to have Open World have challenges when a simple instance with a squad (a.k.a raid) would do it. sigh
Why won’t you people just forget these huge bosses need a holy kittening number of players and leave our emerging elitist servers alone! [/sarcasm]
You can’t call it “Living World” and then give people a Time Machine Library(The Great Library) to give everyone the chance to go back as they please. Living World gives you 2weeks, your choice to make it or not.
If you can’t make it, then that is fine… do whatever is next. I wouldn’t find it fair or fun that the things I work for to get, anyone can just get at any time. Nope, sorry.
You got it totally wrong. The Great Library would just hold information, records and (maybe) chances to replay cutscenes, not experience the whole thing again at any time.
Just like in real life we got newspaper and disasters recorded, so could happen in The Great Library, they could implement it in a number of awesome ways.
I think that by the end of the season we’ll watch a cutscene showing something inside the Eternal Alchemy, either when she first saw it or the Eternal Alchemy reclaiming the knowledge once given to her.
