Rewards in this game is bad compared to a LOT OF games I’ve played before, just saying.

Everyone arguments jealousy, but gold grinding isn’t the only answer for something being “legendary”, still think these weapons lost their purpose.

I’d gladly exchange my Gift of Fortune for a precursor btw.

It does not feel legendary anymore no matter what they say, just became an ordinary item rarity. Could even change the name for something more appropriate.

You’re completely missing the point. People’s “egos” are not deflated because they realize that their shinies don’t make them special. We are hurt because all that time spent into the game could have been achieved by simply trading on the trading post and using our spare time for other things. Honestly, no one cares about you enough to get a legendary just to rub it in your face. People get legendaries because they look good, not to impress others. Stop being paranoid.

No, don’t mix PvE with sPvP, Gift of Battle is for PvE legendaries.

ANet tells the odds, but not in percentages, they say like “common, uncommon and rare” chances.

Azjenco, I’m saying that there will be new crafting components specific to Wintersday. To get them, you play Wintersday stuff. Activities, events, etc.

We took a very different approach to Wintersday crafting than Halloween. There’s a lot more recipes and we made some of our unique skins considerably more easy to get.

Yay love that, now we can have a cool skin and don’t farm like crazy.

That’d be a much better idea if there was only one precursor for all weapon types. What is an elementalist going to do with Dusk though? Level an alt to 80 and save it for them?

I don’t get the complaining here, you can get everything and have the certainty you’ll be able to craft the gifts. The only real problem is a total RNG precursor, you will never ever have a guaranteed way of getting it regardless of how much time you farm, THIS is annoying.

What people forget is that Chef discipline can craft Unidentified Gray Dye (rare), I got 2 Abyss Dye from it.

You cannot salvage ascended gear, so I suppose there’s no way to get the infusion back.

I’m just giving up on my legendary. I chose to do the legendary, but I don’t see the point in putting RNG all over, I’ve already put up with all the gifts except the precursor, I WON’T farm 300g to buy it, it’s plain stupid and demotivating.

I’m not going to touch this game until they offer a real challenge instead of more stupid farming/gambling, this does not make the legendary weapons more “legendary”, it just makes them stupid; I’m not recommending this game, as I’m sure people will quit once I tell them about this wonderful RNG system and the odds.

If I have to G-A-M-B-L-E or G-R-I-N-D a kittening lot to have something I chose as my end-game, then I don’t play until something is done about it; I want a challenge, gambling/grinding is not a challenge, everything that is a real challenge is this game rewards with poor-looking gear/weapons, everything that looks cool is just plain grinding or gambling.

Dude, Jade Maw is the easiest boss ever, and you can skip the whole fractal to it.

I just don’t understand one thing: precursors. The devs ALREADY STATED that it was not intended that precursors would become so expensive, the rest of the legendary is surely doable, but grinding 300g for my precursor? You’re kittening kidding me, right?

Thx for the info about quoiting let me see if i can come at this from point to point.
The thing is you can get these items with out T6 mats and the cost of these mats are falling as ppl find new ways to get them because there are ways to get every thing beyond just simply one zone farming that was going on when the game first came out (3 months ago). The big thing a lot of ppl miss is any game with some type of wvw system in it makes it a point to be a major part of the game over all. In GW2 WvW is part of pve its not true pvp its more of a player controlled environment vs a computer program environment.
The big thing about daily and monthly is that they are counter grinding tools they are not causing grinding at all. In some ways they taking the ability to grind these rings by making them daily only that may be what making ppl more unhappy then the idea that they have to put a bit more time in to the game then they wanted.
The thing is this game is 2 games in one part is pvp with spvp and the other part pve is well pve and wvw. What you seem to leave out is that the game been out for just 3 months there just been no time for the game to adapted to the players or even to the pc ppl are running. What is wrong is that we have games that have been out for years WoW is the best example of this its been out for 8 years but for some reason every game that just comes out ppl think these games should have as much if not more content then games that have been out for 8 YEARS. So these games must have something to do that take up time so the first new events must take up time but these things can seem as if you MUST do them but there is no need because they are most like going to add in many other ways to get these items. Do you truly thing fractal going to be the last thing they are going to add to this game?

They could put seasonal stuff to help progress towards the legendary, like every month a season of farming (at a normal drop rate) some items, like the season of icebrood hunting, season of praying to the spirits of the wild… if they want to make it a long-term accomplishment, don’t do so by adding freaking lot of farming.

I need the precursor, clovers were too easy for me and it’s much much much easier now that you guys have Jug of Karma and can buy Obsidian Shards for only 15 Fractal Relics, I don’t see the point of complaining about clovers anymore.

If the gifts increased drop rate, once you dropped the desired precursor, there would be no effect afterwards until that legendary is made.
And I’m over 1k hours and nothing.

I got everything done with 12 attempts of 10 clovers, and 10 attempts of 1 clover. Really rng, and I’d like to say here that doing 10-recipe may be a good idea to gather matts, for whatever reasons (other gifts, selling, etc).

“We dont’ make grindy games”… (just farm a little) “We don’t make grindy games”…. (farm a bit more) “We don’t make grindy games”… (keep farming, you’re getting close)… Please, don’t break my heart.

Just one thing, not all the difficulty comes from final boss, I find Old Tom, Grawl, and Ice Elemental really difficult at 30+.
