So, I’ve been thinking, I believe that many elementalists love staffs (maybe not the staff skills, but the staff itself), and didn’t like the rainbowy lollipop.
How would you like the legendary for elementalists to look like, if you were in charge of designing it? Comment about the appearance, and mainly the effects (body glow effects, and footsteps effects).

I myself would like an staff specific for elementalists that would have a base default look, and would have swirling auras based on the element, upon switching attunements. The foosteps would follow that same element, that would be rather cool, the devs can do whatever mechanics they want to I see this as a possibility.

Dunno man, I’ve been playing an ele since closed betas and I love the class, just wish ele staffs had more buffs to give allies.

Hey guys, do you believe will expand the combat system at some point or will we stick to this very framework forever?
I know there’s balance, but there are so many things I’d like to see in combat, and class depth to be specific (many people may dislike, but I like class-specific titles, like Elementalist → Elemental Master, etc).

One of the great things I like in the game, is walking up to a random NPC and discovering a mini story from them. The new patch had loads of little NPC’s which didn’t obviously have stories to tell, but rewarded the player when you spoke to them – many within the instances. For me, this is a hugely rewrading way of telling the story and really got me going out exploring the village and talking to more NPC’s.

For me, this is the way forward for subtle, world building story telling to accompany the main story. As I said, I’ve no objection to them being on the forums/website, but I’d LOVE to discover these lesser stories through background NPC’s

No, I’m mostly a PvE player and I like WvW sometimes.

I think the whole RNG hate thing (mine included) is because it has a bigger impact in a skin-hunting no gear progression MMO than in a standard one, since we only have skins to hunt for we expect the drops to be average fair like standard MMOs stat gear, but skins are much more RNG-based than anything else, it’s difficult (through RNG) to get skins in this game than to equip someone with best stat gear in other MMOs because the difficult in stat gear MMOs is about bosses and well-designed fights, not solely on RNG.

I mostly agree that the game doesn’t reward skill… really, there’s nothing left to be said. If the devs like so much currency, why don’t they add Playerskill Coins and place them as reward for difficult stuff? The only well-designed difficult thing I have experienced in the game was JPs, Mad King’s Clock Tower for instance, took me about 8h to complete it and I was going to give up…

Tried 100g for the staff skin, the very first decent staff for elementalist I’ve ever seen and had to gamble to win absolutely nothing.
The lack of decent staff skins is unbearably disgusting.

TP is incredibly INCREDIBLY boring, I run CoF p1 in zerker group… there are loads of groups that don’t require 1 mes+4 war though, so you’re good anyways.

It’s funny how everyone hates the idea of improving the way precursors are obtained (making it easier to get) because they have Z0MG 3-6 LEGENDARIES!!!11.

Fun fact: They need to improve chances of getting precursors and lower the chances for further precursors (2nd, 3rd, etc), this will surely make people shut up; the way it is now is the most horrible implementation of a legendary hunt, and don’t tell me it’s just about “item quality”, their skins stand for what they are as being the overall top skins for weapons in the frigging game.

I’m starting to think that gathering people on dragon spawns is because the lack of decent rewards across the open world, this makes the players focus on dragons so they get a rare once a day; if there was other places for such rewards, of course there would be lot of people farming EVERYTHING, but not everyone like it is now.
It’s the same old reward system problem, it’s a shame, no matter how hard they try it always comes down to rewards.

OP is right, light armor & heavy should be more balanced.

GW1,
Heavy = more armor
med = + element resistance
light = + mana pool

GW2 should be something like,
Heavy = more armor
med = +20% endurance reg for 6 piece
light = -20% heal skill cooldown for 6 piece(best bonus for lowest armor)

This. It’s not that hard to figure out, and there are the forums to answer such questions, sometimes a dev will drop by to help you.

Also, invite The Dreamer wielders to fire off happiness across the sky. xD

It would be simple just to add overflows to the maps instead of allowing people to join other servers’ maps, so if you have a friend there you can safely join them in overflow and not mess up things like events. (well it’s mostly dragon events lol)

Ohh I miss this from old MMOs, I’d go further an dream about some kind of time distortion in the skies making vortexes appear all over like a “take over”.
Ahhh… heavy weathers sure add so much to overall experiences, both PvE and WvW (it would ruin sPvP I suppose), and yet… ahh… .

Just realized Blazeridge Steppes is more or less like this, but it’s not vortex but purple corruption flowing along with thunders as the Shatterer traverses the entire map.
Have I mentioned how I love Shatterer?

FYI most in-game, real elementalists stay on fire 90% of a fight, unless it’s a crowd of mobs that demands many AoEs to slow down, stack bleeding, burn, and finish with Meteor Shower. And it’s not the elementalists’ fault, fire supply all the damage needed and will do fine alone against a boss, unless it has constant-spawning minions AND they happen to aggro on you. In open world I can pwn a lot of mobs just in fire, the sense of attunement swapping is only valid for competitive areas (WvW, sPvP).

Gendalf was able to wield a sword and a staff on Lord of The Rings. =(

Also, I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I think female faces for the sylvari are a bit gross and don’t look female like the other races (except charr that’s very difficult to tell lol) despite their grin animation…

I’d like to suggest the artists work on that too.

I was thinking of putting the long hair style on my female sylvari, but it doesn’t look nice enough as it’s too much “spread”.

Please please, consider making one like this (not so spread sliced-like hair), I hope an artist at ANet hear me out! /hope

The idea behind spreading players in the maps is working as intended, I myself stick around helping lowbies killing creatures near dragon’s spawn and the whole areas do feel more alive.
However, the lag is terrible, I don’t have a fix for that but the problem isn’t about the rares; hope ANet sort this out as quick as possible.
