500 gems most likely
Hopefully more nodes will drop, more people will farm it, and the TP prices will drop, and everyone will be happy
Sounds like a dream scenario, but what will most likely happen is people will get greedy once they realize what they are worth and prices will sky rocket like they did with precursors pushing them beyond anything the average player is willing to pay for.
I put all my gold in my personal guild bank, (leader and only member) and now I’m locked out.
500 gold on tp for omnomberry
(edit) now 650
Elder wood node 1000 gold lol. I pretty much throw elder wood away (sell to merchant) no one buys it.

People who post on forums unfortunately are the vocal minority. While I understand that you want your voice to be heard, you only represent a small portion of the overall player base.
A good example of this was what SOE did with their playerbase for a game I won’t mention here. By only listening to the people on the forums over minor issues, they alienated most of the rest of the players in the actual game who never posted on the forums which in the end caused a tremendous loss of players that they never recovered from.
And yes I agree there have been some good ideas, and some issues that have been posted about and ignored. I have posted some “issues” myself and gotten an infraction for bumping them.
As for people calling each other out here, that is something that has been a thing in MMO forums since the late 90’s. If you have a complaint, you must be a troll. There will always be “super fans” who see nothing wrong with the game. Best to just ignore those posts and move on.
(edited by Vanive.3804)
This is a long shot…..and I’m not sure anyone knows this…..but does anybody know when the loot roll is set for champs bags?
Does the loot roll for the champ bag stop once the mob is killed? (meaning loot for the champ bag is set before you loot it?)
When the bag enters your inventory (meaning loot dice are rolled when you pick up your loot)
Or, does the loot roll begin when you double click on the actual bag itself? (meaning loot is not set till you actually begin to open it)
I know MF has no effect on this, I’m just curious as to when the roll takes place for most of the loot containers in the game, just because.
Horrible idea. Honestly if you think leveling in this game is hard or grindy, then you’ve never played another MMO in your life. This game probably has the easiest leveling system of any MMO on the market, and yes that includes after the feature patch. If you want multiple characters, then be willing to invest time into them actually playing them. Quit being lazy.
Only way I’d get behind this idea if it deleted the character you’re transferring from.
I have been playing MMOs since the late 90’s….so I have played plenty of MMOs….(Starwars Galaxies, Jedi grind…perma death.#2003..nuff said) Thing is I’m old, cranky and too busy in real life and only have time for grinding up one character in this game. So it would be nice to switch up which class I play in 80 zones and not have to do the grind to get there. I mean the whole hard grind thing is being taken out of games since the old days and replaced with instant gratification, lets just go all out and remove the grind altogether. Can’t beat em, join em xD
Add something in options to disable the voice over. Just because you paid 500 gems for it, does not mean i should have to listen to it if i don’t want to. This is past annoying now.
smh
I really don’t understand this. A game with lots of annoying sounds and you target one that annoys you because people paid money for it? I’m sure you are OK with Birthday blaster though. I’m calling shenanigans…The difference between this backpack and the regular noises a character makes is this:
1- When jumping or getting a status effect the player character either doesn’t make noises or does so at a much lower volume than the backpack.
2- The volume of the backpack is much louder than weapon skills, player character sayings and other ambient sounds.
3- The fact that the sayings from the backpack have speech bubbles makes this item not only AUDIBLY intrusive but also VISUALLY intrusive.
4- I do not need to hear when another player:
- On kill
“Commencing—search—for—loose—change.”
“Congratulations. You—killed—something.”
“I—will—notify—the—next—of—kin.”
“Kill—count—plus—one.”
“Threat—exterminated.”
- On weapon swap
“Always—keep—the—enemy—guessing.”
“Where—were—you—hiding—that?”
- Knocked down
“Error: Positional—orientation—is—horizontal. Recommend—vertical.”
- Jumping and leap
“Boing.”
“You—jumped”.
“Your—grawl—impression—is—really—coming—along.”
- Dodge
“Begin—evasive—maneuvers.”
“Whee!”
- Falling damage
“Gravity—test: complete.
Gravity: confirmed.”
“I—expected—a—larger—impact—crater.”
“Score—update: gravity—1, you—0.”
“Thank—you—for—breaking—my—fall.”
- Low health and low health while downed.
“Further—damage—to—user—could—be—catastrophic.”
“Termination—imminent.”
- Rally
“Commence—second—wind—protocol.”
- Reviving allies
“Gratitude—leads—to—gratuities.”
“Ground-rubbing—complete.”
“It—was—all—me.”
“No—thanks—necessary. Some—coins—would—be—nice, though..”
“Replica—Job-o-Tron—to—the—rescue”.
“Welcome—back—to—life.”
- When fearing enemies
“Run, coward”
“Be—afraid”The rest for the conditions a player takes…okay that’s fine because our characters DO say audible things for that. But I do not need to hear when a character changes weapons, jumps, kills something, revives someone, etc. Those sayings should only be audible to the character wearing the backpack.
Edited for formatting and to add this…I used to love Job-o-Tron. This backpack has made me hate him.
Pretty sure the vocal minority on these forums aren’t gonna change it. Most players in the game aren’t bothered by it, it’s just the fickle ones on the forums complaining about it. Soon as you take away the sound in game, people won’t be happy.
I must admit, I am one of those players that dont enjoy leveling grind, and definitely dont like the new leveling restrictions.
I have so much more fun playing a high level character, but I want to get my low level characters to high level so I can enjoy them as well.
I have an idea. How about a Mentoring system in which we can choose an alt that we can pass our EXP to to level them up instead of the character played.
this could be optional so it doesnt effect those that love level grinding.
thoughts on this?
This idea, its genius. I am sitting on a bunch of characters that I cringe at the thought of leveling. I don’t mind the normal exploration and mapping…just getting them to 80 sounds so meh. Once I got my first toon to 80 I actually backtracked and it made it easy to finish things I missed.
I do not like the idea of crafting an item to do this. Maybe if it was an easy unlock I would be ok with this.
(edited by Vanive.3804)
Glints was challenging solo to say the least. But I made it through.
chars.
I’m not going to buy any more of them… unless I get a discount.
Like the first pick is 1000, the second is 500, the third 250, then 125, then 75, etc. For identical ones. It gives a cool discount and rewards frequent buyers.
Yeah that will happen in say………. NEVER.
I don’t know why but in someways I feel the way they do some of the gem store purchases are idk….poorly executed. This coming from someone who owns all the mining tools, the salvage tool and all the BL harvest nodes, skins ect ect.
Lets be real here, $10 isn’t a lot of money…if spent on things one needs in life…..when you start talking about $10-20 items in the gem store I start to consider these as premium items….and anet dose not treat them as premium items, meaning they are bugged, poorly designed, clip (armor skins) or stop working properly for a length of time (copper fed salvage-a-matic)..give piddly amounts of return value (gathering nodes could have at least been Rich nodes)
Point is they are not about giving us “value” in the gem store, its about making money and offering you shinies and trinkets they hope you will like. Asking for prices to be reduced is something you would do at a yard sale, and I would be surprised if anet was even receptive to the idea. One could only ever hope I guess.
Add something in options to disable the voice over. Just because you paid 500 gems for it, does not mean i should have to listen to it if i don’t want to. This is past annoying now.

Yeah not sure how often they appear but would be nice if they were more often. To be honest I did not know about this permanent pass and when I see it again I’m gonna snatch it up.
Such a simple, yet succulent and tasty suggestion. I could devour it with some nutella spread across its sweet sweet loins.
I would even go so far as to add some powdered sugar, or perhaps nestle chocolate syrup… maybe pancake syrup? So many possibilities with a post like this.
Maybe it could do with cookie crumbs sprinkled on top with tiny M&Ms, mayhaps it would be better to just smother it in sweet & sour sauce with a side of chicken fried rice. Pork fried rice would work as well.
If you gonna get real cray up in here we could even squeeze a little lemon juice over the top, then smother that sexy
bodypost in tartar.
I’m not sure what I just read here O_o Off topic discussion about Martha Stewart pr0n? Or just plain off topic?
You guys are confusing player farming with gold farmers. Actual farmers are literally bot farmers that operate 24/7. What you are seeing is the average player farm, because in this game and most MMOs unfortunately it’s what you have to do in order to obtain what you need or want.
I played over 2 years on normal mode, never even got close to making my first Legendary…one day I said enough is enough after seeing people who had played 6 months with legendary weapons. I decided to farm hard to generate money to buy a precursor and the rest of the materials I needed. By no means do I constantly farm, and that could be said about many other players as well. I imagine if I had just played without farming it would have taken me 5 years of playing to obtain everything I needed. While for a very small minority of players this might be ok, I do not have the time or dedication to spend 5 years on something like this. So I farmed, got what I needed….moved on to other things. Did this ruin the economy? nope. I put in buy orders for most of what I needed and people filled them They got the money they wanted, I got the items I needed.
Sweet.
Please give us 1st person mode!
Or at least picture mode
I know. That’s what my question was originally about. Why does the dev team set things up from the beginning to cause drama?
I don’t think they do. I just think it’s an oversight. Eitherway they should know people like loot chests, so people will always take the easiest path. At 80 for some you really don’t have much to look forward to once you do all the mapping, finished all the content for fun, built all the legendaries you wanted, it becomes a job to just horde gold for the next cool piece of gear.
For some they are just tired of doing the same quests over and over for their alts so they decided farming in the best way to gear their other toons. I mean really, this game for most players at 80 is slim pickings, and if farming is the way to keep people playing then that’s the what anet is gonna allow.
Only way anet could fix this is to pretty much make a new map the size of the old one and raise level to 160, then maybe people would have something new and exciting to do for a few months, but this would leave old areas empty…and eventually we would be back to the good old farming again. It’s a problem that plagues many MMOs, people run out of content and leave. The ones who stay farm, while a small group of others role play.
Anyways thanks for telling me about this, I know where I’m gonna be tonight. xD
Here we go again lol
Most likely they would just make new weapons or weapon skins you can change colors with dyes. It would be too much work to implement this with the current weapons, though I think it would be cool for legendaries. I would run around with a black Dreamer short bow.
Someone was continuously jumping a the bank in LA so yep, I do feel as though the sound should just be made for the owners client only. It is pretty irritating now. I thought it was pretty comical at first but the novelty wore off. A way of muting it should be brought in.
If they do that I’m getting my money back. You should thank us for supporting a game you play for free.
i want this to be added to the player instrument .. is annoying and some players purposely harass other with this … i mean just say in game that you don’t like this backpack and you become a magnet to everyone with this backback .. they all stand by you and try do stuff to make the Annoy-o-Tron talk to annoy you
lol “Boing”
When I was doing the living story instance he was pretty chatty, it made the whole experience hilarious to be honest. I hope they add even more sayings.
I don’t understand why people are complaining about the chatter. For 2 years now most of us have had to listen to “For Great Justice!” “Getting Healthy” “That Feels Good” “Pain For Pain!” lol. I just think it bothers people because it’s new. In a few weeks you will hardly notice it.
It’s a decent enough idea to introduce some comedy into the game. But with that said, this talking back pack that EVERYBODY can hear has been poorly implemented imo. I say this because it was put into game w/o a way of controlling it exclusively.
Just like there’s a slider for the player instrument volume in Options, so should a slider be there for “player bought item noise” (or something). That way I, and others that don’t want to hear such “noise”, don’t have to turn off ALL of the game’s dialog just to not be annoyed by somebody’s new toy. I like that I don’t have to lose listening to the game’s magnificent score just because I don’t want to hear someone’s horrible attempt at playing jingle bells on that flute…. over and over and over again.
You may be right – in a few weeks (or months) perhaps people won’t even hear the repetitive “go faster” every 2 seconds while running in a WvW zerg. But WHY??!!! put something into game that could (and does) alienate some of your player base? And introducing something like this back pack that can’t be managed properly can make some people just not log in until they have an adequate way of managing it… i.e. – the “player bought item noise” slider.
(I know that if I couldn’t turn off player instrument volume, I wouldn’t play this game.)
Well if that’s the case lets just kill the noisy minis, and make the game a completely sterile environment for people who are bothered by noise.
I was at FE one night, and someone actually had the nerve to ask another player to stop dancing because the sounds he made bothered her….lol. What I do when sounds get on my nerves in GW2, I turn down the volume, I mean the music we have all heard a million times before…so not really missing much.
Any set date for when the prize picking for the raffle is? My patients is running out
Your patients are running out? You work in a hospital?
lol must be the ebola scare.
Anyways I’m hoping I win something. My luck at epic valuable gear is pretty bad like most people xD. I had the pumpkin rifle skin once, sold it for 8 gold during the first Halloween…wish i had stashed it. That and the Avian pauldrens, I sold those for 50 copper because no one wanted them and the market was flooded with them….sigh
Find me a Star Wars reference or Monkey Island reference xD
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Delaqua_Family_Blade like this? Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the gem store item you bought.
So is this OK with anet? Are they even doing anything? NO… I’ve been running W/E daily and I’m seeing a lot of N bombs being dropped in local and zone chat. Mostly the same folks, who I also report. They are back the next day doing the same crap. It’s getting worse cause I guess you can’t be banned over it?
A perfect example of this was last night when I was at Shatterer, some guy decided to go full on racist mode literally saying ever derogatory word he could think of as well as lashing out at players who asked him to knock it off with a flurry of offensive insults . At least 50+ people there and I’m sure he had more then 20 verbal abuse reports over this. What did he say when people said they would report him? “I’ll be here tomorrow, same thing #%#%#% off.”
I have screen shots of the whole entire incident, though I know calling him out here is also a bannable offense, not to mention these forums are no place to post some of the stuff he said…..but i guess in game it’s ok?
I put him on my block list of course, but you can see his online status….and sure enough…he’s been enjoying the game all day with no apparent punishment over it. Either he lied his way out of it, or anet just threw it out of their system as insignificant. -_-
:D Well this proves anet does care to fix what a lot of people find important, now if they would just fix the Commander tag covering up harvest nodes and other important features on mini maps , as well as the disappearing cursor issue that has plagued this game for two years now…we would be golden.
Please change this.
thanks
Stuff like this isn’t put on some conspiracy back burner for nefarious reasons. Someone is working on it and when it’s ready they will patch it. In some cases this requires a new build deployment, in which case most times those are deployed with numerous other updates (you would hate it if they made you patch the game for one thing) Unless it is something overwhelmingly game breaking, in which case they will patch immediately.
For this I imagine since the BLTC is browser based, they can deploy it without any interruption to the game client and those logged into the server. In fact since they changed the browser platform it might require little on the user end other than refreshing (closing the BLTC browser and reopening).
Just take a deep breath folks, I’m sure they understand your frustration… if they say they are fixing it, they are fixing it.
How about scaling RNG in favor of those who repeat the event? Those that have killed him 100 times be 1% more likely to get something better than the new players or something along those lines.
I second this. No more spoons.
Just throwing this out there…..what classes are people playing that they have the best luck in ingame precursor drops? I’m kinda wondering if higher DPS classes are getting more loot drops. I play my thief mostly, while I can tag mobs solo for a drop easy enough, others playing say Warrior get better drops and more of it. I wonder if over all damage done has anything to do with with the dice roll.
@Vanive
If you read it carfefully the problem is not the champion bags, but the fact the farmers have been mean to others not doing the champ train, in other words for killing “their” champs.
The reactions of trying to get bags banned is just a reaction to this. The issue isn’t the champion bags, but people not willing to share an MMO with others…. And being mean and rude to other players.
The fact you do not see this and didn’t read the OP’s thread seems to show you are only here for the bags as well… Just think about it.
I read the OP, and my point still stands, do not remove things over feelings! And if you must know most of my game time is spent doing world events. I rarely jump on champ trains and when I have been on one people are nice and call out where the train is.
I get that sometimes people are not nice. We learn this as kids, and as adults we know how to deal with it through the proper channels instead of sobbing in a corner over it.
I’m sorry people hurt others feelings, and yes people are mean…but that’s why most people with any sense of maturity will /report vulgar or harassing statements made towards them or other players regardless of the situation, and move on. You would be surprised how many reports I make in a week over racist, violent, sexual or rude comments that show up in global. I don’t even bother commenting on them, I just report and move on.
This has nothing to do with champ bags, people are just rude. If it wasn’t champ bags it would be something else. Give me a break. xD
Wow, really?
Lets take away rewards instead of increase them, that will keep people playing this game xD Worst idea ever. This has to be a troll lol.
These cry for nerf threads are what destroys games if devs listen to the sob stories from players on the forums. I’ve been gaming since 1999 and I can name 10 big MMOs that took a kitten after developers listened to the whiny vocal minority on the forums. In interviews for a game site I was part of back in the day, I learned hind site is a mofo. Raph Koster said it best “you dance with the ones who brought ya”. I hope anet is smarter than this.
Just grab a few warriors and have them banner the NPC’s while spec’d with the banner cool down trait. The NPC’s should last long enough between rotations that the event won’t fail. Now all that need the event to succeed can get their living story. The farmers can just let it fail after the escort succeeds.
Can’t banner NPC’s anymore.
It only takes one person to succeed the event and wreck their farming. I did it yesterday after taking a few days off from the game. Logged in, went to Frostgorge and completed the event for them. I actually got two achievements in doing so. My new favorite way to get AP is to hunt down and derail farming exploit spots like Coil.
So you are openly admitting that you enjoy griefing players you deem as a nuisance to your play style just because? And this is fun how?
Do you have a happy life outside this game on the internet? Seems you do not and I’m sorry for that sir.
Anyways….
I though griefing in any form wasn’t allowed in this game…but I can see it is since anet is taking a hands off approach to this. It seems they are just going to let this whole thing devolve into some kind of war of angry nerds and not do anything to stop it since they can’t make both sides happy.
Problem I see is racial hubs and LA would become ghost towns if they allow crafting ect on a full time basis so I think maybe it would work better as a two week unlock.
Anyways here is what I would like to see:
1. nodes for harvesting that you unlock through guild achievements.
2. Guild portal hub directing to racial cites and the mists as well as a portal into your home instance which would need to be unlocked on both ends.
3. daily loot boxes
4. Furnishings
5. critters to kill for hides and other materials
6. A personal Champion encounter in your zone that you can unlock . I assume it would be best if it was time gated.
Yeah these new collections are lame. This whole game is based on RNG, or grabbing the credit card for gems to gold conversion. I guess this is how they stay in business, though I wonder how many leave over frustration.
(edited by Vanive.3804)
lol nice troll on us I guess.
well i am losing hope of prercusre crafting and in mysticl toild ihave spend 4000rare gs on toild and i am abut to quite my last 1000gs coing to it and the crafting mathers prices have lost last sanity 10g for full stack of t5 maths what is lowest soo i hope the make precuser crafting becous the people who are making 300g in 10min are riping on people who done one spend 1.5k g on prec
I put this through google translate but it still wouldnt make sense.
Bolded part explains why.
lol. Must be a phonic speller.
Anyways I’m just gonna assume the whole idea anet proposed is a dead idea.
Tp/mystic toilet/or loot…nothing is gonna change. I’m pretty sure most of precursors in TP are forge attempts and they are only getting a fraction of their money back. So who is smarter, the TP buyer of the forger? pretty sure the answer is buying it, unless you are lucky.
figure when is your “lucky” time, for me it is usually 1 hour after reset on thursday
save money, buy a lot of rares/exotics and use them in MF only during that “lucky time”
i got 5 pres from MF with very little investment of about 200 gold
And remember, Dusk only drops when it’s night ingame while Dawn will only drop during the day! Also, not only do you have to figure out your lucky time but search for your lucky spot to stand as well! After you figured this out, only stand in this spot!
If you really want to get lucky, I have this magical talisman for sale! I originally didn’t want to sell it, but since it’s you, you can have it for just 200 gold! That’s just a small investment for all the money you can make with it!
This made me lol.
Ill say it again
Instance road marker for the people needing story. They can group up and finish in no time. The problem with that line of thought is that you’re saying the people playing the game as it was designed are the ones who are not playing the right way and need to have their way adjusted. When in fact it’s the exact opposite.
There are already farms IN Frostgorge. Anet does not need to cater to fail train farmers at all. And in the long term fail train farms are bad for the game no matter how you feel about them, don’t kid yourself.
Ok Im gonna call you out bro…
Bad how? prices on things are at an all time high and I have been here since early launch. If anything flooding the market with cheap items is a good thing. The professional botters are the ones making the money currently, not random gamer dood trying to make his 10 gold for the day.
Maybe you are part of the botter scheme and people are stepping on your toes? Cause that is what I believe the poeple who are trolling the fail trains are about. No one knows anything about who these guys are IRL (like that commander named Gr****r) so as far as I’m concerned they are part of the bot scammers trying to stop competition.
I think they are really worried that if it looks to much like a spreadsheet, people will get too scared to us it lol. Thing is the people who don’t care about it will always just dump stuff onto the highest buyer and move on. I mean they would be happy with an instant sell drop down on the item itself. The rest of us though.
Normally they don’t…but sometimes they do, If they start burning down fast then you know they are real champs and not scaled event champs with no loot.
Think you got it backwards.
Pretty sure the champions with a lot of health that don’t drop drops are always there (non-scaled); those that do, with normal health, only show up for high scaling (I always see a Goliath and Wolf; only in large parties do I see troll, quaggan, and kodan – in that order of smallest to largest).
No, what I meant was their health % scales, not the spawn trigger itself. Sorry if that was unclear.
Ill say it again

Instance road marker for the people needing story. They can group up and finish in no time.
Added three more albums.
http://imgur.com/a/JhIdm
http://imgur.com/a/hvpaW
http://imgur.com/a/WnGw2One thing to note – those guys were going to every instance of Frostgorge, flaming anyone who wanted to complete the event, and then screwing the people farming it as well. Every instance of the map, for hours.
It all comes down to around 3 people who were there with no other intent than to interfere with as many other players as possible. That isn’t playing the game in any sense. That’s harassment.
Yeah it is…thing is they will win in the end because anet will just lengthen the spawn times (easy fix for them) Sometimes the easy way is NOT the best way.
I honestly think anet could fix this if they just put an instance marker on the road leading up to coil and let those groups of people who want to band to together for it to succeed can and do it out of world, leaving the people who like farming in the open world alone.
Pretty sure, as others have said, that the champs at Jormag do not drop champ bags, and never have…
You are mistaken. Some of them don’t, but some definitely do (though i can never tell which ones do until they die).
Champion Icebrood Elemental —-(Phase 1 drops no loot) Drops loot for pre-event on last crystal.
Champion Icebrood Goliath —-(Phase 2 does not normally drop loot)
Champion Icebrood Quaggan —-(Phase 2-Drops champ chest)
Champion Icebrood Kodan —-(Phase 2-Drops champ chest)
Champion Icebrood Troll —-(Phase 2-Drops Champ Chest)
Champion Icebrood Wolf —-(Phase 2-Ocasionally Drops Champ chest)If people let them go, everyone doing other aspects of the event would die fast.
Oh, thanks for the list. Though i am sure that goliaths do in fact drop chests sometimes.
Normally they don’t…but sometimes they do, If they start burning down fast then you know they are real champs and not scaled event champs with no loot.
Better yet do dungeons and buy the dungeon weapons with extra tokens you get. You basically throw soul bound weapons in to get one exotic you can sell (this is part of the gold per hour dungeon run) The bonus is you may land a precursor.
lol wow. How did this happen?
