In SPvP – lyssa or leadership runes (good for stacking protection’s duration or for more stability uptime if you’re running retribution) + popping up glint’s heal helps too. Staff 4 and dodging pretty much makes it too. Don’t try fighting good condi mesmers though, ever.
Mesmer, Thief, and Ele need more unblockable options that fit within their meta builds. For example thief has to go condition to use it’s unblock able traps. Thief especially could use some more trait based unblockable options.
What will happen to skills like this that already count for nothing?
Do people forget the existence of other game modes like WvW?
I mean yesterday we had this Kodash vault staff/caltrops full dodges thief able to dodge every 0.5s, immune to immobilize, unCCeable…no dmg..but was able to stall 10 people from capping a camp..and we tried everything: immobilze traps, range CC,everything but…he was literally 100% dodge mode

A couple of people reported this after the LS3 update. I’ve seen at once, and only on allies in PvE instances. (Others seem to have seen it more often.)

Well, the first ranked PvP match this season I played with a bunch of randoms and we ended up playing together for another 10+ games because we just kept winning. That definitely could have been something had I not had to go somewhere… I should’ve added them to my friends list.
I am glad you had a better experience of ranked games. My is so toxic, I disabled teamchat and went offline so condi mesmers and other confusion stacking bullkitten stopped PMing me after a match.
I don’t mind them “fixing” out of combat legend swap. I will however be kittened if they do that before fixing unrelenting assault + confusion proc suicide. As if condi builds don’t counter rev enough…
Man we know why every pvp revenant is kittened about now. I am ready to bet some gold on it, this thing is gonna get fixed next patch (like the very next patch) because there is probably That One Guy that took his time and reported it already. Meanwhile there is a ton of other revenants filling reports on confusion multiprocs and UA stuck bugs since the first day of last big patch. One mill damage in sPvP is terrible. Someone with 1/10 of that is potentially more useful than you because high damage numbers simply mean that either the other team ignored you or you constantly went into fights you couldn’t win – you fail at killing people = bad pvp

You move slower while the animation is activating. Try it out, someone with swiftness can walk in the middle of the jump and cancel your animation.
You can move while the jump into mists animation is winding up, but when you reach the point you’re about to start porting you get stuck in place.
Honestly, there should be some brain in that skill or counterplay to it so that’s okay. What bothers me is that UA often canceled if you press two movement buttons at once but again, it only takes some time testing it out and getting used to it till they fix it. (and if they fix this annoying one out of two at all)

The only condition that is kittening me off is confusion, there are simply too many stacks of it. And it does more damage than any other condition in pvp.
kitten please, I expected some good looking ARMOR when I purchased Phalanx for my female revenant (only checked the looks on my male warrior before that) and got some pieces of metal brassiere instead. And I actually liked the looks of male version.

I’d agree if you were asking to make the skins that would require some outstanding perfomance in the past to be harder to obtain (and still somehow obtainable). But alienating veterans with newer players like that…never worked well.
After browsing these forums, am I the only one who loves what they have done with revenant? Great relevent builds for each gametype, and a lot of fun to play. I think they did a pretty good job with Revenants =D

In fractals maeby switch out corruption for retribution.
The better solution would rather be not facerolling all conditions and dodging attacks instead. Not to mention you’re still vulnerable to cc and boon strip/corruption. Try slotting sigil of cleansing into your stuff, that should help a bit too against conditions. (would still not recommend fighting good condi mesmers though, key word is good) As for the runes, most popular choice so far is either Durability (for boon stacking in blobs) or scholar which is also top PvE choice too.
Retribution? Why? Low lvl fractals maybe but on higher levels people would just start flaming you once they find out you’re using that traitline instead of Devastation. From revenant it’s expected to be DPS fury bot in most PvE content.
The thread title specifically says Open World REV Build…. So it isn’t designed for high Fractals or PvP.
He did mention WvW and immunity to condis in his posts though, why would you want an immunity to condis in open world PvE otherwise.

As for the build, spvp or wvw ones? For SPvP it’s either Sword/Shield + Staff zerk or marauder + scholar + sigils you like most. Your job is kinda similar to that one of thief, +1 plus focusing targets that need to be down fast in team fights.
WvW builds it really depends if you’re fighting in blobs or roaming. There are many roaming builds but they are more often than not very similar to those sPvP ones. For blobs you can pretty much just copy-paste from metabattle http://metabattle.com/wiki/Revenant

Yeah, I’d just like more weapon choices and variety for revenant. There are two classes could be compared to revenant when it comes to weapons – elementalists and engineers but if eles got attunements and engis got kits with wide variety of utility skills they can swap any time whenever they desire, revenant has only got two legends and an energy management on the top of that.

Not only is he entertaining to watch, he tells you exactly what he is doing so you may try to gather what you can from the video and apply it to your gameplay to be a better player.

PvE wise, Corruption in fractals….? Unless you need a boon strip on higher levels but that’d be still not enough. Why runes of warrior too? It brings nothing on the table.
WvW wise, seems like ok build for blob fights (range group) but I’d never take anything like that for roaming, at least not with mallyx.

If you call winning at a game’s format objective useless, then the entire game is useless. Of course things change when you win the Mist War. Somebody gets kicked off the tier, you get a new match up, and you get tourney tokens.
I mean, I can’t really take you seriously when you say winning keeps and towers doesn’t change anything. That’s like saying scoring a goal in soccer doesn’t change anything, because you’d just rather run and not play the game how it’s meant to be played.
Nobody wants many mesmers in their group. Nobody wants druids. Nobody wants daredevils.
What they want is a metric ton of warriors, guardians, revenants, and eles with a smattering of necros.

What I am trying to tell you is that WvW wins have no effect in long terms. I mean, well you won and got to the top tier now what? Leachers will join, bored people will transfer to another server and raise it, leaving previous server in misery. The circle repeats, same Santa Barbara. Few new people join, many people leave. Nothing changes, only looks.
WvW fights isn’t only a small scale. A good comm would always want at least one good experienced mesmer that knows how to portal bait/bomb, I’ve seen enough to be sure that mesmer is a very useful class on healthy WvW. But yeah, nobody wants RANGERS and daredevils.

Most condi mesmers I come across aren’t the problem either, but that’s another topic just like why people should 1v1 once in a while for practice. What bothers me, is that revenant looks so unworthy bugged and rough right now, I sometimes forget I bought this game and it’s not free to play project.
Dire mesmers are more than WORTHLESS in WvW. Do you honestly think your garbage dueling/roaming builds accomplish anything in a format all about large groups of people taking keeps and towers?
WvW should NEVER be based on duelist/5v5 builds. We’re balancing for zerg play in this format, and mesmer AoE is utter garbage as is their illusion/shatter mechanic in any large scale engagement.
I would take my hammer revenant over any mesmer any day for a 20+ man blob taking territory from the enemy. Which is what wins you match-up’s. Not some stupid 1v1 pride.

I was blessed (cursed) with night time zone when I am mostly being able to play only in small scale WvW and yeah, I’ve seen a lot 10 v X fights taking place at keeps and garrisons with condi mesmers participating. And should I remind you that people keep checking captured objectives so no mesmer creates a portal and none of hostiles come through and flip it back? Definitely kittening useless
We can’t ask for 1v1 class balance, especially in a pvp format like WvW which has no 60% crit damage bonus cap (which spvp does, so in WvW I can bring a character with 220% crit damage bonus, which is ridiculous), allows broken stat combos, allows condi/CC duration and reduction food, and which doesn’t punish crappy stealth spam or invulnerability chains.
It’s not about 1v1 balance, it’s about countering gimmick builds with class mechanics. Not just being able to hold but kill, which not all classes can do. I don’t think bursty power based damage, CC spam or any other condis but confusion are overpowered. Condition mesmer simply got too much confusion and any good mesmer runs runes/sigils to cover it making it harder to counter and cleanse.
Ranger pets don’t scale with ascended gear, don’t gain the 220% crit damage bonus the player does, does not benefit from food, does not benefit from potions, runes, or sigils. Ranger pets do not attack doors or objects, and cannot attack from walls or up to them. Ranger DPS builds are garbage.

Mesmer Cry of Frustration is pretty bad in most of the game, and they don’t have any worthwhile DPS builds either. They’re a buffbot gimmick class much like ranger and revenant are. Except of course revenant does 30k DPS and mesmer does 14k at best, and ranger 17k on a power build.
Let’s just pretend we never had dire mesmers on wvw.
Necromancer signets don’t work in death shroud, and their death shroud makes regen and druid heals useless on them, harming them more than it helps while classes like warrior/ele/guardian can be immune to damage and still receive heals and not be used as pinballs.
Traited plague signet does actually work in death shroud. As for the heals, signet of vampirism does work in shroud which is funny.
