Revenant got some burst with UA and shiro’s heal and it really makes some people lose their kitten in PvP but after that, there isn’t really much sustainable damage left.
As for PvE, I kinda feel sad as I was considering getting the achievements for upcomming legendary armor and I heard people started discarding revenants out of raids. And still if they wouldn’t, the role of boon duration aura bot doesn’t look appealing for this class.
If you wanna duel there is a game mode for that called pvp. Or duel in OS.
Roamers is another thing, they do things that actually help the server so that is welcomed. But people that duel in maps like ebg are worst that afkers, because afkers at least get dced after a while.

And objectively I don’t see any problem with that but what I see is all those kittening “wvw players” losing their precious lewt bag blob fights and then blaming it on the duellers which are already scarce thanks to you “wvw community”.
Blobber? If a 20-25 man guild group is a blob to you, then I guess…?
PvP is part of WvW, but that is when you actually kill the other guy and do something for your server.
If all you do is duel until one guy is down and then let him res then you are literally doing nothing helpful.
If you don’t like the pvp mode go to OS.
You guess what? Still enough to carry people that press 1 and toss random AoEs?
Oh and believe me all duelers kill a lot of guys (and stomp them too). We don’t just duel all the time but also roam and help capture/protect objectives once in a while because getting good would be pointless otherwise, just like the whole never-ending WvW thing. I’d even say we kill more people and bring positive k/d counter to our server than the rest of the crowd.
You seem to be blinded by one desire – send all duelers and skilled players to OS so they don’t farm you for precious lewt and ez badges. Please don’t impose your opinion on the others and let people play for the game they payed for, thanks.

There are two things I do on WvW currently. First is flipping camps in night time to try pick up a good fight. And trashtalk with comms that think they are hot enough to tell me what to do
I used to spvp a lot but it’s become kinda boring and stale with its “variety” of builds so I switched to WvW to find new interesting builds, gimmick or not Idc as long as it has a great idea inside it. Mostly find dire mesmers and permastealth thieves though, but I still like that kind of the fights. I just wish I could run into players I could learn from more often on EU ;_:
do you guys think the revenant will get any better in the future? im not referring to the bugs getting fixed but whether or not it will become a staple in things like small roaming groups in wvw, dungeons, etcetera etcetera. right now i feel that its hard enough managing a 1v1 on a revenant while i can even 2v1 on my engi and ranger rather easily. what do you guys think? will there be a significant improvement for the revenant in the seasonal patch? the build variety also feels a lot more limited than the other classes.
Revenant It’s a very good 1v1 class, out of condi warrior and necro you can beat any class. And you can also manage a 2v1 for a lot.
It’s also has a crazy mobility so pvp is not where a revenant need buff.
For wvw I think its Pretty fine, as a romer it is really good.
And it also good as a backline.
It could have some buff to the pve aspect where, at least in raids, isn’t really that good and a lot of people are starting to push out revenant from squad composition.
Can still beat those too if you don’t go all braindead faceroll.
Well actually in pvp I always open the match as a revenant pushing far, so I duel very often reapers and condinoobs warriors. And since this season started I have lost maybe 2 1v1 at far, and I did it all the way to legendary division. So Yes as revenant you can also beat condi warriors and reapers but it is way more hard than Powers specs.
Reapers aren’t hard with Mara amulet, Warrs are threatening because confusion rekts revenant pretty bad. Pff, that sword 3 x5 ticks instead of intended one can instagib any revenant but it’s also a cheese to use with infuse the light if you can condi cleanse it after (kinda abusing runes of lyssa for the second season so far).
Unless you joined a guild that plays specifically in your time zone, it could be dead a lot of the time because you play in a weird timezone to them. I have found this myself playing on US servers from the UK, I joined a guild because I was playing late night, when I switched to earlier I found I couldn’t play with them. Solution is to find a guild that IS on when you are.
If you only play wvw you are playing a subset of people anyway. Again I’ve found this when going to get badges of honour last time, if I got on too early I was alone, two or three people would turn up later and then shortly after that we’d be outnumbered.. I don’t think there is a solution to that apart from stop turning up at the wrong times. Best way to do that is find the guild that plays at your time or look at a server move to one that is popular in your timezone.
There is still the chance you won’t get a decent wvw population in your timezone because rng timezone.. but at the same time you may find a new guild helps a lot.

Think I haven’t tried searching for a guild? Those I found on EU aren’t really hardcore and most of the time PPT/K-train which they start doing just once I am off to work(and I am not really into that shabby business). I also tried transfering to NA and even found an appropriate guild but guess what? Ping over 600 so not thanks, begged Anet to transfer myself back to EU because I couldn’t even participate in any area that includes big ammount of players.
I am playing in aussie time zone (actually from Eastern Siberia but the time zone is very familiar) and after logging into the game I find myself alone most of the time. On both guild roster and WvW, even enemies I stumble uppon are usually not very numerous unless it’s EB (and it’s still very unlikely too). And if I decided not to play in my prime time zone, my other choice is to play after work in late evening when I am fairly exhausted and can hardly concentrate and that’s very crucial part since I like roaming/competitive more than anything else in this game.
So yeah, in my time zone the game is pretty much dead. I’ve only been playing for 11 months but I am starting to think I should not have bothered with GW2 as well as other MMOs.
Please make revenant not be dependant on that god kitten healer ele for condi cleanse. I agree that 2 stacks of stab every time you dodge has no counter play, but give revs more condi cleanse.
Also, rev already has one of the best stunbreakers in the game, the 2 stability is just unfair for the enemy. Just like conditions are towards revenant.
No counter play? Corrupt Boon, Acrane Thievery or Bountiful thief? Oh I guess I thought up those in my head and they don’t actually exist.

You know only 1/3 of professions have access to boon removal?
How is a class without boon removal suppose to cc them?
I know revs have a definite counter with conditions, but the condi cleanse on dodge is pretty whack compared to the amount of conditions flying around.

If he wasn’t using mallyx, then he is almost certainly using the first trait in Corruption, Replenishing Despair. Why? He isn’t really inflicting torment, nor using demon stances. So the other two traits would be out.
For sure he wasn’t using Mallyx legends but still he can (and did) inflict torment of crit and using Axe#5. And he did apply poison as well. I am 99% he had Venom Enhancement, unless he used some sigil/rune. Still this seems rather unlikely since his poison application was rather frequent and I don’t remember myself having torment without poison.
And, as a last argument… Who would ever take Replenishing Despair?

Agreed, there have been too many individuals trying to boss around on WvW recently.
“DONT DUEL”, “DONT CLAIM” (even though there wasn’t anyone else around to claim anything), “DON’T PLAY THIEF/RANGER/ENGI”, “PLAY META”.
All above usually said in more harsh manner but whatever. Play it like you want, just don’t grief the game for the others.
On another note, if it’s like what you said about people complaining because they are unable to reach it themselves, they can do something about it instead of belittling other people’s achievements. “If I can’t have it, then nobody can”.
Right, there have always been that kind of human creatures in any of MMO/moba/multiplayer games. They keep thinking up excuses like “my team sucks”, “that build is kitten” or “the game is kitten” and once they unconsciously realize that they can’t hit that mark they just start working against players that actually reached something without kittening. It’s all about EGO and ego is very strong with Fashion Wars 2, the game itself grows players around themselves and they get kittened or just give up on game if it puts tough obstacles in front of them.
I can see why are all those “this system is kitten I stuck in Sapphire” guys being happy about this change but honestly, I got titles from all 3 seasons and I seriously don’t give a kitten if it would show on WvW or PvE since solo purpose of getting those was to get better. And to tell the truth, last two seasons were just cheese and ez-pz enough to tell badges don’t mean anything. I have seen WvW roamers much more skilled and superior to some legendary players that like to boast in HoTM. I’d even say it’s like running around shiny legendary skins, merely cool achievement but doesn’t actually tell you anything about players skill.
Gem priced got kittened up, I am stuck at Desolation and now the skins are also untradable. Feels like this game is slowly going to F2P chinese model with all it’s bugs and patches determined to lure more cash out of your pocket with least efforts.
Yeah, same feeling here. Monkey king stance with staff would actually make sense for thieves, however not revenants. Which still doesn’t make hammer fighting stance appropriatly looking for staff stance.

Playing revenant is such a liability. No legends aside from mallyx/shiro underwater, no utility skills with wvw banners and utility skills strictly linked to one of the legends. One can meet a revenant on wvw and say about their skills set within 2 seconds.
I sincerly hope it’s a bug though since the class is kinda full of them.
What do we say to good condi mesmers and bunch of permastealth thieves? Not today.
Jk, seriously, never had a problem with them until I ran into 9 people squad of permastealth thieves but that is not something one can encounter everyday on wvw

Through wvw/dungeon vendor would be a cheese. Maybe as a random drop from fractals or dungeon chest would be good but I am not sure if people would want to see some things suddenly become cheap.

Good for you, I feel all alone in my aussie time zone because there are not really many PvPers running around when I play in any game mode and even if there are, they are boring and seem to be running PvE builds they can’t play on WvW.
Wouldn’t that mean he wants to transfer to a server that gets matched up against GH then so he can fight your roamers instead of joining them as they get blobbed?
If I were you OP I’d wait until the next round of links is out or until we find out how this poll goes otherwise you could end up transferring then a feline happens and roaming becomes rubbish again.
Edit: My own server Whiteside Ridge has OTAN, CURE, AoC, TasH and EVO as roaming guilds that either solo or group roam. We have raid guilds that GvG in the way of ONE and BTA with other guilds like Ari and US that as far as I know mainly do WvE fighting and PPTing.
It’s worth saying that a lot of these guilds have members that have been on the server for years when it was the 29th server out of 29 and in other times when they went to 23rd/22nd. So doing some PPT grabbing camps and towers if you can does happen.

Not usually, the roaming ones just kind jump into WvW and go kill people, flip camps, maybe flip towers or go to duelling spots and duel people.
The raid/GvG guilds do practise but it depends which one you’re in, ONE who I join sometimes, does practise in guild hall/PvP arena if people are messing up a lot, if there’s new people or the leader thinks they need the practise. BTA I don’t know about but I’ve seen the effects of their practising. Same for US and Ari tbh.

If you’re looking for an organised raid schedule with regular practise sessions and tournaments then you’re most likely to find that on higher tier servers however you’re less likely to find roaming inside prime time which can be anything from mid afternoon to almost midnight.
Currently playing on Desolation and so far this server leaves a bitter taste of disgust once it comes to skill. Blob mentality mostly and commanders that curse at people for duelling or roaming outside of their blobs.
I admit I am just trying to find a good players to play against and learn from them outside very limited SPvP, which has proved to be troublesome recently.

Gunnar’s Hold is awesome for roaming – but close to no GvG, i think we have only 1 GvG guild right now. But roaming – superb. GH actually does have solo roamers aswell, which are a very rare sight on our enemies’ servers. Not talking about noobs trying to flip back camps on home border, but real solo roamers going out to find 1v1, 1v2, 1v3.. also can pretty much drop a hello on any map and get invited to a roaming party asap.
Meh, whatever. It looks like it’s all dependent on match up plus I am sure Anet may end up linking those low tiers with some other big servers thus spoiling all the fun.
Any big and active roamer guilds on EU? That bother with improving their knowledge and skill rather than stacking blobs? Would appreciate any info.
You forgot to include the part when comms are being kittens due to their overgrown ego. Or PTT blob kittente cursing at roamers for trying to have some healthy duels.
But from the rational side, tell them to kitten off and hit ignore, they are many and you’re one. However, that won’t solve the problem if they start scouting for hostile server, draining your supplies and hitting tactivators KEK
Pay it no mind. No matter how many placed Anet adds specifically to cater to dueling (That room in obsidian sanctum, guild arenas, custom pvp servers) people will insist on creating dueling areas and get mad that you’re playing the game as intended.
If you can stomp all over people dueling at this point in the game, you should. Anet has been more than cordial to these people, and they have many MANY options for places to duel where they’re not actually getting in people’s way.
They kinda kittened up Obsidian Sanctum for duellers recently, with that spawn re-location.
The only no-skill condition in my opinion is confusion. There are too many skills that apply too many stacks and you don’t need that much to insta K.O yourself. And even if you don’t do anything, it will still tick for a lot. That’s what makes some classes way too annoying to fight. (IMO condi necros are fine)
Are there good EU GvG or roamer servers in low tiers? Kinda getting tired of this PTT crud and blob fights on my server, with comms kittening each time they run into duelling people or somebody uninvolved into their loot bags farm.
