To the people flipping on Mike : you’re misinterpreting what was said.

By the end of the 24 hour matches things WERE fairly competitive in most tiers due to matchmaking.

Now we are in a whole new world with 1 week matchups and the system needs time to again pair fairly competitive servers against each other.

Sit back, relax, and try to have some fun.

The people on IoJ and SoS complaining about havin to compete durin their prime time and then the NA heavy server having all the focus during their prime time is super lulz to every single NA server except the ones with super heavy Oceanic presence.

Thank you for realizing exactly why we all hate being matched against IoJ or SoS for example. The 2 NA servers always have lots of competition in their prime time and then IoJ/SoS cleans up during theirs.

You’ve now experienced the same thing as everyone else, congrats!

It depends how much more you lose or gain based on 2nd or 3rd and by how many points you lose. The admin post makes it sound like losing by more points = more points lost in rankings, etc

Here’s the tough one. GoM and BG are only 10 points apart in standings with GoM ahead but BG came in second in this match not 3rd so it could go either way.

No low pop servers have queues on all 4 maps at the same time, ever. Except for ET and we all know why, don’t be shocked if you go there and have a queue still.

He is saying it seems like some worlds are able to get say 300 players in instead of the 166 cap or whatever. I have seen this happen as well. Sittin in a queue for a few minutes to get into a borderland and then when you get in you have the outmanned buff. That should be impossible. Queues and outmanned but should obviously not go together.

To be fair, I played on TC all weekend and the point split was really close all weekend afte the initial lead that Dragon got. Several times TC even held the lead in points for a while. It’s only after Sunday night that we lost everything and woke up to like 2 camps and 1 keep (not tower).

Dragon is clearly superior, but it’s not a blowout or to any degree that makes it not fun. So far Maguuma and TC both seem like “we don’t quit” servers.

I buy all my siege with badges. You don’t even need gold to compete if you don’t want to use money.

Its actually not ridiculous at all. I thought so too when i first saw them, but I use my badges to buy tons of siege equipment and I’ve already bought a piece of the gear for 330 badges and currently have over 400 of them in my bags right now. I haven’t used coin for siege in a while to give you an idea of just how many badges I go through and still have that many saved up, and I always make sure I have at least 1x ballista, 2x rams, 2x arrow carts, 1x treb. The badges come quick if you’re getting into big fights.

Server’s in last right now but it seems to be a manageable situation if we really work some strategies. I’m cautiously optimistic that even if we don’t win, we will have put up a worthwhile fight.

TC is actually the server I decided to play on today because I wanted to WvW and I knew they had a good community bc of being the RP server…was really surprised and had a blast and it was close allkittenday in the points…with TC even taking the lead for a while when we capped and held Stonemist for a while in EB.

The siege over the fully upgraded ABay in DB borderlands was epic….then the quick loss due to people not sticking around to defend properly was sad. lol

Nope, NSP has a huge night crew that takes everything after midnight and then people say kitten it because they don’t want to waste money or time recapping and reupgrading it all again.

They give up because they know that every night the same thing will happen, NSP will take all the upgraded keeps with no people inside of them. I understand why they give up, it frustrates me…but I get it.

Devona’s always does amazing when their main group plays from like 4pm to 11pm EST. Problem is when that group isn’t running kitten, no one does anything.

After that…absolutely dead. All other hours of the day. Its getting pretty old for me, playing on Tarnished Coast today has been a lot more fun.

The WvW populations aren’t even close to equal. We had outmanned buffs before midnight PST last night.

SoS really helped you guys get back over that 400 mark in the IoJ borderlands. Those intelligent people are attacking nothing but blue instead of green because they are scared of ET or something lol.

The OP was made like 30 minutes before WvW rematches and the start of 1 week match.

Not unusual for WvW to become fairly empty in that time frame.

Now you’re trying to queue like 15-20 minutes AFTER reset. When everyone rushes to WvW the most.

Well it’s a game. So the goal is to have fun. And WvW is lots of fun. So, no its not a waste of time.

I’d bet you earn it faster on a server where you can actually group with your guild mates and get into WvW when you want too.

No queues over here on Devona’s Rest.

We at Retributuion just transfered from Jade Quarry to Devona’s Rest the night before last. We went from impossibly long que times and rarely ever getting to do WvW to almost insta pop’s and at the most a 5 minute wait in the que.

We are looking forward to working with the other guilds on this server to move us all up the rankings list.

And today was great on Devona’s. We lost everything overnight as usual, but it seems we have force in daytime now and wiped through 3 maps, was great stuff.

Few more guilds to us and we will really start to push on as a server

Last night I saw a group rush from tower to keep to tower destroying everything. There were no defenders left behind and absolutely no siege equipment built. Not surprisingly, all the towers and keeps were retaken within a short time.

That was why I mentioned a Zerg, because that’s what it appeared to me :-))

I mention this not to be a complainer or whiner, far from it. I feel however that Defense of Towers and supply depots is an opportunity for DR to step it up to the next level.

Ah yes, last night was a bit of an off night for us. We were trying to hold what we could with lower attendance (we had both Borlis pass land keeps and orb until numbers fell off)

Most of the guilds and WvW leaders were in WvW meetings preparing for the upcoming 1 week matchup and working on the alliance details. WvW had to suffer a night for it.

At the very least you’ll see us taking stuff, holding it, and fortifying it. We’re ready and excited!

Blankspace or Oroshi would be the best to contact for coordinatin with the PTX WvW team. There are others but can’t remember the surname to their names. You can also contact Fragg (me) in game and I’ll get you the best contact when I’ve got access to the full roster.

There’s also plenty of other guilds all running stuff every day. FIST, MoB, HIV, nMe, BP, Aeos, AO, Merc and more

Tonight will be interesting though indeed. People have been waiting to get serious about upgrading and defending, I know my guild has been stock piling siege and saving money for week long matches.

WvW is about to evolve to a whole new level.

I recently moved to DR and my lvl 56 was almost instantly invited to a large WvW guild.

I was impressed last night when I saw the message concerning the guild leader summit. This is a good indication that DR is getting serious.

That all being said, DR needs to grow from a Zerg, no defense mindset and be more willing to defend what was conquered.

Leaders need to politely inform folks not to take supplies from towers and keeps. Yak herding really needs to stop. And finally, arrow carts are your friends.

I’m sure these issues will be sorted out however. I expect good things down the road for DR.

I think you will see a whole new side of DR tonight.

However I’m actually surprised to see the mindless Zerg word. Though we are starting to get some new to the game players so maybe they are running around and I don’t notice because I’m usually in organized groups. We hardly have enough people on maps usually to even be a Zerg haha

PTX invites anyone who wants to organize with them to join their TS server and coordinate. Message any member you’re running around with in game and they will give it to you.

The organization is definitely there on the server, and we do make sure we try to educated the new players rather than just complain about mistakes they make. I actually have a SS I took of my map chat last night as a new player announced himself and asked for advice and several people immediately gave him great tips. (on phone ATM tho)

The server had a meeting with lots of guilds last night and it went very well! Things are shaping up better for this server everyday. We’re still seeking more guilds that want to work together with this amazing community to get to the top.

D’oh! And here I just transferred to Devona’s from Sorrow’s Furnace to find a tighter and more organized WvW community. Sounds like things are evening up a bit more, though? If so, that’s great.

You made a good move…just wait until you see what things look like tomorrow after reset.

Kaineng needs help, but its not like Devona’s doesn’t still need people as well. We are very active about our trying to expand our WvW community.

This is all 100% accurate. Devona’s Rest is ripe to climb the ladder if it can just grow its community a little bit more. We’re looking for people who want to work with the server to climb from the bottom to the top, its going to be a long, fun and rewarding journey.

Extra need for late night and early morning coverage (based on NA time zones). When our guilds are out there and working together during prime time we usually hold a large majority of the points, its only around midnight EST when numbers start to drop as people go to bed and the other larger server always has a larger night population to take it all unguarded.

I’m not in full 80 exotics yet and my highest hit to date is 12.5k on a Thief that was trying to heart seeker spam me. Felt good. Lol

Lol psh, this is specifically to stop you guys (and everyone else who rotates in, we stomped NSP until late night began) from taking it all at night!

Devona’s Rest is shaping up to be an amazing server to have as your home world. Our community is better than any I’ve seen. People are always communicating information and helping defend or attack where needed. People are all working together instead of yelling at each other or calling anyone a noob.

We’ve got quite a list of WvW guilds developing on the server. Our prime time is strong. Our organization as a whole server is great…people typically comment about it or how awesome the community is when first joinin the server.

We humbly seek the assistance of some to join us and help complete this server. You can be the final piece to the puzzle that sees Devona’s Rest climb the ranks. We have terrific coverage from reset until around midnight EST during the week, this is when the other servers tend to start capping and thus keeping us down in the bottom bracket.

WvW is FUN on Devona’s Rest. There’s no waiting, and our “pugs” are amazing and work with us!

The WvW karma vendors sell blue, green and yellow quality gear for karma in approx 5 level incriments…

As well as drops you get being auto adjusted to your level.

I leveled up probably 70% in WvW from lvl 5 on.

It’s on a 5 minute timer a believe and it’s to prevent trading camps for XP or whatever. Though I dont undersand why people always think this would be such a big issue. Good luck trading camps, most people are competitive and will come to those swords to kill whoever is there. I would.

I’m aware of it, but I much prefer servers that don’t have any queue. Sidenote, how does “queue” have 4 vowels but only one syllable? That is ridiculous. I’m renaming it que.

Eclipse, I suggest that you just make the switch.

Making the switch now is much easier and less punishing the sooner you do it.

I do agree that you should be able to keep your influence, or get rewarded for doing so, but compared to long queue times it is a much smaller price to pay.
Plus when guesting is back in you can ‘guest’ back to your original server until you can get enough influence on your new server to use some of the guild benifits like guild armor.

Waiting for hours is not fun yes. But is keeping your influence really worth having less fun in a video game? Its a video game, I suggest you make the move, you will get the infuence back eventually. You now have a clear list of which servers have the lowest to zero queue times so you can move on your own very easily.

Angry Army switched to Devona’s and I hear they are having a huge blast. Kaineng desperatly needs a large guild to come in and bolster our numbers. We do hold our own (only on 1-2 maps currently, need more people to begin contesting the other borderlands) in primetime now but completly lack any numbers to do anything outside of prime.

Actually some guild tagged SoS just moved there (Kaineng). They were rolling 20+ strong in EB early this morning capping everything, organized.

It’s true everyone on Devona’s has a BLAST in WvW. No queues (always 2 of the 4 maps open) and lots of organized groups during prime time. It’s tons of fun.

The other nigh we were defending garrison being hit by both servers, 1 on each side. They were dropping the walls with trebs then pouring in through the openings, someone on TS was like “omg I feel like I’m in the battle for Helm’s Deep!” it was amazing tons of fun!

First of all thank you very much for posting this, I think the community needed to see it from someone at Anet for it to sink in just how ridiculous the population differences are.

There is a big issue that needs addressing in order for the community to be able to hopefully straiten this out (its doubtful it will really work, but I do know lots of guilds are currently willing to move).

Guild upgrades not transferring when you transfer servers. This is stopping a LOT of guilds from moving. And guilds are what we need moving, not just individual players. Guilds can jump start things for a server like Kaineng, and there are definitely guilds out there looking at moving to servers like it if they wouldn’t lose everything they’ve worked for so far.

I want more people to see this.

Kaineng was stepping it up tonight, must be getting some more people due to the threads like these.
