Why is condi food being nerfed AGAIN. It was nerfed by 50% when HOT was launched, and now over 60% again. Are you just trying to brick everything in the game so everyone needs to buy the new xpac? The nerf to power food was 50% damage, this is worse than that.
Becaue condis are overpowered.
There is no justification to having a single food to give 300 points worth of expertise.

Utility nerfs are questionable tho. Basically everything got hard nerfs.
For full zerk build, with 1960 precision, at best you get +59 power +59 ferocity.
Not sure how its “higher for Berserker builds than it was before”.

I care about 2 things.
1. Elementalists, more specifically staff Eles. What Reaver has to offer so far isn’t very convincing. Also sword is melee so that’s completely out of the question for me.
We’ll have to see what else Reaver has to offer for staff before making a decision, but so far it’s really meh.
2. Nerfs to condis. Condis in this game are ZERO risk and high reward because you only need one stat to put as much, if not more, DPS than any power build. And if anything condis are going to become even stronger than before.
With condis staying as they are, or even getting stronger, this is more a reason to simply stop playing altogether.

As several people mentioned, and Mo mentioned in the AMA, we release on our own cadence and will continue to release updates for WvW outside of the expansion release.
I also wanted to let everyone know that today is all about announcing the expansion, but later this week we will be talking about some of the upcoming updates for WvW.

If they change this it’s basically a buff to the ol’ ACs-hugging strategy, which is already bad enough as it is…
You want to stop the shield gens? You want to save the objective? -Fight for it. Stop sitting on your ACs all day.
As pointed out already, this strategy is not even 100% safe as the gens can still be disabled and destroyed if you aim right behind the bubble.
This has reasonable counterplay as it is already.

Those are DEFENSIVE sets. Soldiers does what it should, You have little dmg output with no crits/low crit dmg but high hp and armor.
Meanwhile in dire you have EVERYTHING, all the dmg you ever need AND all the tankiness in the game. Thats literally ZERO risk with high rewards and should NEVER exist.
The two sets are supposed to be relatively equal but are NOT even close to that.
The point was that they interrupted all wvw activity during its PRIME TIME to put in a pve patch ???

Its not really that hard… I did it solo on an ele multiple times…
If you played correctly and did every single JP in the game on your own, without a mes porting you, then all the JPs in the game are easy.

The patch itself was ok. Being able to put more stuff in storage is always good. also the book for port scrolls is nice.

I just made my Rev a full zerk set a week ago.
Let me have my fun.
Rev is the last viable power class in the game for wvw.
It was never a bug, and working as intended. When ALL guild members leave a map, tactics go public, has been this way since HoT beta. This is so others can use them when there is no one available on the map to pull it, the objective does not belong to your guild, you merely claimed it.
I never left the map for hours and the tactics kept going public every now and then.
Switching to rep a different guild did NOT proc the bug to make it public tho.
This needs to be fixed ASAP!!!!
Today I kept turning public tactivators off public on sm but it keeps going open for public on its own.
This means that there is LITERALLY no way anymroe to stop trolls for enemy servers to pull tactics !!
My guess is everytime someone in the guild that has the claim leaves the map it it goes public AUTOMATICALLY !
This needs to be fixed ASAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s just the meta in wvw is really bad for us right now.
Heavy condi and heavy boon share/heals, and all the builds needed for wvw can still be tanky af. See minstrels, dire, trailblazer etc.
I was thinking how a new stat like ‘armor penetration’ would work. Like if you have 300 armor pen, you ignore 300 of the targets armor(or toughness). Would only be available in a pure offence set, like marauders except armor pen instead of vitality.
Would have to have HEAVY ‘diminishing returns’ vs people whose armor is already lowest possible amount (like vs someone in full zerks) to prevent ridiculous 1 shots.
That would help boost physical dmg from glass cannon builds in wvw, because right now basically everyone has a perma 43% dmg reduction in wvw (perma protection + mussel food).
That would prolly still make thieves and mesmers even more broken op.. but who knows tho.. Just curious how that’d work out.
So I noticed something with red BL recently…
Since the new decay kicked in, the red BL seems to get focused a lot more by roamers or small havoc groups. This is most likely because how easy it is to flip shrines and maintain participation.
This also means bad news for the server on the red side, their BL is significantly more likely to have camps and towers papered constantly simply because their BL is “easier” to get participation from. Which means that the red server is being put at a disadvantage compared to the other two.
Staff isn’t viable in wvw anymore… in fact it isn’t that great in any game mode anymore with all the nerfs recently… which makes me sad.
I have 2.5k hours on my staff ele out of 3.4k hours in gw2 in total.
That’s one of the reasons I dislike the game so much now.
For wvw specifically, ele doesn’t do anything that makes it worth using.
Healer rev does much more healing with tablet. No one even blasts waters anymore… Necros out-dps ele in every way possible.
Guards can provide as much, if not more condi clear + a lot more utility.
Staff ele is dead in wvw.
If you read the OP, I complained about a lot of other stuff too…
5 out of 8 points are about the rewards…
It just makes it look like you are here to ask for more/easier rewards, while throwing in some of the other permanent problems wvw has to make it seems otherwise.
That said, I do agree on the first two.
Can I get a show of hands from those who still played back in the day when you lost money in WvW instead of making it, by paying to upgrade objectives, repair armor and spending hours scouting objectives while they upgraded.
I’d still play WvW if it awarded nothing. It isn’t a job, I don’t do it to support something, I do it because I enjoy it, it’s stress relieving, it’s great for socializing.
Rewards are great and they should be there. It’s proper design to have all areas of the game giving adequate loot to sustain yourself. It’s more important for some people than others and that’s okay, everyone has fun in a different way. But for those who are more focused on the grind, remind yourself that when you reach your goal, you’ll probably leave WvW behind forever. Why should the devs cater to the people who are only there temporarily? The players who have stuck it out through thick and thin, or the new players who have discovered something they love, are the ones that deserve a long term goal and goodies on the journey for their troubles.
You deserve your cut as well even if you’re only there to suck the loot out of it. But don’t expect sympathy when that’s your only motivation. I’m not going to welcome someone to my party who’s only there for cake and beer.
Been playing wvw well before reward tracks and even the synthesizers in keeps/towers/camps we’re brought into wvw.
Played the mode because it’s fun, and still play it because its the most fun mode.
I love the new rewards and Im happy that Anet brought them. And seeing that every other thread in here is someone crying about the rewards… quite honestly infuriates the kitten out of me.
Not to mention they’re a heavy armor class too…

I joined my commander today and we flipped a keep, a tower and 2 camps, a sentry and killed a couple enemies. At the end of all that I was still T5 participation.
As for the decay, I don’t even notice it. It’s a good chance to force people off afk farming… there is always something to do…

It did not happen. DB had in fact won and HoD came in second.
I don’t remember the exact scores but I can tell you DB came in first with a decent lead.
I would like to see a Grandmaster mark reward track that you unlock when you get 500 in a craft. The last reward is a mark but the rewards up to that point help you make that mark.
That actually sounds reasonably good…
1 mark of choice per full track…

If they break links, are people going to come back in here to complain about how about their low server populations and how links destroyed their servers?, even though they were well on that way at the time of links. Because if they break links not one person should come in here to complain about populations again.
Linkings did destroy more than half the server though…

the problem is in this game it is too easy to get stat capped
once you are full ascended with infusions its all about the skins
if the game had further stat improvements to ascended gear which came exclusively from drops then maybe drops would get more exciting. but I dont even need to say how opposed to this sort of idea everyone in the game is
right now for me the only “exciting” drops are black lion key and a precursor. i dont even care about ascended boxes anymore just because i have plenty of sets and spare boxes in my bank.
thats a big reason why i mostly play wvw now, because everything else feels pointless.
if you see playing wvw as a “job” then maybe the mode isnt for u.
i play wvw because i find it fun and the extra rewards are just a nice bonus.
Pretty much all they need to do is:
1. remove/lower pips from outnumbered buff.
2. give +1 pip per rank and make it so that those who are not even bronze yet can gain at least that 1 extra pip.
no rank = 1 pip
bronze = 2 pips
silver = 3 pips
gold = 4 pips
plat = 5 pips etc.
3. Improve loyalty/commitment. Those who are more committed to the mode should get more.
finished wood/bronze/silver last week = +1 pip.
finished gold/plat/mithril last week = +2 pips.
finished diamond last week +3 pips.
DONE. This way even zero rank players on dead servers (rip sos) can still gain like 3 pips (5 if they play enough).
also it is actually annoying how people come here now only to cry about getting rewards slower than those who played for years without any rewards…
Only outnumbered buffs needs to go. Everything else is fine.
HIGHER RANK SHOULD GIVE MORE PIPS STOP WHINING ABOUT IT. ITS FAIR TO THOSE WHO PLAYED THE MODE FOR YEARS!

Rank giving more pips is completely fair and should be kept. Those people have played the mode for this long, they simply deserve.

Condi is handsdown the worst meta Ive seen so far. Literally takes no skill to execute. Low risk high reward because you can tank up like crazy and still hit like a truck.
One time I lagged super hard in a massive fight… I don’t know how I did not dc, but I was like a ghost for a solid 3-4min. I could see people around me fight but I did not take dmg and I could not use any abilities/dodge roll.
I was sure I will dc sooner or later so I was spamming ele staff fire 4, dodge rolls and lightning flash, among other skills.
Well… I did not dc… and my lag went away.. then all the abilities I tried to use while lagging started casting at the same time… I ended up flying half way across the map… all the way into an enemy T2 tower…
First of all… nerf the pips the outnumbered buff. It is too heavily abused. It should give 2 pips at most.
Now, change the pip system to reward only base off you ACTIVE participation. Reward tracks already give rewards for passive participation, we don’t need more of that.
If you do stuff during the 5-min, you get pips. if you do nothing you get absolutely nothing, not even pips from rank/loyalty/skirmish ranking.
Harsh? Maybe. But it will stop this afk pip BS we have right now..
Reward pips for actively accomplishing things in wvw instead of passive things like wvw rank or the outnumbered buff. Moreover, so long as pips continue to be tied to the world’s most lenient participation mechanic, AFKHeroes taking up que spots will continue to reign.

Actively participating should reward pips.
during the 5 minutes you do stuff around the game and the end of the 5 minutes you get pips based on what you did.
Like for example
Leading skirmish? +3 pips.
Took a camp? +1 pip.
Killed at least enemy played/yak? +1 pip.
Defended an objective? +2 pips
So you get, say, 3 pips for being #1, plus 4 for actively doing stuff which means 7 pips.
If you don’t do anything then you get basically nothing.
Number of pip can also scale with the tier of the objective/number of people you kill in the 5min span.
A system along these lines would be better I think.
To the people that want condi nerfed, I hope you enjoy the tank meta. Your power builds will still be useless.

I think making it a blast finished outweighs the 2 sec CD increase. Also I can’t understand why they buffed its healing for pvp but not for wvw… thier “reasoning” is valid in wvw even more than pvp.
On the other hand.. nerfing static again is just stupid. And whats worse is they try to make it sound like a buff “against people trapped inside” I mean come on….
Also air3 change seems good (though I haven’t seen how it works yet) but why was this change made air3 but not to earth5 ???? They basically the same skill but one is a knockback and the other is an immob…

higher rank should absolutely reward more pips. im only gold myself so its not like im getting that much more than most.
it is only fair towards tho wvw’ers who played the mode for such a long time.
yes it is nice by from the little playing i did i already see it being abused.
players flip 1 camp, or heck, even kill an npc every like 5min to maintain participation. this should absolutely not be the case. ever.
