Spamming LFG for fractals and other dungeons.
Ha, fire ele, that’s funny.
But seriously you want ele for big, high damaging AOEs.
No they’re exotic level stats.
[GODS] never transferred. The few that did move to TC are no longer in guild.
Are you suggesting GODS lost only a few people? Because I haven’t seen more than a handful this week, compared with endless 40 man zergs last week. PRO on the other hand looks like the new GODS.
Edit: Also have seen several PRO members alt-f4 tonight. I am disappoint.
A small amount left the guild and transferred to tarnished coast.
A large amount of inactive players were kicked from the guild.
In the initial confusion when Derv was saying we would be transferring to TC a lot of people left the guild because they didn’t want to move to TC or they just didn’t want to be in anymore.
We lost a lot of members, very few of that was due to transfers.
We all miss it.
What makes me laugh is people complain about ascended gear (OH NO a tiny bit of extra stats!) that cost a ton of money to make.
Yet this whole time Triforge Pendant exists and you don’t see anyone complaining about that.
Because triforge pendant has been around since the start.
I spent a LOT of gold on my triforge pendant and I will be sad to see it be replaced by some ascended gear.
I’m hoping it won’t be completely irrelevant afterwards but judging from recent changes, it will be.
Fine transmutation stones.
That’s about it.
The other day I saw a group of 15 pubs auto attacking the gate to a tower. No siege. I watched to see how long they would go on. After 10 minutes I got bored and threw down a ram. It only got half built, because of 15 people only 2 were carrying supply.
We have good guilds, Pro, ULTD, PTX. But our pubs are complete idiots.
So yea, I don’t blame people for wanting to distance themselves from that.
Pffft, we were all newbies once.
It only takes 2 minutes to explain a group of newbies what siege is and how supply works. Then another 5 minutes to lead them to a camp, supply up, run back and build your rams.
Look at it this way…
About 3% of the population plays computer games.
About 1% of that 1% plays GW2.
About 5% of that 1% of 3% plays on your server.
About 20% of that 5% of 1% of 3% plays WWW.So, these people are veeeeeeeeery much like you, it will be hard for you to ever meet a person in real life that is so much alike.
The only difference is that they don’t have your experience in WWW yet.
And you are here on this forum bashing them, calling them ‘complete idiots’, instead of helping these people.
If you can’t even take 10 minutes to explain things to these new people and show them how to do it, then you are more part of the problem than part of the solution.
Just my 2 cents.
What, you think we haven’t tried?
You don’t think we’ve tried saying “hey, ignore the wurm, we are losing our structures”
You don’t think we’ve tried saying “you need to carry supply at all times, if you don’t have supply your main focus should be getting some”
You don’t think we’ve tried saying “do not waste time trying to auto attack gates, it’s pointless”
You don’t think we’ve told them “don’t take supply from the keep, go to a supply camp”?
These people are idiots not because they don’t know what to do, they’re idiots because they know what to do and then CHOOSE NOT TO DO IT.
Yea I always liked to imagine that when I downed someone he was calling for a medic in voice chat.
Also the issue with a lot of pubs is that they quite simply, do not want to listen.
There are a ton of people who know what they’re supposed to do, but just don’t care.
And no matter how many times you tell them “stop fighting the wurm we need to defend our structures”, no matter how many times you tell them “back off from stonemist”, no matter how many times you tell them "don’t auto attack the gates, it does nothing. work on building siege or make a siege run, they just don’t care. They know they shouldn’t fight the wurm, they know they should carry supply, they know they shouldn’t auto attack gates, but they do it anyways.
Like I said I didn’t get the full story, and I wasn’t online last night, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Got (part) of the story of what happened. Seems like I missed a lot past night.
As of now only a small handful has transferred to TC.
The story of why people wanted to move is both sad and hilarious.
Apparently people were tired of carrying pugs which is completely understandable. Ask anyone from FA and they’ll tell you. We have some great WvW guilds, but the pubs are completely terrible. Bunch of people who stand around auto attacking gates without siege.

From what I understand, last night we lost a ton of stuff in WvW because we had a huge group fighting the wurm. Which is completely idiotic, and something I would expect from FA pubs. We have good guilds, Pro, ULTD, PTX. But our pubs are complete idiots.
So yea, I don’t blame people for wanting to distance themselves from that.
Personally I won’t be going to TC. From what I understand, it’s the role play server, and that’s not my style.
Am I the last one to find out about this?
I just logged in this morning to find derv and a few others transferred to TC.
It’s not hard if you do the jumping puzzles, but I agree that the drop rate is too low.
There’s something wrong with the fact that if I do all 4 jump puzzles and then spend the entire day playing WvW, I’ll have gotten more badges from the jump puzzles.
Also the gear is just ugly:

Magic find doesn’t effect salvage.
I don’t think I’ve ever spent more in WvW than what I made.
Blink is useless in arena.
I think 30-45 minutes should be the “average” run.
A run that takes more than 1 hour should only happen if your group is really bad, a run that takes 20 minutes or less should only happen if your group is really good.
All’s fair in love and war.
They only part that should be modified is the arena, because every other part can be done with invaders present. But if another server stays at the top of the arena, there is no counterplay.
But still, it’s part of the game.
It’s pretty easy to get the arena done. Each profession either has a teleporting skill that allows them to skip half of the content in the JP, or they have a jumping skill which allows them to skip passed the other half of the content. Combine forces with different professions and it’s quite easy to stomp your enemies to the ground.
Examples:
Mesmer has the portal, a blink skill and can use temporal curtain to pull down the enemy. Highly successful.
The thief can use it’s clusterbomb and use the scorpion wire. They can teleport passed half the arena with their shortbow, and use shadow refuge to help stealth others.
The ele has tons of ranged attacks, mostly superior to other professions. They can hit heavy with AoE, have a blink skill that allows skipping of sections in the puzzle and have skills to add stability and swiftness.
Ranger has tons of range and an annoying pet. Their AoE is enough to send most people straight into the downed state if you trait your ranger right.
Warrior has its rifle and longbow to cover range and AoE – They also have a leap skill that allows them to skip portions of the JP. Though mostly melee focussed, this is one of the toughest professions to use whilst trying to stomp through a campsite.
Necro has fear, marks and ranged attacks. Not to mention that it can use its teleporting skill to skip part of the arena, much like the thief, ele and mesmer.
Engineer is pretty much the warrior and ranger combined. Use your grenades and you should be able to kill stuff pretty good and quickly. Use your jumpshot to get to places whilst in combat.
Guardian is pretty much the same as the warrior, with extra stability, better range and the ability to use consecrations on the ground – Sanctuary unto your enemy and it should bounce them right off the cliff, if used properly.
Let me remind you though that these are the things I can think off the top of my head. I haven’t properly played with all professions, such as the ranger, but have tried them before I got rid of them so I know the basics well enough to understand that each profession has it’s own unique way to deal with campers.
Right, and most of that is useless in the arena.
Mesmer: Portal isn’t going to help you here. There’s no way to get up top to drop the portal since you will constantly have someone using some CC at some jump. And if you don’t then you’re going to hit by some arrow cart which puts you in combat and makes the jumps 100x more difficult.
Thief: It’s very easy to set up here in a spot making it impossible for a thief to target you with scorpion wire or cluster bomb.
Ele: only weapon that can really hit people here is staff so if you went into it with anything else you’re boned cause you’ll constantly be in combat making switching weapons impossible.
Ranger: Pet is useless here with the height advantage. They can do some damage but it will be negligible.
Warrior: completely boned in arena
Necro: completely boned in arena
Engineer: completely boned in arena
Gaurdian: Can stay alive but will be impossible to make progress until the people attacking you get bored and leave.
The arena portion offers no counterplay unlike the rest of the jump puzzle. Part of it is due to the way combat mode works. If you’re at the bottom and take damage by anyone above you then you will say in combat mode even if you go 2 minutes without taking more damage. Last time I was in this position I got hit by an arrow cart and no matter where I went I was not able to leave combat mode.
Every other portion of the jump puzzle if it’s being camped you can get past it with a group of a similar size or even of a smaller size. And each other portion offers a way to “sneak” past others. The other day I even did the dark room completely invisible from the mystic fountain, which means not using a torch (used the light from mad memories, which gives off light even when stealthed)
But when you get to arena, there’s no counterplay except waiting from them to get bored.
All’s fair in love and war.

It’s a fairly tiny difference. And they’re incredibly cheap, 150 tokens is pretty easy to get.
That’s a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who can’t get past Level 1 due to the bugs and disconnects preventing players from finishing a full level.
You’re overexaggerating.
Yes, there are bugs. Yes, people disconnect. But it shouldn’t take you more than 2-3 tries to get past level 1, and that’s a worst case scenario. Most people get through it in one try.
I’ve only seen a fractal bug once, and we managed to get it unbugged rather easily.
I’ve only had someone disconnect during a fractal once, and we still finished the fractal without them. Level 1 is easily doable with only 4.
Only way I could see someone not being able to get past 1 is if they themselves disconnect frequently. And that’s their problem that they need to deal with.
(edited by Wasabi Kitty.8247)
The only groups I see people forming are for level 1 and 2. Finding a level 5 group has been a nightmare.
This week has made it obvious, we simply do not have the population necessary to compete at this tier.
It’s a fairly tiny difference. And they’re incredibly cheap, 150 tokens is pretty easy to get.
I don’t get what’s to love about his combat mechanics.
He’s just your typical boss, his only unique mechanic is when he grabs your team. You see him charging his grab, you dodge when he tries to grab your party or stand behind a pillar, and that’s it.
Other than one easily dodged attack, he’s just your standard boss.
I always tell my group: kill him or I leave.
I’d kick anyone I saw with that attitude.
Supply, meet demand.
Probably less “spy” and more “group of idiots”
You know, this could be a lot of good fights, but ULTD “Unlimted” has hacker accounts and it is making it unfun.
Well that was pretty fast.
Because it’s part of the map.
100% means 100%. It does not mean 100% of PvE. It doesn’t mean 100% of areas you feel like going to. It means 100% of the map.
I would have kicked you for your attitude.
Even though you’re about to get 26 silver from the completion reward alone, plus chest drops and tokens and xp/karma, that 2-4 silver repair cost was too much for you that you decided to put more burden on the people in your party rather than pay that repair cost.
Easier to just look for the red arrow.
I think they should do like they did for PvP and make it easier to finish someone who is downed by damaging him instead of it being so reliant on finishing them.
Gift, prototype back, 40 crystals or 240 philo stones, and 1 vial makes an ascended prototype back.
But honestly, by the time you have enough relics for that, you will have gotten enough gold to make one of the other ones twice.
Epic 3-way fight at eb sm. that took long. YB in the end got it.
second one of those today i was a part of inside smc.
good fighting all.
Indeed. I am curious as to how exactly we took that? We had seemingly less people than both servers and yet pushed TC out of the lord room and FA didn’t even bother to fight it out after that. We even split our forces between the keep room doorway and then pursuing FA folks. Also FA, the portal bombs are getting old, and predictable. Find a new trick.
A group of TC’s kept the south group of FA at bay by repairing walls/destroying siege long enough for YB to take SM for about 15-30 minutes, cutting off FA reinforcements.
I don’t know if that was intentional on our leader’s part (that we concede SM to YB rather than FA) or if we really thought we could hold SM altogether.
Also I would like to express my gratitude towards the YB folks who almost took Duros after they took SM
.
Hahaha. Yeah that was effed up! A small group of like 8 Yaks including myself took down the gate, walked in and 30+ TC walked in right behind us and promptly wiped our small group and took it.
Well it is 3 servers.
The other night I was with a small group of gods in one of the borderlands. Yak’s held a tower and we saw a decently sized group of TC trying to take it. Eventually TC got the towers either completely destroyed or very low and TC and Yak’s started fighting each other. Eventually TC won the fight, at which point we ran in, cleaned up the TC that were left, and took the tower.
I’m just gonna say it – just my opinion so feel free to flame back.
FA has made some terrible strat decisions in the last two days, we are lacking communication and our supply camp control blows.
We have a lot of room for improvement in all timezones. All the servers in tier 3 have room for massive improvements, and that’s why we’re tier 3, and have stabilised there. We have some level of organisation when certain people and certain guilds are online, but we run around like chickens with our heads cut off when those voices of reason and direction are not present. We run around like chickens even when they are, a lot of the time.
Too often in these threads we tend only to congratulate ourselves, or offer dubious compliments (I really enjoyed the fight at so and so, thanks for all the free badges! ) instead of admitting our faults and failures. FA, YB, TC, none of us are WvW elites.
In EB, TC does very, very well at camp defense when certain folks are around, but at other times we will let a fully upgraded camp fall to 5 people
. We’ll throw ourselves at SM for 6 hours when we should have been wiping yaks and hitting camps and making opportunistic attacks at towers. We’ll sit inside SM and turtle instead of AoEing trebs, or we’ll allow 1 treb at Durios to knock down a wall without countering it >.>
Only by admitting and recognising our failings can we hope to improve on them. So my respect to you for being willing to admit that. ^^

Most of those are just typical of pub zergs which can be found on every server. When you see a group of Gods, Pro, or other major FA WvWvW guilds you’ll rarely if ever see major issues. But when you get a group of random pubs together they have an impressive ability to run around in large groups accomplishing nothing. The other week versus Yak’s I saw a large group of players take everything in the the northern area of EB except, and then fail at taking the keep because people were standing around autoattacking the gate instead of making supply runs. The other day I saw a group of about 15 auto attacking a tower gate (it was at around 90%) without any siege. I decided to see how long they’d keep at it. At 80% I got bored and dropped a flame ram, only for it to get half built because in this group of 15 only 2-3 people had supply.
But we’ll get plenty of practice. From the looks of things, we’ll be doing this again next week.

Dear FA,
I was aghast to note you have a bot problem. Fear not however, for I took care of it for you.
Good work.

Like most people I’m not exactly thrilled about the new dungeon and what it brings.
But I feel like it would be a lot better if the fractal relics were more useful as it is now they’re mostly just used for the bags from what I’ve seen. The exotic backs are pointless since the cost is so high that by the time you are able to get them you can probably get an ascended back or be close to one.
Fractal weapons would be a great addition. The idea of a weapon that’s only available through RNG is a bad one and one I’m surprised to see anet implement.
Also Vials that are needed for the ascended back pieces should be added. Right now I’m sitting on 50 ectos, 40 crystals, and 250 vicious claws but I can’t get my ascended back piece because I don’t have a vial.
Had a blast this evening in our borderlands.
The fight over the supply camp between the yaks’ and TC spawn was insane.
A large group of FA (mostly GODS) and the entire TC zerg were there.
Think we spent 10 minutes on that bridge fighting. Eventually I put a ballista up and we lured TC in range for me to just mow them down.
Yes every level up gives you a skill point.
It should be like PvP.
The gate in LA should take you to a lobby like area similar to heart of the mists.
Here you can repair, buy/sell at vendors, access your bank, and trade in your relics.
This area would be used for forming groups before moving onto the various fractals.
There. Now there’s less issues with overflows when trying to do fractals, since everyone there is there to do fractals. And it’s easier to use map chat with fewer people spamming with idiotic discussions of religion and politics.
I’m pretty sure I’ve caused the white swords to show up on a tower before by using a treb on a wall.
It’s not too hard to level in WvW.
The only issue is skills, you’re going to be significantly lacking skill points until you’ve been level 80 for a while.
It’s not too hard to level in WvW.
The only issue is skills, you’re going to be significantly lacking skill points until you’ve been level 80 for a while.
Just ban them from tournaments, I don’t think it would be too hard to implement.
A group of, I believe it’s 5 (might be 4) doing damage in any way (auto attacking, using siege) to any target (players, npcs, structures)
The only events that seem like they have an impact are the ones to unlock dungeons and to uncontest temples in Orr.
Everytime you feel like doing a free tournament it’s the same thing.
You get a pub player, you go into the match and… they just stand there afk.
So for the entire tournament match you’re forced to play a 4 v 5 or even a 3 v 5 because of these trolls.
They need a better system for finding groups for fotm, because as it is, it’s way too difficult to find a group.
First of all if you’re in Lion’s Arch overflow you’re pretty much kittened.
Then map chat is just “LFG LVL 1” “LFG LVL 5” “LFG LVL 2” and none of those people will find a group. After an hour yesterday I was unable to find more than 1 other person interested in doing level 2.
This idea of levels is decent but with it’s current implementation it’s just awful.
Move the entrance away from lion’s arch. Make it like PvP where you go to a lobby like area to form groups in, and then proceed to the main area.
That way you don’t have to worry about constantly being in overflow and you can find groups easier.
