Most of the rewards come/came from selling agony infusions and encryptions. At the moment both prices are getting lower. So definitely some sort of a reiteration is needed.

A mesmer can remove 3.3 boons per second with traited Null Field (+ CS), 3 traited Disenchanters and sword auto. Boon rip on shatter might help but you would have to give up something for it.

Unfortunately if we assume near 100% critical chance for the mesmer and Disenchanters, they would generate 2.5 boons per second (2.25 if Disenchanters have only 80% critical chance).

However there is a really easy way to not have any boons on the enemy. Don’t hit him at all.

The point is why should anyone pay 500g (or whatever the cost is) to fully ascend and get enough AR only to get worse rewards than skill 1 spammers in zergs.

Based on my test, Archdiviner has 5k armor on scale 94. Prepatch he had 2597. I still have to double check values though.

It’s impossible to even see the lich animations on a zerg map with all the particle effects going off, dodging isn’t going to cut it. And most maps end up full of undergeared uplevels that drop as soon as the skeletons spawn.

Bringing a truckload of healing (yay Druid), and constantly helping the downed up seems to be the way to manage in a Zerg.

I can dodge the big attacks fine on a zerg. The animations are really obvious, especially the summoning one.

His auto deals like 600-700 damage. All professions should be able to deal with that.

Edit: One attack every 1.75 seconds, equals 400 dps.

Whats the deal with this dude. I’ve been trying to kill this guy for a week. Light night there were about 10 of us and he still wiped the floor with our faces. How many people should be expected to actually take him down?

If you are on EU, I can solo the fight for you.

Also if you can get few decent players to melee him it should be pretty easy. Just try dodging some attacks. Boon removal or condition clear is not needed if you dodge, block or kill skeletons fast enough.

I fully support the predefined fractal maps because of the advantages it gives. Most importantly having map specific instabilities and fine tuning the difficulty. Unfortunately neither exists. But it’s a good start.

Based on my data, Archdiviner did 7682-8663 damage with his swing prepatch on scale 1 and 18644-21024 damage on scale 50. If he now does 4k on scale 59, something is seriously wrong. Also hopefully they remove that toughness scaling to balance direct and condition damage (haven’t tested how severe it is).

I think dailies should be predefined to encourage doing different scales. Daily reward should be bigger when you need to do harder fractals.

Also why dungeons weren’t recycled to fractal instances? Pick/combine some best fights for a decent encounter.

Bit related to this, I don’t like the new agony effect on enemies. It’s nice for learning purposes but out of place for higher levels.

If someone uses, say, leet speak, or some other form of speech or characters to bypass the filter, should the filter ignore their attempts, and just let them post inappropriate messages?

Until an affordable and cognizant computer program exists to determine intent, I’m afraid we will have to live with a filter that errs on the side of caution.

Luckily the forum has moderators who can remove your posts for circumventing the filter.

That would make sense as he enters it pretty much instantly. So is Plague even needed then?

This leaves two possibilities:

1) Damage doesn’t carry over to DS when US triggers.

2) Damage gets halved by DS when US triggers. He had 18k health, took 20k damage, 2k carried over to DS. He had gathered extra 2k DS during Plague with something.

Rest of what? The damage comes in two packets of 100% max health.

Based on this, I would assume that Plague with >90% health is enough to survive both hits. Plus some extra for agony.

Make sure your group also holds crystals when doing the trick by the ledge or the jade maw can wipe you with its revenge beam at 1% and reset the fight.

He enters Plague Form. Has about 40k max health. Gets hit by 40k damage. Loses only 18k health?

Plague Form has 55% damage reduction instead of 2788 extra toughness as stated on wiki?

The game doesn’t care which level requirement your gear has. It just adds up all attributes together and then downscales them based on your own level.

After a recent change, the attributes from gear get downscaled much harsher than before. Using level 20 gear is about same as not having gear at all.

In my opinion having to spend 5-10 hours is easy. That’s the time you spend on a little solo. But since it was the first boss, I assume it was meant to be easy.

Sure, it felt difficult when doing it but after a month or two it will get trivialized.

There will be new fractals, but the infrastructural changes had to be done first. I do agree that it sucks that we got Fractured and then a huge revamp again, but I think they actually have a good bead on what they’re doing now. I’m hopeful.

I will just respectfully disagree to avoid a 2 week ban. :P

I restored the sidebar. It can be enabled on settings. Alternatively you can hold ctrl while clicking enemies. You can also tweak what is shown and other stuff from settings.

Heyh, gw2dungeons.net is about to get a new (maintenance) release next week (16.10). Before that, I would like to try fix bugs and polish and for that I need your help.

The site can be found at http://gw2dungeons.net/test/. Please don’t link or share this so people don’t start using test sites (had already enough people complaning that dev/ doesn’t work).

Known issues:

  • Lack of polish. Interface is not finished. Any ideas welcome.
  • Enemy attack notes are missing. This system was converted to enemy tactics. I never had help or time to convert notes to tactics (link).
  • General guide page is outdated. This won’t be updated before the expansion.

How to help?

  • Report any bugs/issues you find.
  • Suggest any features, tweaks, improvements, etc.
  • Test damage numbers in level 80 content.
  • I added more ads in some cases. Does this feel intrusive?

Biggest changes:

  • Redesigned guide page: Images from the path shown on left. Clicking makes them bigger. Profession tips converted to profession tactics.
  • Redesigned search page: Data can be filtered by dungeon, enemy rank and other things.
  • Redesigned enemy page: Enemy attributes, images, etc. Enemies now appear on a pop-up. This can be reversed to previous behavior in settings.
  • Updated content. Guides updated/being updated by Zui. Atoi helped me to get enemy attributes.

Change log (of stuff I remember):


General:

  • Added cookie consent thing as requested by EU.
  • Improved responsive design. Page should scale better.
  • Responsive ads and thumbs. Scale down based on screen size.
  • Improved design. Ads and other elements relocated.
  • Added tab system for the overlay. Previous links/images/enemies are now stored (while on a single page).
  • Amount of stored tabs depends on settings.
  • Overlay scales down too big images.
  • Overlay background works even when overlay is taller than the screen.
  • Redesigned search page.
  • Enemies can be filtered by dungeon, rank and tags. Tags include stuff like attack types anf effects.
  • Added option to change how much enemy information appears on the search page.
  • Added option to change how many search results are shown.
  • Improved load times by merging some files and optimizing others.
  • Added a setting to change font sizes.
  • Added a X button to overlay which can be used to close the overlay.

Guides:

  • Added images to guides (thumbnails).
  • Thumbnails can be clicked to make them bigger (overlay).
  • Converted profession tips to tactics.
  • Some profession tactics updated.
  • Added some basic information about dungeon rewards (recipes, etc.).
  • Updated potion/sigil recommendation for all guides.
  • Added potion/sigil recommendation for people who want to be optimal.
  • Added bug tactic to explain harmful bugs.
  • All guides updated by Zui.
  • Updated average run times for dungeons.
  • Added guild ranking to guild record page.
  • Added player ranking to player record page.
  • Added table of contents to start of each guide.

Enemies:

  • Updated internal potion system to be more accurate.
  • Enemies now appear on the overlay. Can be changed back to sidebar from settings.
  • Holding ctrl will open enemies on sidebar (or overlay if sidebar is the default one).
  • Sidebar enemy names can be clicked to open them on overlay.
  • Overlay and sidebar have separated settings and be tweaked as liked.
  • Added enemy tactic system (similar to guides).
  • Bosses automatically get their tactic from guides.
  • Redesigned enemy attacks for improved clarity. Effects appear on separate lines.
  • Formalized enemy attacks to show damage per hit, total damage and duration.
  • Improved internal buff system to handle non-standard buffs.
  • Added settings to customize what is shown on enemy screens.
  • Converted all enemy data (~1000 enemies) to the new format.
  • Fixed lots of minor issues (like missing damage values) on all enemy data.
  • Merged about 100 enemies as they were shared between different dungeons.
  • Added some enemy images.
  • Added some enemy attack images/videos.
  • Added lots of new enemy data (with Atoi).
  • Added most enemy genders.
  • Added most enemy weapon strength values.
  • Added most enemy powers, health, armor, condition damage, healing power, critical chance and critical damage values.

No, it’s just a normal fight mechanic.

You automatically lose after a set amount of time. There is no functional difference between the mechanic I listed and a hard enrage timer.

There is no functional difference between parents and enrage timers.

Enrage would just be adding additional effects to the current mechanics. It shouldn’t be hard to program in things like faster activation times and additional effects on hit.

It still takes development time. They have to create new skills (copypaste), manage when they are active and test that everything works properly. For example boss shouldn’t use enrage skills too early and should revert back to original skills when he resets. Also then they have to balance those new skills so that they aren’t too powerful but also not negligible.

All in all, it adds up (ever wonder why dungeons don’t get updated?). In my opinion it’s waste of development time because they don’t really add anything to the encounter.

If the mechanics already exist on the fight then they aren’t enrage mechanics.

In Devil Survivor the bonus boss has an attack that hits everyone on the field and increases in damage every time it’s used. He uses it every turn so it’s definitely a normal fight mechanic, but the damage quickly becomes difficult to manage and eventually becomes powerful enough to instantly wipe you no matter what.

This attack is a normal fight mechanic, a soft enrage and a hard enrage all in one.

No, it’s just a normal fight mechanic.

I think a gradual enrage system is nice because it will give you a fighting chance, and make tanky gear bit more useful.

But I don’t think they should spend much time on it. The effort spent on the enrage mechanics could also be spent on the actual fight mechanics.
