You could have near any medium armor on an Asura and as far as anyone will see, they will look pretty much the same.

Exactly, I find engineers are one of the better farmers in the game.. I’ve started farming orr with great success but… I still want a farming buddy Any takers?

20 second static cooldown..not cool…not cool at all. Theres no way a -good- engineer who switches kits like crazy could ever keep track of and make use of kit refinement now.

You do in fact do enough damage, if you’re quick enough, to tag all the enemies in time with a FT. ESPECIALLY if you’re in a full party helping you tag everything I do eet erry day!

It’d be fun if there was a way to teleport you and a foe to a random location. I’d say, a random location on the map while keeping your target nearby but It would probably be a balancing nightmare. (Even if it only worked like this in the mists) It would just be a innovative and unique gameplay option for PvP. Perhaps a gadget like Portable Asura Gate, and the Tool Belt skill could be:

Rift Lag: Overcharge your portable Asura Gate Paralyzing you preventing you from taking any action for 2 seconds. Then gain Distortion and max Swiftness while removing all movement impairing effects for 2 seconds.

Ive always wanted a portable asura gate but, it would never happen us engi’s can dream i guess

Perhaps they could lighten the Random nature of other skills and create a specific Utility skill that plays completely with that mechanic. For example:

Volatile Elixir:Consume a volatile mixture granting you a unique unpredictable effect.
-Exchange all boons and conditions you have, with your target.
-Makes a clone of yourself for 6 seconds. when it is destroyed you become Dazed for 2 seconds.
-Gain Quickness, Swiftness and might for 3 seconds, after 3 seconds gain Chill, Cripple and Weakness for 3 seconds.

-Toss Volatile Elixir:Toss a Chaotic Elixir at a location, granting Swiftness or retaliation to allies, while Randomly Teleporting you, and those caught in the blast, to a random location.

If there could be a way we can teleport somehow, I’d be happy. I always wanted a portal/ teleport ability

If they change the duration of super elixir I’ll be pretty upset we already have such a hard time as it is, they just don’t like us I tell you

The delay from nades hurts you when there are too many people in an event.
They can melt the mobs so fast that you have to be part psychic to throw the grenades before the mob appears. Resorting to the rifle auto attack – tabbing – is usually the best.
Given this I would have to say they are not one of the better classes to farm. They are good in small to medium size events. Large events not so much.
The Guardian with the lawn-mower like staff auto attack is the best.

Wave of wrath is only a 600 range, and that is -Not- optimal for farming either.

Actually a 5 Engineer party sounds nice, I’m working on doing a full Engi run through several dungeons to prove the popular belief wrong that we’re no good. It’s a work in progress but isn’t everything? ^^;

I get compliments on how my engineer looks I guess I know all the secret awesome looks. I look like the flash right now.

Did you know that there are wells that can make you stealthed for the whole run? Check a video guide to locate them.

Theres only three that I know of, and the second one doesn’t last long enough through the dark room and arena. The most frustrating part of the entire puzzle is being in combat in that fugging arena, they made it too easy for people to have the unfair advantage of being up top and screwing you up in there.

Depends on when theyre telling you to put your pet away, if its to avoid aggro, then I totally understand.

I think it’s fine that theres pvp, however i would like to see the invisible timer increased once again so people can do the JP in peace without being camped. I think once you get the chest, you should automatically be ported out of the puzzle. That seems fair.

Guys everyone likes this idea mostly. But NO why? Everyone wants legendary not because of skin (it is only few guys that like it – some skins are nice, some are not). But everyone wants precursor and legendary, because it is about luck or heavy grind. But everyone can get it if you won’t. No offense but don’t be stupid and throw all your gold into forge. Save a bit and a bit more and then you get like 700g easily for your precursor and you can buy it. Or grind dragon chests and you might have chance for that or something.

But ideas like precursors are unfair and hard to get. They are nothing better than any other weapon and still everyone wants them. And i hurd that players will get bored, because they don’t get better tier of weapons every month (like it is in SWTOR – i stopped and there is like 60 or 70 rating gear WTF?! i remember 50). In GW2 it is only about skin and prestigue and still everyone wants it. Without this luck thingy – when everyone can get it (as you mentioned it is matter of week or less) then noone wants those weapons, because everyone could get it easily. So arena net, let it as it is. Maybe a better droprate would be nice, but who cares! I already spend 300g in mystic toilet (mystic forge) and opened nearly thousand of end game chests but i dont care – and if it were easily reachable i wouldn’t go for it.

Long story short: if you get precursor easily you won’t want it, because it loses prestigue!

That’s fine. It should be a hard task to obtain, but im sick of the gold farmers controlling the market driving a weapon way up more than it’s ACTUALLY worth. I can’t get 700g easily, i’ve been farming for a while after my first legendary, and im not even half way. im quite frustrated. and I don’t play the market. I just do kitten the natural way and play all day everyday. Still too much of a grind for my liking lol

I like this idea, it isnt that easy, 4 weapons from a dungeon cost a good amount of tokens, and then to do them for all the dungeons, trust me, i think it would take longer than you’d think. And completing everything else seems fine for me too. People say the JP would be too hard but right now as it stands, a casual player wont ever come close to getting a legendary because of the money grind it takes.

Everything about the Engineer in PVE needs to get buffed. PVE is a very large majority of the game, why are people so narrow minded (including devs) with spvp?

Best as in fastest? Or easiest? Farming isn’t usually a competition. Engineers can farm at the same speed as any other profession, though, and faster than some. Grenades are good but the delay will sometimes leave you without any tags, plus it requires aiming/paying attention. Autoattacking with pistol is probably the best way since you don’t have to be looking at your computer screen and the mobs won’t die before the pistol shot reaches them.

Well, Farming is a speed competition lol, but i manage with grandes + FT. i wouldnt do pistol, not enough aoe on short cd for my liking

(Back on topic) Yeah a simple silver shield somehow looks engineerish too, especially if it has a gear drawn. That reminds me I use an iron legion shield once in a while I think it looks engineerish too

It’s funny because my main was born with that mindset, first out of fun talks with friends, then after hitting 80 and getting geared correctly… Well I ended up liking it.
A Charr, too small to be of any use in the legions, cast aside, studied engineering, conceived machines, guns, created elixirs, became spiteful, aggressive, intimidating.

Not ‘VERY’ but just a little, if you play with the colors a bit…
The whisper’s gear has some possibilities. But it’s not a real steampunk set of course. It’s the closest I can achieve though.

Don’t use fast cast. Greetings from a 1000+ hours engineer player.

The amount of hours you’ve played doesn’t dictate whether or not it’s better to use Fast Cast. I’ll be honest, I don’t use Fast cast for grenades. But i will admit it makes playing MUCH easier for some people. It’s all dependent on play style and the individual I guess.

I’ve played over 1600 hours on my engi. Doesn’t mean I’m any good though lulz

All around stats because I change up my build / skills / traits so often, its just something I can keep on no matter what. You get more benefit i think from the extra stats than you would from just a little bit extra of a particular stat

@Jorgam, Yeah, Im not even a FT spec, but i do have my condition removal and perma swiftness and it works very well farming. I just meant farming the events in orr, not just running around killing monsters

I’ve started to farm Cursed Shore now and holy kitten Grenades + FT are great farming tools. Grenades when theyre too far, and FT when you’re up close to tag them all at once. I only just discovered Orr farming so >.> gimme a break…

I hate farming alone with strangers though, anyone want a farming buddy?

I figured FT for tagging monsters for events in orr seeing as theres usually a ton of people there and damage isnt my main concern i guess, just more-so tagging.

Some say you can only hit X amount of targets with it but..I’ve been able to tag countless mobs with it. whats going on there?

Looking at all the classes, would you say Engineer is -one- of the better farming classes? Seeing as they have the constant aoe’s as well as flamethrower which allows me to tag a crazy amount of mobs.
