1 second is too short.
Imagine switching atunements, it fires at that exact moment, taking about 1/4 of a sec to show your new bar, then say you’re hotkeyed and take another 1/4 of a sec to find and press the key.
So now only 1/2 a sec would apply to the skill in a best case scenario.
If you’re a clicker then it may as well not exist.
Quickness isn’t a boon either so no duration effects it.
So in reality it would need to be 1.5-2 seconds to be usable.
u only need to start the cast, so quickness is for only one skill(awesoem for fire2 on scepter or earth 5 on dagger) the rest of cast will be 50% shortened, doesnt mather if quickness runs out or not
buuut these elites r just unimaginable
mesmer ones is just weird,
why would a warrior get that elite
ranger alrdy has that as grandmaster trait

Real question: Why would you need quickness on a fresh air build upon switching to air if all air burst is instant? LOL.
cause fire still deals more dmg then those lightnings , in pvp u hit 8-9 k dragon tooth on glassy ppl, firegrab 9 k for sure on burning glassy ppl
lighnting hits twice 2-4 k ish(attunement swap and air 2)

Mesmer new elite shout be the warriors one. I mean, warriors already can do more confusion damage than mesmers. it was really necessary to improve that ? what a joke ! this elite should be for mermers as an elite mantra or something like that.
the other professsion have great elites, elem almost quickness all the time, ranger just overpowered, necromencer elite will definetly kills anyone who have any boons.
let me guess, the mesmer elite will have a 240 sec CD ?
It would be better to give mesmers the opportunity to pop 3 phantasms instantly with an elite skill. that Would be an elite.
dude that was my first idea when i read about new elites lmao
example : if u got gs equipped u summon 3 berserkers wich atk at same time(enemy can easily evade all of em w 1 dodge, if fail they can get 1 hitted)

sword offhand those sword phantasm
on focus enemy is between 3 wardens (hope they dont mess up w wardens if they implement this)
staff : 3 of those phantasm that deal more dmg if enemy got more condis
torch, 3 mages

Attunement Swap Cooldown removed. All swap effects are given a 8 second cooldown.
You want us to be able to “adapt to any situation”? Then let us use our skills when we need them.
that would make the arcan traitline useless, i mean the basic points thingy( dam cant explain)
but, u know when u swap to an attunement every attunement gets a 2 second cd, remove that so we can swap faster, for example, auras r instant cast- if u only want the aura from one attunement u just swap to it , use aura, swap righ after to another attunement without waiting 2 seconds

so, few days ago i met some mesmer who was doing insane undrwater burst dmg
(sry not sure if he used shatter or not, it went so fast, i am sure he used the spear 5 skill)
he bursted some ppl in lik 2-3 sec after he had his spear 5 up
and that catched up my interest, does anyone have a video/can explain how ..?
and i am sure it wasnt just using diversion -> 25 vulnerability then mindwrack,

isnt the current problem with mesmers in general that no matter how we trait we dont really do that thing very well compared to others? Its not all that fair to say a build is “unfocused” when one of the characteristics of the class currently is being unfocused
actually i wonder about why ppl say this, some classes can do everything we can do better , buuuuuuuuuuuut~ u guys even thought about that ?: they might be doing better ,but we r like 2-3 proffession combine and do everything 3 classes do as a single classes, just slightly lower then the other classes do but we can do em all.
i always wondered why u ppl be like: mesmer is useless, everything we do is crap compared to other classes.

Not commenting on the build but rather a mecanic it use. I find the blocks be good but with 1 extremly annoying fact. Why do it exist a smal delay between the block and the counter hit?
A realy fast attacking enemy who hitting you when you have low health = you dont have time to “wait” for the conuter hit to hit as he will hit you again before it landing. This mean you need to use another defensive ability or dodge as soon “block” come up = you neevr land the counter hit.
Example = you have 5k hp, thief spamm attack, you use “block” you block, you wait for block to land = dead
Alt, you “block” you dodge = you never land counter hit but survive.
I would like counter to hit instantly, this would mean you can use next block ability for next attack or avoid the next attack without waste your hard hitting skill.

huh i know about portal gun, but how is the rifle called? o.o
experimental rifle, u gotta do an eventchain in malchors leap , u gotta destroy chickken kits or whateveer then a champ then there is a merchant who sells those rifles
since no1 is doing malchor leap events it mostly starts w kill the chickens there, then 4 risen chickens, then chicken kits, then champ ( u got 6 min time for chicken kits and if it fails u gotta kill some chcickens then 4 veteran chickens after and retry the chicken kits)
the champ is pretty easy, as mesmer u can afk kill it, spawn 3 wardens, hide in em, go afk, boss reflects gonna kill him:p (if u skilled focus reflect in insipiration traitline that is)
ppl most likely always managed to get mesmers easily before pu (burst em once and down) and now they complain about mesmer loosing some of their dmg to trade for defence. (they cant kill pu mesmers in 1 burst anymore but neither will the good players loose to pu builds-draw)
in short , they r just used to mesmers beeing easy to kill once u got em pinned down
thats the rifle, this is gun , for gun u dont need to :p
rifle is better tho
it also helps in puzzles:p (obsidian sanctum – example)
gonna correct myself, cant seem to use it in obsidian , but all other puzzles should be fine

to all mesmers without jumping skills, u can now easily jump to unreachable places like warriors guards etc with a ‘experimental teleportation gun’

well on heavy armoured classes its low, but on thiefs i frequently get 5k(wvw full zerker btw), on others it varies between 3-4.5 k crits
also u ever seen the sword 4 block? i once critted 4,3 k w it on another mesmer

in spvp i wouldnt take signet tho, in spvp 90% of my matches ppl just do random stuff while i solo cap… (they dont deserve my boons!)

And what was the build you’ve been using for PvP? I know its a variant of PU of some sort but a bit different, no? Should post it.Also, this is less about giving precise criticism and more about trying different builds and seeing how you feel about them. Your evaluation would be about if it suited your playstyle, what you liked/disliked, anything you changed and how long you used it ect.. Don’t have to be an expert, just gotta post your opinion.
@Wyrden: That lockdown build looks like it could be solid, but it’s got two major flaws: No condition removal, and no way to rip boons.. which is kind of key for a lockdown Mesmer.
@trooper: Was hoping for the results to be posted in this thread, that way anyone reading can also learn from it. I haven’t tried your build yet but it definitely looks solid, the lack of ability to boonstrip worries me though… Warriors/Guardians and some Engineers would have a fieldday.
u forgetting sword 1 clone for boonstrip:p, once enemy immobalized ,sword clones or u can do it on ur own as well, 1 boon for each clone (or u) in 2-3 sec :p
This is true, and kind of slipped my mind, but that’s difficult in a group fight and not entirely reliable. Staying in melee range for that long almost guarantees you’re gonna be taking some damage and risk getting targetted/focused.
