You may have heard , that they intend to buff more of the phantasm summoning skills (e.g. pistol 4, torch 5, staff3), keep in mind, those additional effects of those skills are also revealing you if you are in stealth, since they deal direct damage to the opponents. Havent heard people talking about that before.
It’s not gonna be a huge pain in the kitten , but still mildly annoying in some rare times.

I want to get better at the mesmer vs mesmer matchup (both meta build). But i don’t know people who play mesmer at the lvl i am. So i can’t practice 1v1ing them. What are general stuff to watch out for in a mesmer vs mesmer(pure 1v1, no help from either team). I am almost legendary on EU, but i have lost almost every mesmer 1v1 at that lvl. I climbed that high by just avoiding to fight them, unless we outnumbered. Obviously the ones at the lower lvls i kept beating cause they were just bad and spamming shatters randomly.
tldr: Am bad at mesmer vs mesmer, no one to practice with. Need some tips

That’s not a fix. You can’t really be too lazy to actually cast the skill a second time come on…
The way it is right now is perfect.
Unless you mean the block effects. The block effects of both of them are too strong to just be able to apply them on targets without much counterplay.

The skills are fine as they are.

Nice, thank you. How did you find running core mesmer in WvW nowadays?

It’s fun, but definitely more difficult to play. Don’t try fighting scrappers, Dragonhunters are a pain to deal with but possible if played perfectly. Thieves either oneshot you , or you oneshot them :p Invocation revs aren’t that difficult but retribution revs are most likely gonna easily wipe you. Druids are a pain to deal with if you dont land your oneshot, and you can’t really escape them easily.

If you have the expansion , you really shouldn’t play the core mesmer unless you want those juicy awesome oneshots. Chronomancer is just better in every way in my opinion~

Yeah I know, I have the expansion but I just don’t like the way the elite specs are flat out better. I had a similar assessment to you but given most Gankdara druids I run into now are PVT I can’t even one shot them and between the pet and the druid I just flat out skip them now.

I bet you run in terror from condi builds in that too XD

Most condi builds are not too bad to deal with, just like before HoT. Dodge important skills, and you got 2 condi cleanse on torch skills. I still mostly run from condi mesmers, but everything else is pretty fine to deal with! Necromancers, who are mostly condi , you can mostly just kite and burst down!

After a long time of roaming i finally made another montage! This time without chronomancer. It’s pretty fun to play if you dont fight dragonhunters or Scrappers~ Although i wouldn’t recommend it as a serious roaming build.

I recently got into WvW with revenant and have been enjoying it so far! You guys may question my sword offhand, it’s just my personal preference over shield in WvW.

Interrupt condie is absolutely more interesting than standard condie. That’s the only hard evaluation of “better” that I’m willing to make.

Interrupt condie has the potential to be devastating in certain circumstances. Proccing many interrupts with aoe cc in a fight results in absurd confusion stacks for a potentially easy win. However, you also might burn a lot of cc and get nothing out of it due to stab or aegis or just people not spamming skills.

Standard condie does not have that same upper limit on insane burst damage. However, its mechanics are far more reliable. You get more flexibility in traiting which usually results in better defense. Your offense is simply linked to landing shatters without the need for interrupts. This means you’re not at the mercy of anti-cc defense from other players.

Ultimately, I play interrupt condie when I play condie because it’s more interesting. However, various enemy team comps can make the build extraordinarily ineffective. Standard condie shatter does not suffer from this problem.

Slightly interested, could i get a full build please?

With Sigil of Draining and a lucky crit from Power Block you can actually get interrupt damage comparable to Pulmonary Impact headshot spam

The way of the Mesmer:
Do 10x as many things to get 75%-100% the impact of what others do by hammering a button on their keyboard.

Are you talking about sigil of blood/leeching? I am using blood on my gs, i don’t really like leeching on neither gs nor my sword in case you mean those.

No ICD. 1K heal, 1.1K damage. Finding it to be rather superb – especially with shield, 5 target Diversion and Gravity Well. Some nice 5K heals at time

It does sound amazing, i think i am gonna try this instead of hydromancy sigil. But i am not expecting too much, almost everyone runs stability in WvW nowadays. Thanks for showing me that! Don’t expect an answer soon , I just unlocked tier 4 of the pvp achievements, gonna grind them the whole week. Thank arenanet for the time gated stuff .

I am copying this from the comments , someone asked the same about thieves. I don’t exactly know your build so it may / may not help much.

Thieves are a pretty strong counter to power mesmers. But the thief needs to actually play good, if they are a bad / mediocore thief they will most likely just die easily. It’s almost impossible to beat a GOOD thief on power mesmer.
General tips i can give :
-When they are in stealth count to 2 then use sword2 /shield 4
-You generally want to stay on sword/shield most of the time against them.
-Switch to Gs if you know they won’t be able to burst you (If you have f3 / f4 up for some defense)
-Manage your cooldowns + endurance (dont use your active defenses only, use a dodge inbetween so that you regen that while you are using sword 2 / shield 4 , it’s important to manage those against thieves!)
-Dont use blocks if they got basilisk venom , the stun is unblockable and will interrupt your block

Dragonhunters are annoying to fight against cause of their high uptime of ‘perma block’.
Anyway :
-dont shadowstep out of their trap , you will steal eat damage if you do, you can dodge through or shadowstep while dodging to avoid that.
-I generally try to keep a distance between us and make sure to dodge their f1(the spear)
-Save your f3(daze) for their f2(wing of resolve)
-If they use longbow you can try reflecting their longbow 2 with your f4, but good ones usually don’t use longbow.
-Use your sword 2 almost always purely defensive/to rip their focus 5 blocks

I didn’t really get to fight many dragonhunters outside of pvp, and in pvp i am not really using mesmer often , that’s all i got to say i guess

The attacks i evaded werent like 2 at once , more like .. There was more of a gap inbetween making me think it wasnt backstab + steal.

Yeah they really dropped easily, making me think i could just dance around them the whole time, was really arrogant of me though.

About the 2 thieves.. i saw 2 evades and i actually thought both of them actually tried to backstab me or something. thought i already made their basilisk venom ‘useless/gone’. Didn’t expect one to range me.

Yeah it didn’t cross my mind that I could have gone back into the water, will keep that one in mind. Mesmers are better uw than most proffessions after all.

One criticism I will make is that we see a lot of footage where it cuts after you kill 1-2 guys but there’s a few still left. It makes us wonder whether you won or lost those fights, whether you got the kills or were left stomped.

It’s some pretty impressive bursts you’re doing and you do a good job kiting and surviving, still could do with seeing what the ultimate outcome was.

To put it in another way, those wanting to try the build get to see it in action but don’t get to see how effective it is as getting 1-2 stomps but getting killed yourself and not flipping a camp is a considerable point swing.

I will keep that in mind! Half of the time i cut it cause it’s just people either running away at the end, me running away, or me just dieing~

To add to that.. well this is actually not really important, would just make the UI more fancy. As you know some proffessions like Revenant or Necromancer (in Reapershroud) got really fancy effects on their UI .
Could we maybe get like purple flames or of that kind while we are in our F5?
As i said, it’s not really important, would just make it really fancy though~

If u wonder: Guardian with trapper runes, Elementalist underwater(can’t really count that tbh)

Only classes not able to stealth are necros, revenants and warriors.

And how would you even give cd to mesmer in stealth? like, we got cd on everything besides autos alrdy.

Whatever happened to it to make it feel this clunky, in the bwe1 it was totally fine and didnt slow you down, so the bug came from making it charge to the target
