Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.
>Class Balance is a Joke<
xtd, seems like your saying… the servers in t1 dont have to worry about losing, actually thats exactly what you said “dont have to worry about losing ranking”. this sounds like the match ups are fixed. you post intelligent reasons but I think you revealed too much.
there have been rumors about guilds switching to the server that is dropping score so they dont lose their rank and thus maintain their position in the top 3.
really if the top three just hold their territory, let the ppt tick up roughly equal theres no way they can be bumped out. there is no server above to drop down and disrupt the balance, so 2/3 of the t2 servers would have to sacrifice their ppt completely for several weeks to give the chosen server a chance on rolling up.
I remember another thread with similar topic and there was said by a poster they didnt want a certain t2 server to move up. there was talk about respecting their friends on the dropping server and helping them. any of the reasons are understandable but it still shows the hierarchy is firmly in control of t1 and not willing to let go.
The rankings and ratings do change but it doesnt go to far because of Push Weeks that keeps our ratings close, not match fixing. To assume our matches are fixed is an insult to all the players and commanders who put in tons of hours to win. Push weeks are not guaranteed wins by the way, we work for them, the servers dont just go away for the week. The enemy zergs are there, the fights are there. For some folks to assume everything is being “fixed” and just cycled by servers is absurd.
And so what someone posted about not wanting to see another server in their tier, that means what? Ive made those posts myself, its a forum, people can post whatever they want.
Personally I like not having to worry about a ppt grind every week, being able to have fun, and not worry about your server being on a tier roller coaster every week. Ive been through that, dont need it again. It helps keep people from getting burned out and thats a good thing.
So to enjoy the game, you only play when it is the designated week for you to play is what it sounds like…. That is lulz…..
If you assume only one server shows up every third week when its a designated “win week” then your making a pretty clueless statement. If people didnt enjoy it here, they would leave.

copycat….
. T1 NA is not locked, its just organized in a way where servers in it dont have to deal with a constant ppt grind every week and dont have to worry about losing ranking, rating, dropping and going through a server instability.
The non-push weeks are why t2 has grown so much.
Plenty of tiers where people don’t care much, t1 shouldn’t be one.
BG’s show up when it matters attitude makes for a lot of crappy matches
T2 grew so much because of 2 bandwagon servers in yb and db, also Magummas drop from t2/3 because of their unbalanced approach to scores..fights over ppt, same with SoR over the last year. T1 is not a tier where people dont care, I dont know why you assume that.

There should be a fee of 100g attached to the creation of any thread about “zerk meta” and all its variations.
To be fair not everyone stays on top of every forum post about every topic, and this is a forum, people can talk about anything game related. Its normal for many people to have the same ideas, suggestions, frustrations etc.
One thing that might help is to use a specific color commander tag and announce on map that your doing a guild run.
Most servers, since the introduction of the different tag colors have designated different roles for colors, say one for zerg, one for scouting etc. So maybe try it out see how it goes.
Also if your splitting into different parties, one thing you can do is have the leaders of each party get a target put on them by the rest of their party, it will put a bullseye on them that will make it easier for their party to see an icon above their heads.
I do agree that guilds could use such an icon, though it might have a negative effect on wvw. Anyways hope that helps.
well queues are not the most accurate way of measuring population. During pushweeks, on reset nights we can get every map queued for hours. EB queues can go on all day even, primetime has 2 or 3 queues with varying times. I dont know about tc and jq, but from what I hear, TC has high queues pretty often. During weeknights it always varies, generally queues are more often caused by map hopping groups, rather then just a constant high amount of players on each map.
I thought T1 queues are just a myth based on their recruitment threads
Heh queues can happen on any server, heck a t8 server can have a queue, seen it myself. It varies at times thats where it causes some confusion. Its not like it was say a year or 2 ago but queues do happen but when and how long varies. And I dont say this to scare people away from t1, I just try to be objective. Believe me Id love to see more people here on bg personally its always nice to have more people to play with. When I see small guilds/groups doing the great job they do here along with the larger ones, its just really nice to be a part of it.

well, since its still bugged, and we got an anet staffer to reply here…might as well mention this…Inventory window still bugged resets size when you login.
just thought Id throw that out there to remind you
a lot of times this can be avoided by people running with friends or in a guild group, much more forgiving. Pug groups generally are about speed, and will utilize whatever is considered the most efficient setup, thats how they want to run its their choice, if its not your thing dont do it.
I dont understand why zerker is the problem its just one of many available stats. If you or someone want to run a party full of clerics or condi builds nothing stopping you. Whats wrong with people running whatever they want, how would you feel if people were telling you what to run, and that what your running is wrong, chances are you have heard that so why go ahead and do the same exact thing to others? Let people run whatever the heck they want, dont like it, dont party up with them, dont run with them simple as that. People will always find the fastest way to do something. Get over it.
I will say that condition builds do need a long overdue buff for pve.
you cant go by server population when trying to matchup servers in wvw, that only works if everyone actually does wvw on the server then those numbers are actually valid.
But thats never the case, one server can have tons and tons of players on it, every NA server is classified as having a Very High population, but thats hardly the case in wvw when you look at each one.
Karma is useless and it’s fun kill upscaled who wanna level up, so bag-train > Karma-train.
karma helps a lot of players save on gold when getting exotic armor, so its not totally useless, also used for obsidian shards when working on a legendary.
Better idea would be if you couldn’t blast might at all.
no…thats just…no…blasting fire fields for aoe might is a valid strategy that encourages people to use and understand combo fields and combo finishers, why eliminate that
what setting do you have Render Sampling set to? I would also advise you set your Character model limit to lowest if you have not done so already. It helps a lot.
like always, people will quickly come up with a new meta build, or not necessarily new tweaked in some ways, ele is to important in wvw for players to let it go to waste. Let the update come, and everyone will adjust like always.
I feel bad for you guys in t3, I was in that situation for months, I know how bad it sucks. Do yourself a favor and find a new home. At the very least if your servers drop, you know what its not the worst thing, it can stabilize when it falls to a more comfortable tier. Good luck.
usually people go in there with low level toons to get exp for leveling, and to farm karma and champ bags. One of the reasons I hate it, is because few people there want any challenge or anything different, they merely treat it as nothing more then an extension of a pve map to farm and level on. Its one reason why most wvwers despise eotm. I dont care personally what people want to do in terms of farming, leveling. Its their lazy, entitled attitudes that annoy people the most.
for pve, power is best for any profession, aside from a few situations like copper boss in silverwastes for example. Condition damage is weak and you need to spam several of them to degen enemies. Whereas power/zerker based builds, you can auto attack targets to death in less time then a condi build would take. For WvW zerker necro is great because of its very high damage, but condition builds are good for wvw/pvp as well.
I always enjoy your recruiting posts, wishing you guys the best of luck in growing stronger and hope your always having fun
there was a CDI done on guild halls, so hopefully it will happen someday
happy to help, have fun

You might be interested in a PvX guild, some that come to mind are DEAD, RLR, COSA shamrock, there are many others. DEAD usually advertises a lot in la, they might be a good fit for you.
lol at the spider tonics, theres some TC folks who like to use tonics in wvw. Once killed a guy in a dredge tonic lol
are you doing pve? I find focus is nice
I mainly do wvw with mine, so I run a/d and staff\
The short daze on the wh is not all that useful in pve, especially with bosses, and the swiftness can be mitigated because the #5 skill causes an aoe attack around you, so if your running and happen to hit something, that swiftness pretty much gets wasted.
Focus is nice, it gives some regen, boon removal, chills, vulnerability, and reapers touch can do excellent damage, especially if your using it on one target. Plus its also 900 range. The cast times are a little slow though.
It seems fixed for me, out of pvp, its not resetting to default each time, has anyone tried for pvp recently?
while the ratings gap is large, its not by any means set in stone, that each t1 server will stay a t1 server forever, thats why its not locked. Server instability is an all too often occurence, it breaks up servers, guilds, communities, and really you cant blame some for wanting to avoid it. Ive been through it, I know many others who have, its nice just to be able to have fun and not have to worry about scores and ppt grind, and ratings, rankings etc every week.
While personally I do think stealth is a completely bs gimmick mechanic with no place in any games competitive aspect. There are counters to it, and ways to avoid the thieves. The same behavior that you described can be true of really any profession, stealth makes it easier yes, but this behavior is not limited to thieves.
Am I the only one around here…
Who doesn’t care about new races or classes as long as we have new areas, lore and dungeons?
I mean, seriuosly, a race will bring new esthetics, new cultural armor and new race elite skills (also new armor clipping and complaints)… It’s very hard that a new class gets me away from the 2 classes I love playing in PVE (Guardian and Warrior) and most of the ideas on the matter are weird or just dumb (no offense intended) so, why don’t we just get a second off the hype train and focus in what is really important for the game: Areas, dungeons, depth, new LS, new events, fixing bugs, maybe changes to WvW and SPvP.
You dont find that a tad hypocritical? The same reason you want more new content, is essentially the same reason some want new class/race. Because people find it fun to explore and try different things. Just because you dont find it appealing doesnt mean nobody else does.
It’s my understanding that the NA T1 servers are “rigging the game” so to speak so that the ppl and guilds in T1 can play for fights or whatever. But couldn’t this same system work if those same guilds went to the bottom tier and kept themselves there? And wouldn’t that also free up the ppl who love PPT (not me) to move into T1?
No, because the only way this works is when your at the top, t1 is not just about fights. PPT is important, we defend and cap what/when we can. The point is not to grind it every week because it burns people out and causes to much server instability.
Despite what many might think, T1 is not about open field fights with zergs. Most of the fights are done around capping/defending objectives. If you love to roam, havok, there is plenty to do, and you will find plenty of fights where you dont run into blobs, at least in my experience. If you like to zerg, there is plenty of fighting/ppt focus for that too. But its not centered on open field fights. Those are actually less common then fighting when capping/defending.

Id like to see axe reworked and buffed to be a little more in line with other professions ranged weapons. The auto attack is slow and single target, the 2nd attack can do good damage but has long cast and single target. And its only 600 range on axe. Enfeebling blood could also benefit from a faster cast time.
The idea of a forum is lost on some people it seems, why not ask the OP if you want to know.
copycat….. T1 NA is not locked, its just organized in a way where servers in it dont have to deal with a constant ppt grind every week and dont have to worry about losing ranking, rating, dropping and going through a server instability.
OP is referring to the behavior, not how to get around it
So because OP and his friends won’t leave spawn, it’s everyone elses fault that the enemy roamers are there looking for a fight?
If you read the OP, he says he knows there are other exits etc, he is asking peoples thoughts about the behavior, not how to get around it. If you looked at the pic, thats hardly a roaming group lol.
heh that icon always looked so wierd to me lol
never seen that before, have you tried relogging and trying to look at another catapult? sometimes relogging helps fix these little glitches.
It costs 1800 gems to transfer to a server with a very high population, which every NA server is. You can buy gems with in game gold or real money through the gem store.
Also you can delete any characters you have and it will allow you a free transfer to any server. This is a better option for new players. If you do this, remember to deposit anything you have into your account bank.
As someone who mains a Necro for wvw, I can say its an excellent class for zerging, roaming, and havok. Yes there are some downsides, like with any class, mainly less escapes then most classes, and thieves can be tough because of stealth spamming, but this is why you have to play a little smarter and setup properly. There is excellent sustainability and very high damage. Ive been on a tank war and have been melted by condi necros, and I can melt wars/guards on my zerker necro.
Also most every guild I see recruiting for wvw is in need of necros, so I wouldnt say they are underrated.
OP is referring to the behavior, not how to get around it
I honestly would rather see more content involving races like tengu, kodan etc. Would really love to see inside the Dominion of Winds. I dont mind tengu not being a playable race because the novelty will wear off quickly, Id rather see them more involved with the story and lore.
carrion, dire, rampagers, sinisters are probably your best bet if your going for a condi build. If you have any karma/badges of honor at all you can save some gold on armor. The temple of balthazar karma merchant sells rampagers armor for 42k karma per piece. You can farm both in EoTM if you ever want to try that out.
I run full zerk necro because I never liked condi builds all that much, but hope that helps.
A build template system has been asked for by many players for a long time, even with the reworked trait system where we can adjust anytime. It would be a nice addition where we could just save/load builds because it was very convenient in gw1 and I personally would like to see it implemented here, not to diminish the importance of being able to adjust on the fly which has been a tremendous improvement over the original system when we had to visit a trainer and pay to reset.
Black Lion blank pages after update on this page.
this is actually a littledifferent, as it only affects transactions page, and has been going on longer, and happens randomly
hmm maybe some realistic solutions…
-better placement of waypoints to reduce running times
-removing wp fees, because I dont know why for the life of me some players would rather keep 1-2 silver and fail an event….
-take an idea from wvw and implement a forced wp timer countdown to get rid of dead players in events.
Not sure if this has already been reported, at random times the transactions page on the TP will show that nothing is listed when I have transactions pending. I have to close and reopen the tp window usually 3-5 times to make it show transactions. This has been going on for quite a while, anyone else having this issue?
I get the message: “Sorry, no items match this filter”
(edited by X T D.6458)
this has been bugged for months :/, if your toon changes levels due to up/down scaling in a map, you lose the 3rd charge.
OP has a point, there should be a rework of how rallying works in wvw. But of course there are other reasons why certain guilds prefer running alone/tagless. Uplevels sometimes are not in comms, do not have access to good gear/traits, and some are not knowledgable about wvw. EoTM has been a double edged sword regarding this issue, while it has given uplevels a place to gain exp in wvw, it has also drained players from wvw. While some guilds do not want uplevels in their groups, more numbers are always welcome with militia.
Perhaps a cd, or reducing the number of players that can rally on a player might help with the issue. But have to remember it works both ways.
Also in regards to elitism, it can be annoying sometimes but have to remember its a competitive gamemode and some people tend to act this way, not all, some. If they choose to play a certain way, thats their choice and nobody can force them to do otherwise. But everyone has a choice not to run with them if they do not like the percieved elitist attitude.
(edited by X T D.6458)
it allows you to send messages to people offline, so they can read it when they login, also its used for ingame mail. It can be convenient for sending items, for example a commander in wvw running out of siege, or a dungeon group needing consumables etc. Like anything there is always potential for abuse. The good thing is at least, its all choice.
My advice is make and flip the incinerator and start over working on a bifrost, at the very least it gives you something new to work on, and you can make a nice profit off the incinerator. At least you wont have to map everything again, you get 2 gifts of exploration per world completions, so that part would already be done.
But again, do your best to avoid player to player trading, many people get burned and that anger, frustration, and wasted time because some scumbag wanted to scam you is not worth it.
no they do not endorse nor get involved in player trading, thats what the trading post is for. You assume all risks if you attempt anything like that. Dont act out of desperation, to many people get burned and scammed. Technically you can trade with someone through mail, but its highly discouraged to do this, because there is no guarantee you will recieve anything back, and anet will not replace your item, even if your scammed, and that person is banned/suspended for scamming, your item will not be replaced.
You would be surprised at how low people will sink over virtual items…dont put yourself in that situation.
