10/10 best update so far! Can do fractals again good story (and getting people new to fractals involved) and t3 is available to even my norn now. The less human-centric this game, the better.

It seems to me only those that post here hate scarlet as everyone I talk to in TC likes what Anet is doing, even a few GW 1 vets. I like scarlet over but she does need an end. So you are all in fact the minority in this game, or these threads will have new faces as I’m seeing the same exact people complaining.

Human-centric only lore was GW 1 and kinda boring (and I liked GW 1 lore). But I wanted to know about everyone else way back in GW 1. All the sentient enemies seemed mindless when now we know they are not (charr/hylek/djinn/etc). Also the dragons are even more boring than Scarlet. If I were to act like the negative side of the forums right now, I’d make threads against any more dragons.

People to me that hate scarlet sound like they hate all lore that isn’t about humans or the gods or anything from GW 1 that frankly (besides Cantha) is all about humans. If I want to know more about humans, I can just read a book on world history or look at human anatomy books. If you “the majority” hate the game and Scarlet so much, just leave now! We don’t need your negativity in the game or Lions Arch especially on
Tarnished Coast.

GW 1 lore was great, but its done. Get over it. If you missed the GW 1 lore, play the old game or read wiki for a few hours.

I have other reasons to hate the game and Scarlet is not one of them.

While they are at it let us get back the nude bug as a feature. Purely naked and also with more realism thrown in!

I didn’t like it nor hate it. It made me laugh actually. It was cute, lighthearted, and funny and showed the game for what it is, “Make your own fun!” If you can’t do that, you do not belong here.

I have tried, but the writing style makes it difficult to understand…for me. I’m not sure what you are saying. But, I’m not all that conversant with stat schemes in different games. =)

Yeah I write/type very complexly. Glad you’re honest. I write/type on a scholarly level of complexity with big words and well thought out language.

To put what i said in teh two or three posts plainly.

• GW 2 uses a level gated system that is not very steep seeing how easy it is to get to 1-80 in a few days to up to 2 weeks max with average 4-6 hours of play a day DOING THINGS not sitting in LA goofing off, mind you.

• Gear in gw 2 is level hard capped whereas in games I played, its capped and based on your stats and only the way you build your character limits what you can wear. Armor was still hard capped to levels but in PSO 2 and others (like most jprgs and korean mmos), everything is to your stats. It not a bad thing mind you, it could be good for gw2 if it was done this way and done right.

• In GW2 you gain stats like other mmos gradually based on your level. Like other common level-based mmos, yet its very rigid.

• Talking about gear again, gear in some other games while being based on stats only has variable requirements (attack or defense or some other stat) even within their own rarities, the rarity is not so much of a tier but a guideline as to where it is placed in its gradual power climb. Better gear = higher rarity but not rigid like GW 2/WoW/etc.

• The draw back of the system I was talking about is that skinning may not be allowed or non-existent… as you will have added effects and things that are unique to each and every weapon. An 8 tiered system like in GW 2, allows the transmutation system to exist. Why can’t the best of both worlds be combined? Beats me!

Already fixed as of second bug fix patch today! Go on your way people.

So long as our gear Lv80 Exotic gear/weapons gets insta LvXX, I could care less (of course, you can’t wear them because your char is Lv80 and the new item requires the character to be LvXX).

But then again, if Anet released a new level cap instantly making our current gear obsolete, I guess I can quit or try if the game is still worth playing.

I’m sure Anet is prepared for this despite the really bad structure I seen form the get go (never restrict gear to one variable ever!) on this. It will probably be based on dungeons and new tokens/other reward systems currently in place with blue gear being so slightly better at 90 (for arguments sake) that 80 gear even in exotic/ascended will do just fine (blue 75 is only slightly better than rare 70) until you get to the point where you could need it. GW 2 doesn’t really have much of a barrier to entry for content as people think.

Another issue with raising the level cap is all classes, whether magical or not, have one attack stat and that’s power… the game is too rigid for any progression except high stat tiers like ascended and leaving game at 80 cap or going above 80 and making old gear obsolete by rigid tiers, ascended, ultimate gear or whatever next gear tier name you want to give it etc…

It just doesn’t work with the rigid structure Anet has in place for gw2.

Only options are to lv 80 with new traits, skill and areas and stuff or raise cap, get new level restricted gear with higher stat trios (or quads), traits and anything else.

Having every class based off one stat (power) and not have different attack stats for magic, melee, and ranged sucks. Then you can have gear separated by stats not level to be able to equip them. No trinity required either! Armor could still be level based and have one defense stat still to make it easier to code/update. You can also raise level indefinitely and still no one will be left out as the stats and level will blur eventually with stats based gear.

PSO 2 does it right in ways, as all gear is restricted by stats not level. Its soft capped by level if you don’t build your character right, as most stat gain is gradual from level.

So no matter how high the level gets leveling to the higher cap just makes wearing stuff easier and new stuff may or may not be added to compensate. The level cap soon becomes meaningless after a while if best gear is capped to a certain stat requirement. Everyone soon becomes around equal and its just skill based after that trying to avoid tells of enemies and one shot or high damage boss attacks and mechanics.

If you can’t get 700 attack you can’t equip that best in slot sword/spear/w/e, but the gear below it isn’t half bad either. I get away with very good stuff if not best.

I rather have a new level cap than grindy ways to get gear (ascended/legendary) as I always prefer level grinding over gear coming from someone that played games like PSO (phantasy star online) and RO (ragnarok online). Moderately good gear to just get through the game wasn’t an issue even very good or near best in slot was not too grindy to get. It was because most gear was level restricted or stat restricted (both cases in pso). But gw 2 doesn’t really do the gear progression well anyways! Its so rigid and well mostly cosmetic.

Having a new level cap would mess more up than good despite as much as I want it as weapons and armor are level restricted only. Instead of having a system to have gear based on your stats or some other factor and have things drop uniquely across the world with various drop rates.

The games I played had a very open leveling/stat system where you could min max in a way to get gear on you faster earlier at the cost of surviveability in defense (hard penalized by having a low enough level not to equip level restricted armor) or some other loss (accuracy/etc) but these are traditional holy trinity/no active dodging mmorpgs with a dodge stat (well exception being PSO 2 which has this stat based system with more active combat than before and a very good dodging mechanic).

I think I somehow fell/jumped through it trying to get on the ramp from a certain side.

I really didn’t know how to get on the ramps going up to the area above there, (its for a commonly missed vista and I was going up there for a screen shot for the Krait forum rp thing going on here) and I just was jumping and swimming around it and I eventually jumped through a small space and got stuck.

My GW 1 Character name is like the OP’s. Also she is the name of the main female lead in a series I was writing but stopped. She also was my main in GW 1 so this makes her my GW 1’s descendant. They were also both elementalists. She is my GWAMM and my 50/50

Odd bug with way pointing from in water to an out of water location in Forstgorge. I’ll keep falling (and screaming cutely) and if I move will not go anywhere and inch along slowly still falling and screaming. Paying for the same waypoint you appeared at (or going to another) seems to fix it.

I paid only $10.25 (trade-ins and the pre-order down payment). I barely complain in this game/about this game at all only because my patience is the longest of anyone here. I’m still waiting for a Cantha expansion. Is it happening? No not for long while. Do I cry and go to say “I’ll quit!” if it doesn’t come out tomorrow? No I just wait and enjoy what is given to me. If I don’t like it, I have 2 other free/old mmos and an emulator to keep me busy and bunch of non gaming related stuff to do to keep me busy.

I wouldn’t call azurite crystals, sentinel’s inscriptions, food recipes and the like prestige gear.

If it’s a cosmetic item/memorabilia then sure. I can understand not bringing them back (personally I think all these sorts of items should be bound anyway and have the sort of prestige you can’t buy with gold but that’s another topic for another time) but it’d be nice to have the more generic items and consumables be brought back seeing as they can actually affect the game and the like.

Sentinel is one of the only armour sets I can use with one of my builds. It’s sad to see I can’t get them, because they cost 200g per piece… It’s the same reason why ascended are so bad… they’re limited to overly rich players.

No they are soldiers. The power and vit are inverted in Sentinel’s.

The idea here is that a stat set should not be aviliable to one group of people in game bassied on how rich they are or tehy were at teh right place and right time to get it.

What if say, Berzerker’s was removed and rubies were only available in one temporarily content?

The playerbase as a whole would be in an uproar. Then, again some people would be happy. Yet then only the people that have zerker already will be allowed into content/parties.

Yeah I’m still fighting with the forums (keeps destroying edits or not completing edits) and trying to identify every song in game/ost.

It was an old sound recorded by them when they were making sounds in an old abandoned reactor silo there was a video on how they make the game’s sound and they made this exact bugged sound effect. I can’t find that exact video, but that sound was created “in house”.

Eye of the Storm occurs in Kryta/Ascalon in GW 2 a lot.

The problem is that these botters instantly have a new account to play around with. It seems almost every day that I get whispered by a player by the name of (smack face on keyboard for random name), which I then report, only to be whispered by a new bot the next day. They just use random nonsensical letter combinations as character names, and whisper everyone in a zone automatically. I assume Anet is closing down all the accounts we report…. but how do they keep getting new ones and still make a profit? Are they using free access keys?

They are using access key hacks! I found proof of this by dumb luck in youtube (looking at legit gold making vids) and pmed a admin/gm/Dev here about it to not share it to the public. 90% of bots now are made using those. The game is officially now F2P with that bullkitten going on.

Yeah that whole map is now unstable. It seems with Lyssa half working and half bugged (a vet spark just standing around not going hostile even), the whole map becomes a problem even the unending battle theme bug appears after a story quest and coming back (dying fixes that one).

its bugged on TC cannon is busted rest only works barely and the lag is horrendous even with just 5 people around, 2 fps on all machines reported.

LFG is useless. Not many know how to use it in TC, or don’t care, or make that logical leap to knowing I post there and people know a party is being formed for x content. Here is why.

The LFG tool is not fluid enough to be used properly just saying. You literally need to open it up to see what parties are available.

I suggest that, it could be less detached from the game, by say, going to an npc/animated bulletin board (like an airport arrival/departure screen? Too bad GW 2 isn’t that Sci-fi genre wise) or a message that pops up in your chat window (one does but its short lived and possibly drowned out by map/etc), or a hint bubble (every map change (toggle-able) “parties are available. hit “Y” to find the LFG tool and find content to join.”

I post LFG COE p1 and my wants an needs for how to get it done who I want, etc in the amount of space required.

A small green-yellow server message text (“a new build is available:” color) appears with the party name and text goes into the chat window and then only shows there ONCE! It will be soon drowned out by whatever is going on (DR in the case of TC RP/etc. (love you guys but sometimes too spammy for LFG) and LA and its all day chatting in map.). No one will see it and make that connection that party even exists unless they bother to look.

Guesting because of party (game is buggy with parties when not on same server for dungeons also because overflows). Fractals still works different party-wise than other dungeons. I really am not sure how its works these days, been a while. Still you can’t play with EU servers even for fractals if this OP or you are EU.

I’m still around lv 8-10 or so. If you are NA server guest to TC or I guest to you, forma party we can go in together (I know most of the fractals already). I’ve been meaning to go into fractals for a while now.

My guardian had this where she looked cross eyed/kitten when only in ghost form in the Lunatic Inquisition mini game. Its one of the female human canthan faces.

This matches the thing in that cave in Straights of Devastation. Maybe its an old Asuran city Vault?

((don’t mind the Asuran Banther I logged in (out of a home instance) on and went afk right after without my clothes/armor on again. I need to start hiding chats or blacking them out. T.T))

Dust going up? Dust will never go above 16-20 s a piece due to ecto salvage. If it goes back to old prices of 30+ s a piece I’ll be surprised.
