They’re a minor nuisance at worst. I can agree in wishing they weren’t there at all, but that’s the world we live in.

I’ll think the best of you and assume you’ve never done anything shady to warrant any special attention from the gold sellers.

If you see any absolute gibberish user names in your ‘followers’ list, names that look automated or “botty”, add them to your block list.

If you want to go full paranoid mode, add all of your followers to your block list for a good while.

After this extended time has passed, remove everyone except the gibberish people. If this doesn’t completely stop the bot spam, it’ll certainly significantly reduce it.

I have a feeling its all the gems I got via cards for xmas and the fact one of my guild mates gave me100 G (legitimately of course) to use on upgrades that they started targeting me again. Or it could be my name (and character name) as well. Is it such a stretch that they are getting that info on us even if we are secure?

I remember where exactly, but it was in GW 1 days it was a small thing in the Languages of Tyria page or whatever that page was with all the written and spoken stuff we had.

All we got now is New Krytan out of all this, and just characters speaking in whatever real world localization for dialogue out of convenience.

I do want to see something like in GW 1 that as really trolly like, stick figures or something like Gwen-chan again.

I have them sometimes 3 harassing me in my guildhall when I’m doing upgrades and material donations and other general maintenance stuff. Its like they only are in the hall, invisible, and messaging me when I am there!

I Rp Yumiko as a Noblewoman of heavy Canthan descent (at least 80% by bloodline), that came form a long line of Canthans that stayed here in kryta after reinstating Salma as Queen. They also tried to help in her native homeland in Winds’ of Change but after seeing the changes happening for the worse, they decided to not to stay in Cantha and live in Kryta where they’d be most welcome after reinstating the monarchy with other heroes. There is evidence that some stayed behind in Cantha after its isolation (so that opens the door for other Ishida or related family to be played by other players in my RP guild and when Cantha does return to GW2).

Also, Yumiko keeps a sizable stockpile of rice in her home. As she makes a lot of ethnic food with it.

It annoying, and it prevents me from properly doing 360 degree turns to look at armor on them for dye choices, etc.

The characters I have always are twisting in the opposite direction of my camera turn and also looking up when going down and vice-versa. Its like they are looking at an invisible object or thin air and targeting it when I’m clearly not.

Right-click to target interact is OFF!

I’m Using Free Camera as a temporary fix to be able to turn camera when idle with left button so they don’t twist every which way!

It also messes with my immersion! My characters are not crazy and staring at nothing in weird places!

I know it originally started with two handed weapons, like great swords.

The key rate is more like 33% key for a map completion 67% is trans stone the wiki also noted this based on one full 100% of all core maps.

The red color swatch dye kit from season 2 achievements had every dye selectable in red spectrum and no RNG involved like the birthday versions. I wonder of that was intended at all, as most of the achievement rewards are carbon copies of the gem store stuff you buy. I already used it, so oh well.

Ele has the ice shards which stacks continuous damage for a large number (as long as you don’t get hit or move) if we are talking about largest cumulative damage ever recorded, Ele wins hands down with that water #1 skill. I did upwards 60k total with it once.

It will cost you 12g+ per portal in materials to craft it on artificer 400.

Katana and “Samurai sword” are one in the same. Though I suppose “Samurai sword” Can describe anything from wakizashi, kodachi, katana, daito, to tachi and odachi.

Which brings me to Yumiko Ishida’s comment. Nodachi Doesn’t exist. It’s odachi.
Dachi is from tachi, a word for sword. T and D are interchangeable when words are combined together to create new words. “O” means “Great”. So it’s literally a greatsword. You’ll see that this fits since the weapon in game is of the greatsword type.
Nodachi would literally mean…. hmm, “Of sword”, which makes little sense. The misconception arises because when you say odachi in English you are naming a proper object so you say, “That is an odachi.” But the N in “an” blends into the word. It would be like a non English speaker hearing Nonion when we say, “An onion.”
Someone heard it spoken as such and it just kind of stuck.

Yesterday I ran around VB trying to find a small group to do events and we were 3 people (from 8pm till 11pm).

Nah, just add a lobby area. People are going to try and pug it, no matter what and would only get upset if ANet limited access to Guild Halls. So rather add a lobby area for each raid so people can stand in there and spam LFR-condiengi, healer, tank, and leave open world alone.

They should change these event chains to be like how they implemented the Silverwastes. Throw out the fixed-time cycles and make the meta advance based on progress made. The day/night cycle sounds cool, but it doesn’t work, throw it out.

Well the problem there is you then have people jumping from map to map (in the case of SW it was from Vinewrath to Vinewrath), so you might end up with people not pushing the meta but waiting in LFG.

I find Orr maps being a lot more active than HoT’s ones. And it’s 3 years old content.
And if I had to do meta events now, I’d chose Silverwastes without hesitation.

Why? It’s a lot faster and gives better rewards for the time invested. There are events EVERYWHERE on the map ( protect/upgrade keeps, escort yaks, random vet, ppl digging here and there, then breach and VW + maze).

The outpost system is fine and all but yeah the lack of more widely dispersed short quick events isn’t ideal. Having the big event chains is fine, but having a few small events here and their allows for more exploration, a bit of variety.

No. It’s because the maps are empty. Why aren’t there queues to get into the new maps of the first expansion to be issued in 3 years? Why hasn’t Anet needed to create new servers to handle all the traffic from new customers?

Queues? Are you even a player? Probably not. Ok so ANet has the Megaserver system, as far as I can tell using virtualisation and cloud-y stuff, is able to dynamically create instances of a given map, and of course close unnecessary instances (so it’s a bit more efficient than the old system where there was always a active primary map instance open. In this old system they had the overflow and queue system but that was years ago). So this is why there is no queue, because as a map fills up a new instance is created (although I still think the algorithm is iffy, I think it not so much filling maps but distributing players over current instances). This solution is also pretty nice because it allows for easier scaling of the physical architecture. Undoubtedly ANet did increase their server capacity (although I’m not sure if they host their own servers or if they’ve built GW2 ontop of some other cloud platform. If it is the later then that’s even better since most cloud providers allow for dynamic scaling of resource, so if you need more you can get more… for a higher price usually but that’s another topic).
So actually I think the lack of queues and need to get more servers is not a bad thing, it rather indicates that they’ve got a solid system there.

Good questions. Usually when a popular MMORPG releases a highly successful xpac, several new servers have to be created to handle the population. However, all we heard about launch day was how “smooth” it was. It would certainly be smooth when there were fewer players than expected.

So if the launch was not smooth I imagine it would be ‘oh look how buggy and broken hot is’ but if it is smooth ‘oh look no one is playing the game, the game is dead’. Do you see how that reasoning could be… well very odd. I mean you’re clearly looking for fault here. Now now I know confirmation bias and all, but it seems you’ve set up a scenario where the only success is failure. No literally the implication is that a bad launch is a good thing.

There’s a bigger issue here.

Yeah I know, I call it Fallout 4, and Legacy of the Void. Of course that was to be expected I guess.

Right now VB T4 day fails even with the best organization because the tendrils part of pact camp bugs up and can’t be completed, thus leaving everyone with one or two events short in daytime to get T4.

Yet every map I organized myself has succeeded to get night t4 or very close to t4 n both since I took it into my own hands.

The access spot for raids has to be moved ASAP! It even causes the Itzel hunting party event that goes by there (one of three paths needed to be completed to move on to Itzel fires) to be scaled up to extremes and fail multiple times, thus ending up in a endless loop as that path they take there can’t be completed without an equally large group to match the afkers, and you have to do all three hunting parties successfully to get to the next part of the event chains.

Meta sucks period! I said time and time again join me and our guild, Mentors of The Meek [MEEK] and we can do things how we see fit and with no required stats or builds or gear!

The loot in VB and the later maps, (well I haven’t ventured beyond VB, still trying to get every achieves and mastery there), is fine. I never have gotten so much easy rares and t6 mats before, SW I had to open 1000s of bags in bulk.

Yeah when something is new, everything else is chopped liver we already get that. Its annoying, sure, but we just have to use our heads to and be less selfish and more selfless and organize the maps we want to do.

Jumping form SW to SW is a bit cumbersome, I usually stay on the one map. I already have my +300% Magic Find and reorganize it as I’m very good at doing that. I do wish all the versions of VB and beyond were not synchronized like the stupid bosses are now. SW was much better in implementation.It would make it easier to get the harder achieves and Hero Points done that are gated by night or day or the last 20 minutes of night when its the only time helicopters descend.

These other non-mmo games that are popular (Fall Out 4, etc.) really messed up the launch and longevity of HoT. Anet really messed up as they should have anticipated these launches of alternative and substitute products and launched the game later. It also would have allowed more time to fix a lot of bugs that we are dealing with still.

I spent a whole day doing that puzzle and getting all 29 remaining badges and completing it 100% with all chests opened. By 29, I mean, the hardest #30 I was ported to when it was fairly new a year ago.

#5, #7 and #13 were the next hardest.

Here’s a tip: bring a lot of teleportation guns and experimental rifles, and do it as a Dragon Hunter, the F2 skill is invaluable. A mesmer friend or two helps as well.

I have been doing the JP under the Silverwastes dying over and over and I noticed that certain areas have random music changes. Like a corner playing Ascalon Searing music from GW 1 and other parts playing Orr music from this game we are playing now. Other areas like bridges playing ambient night music for Kryta areas.

What sort of methods or functions are being used for these small pockets of changing music? Is it arrays, vectors, a mix of things? Am I using these terms wrong?

what about the map event rewards? Those might not be available to non HoT owners.

I did…and it did not work.

I just hit 13k AP today and I got 10 more mystic forge stones my old 50 say account bound my new 10 are non-bound. I can’t stack them and they will take up two spaces in inventory and bank.

Another failure by Anet, just like the tribal set no longer being available in PVP! They should just let us buy the box like the rest off the Itzel vendors.

Story is required at least once now for having unlimited access to the pvp reward tracks for each dungeon… unless anet did away with that.

What about the champs of copper(red) Colbalt (blue) Platinum (amber) and gold and Silver (Indigo) at breach and the Legendaries at lv 4 defenses in silverwastes?

Unless your argument is that the risen, mordrem, branded, etc. are the “natural state of Tyria” and that by making it all flowers and sunshine, we Tyrians are messing up the system and in order to fix it the Elder Dragons have to consume the ‘messed up system’ magic into themselves to give the ‘natural state of Tyria magic’ (what Tyrians perceive to be corrupted magic) back into the world in order to hold the prison together, and we simply haven’t seen them hit the stage of "putting ‘natural state of Tyria magic’ back into the world.

Which is similar to one of my original theories where Tyria’s natural state is the ‘corruption’ of the Elder Dragons and gods (not the Six Gods but other gods like Zintl, Amayali, Koda, Great Dwarf) came in and messed things up many cycles ago.

But your theory still has the flaw of the fact that the Elder Dragons release uncorrupted magic while they sleep from their own bodies (as proven by Primordus and Zhaitan).

So possibly what you are saying is that Zintl, Amayali, Koda, and the Great Dwarf are possibly other Elder Dragon-like entities that can also corrupt? Like Dwarves turning to stone?

ok I see your problem, I think your graphic card is ok but the processor is just too slow, you need 1 or 2 core with high ghz. for example my is i7 5960x overclocked to 4.7 ghz! Oh by the way never buy AMD, always go with intel!

I had my family buy it as a emergency replacement for college for the better one I had that burned up after 3 years, as it had issues since I first got it. I have many problems with (mostly speed issues) this current one, but heat issues destroying it will never be one of them.

This one is also 3 years old.

GW 2 is not the priority for me, its making something for myself or out of myself and making money,having a good PC play the game effectively and in the nice graphics you are touting is only a bonus for me but not as important… I actually like all low-medium and native sampling resolution better than all Ultra/High as the light sources and stuff are too bright and blinding to me.

Even if I got a new PC to play it, I’d probably bring it all back to low again.

I guess each person have their own taste! But as long as you love the game its all good!

This is as high I can force it with it still being pretty stable. Auto detect option makes it all say low and such. I can go best appearance and force it to pretty high values, but then I get into problems like stuttering and stuff. I rather not make my terrible cpu suffer even though the HD card support so much more!I might post a “Best appearance” forced image later.

I do love the game you are right there. Story and game play matter a lot as well to me. I could never get into WoW for its terrible art style and child-like graphics.

But give me a retro-styled MMO in 8 or 16 bit graphics, and I’ll jump on it.

The first instance of this happening is intended the fields eventually get to an event to have it burning and you must put it out… and you can’t harvest anything until the event ends.

The second instance is really odd.

Was HoT launch also supposed to give us chests for Southsun, Dry Top, and SW 100% map completions as well now?

I don’t even have those rewarded to me retroactively either. And I have some of those maps 100% on 2 characters. Just before typing this out, I just finished VB on Yumiko Emi Ishida, so I got no chest or anything on VB at all either.

There is a Lunatic Courtier in Lions Arch that walks through near the forge and says his lines still even after everything is gone.

I really dislike its all tied to season 2 content which I can’t do solo and jumping puzzles that I can’t do well either. And three in fractals on stuff that is hard for me to dodge (shockwaves of molten alliance bosses) and one that involves the dolphin form, and one that no one can do right and everyone skips which is the ooze boss.

The rest is money sinks, Which isn’t right at all.

I’m already trying to play players to run the content for me so I can get the achievements necessary to get the mastery points needed to max the core masteries but everyone is trying to do the new content in just a week instead of helping players like me. Its kittening sucks!

I doubt I can even get a Mesmer or two to get me though the gold badges/jumping puzzle in SW anymore! The guild I built with others designed to help people like me and be non meta/no hassle, even went down the drain as no one that built it reps it and we all have lives and don’t even have time to run it.

Th old blind fold is of the Seer’s Set, which existed long before Revenant was a class.

I had it at one time on my elmentalist Yumiko Emi Ishida, but I didn’t really bother to explain it. I use the wraiths mask now to have her eyes glow with blue fire when she is at her maximum magical potential.

If I were to have the blindfold again, I’d probably have it on her so she can interact with the celestials as a Canthan should be able to do especially, Hai Jii, which is her patron celestial.
