…
I guess my attempts to balance out this argument are null. I seem to like armor that is form fitting and functional more than bulky which is why I gave the priory example…
To me that is sexy how it fits her figure and yet protects her fully no matter her profession…
Most armor that do show some skin cover the most vulnerable parts. GW 1 had a lot of Ele armor that did not do this at all. My most favorite was elite Canthan where it fit her body so tightly that it was appealing to me, but didn’t feel like it was forced to make the sex selling point that it had to show lots of skin. It worked yet was the best of both worlds.

More armor like this Anet and I’ll be ok with it!
I wish anything you said here was actually true.
Welcome to the world of subjectivity and independent opinion.
Also, I’m assuming that by “Sexy” you really mean “Revealing”.
Medium armour being so would probably invalidate its status as armour, but I can assure you, there are medium sets out there that are ridiculously revealing.
Take the Order of Whispers set for example:
Click to revealThat torso piece is ridiculous when it comes to offering protection, but probably qualifies for the younger, lustful teen audience as being “Sexy”.
If you really want your character to look like she’s out for a night on the tiles or soliciting business from desperate men, there are plenty of options out there. You just have to look a tiny bit harder, but I’m sure you’ll be doing enough of that when you finally acquire it, so doing so now shouldn’t be a laborious task for you.
Doesn’t have to be revealing to be sexy…
Priory heavy, medium, and light armor accentuates the curves of her body despite not showing any or much skin at all and still protecting all her vulnerable spots from harm. The armor is very tight fitting and close to her skin.
Just go to the three orders and preview their armor sets (though you must be of that order to see the shop). I wish my ele was priory as that set is sexy! Also there are very rare sets (in orr) that make you look like the heroes of GW 1. Mhenlo anyone? The wiki has almost all of them with images.
Its not that much that people doens t want to play together…
Is more than traveling to meet people does cost too much -.-
I bet all you say would cease to be if TP were free…
Just find another money sinking method, but actually paying to get to tp is bad.
I remember well how many times i read “champion XXX here need help” or “can anyone show me YYY”, or help needed ofr story etc etc etc and i don t go because travel costs so much :|
This get even worse when you have to play with lower levels, were they happily teleport everywhere and you walk a lot
Its not just this, there are maps (lv 50 and higher) with no one but dragon campers, world boss campers, or bots, and I can’t get help on events or skill points that require parties to complete (when they are guarded by champions or tougher veterans). These cost me time and money and give me a lot of frustration to try to fight the boss or mob alone tooth and nail breaking my armor over and over.
I get smart kitten remarks that its a solo game in my very own guild or people say res yourself at a way point (and waste more money). Or change your build/l2p remarks.
I’m about to create my own guild and quit playing in high level areas until I form my own little community that will follow me to the ends of Tyria on values of friendship and trust. As I’m sure there are some people on here that will appreciate my help and my play style.
I did not buy this kittening game to play alone from 1 to 80 (I’m already 80 on my ele and have only 60-70/70-80 maps left)
Traveling doesn’t bother me as much as armor repair costs. I can run to you at 25% speed or more with air magic and 10 in its trait line.
I used to get a lot until I started reporting like crazy and leveling up fast (seems they do target lower levels). All my names are Japanese girl’s names (until I make my male charr and asura) so go figure if I get a few here and there. They must be in it for the cute names!
I never get copper in the mails though.
I’m 24 and I started playing mmos at the age of 16. My first one was Phantasy star Online for Game cube and PC (Blue Burst) I found Guild Wars at age 18 and never looked back. Played the first on and off for 6 years. I wish I had someone other than one friend (that rather play WoW more often) to play this game with. I’m pretty much alone in GW 2.
Other MMOs I touched were Ragnarok Online (love it, but it gets stale after a few months) and a free trial in WoW (I hated everything about WoW).
Where? Haven’t seen them in Walmart/Target/<insert major store here>. I.liveinteh US if that’s any consolation.
NCsoft, your parent company, has cash cards for all its P2P/F2P + cash shop games in all the major stores, why doesn’t arena net? A series of 10k ,5k, 2k, 1000 or 500 gem cards at equal values to $100, $50, $20, $10,or $5 will help us that do not want to use credit cards or are very conscious about our personal information.
Edit: missing space character/grammar.
You realize leveling bots also sell gold?
A member in my guild was wondering if something like this will occur and he was thinking using all our useless achievement medals for unlocking new weapon skills in this manner as he hates doing vistas/jumping puzzles.
My only issue with this is that we all don’t end up with another pvx wiki build site and everyone uses the best or most powerful build out of your new improvement to the existing system. AKA discord way/sabway/FotM-week builds (barfs). And you have the sort of mentality among players “Use this build or never enter my party again!” garbage that occurred in GW 1. I think that’s the reason Anet may have went this route with little or no customization except, traits/two weapon sets (and four attunements for ele) and 1 heal, 3 utility, and one elite formula for our bars.
Don’t get me wrong here, I like what you are doing but we have to make sure that sort of power creep doesn’t funnel into GW 2 again as it did in GW 1.
My max attained gold is 2 gold17 silver and 30-40 copper. I struggle to get anymore than that as I’m not in any maps of my level yet which is 80. I spend it all on crafting materials for tailor and jeweler then I’m down to 40-60 silver again.
Even if I didn’t spend it on crafting, I’d end up losing 1 % of it to armor repair and travel costs anyways.
I really don’t know how to get more money other than just farming/completing maps.
Broken in sea of Sorrows I made a bug report in game. Please fix asap!
I have been waiting until I’m well over 20 levels above the requirement to do them. I just finished the claw island and had no clue what to do 50% of the time (I actually cheated when it came time to bust up the ship by swimming to it and using my elite whirlpool skill). As soon as I killed 3-4 guys they just appear again and I’ll eventually die if I didn’t move on. I had the warmaster stuck in a mob fighting vigil/lionguard and he got stuck there dead because I could not get him out with the dead fish bombs raining down poison damage AoEs. I had 3 damaged parts after that and its becoming quite costly for me (5 s) as I’m only up to the 40-50 level areas and I’m lv 70. Travel costs are not helping either. The beach after that was easy yet i noticed how weak the vigil was. Having 50+ guys on your side should at least put up a decent fight. I only died once in it and had to use my glyph of rejuvenation in earth to res 3 at a time. That skill in itself needs to be buffed to have a shorter recharge time. Its currently 120 seconds. That skill is more useful for npcs than players can can actually help you in the storyline.
I’m a female human elementalist with my traits set to 30 earth 15 fire and 15 water. I play close range with sceptre/dagger and specialize in conditions (Earthquake/Churning Earth/Dragon Tooth/Phoenix) to wipe out foes around me. Yet the rapid spawn rates are making some storyline and PvE areas impossible to play this way (I know dungeons force you to think outside the box and I’m perfectly fine with that).
The destroyer queen one I had to give up and repair (I wasted two canisters and 8 silver) and get my guild and one pug to do it. I was nearly willing to pay 5 silver a player for the rest of the game to do my story for me because how annoyingly hard it was.
Now with dungeons nerfed ( love you so much anet!! [not sarcasm]) I can really start looking for players that really appreciate this game. Not to make money to sell on some gold site.
I do the dungeons because they are hard and having just a challenge is all I live for and the accomplishment involved is better than the loot. The title is my proof that I took the time, blood, sweat, and tears to do it. I wear my 50/50 HoM and GWAMM to show I did not use any gimmick in GW 1 to do them. Same will go for here. If it was easy, I don’t want to do it. If I want easy, I could just play Tetris.
I’m not part of the “me…me…me!” crowd, so the rewards have no bearing on me as as much as the experience.
I loved that Reddit post as its so true of today.
I ‘m a lot like the OP, but at the same time, to get an achievement or loot for something (as I’m a 100% of the game type of player) is also an equal value as to just the reward of beating something as long as there’s self accomplishment through challenge. Gear means nothing to me if it doesn’t serve its purpose of fulfilling the bigger picture/goal as was in GW 1 with stuff required for hall of monuments and other stuff wasn’t. Its why I have no Yellow or orange gear (one piece) on me (I’m lv 64) and only stuff at or near my level that works just as well. If its too easy to complete something its no fun and I must find something much more difficult.
I had fights like this in my guilds in GW 1 all the time, And many guilds I left over the issue rather than be treated like kitten. They were all using PVX kitten gimmick builds or FotM builds in pvp where I already did my own thing and kept the game challenging and fun and was still good at what I did, not the monotony of spam one skill (discord), receive loot, repeat.
You call that fun? Says a lot about who they are as a person and what their values are, and who they vote for, who believe in, work ethic, etc.
I have it where people see me dead and run away from a large mob instead of helping me then I hear some kitten tell me in map chat to just waypoint and waste 1s or more even when its near by them or me.
Another thing that occurs is that I see a freshly dead or downed individual in the middle of nowhere and I go to res them they rally at a way point rather than get revived. Am I not worthy? What the kitten is with that?
It does seem they are now all for themselves. I never played an MMO in this mindset as a first priority, sure I’m competitive like the next guy, but I don’t let it tell me how I play a MMO. I see people in trouble or a big event going on, I go there to help regardless of the outcome.
I don’t exploit or look for ways to get things fast. Either it has to be a fair fight to get ahead for me or a challenge for me to get ahead.
I can’t even get the 2 gold necessary to get my final trait book and I’m lv 63 as people messed up the TP with a certain exploit making things unable to be sold or people selling stuff at such a low value (1c + merchant value) that you can’t make money in the TP anymore. Also as a jeweler, I’m able to make rare silver and gold jewelry and sell it at a profit (mostly), but I spend more than it costs to make it atm.
So I’m hovering around 50s – 1g most of the time and keep having to use it to do everyday things required of me in GW 2 (Waypoint/Repairs which both cost 1s+ each travel/piece respectively) along with crafting. Since I’m aiming to 100% complete things, I am still in the 25/30/35-40 maps. These don’t offer enough money to be able to get by let alone break even and I need to be very careful not to damage or break armor. I’ll probably be lv 80 before I reach my first lv 60 area and just as broke.
I could do dungeons but I don’t have time to deal with inexperienced pugs, I can either complete maps or dungeons not both. My guild and this community is honestly, all for themselves so I’m alone most of the time, so dungeons are out of the question unless I can get 4 of my own guild ally to help. Lv 63 and still haven’t 100% completed Ascalonian Catacombs.
I’m beginning to think its a money grind not an exp grind.
I had a similar problem with it. I click on it and I revert back and have to do it until it sticks. Also if you try to pick up an item by clicking on pick up it cancels death shroud as they are overlapping. I hardly use my keys for anything in game.
Does anyone know its your Windows 7 and/or vista User Account Control settings may be at fault? You can find it and , mess with it in Control Panel>User Accounts. Just turn it off and you will have no more problems.
But I can’t say, Akittenu desu! Japanese is kitten’ed
Now that I think of it, this is the reason most common materials are getting cheaper and cheaper. This will lead to another discussion I’m having in and out of game about an bug/exploit involving the Trade Post and buy orders, but this is not the place for that. You should see my posts on that in the bugs section in the stickied trading post mega thread.
Doing an event that coincides with a heart not only speeds up a heart, but gives more exp than just doing a heart by itself. I never try to do a heart unless there is a DE that is close by, or if there isn’t try to see if gathering kills/aggro next to it can make it complete faster so at least I can get exp on top of what a heart gives for finishing it (which gives exp for being some % of that map complete). Also finding areas not marked on the map such as caves and far off land marks not counting as PoIs also adds exp.
In your case you were probably in American district which only allows English and Latin characters. It worked 100% only in guild and ally chat in any district, but if you stayed in American or the improper region (non China/Japan/Korea districts), It didn’t allow you to use a language that wasn’t for that region. International districts were designed for this reason, so you could use any language you desire. Also PvP was exempt from this when you were in battle. It was fun for me to mess with people having them thinking I was a foreigner when they bad mouth and trash talk.
Probably in GW2’s case, It will not work if the world is not Asia based. Which would be a let down for those here that bought the game and had foreign friends guest server and don’t know a lick of English. Also this depends on if we can play cross region anyways.
If anet really wants to get on the ball with the whole able to play together thing with no strings attached, they need to make servers that are not regional and international or just scrap the whole world idea within the next year. With the vast size of this game and its population, I don’t think it will happen.
Welcome to WoW 2.0 in that aspect? Instead of being separated by your allegiance, you’re separated by your region. Never played WoW myself, but I know people that did.

Not saying there isn’t an issue… I may have not gotten the issue yet and what I surmised it could be related. Gw 2 doesn’t have too good of support for the oceanic and Asia regions as of yet. So it could be related to that.
What may be the case is that I may not have this problem because I can’t even get Asian characters to appear and using them just crashes GW 2.
I have no problem with this and I am still as powerful at lv 3 as I am at lv 63. Reason? My traits and skills and build allow me to two shot these things along with bleeding being way too strong. The down level only really hurts me if I get more than 5 foes on me and even then, its not too much of a fair fight for them.
Having your lv 80 armor skill traits and weapons should keep you alive unless you let that wolf smack you 50+ times and are not paying attention.
Personally in some places (Queensdale), I think the down leveling isn’t enough. Others (Lonar’s Pass/ Matrica Provence) its too much with the rapid spawn rates. Nonetheless, if they surround me, they will be facing my earthquake and churning earth and dieing in 10 seconds or less.
The above poster is right you need to kill stuff to get enemy parts to make things. Unless of course you are a Jeweler… then you really are what you are saying you are.
Someone changed their region by accident (either in game or in windows), or its a bug associated with IME and GW 2 (IME doesn’t work with gw 2), or you changed your language in options.
My operating locale is Japan (for reasons not related to this), but my system language is English and my region is US. So I have no issues so far. So that can’t be the problem.
What I don’t know is if you are an Asian user. Could your PC’s region be messing with GW 2?
Its the IME program (built into window) for Asian or other non unicode character based languages. It doesn’t quite work yet in GW 2 as Asian and those type of languages are not supported as of yet. Trying to type in anything but alpha numeric will crash GW 2 (as I just found out now).
Its activated by pressing shift and alt at the same time.
I can do this: Ohoyo Gozaimasu! (Good Morning!) In hiragana in GW 2 chat box if it worked.
Also this worked in GW 1.

If you do not want to explore the other 1-15, 15-25, 25+, 30+, 40 +, and so on areas for the other 4 races, I suggest you combine crafting and daily achievements. You can level very fast for doing a daily and chances are, you may be able to do two in one 12 hour play session depending on who you are and where you live.
I’m way over leveled (even though I get leveled down for an old area, I can do much better than my peers) for my content even now and I’m not even in my exact level areas because I did every map up until now + crafting.
I’m sick of people exploiting a bug in the TP involving buy orders. It not only decreases the value of things, it prevents anyone from buying or selling that item ever again.
You are not allowed to buy or sell anything for less than or equal to merchant value yet the bug allows you to place an order for less than or equal to merchant value. Any thing I can’t sell because of this will have to be Merched, Mystic Forged, or Salvaged.
What will happen when every item is unable to be bought or sold? Will we all go back to WTS in /map?
Have any of you tried running the game as administrator? Also just disable your User Account Controls. That seems to fix it completely.
All chests and interactive objects act like this and if you re-beat a world event boss that spawns a splendid chest and you beat him that same day/session without reloading the map, the chest will still remain open (meaning you not get a new one) even if its an exploit or not, it also poses a problem for long DE chains that trigger a chest spawning boss such as the Modinir King in Harathi Hinterlands. I beat him twice in one long in session (along with others) and couldn’t get the chest twice (relogging in this case clears it but forfeits it as well). What they are doing here is closing the client completely and relogging to respawn all chests and interactive objects and going through the chain to get another chest. its more being predictive of the quest chains than anything.
Rinse Repeat. Get new stuff. I found this whole thing (I call it an exploit) out at the Matrica Provence jumping puzzle when I was unable to load the windy station area and had to close and reload the game. When I appeared at the first Asura gate with the small chest, I found I could use the chest again and again by re-logging, but I only did it once and got real scared.
Phantasy Star Online handled it with the alt key and any key on the keyboard that was a character. It only did emotes though, but the same concept could be applied for this.
Which was Nightfall and EotN’s problem in Gw 1. It occured way too often. And it didn’t take more than 1 foe to do it.
Are you in town clothes? You lose all ability to fight if you are.
There is a 10% tax on all sales. So posting and then making a sale costs you 15%.
I submitted this a bug/exploit in game as well, but I want all of you to see this:
Apparently someone or group of people thought it was really cute to make a buy order at or well below the merchant value of an item to make it impossible to meet highest buyer by causing a unsigned integer loop around to the lowest value they could set. At least my theory anyways.
This is as bad as under selling people that already posted by selling at a loss for 1 copper more than something is actually worth. If this is left unchecked… those of us that can sell and buy with out problems will be unable to.
It seems nothing good Arena Net makes can be kept in its pristine condition due to certain people looking to make a buck.
Ex: I want to sell my peridot lumps but I want to meet highest buyer… The only buyer is some fool that posted an order for merchant value which is surprisingly, 34 copper!
This is not the only problem as one can go to 33 or 32 or even lower. the screen show that you are not allowed to do this. Buy or sell. Yet an exploit exists to allow buy orders in this way. Why? I do not know.
The thing that really gets me is that they think its an auction house… and its not.
Sure, I can place my own price much higher… but human nature tells me no one will jump on an 80 copper peridot lump. and the same problem will persist until the trading post is unusable and people will resort to WTS in map chats as was when the trading post was down.
My solutions to this problem are as follows:
We need to be able to disallow selling at a loss or selling well below merchant value in all areas of the trading post including buy orders.
The tax for making a sale and posting must be made known as well. To prevent gross undercutting of buyers and sellers.
I am currently doing this heart and noticed that my bleeding is so powerful it kills the Irate Bull(s) multiple times well after it/they become(s) docile and green labeled and begins to walk away.
Its easy to reproduce with a bleed or poison or burn skill that stacks a lot.
I think it makes the heart too easy as in that every time its health drops to zero, my heart gains progress every rapidly too. I was able to kill it two times over after it stopped being “irate”.
A possible fix is to have the bulls remove all conditions after they become docile again. This is too easy and may be a self contained exploit with that heart.
