When you want to start HoT, you actually start in Silverwastes where the lv 80 booster takes you. The story actually starts in Silverwastes where Season 2 of the Living World left off and HoT begins.

So start there and begin the first part at Red Fort.

Sorry… I live for sarcasm but yeah, I do tend to agree with the OP as well. In ranked, I play to win.

I do exactly these things, (I want legendary armor and easier to get ascended for my alts to run fractals (my favorite pve mode) on all 11 of my characters) but I also play to win as I know I can get up there (to gold at least) and play even better every season to do so. It really sucks ass that we have the afkers and griefers and people that fake DC (use character select and be slow on switching in) and don’t come in until late match or put in any effort. It sucks to win 3 in a row then have a losing streak of 5 or more after that. Or winning one then losing one over and over alternating every night after reset. I’ll usually play after daily reset or mid day next day from last reset and even stick around playing for 2-3 hours after dailies are done as I just love the mode and the game play. I like competing even if I’m not the best at it.

I enjoy the game an GW 2 as a whole, so I always try to play my best and win. That all I can really hope for. I don’t half-ass kitten in this game. Ever.

I don’t have many people I know that I can to duo with. I also see I said year instead of last season… My mind must be thinking of season as years for some reason.

1. Don’t base it off your purple pvp level bar. The purple bar means nothing Playing GW 2 since launch I’m a 47 Tiger and I hardly touch pvp that much I got it all in unranked and custom arenas. I’m in no ways a terrible no experience player, but it is what it is! That 20 rank requirement is useless! It can be easily farmed with non stop play in half a season’s duration doing customs and trading wins. If its still required make it spvp lv 50.
2. You must play tutorials or get some sort of thing proving you can fight and beat the npc bots in the lobby (even if once) or be able to properly use all the devices like trebuchets. Make it an achievement or something that can be read when trying to enter ranked, no achievement = no rank entry.
3. Playing 25 or even 50 unranked matches should be a hard requirement. Make it an readable achievement on trying to click on Ranked play.

I want gold. I can’t seem to win enough to get out of bronze or even stay in silver, and everyone I get is worse than me or votes for coloseum or capricorn, the two worst maps. I know I’m getting players worse than me in skill but I also get paired with them. I know I deserve to be in silver I-II at least, as my first ten matches 4 and 6 set me at compared to 4 and 6 last year at bronze II-III, so an improvement in my overall skill, but the game mode seems to be all against me.

Lost 4 in a row went from fresh silver after my first 10 qualifiers and had a troll guardian girl that akitten and said we should all just quit and not even play because of X class and Y class are in the opposing team. I lost -31 and -25 the first two matches and it was a downhill slide after that in normal matches without her after I reported her and blocked her to not have her ruin anymore matches. I play a bunker elementalist in spvp and can’t really do much alone. I can hold caps very well however.

You’ll have 500 crowbars in no time! But now its keys!

Decorations I’d like to see are:
*The smaller vase in the noble houses in DR and other missing furniture and objects.
*beds of all types (only ones we can actually /sleep on please)
*Asura lab equipment of all types and various Asuran crates and chests.
*HoT Pact equipment in the camps and fortifications.
*City decor and things like the book kiosks, Etc.

Feel free to add your own ideas and suggestions folks.

So there is no look behind functionality on mounts to see if anything is pursuing you?

Either way I can’t enjoy it until after work today, so doesn’t matter when it starts. Eastern US here.

I struggled hard near the end trying to get 185 mastery as I had almost nothing left but stupid mini games and Story achieves that were too hard for me. I did everything I could except what was still available during events in TD and DS. It was really hard to get people to help you to do anything on these maps as they only cared about doing the end boss of both maps and will not even bother to give you any ounce of help. I sometimes had to take it into my own hands and don a tag and just try to figure out where to go and what to do and lead other like-minded individuals myself. The community is atrocious and the game-play sucks! A lot of the events needed to be done for masteries I have left are bugged or partially broken or have no clear indicator when they are active. I’m talking about things like Lore Untangler and Scar outpost events and Chak Driver In TD especially. You try to ask people for help and they give nasty remarks tell you to leave the map as its the Meta running map, or auto block you (I’m sure this is happening).

This really makes me fell bad for this game that its gone so far off the rails. I am going to get my guild back up and running just to have people like us on this thread and other threads (raids also comes to mind) that are having such a hard time get all into one massive 500 man group to finally get the help we deserve and “play our way”.

I used it for TD Mastery events to distinguish from the HP farm and the Chak Garent Commanders.

I found using Google Chrome instead of Firefox helps.

For most of them, the npc is not even visible despite they are blue. You can’t even interact with most of them and one is completely greyed out and not even lit. How are we to even do our masteries?

Sorry to bump this but, they are seriously bugged! Only maybe 5 or 6 actually work at any given time the rest are glowing blue and one is totally off.

The bug is in the wiki. You need to fix it ANET! No one can get their mastery point achievement for that event chain done.

I got only bugged Elmentalist gear boxes with the numbers on them and the 8001 exp in each blue bouncy box. I destroyed the chests after the patch, as I still couldn’t open them.
I Went back to LA and got nothing for going back.

I destroyed them (as they still were, “content temp disabled”) so I get nothing now.

Do we destroy the ones we can’t open then?

Why can’t I name a new character Chie Amano? What is in the name that is offensive?

I wanted to make a new Canthan descent engineer for the upcoming expansion for the new engineer elite spec so my old one can stay as a scrapper.

Apparently something in her name or combinations of letters is a swear or curse word.

Yet Chi Amano worked fine.

I want that GW 2 t-shirt you get for your character’s in game but that is not available period! It was only given to people that attended a certain event before the game even launched.

Yet you see me going up in arms about not being able to have it?

We all need to learn to use /party more often. Its, that simple. I do it, why can’t anyone else? Or make a squad for mass RP. Also if you want to do actions * text here * is for actions notation. I’m a rper and I already know how do do this.

Privies of Futility: As we all know there is hardly any toilets in Tyria.

I tend to think events like these are PvE’s way of preparing yourself for thing that are in WvW. GW 2 is full of events that teach you tactics and mechanics that are more so needed in PVP and WvW than PVE. It not really a good way of providing hidden tutorials in your game.

I noticed when I used to farm sylvari (nightmare court) in mount maelstrom for bags for t4 cloth, I got a rare to two rares every hour. And I had about 300-400%

And that was consistent. I didn’t get rares that often when I had my base MF (which is now in the 170s%)

This is going to be an issue for those like me that just want to do the whole chain for a Mastery point. I think I finished that portion of the chain though, and we managed to un-bug it when I did it.

Breath of Wild has a 3D map for a few sections of the game. While this exact one probably wouldn’t mesh well with GW2, it’s a good start in a direction that they could go for those that prefer 3D maps for vertical maps.

Zelda’s 3-d were horrible! I could not make out anything in that blue mess! If anything,
they should use the Metroid Prime series ones.

You know, when you break out of a map (Intentionally or unintentionally)? how does it work in GW2 or any MMO from a programming or coding standpoint? I know in old 3d one player games it more commonly referred to as parallel universes or secret worlds.

I’m just curious if I want to design a game in the future, how to not have it happen, or if it does why doesn’t the game just crash or snap you back into the playable area, like many games of old?

Had to make odd broken English title as i can’t have more than 45 character titles.

I seem to have triggered an odd display error with the assembly device’s window after rapidly throwing in things I made via scribe before the first one completes; it was two small super rocks and a empty planter vase.

Hoping anet kills this farm soon so we can just do the event as intended.

You know what’s sad about all this, you all typed all this up, for 3 pages straight, for nothing and he (or she) is already gone. They are not coming back to comment or read this. You all had solid points on what he/she could do to stay and have fun or things they could work towards past just getting better gear, (mastery grind, raids) and wait until next expac for what may be next to work for, but they already said their thing and left not even caring to check back.

I wanted to buy 8000 gems but its not letting me. My info is correct and I have no problems with my CC, yet it keeps saying, “error has occurred. Try again later.” After 2-3 attempts I gave up. I did buy gems on 5/3 and last night (seems to be after mid night today of 5/6 actually). Do I have to wait for the other two transactions to be cleared?

I already got and used most of that 3600 gems I gotten.

I want to max out characters’ inventories and my guild hall with gem purchases and converting to gold to spend on mats and stuff to upgrade.

Unrelated maybe, but I had hang ups and freezes with just shattering of White Mantle Mesmer ’s clones as well and I seen up to I 6 which started causing problems.

We had Anatomical Engineer Lyle, an asura at that, that could change your sex permanently in GW 1, granted he needed NCsoft/ANET bought currency. The kits might be just that— but cut out the middle man and needing a skilled doctor on hand.

Though the item artwork does have a odd potion in it, maybe that’s what permanently changes your sex?

I don’t sell my coins as I barely have any anymore, and I put them all into my guild for upgrades. So I’m not hording at all, but they are going into sinks whenever I get even 1. The same goes for t6 Leather.

I 100% support this! I will just do the easy/story w/e mode just to have the story and move on to season 3, I could care less about the legendary armor at this point, ATM, I’m not even playing the game as I can’t go further in the story until a remedy be added such as suggested in this topic.

I play how I want and always did— I’m not one to be forced to use a build off a site (meta) or anything to go with 9 strangers I can’t stand and will be measuring you with every sort of metrics they can to find some fault in you and then make you some sort of pariah.

I’m mostly a RPer and a player of average skill in GW2. I have enough knowledge of every class to make my own builds, but when that conflicts with the raiding community, I’m going to have to say no to that and not participate.

I’m a role player at least in GW 2. I have mostly humans (5) and a charr, a norn and an asura. All my humans are Canthan-descent, casue I love Asian people (especially women) but I also like Greek and Roman culture, so if I had a non-canthan, maybe an Ascalonian, they may have Roman (Latin) or Greek names and possibly could fit lore.

All my humans are female except my necromancer and all have Japanese names cause it fits Imperial-Canthans (Kaineng) and they are literally based off characters from my own story I’m writing.

Yumiko Ishida: My Elementalist (now Tempest) main and had her since head start and prior. She is pretty much my first ever character I made back in 2004, so she is made in every game I play and follows me everywhere. She was one of two main characters of my story I’m working on. Hikari Kyoko Ishida: I plan to ditch the nickname in the middle and shorten it to just Hikari Ishida. The daughter of Yumiko and a guardian (now dragonhunter). Arguably the cutest character I have on here.

Tomoko Izushi: Yumiko’s twin sister and my engineer, she is very much like Yumiko just more of a you-know-what to people.

Isamu Senda: A nobleman Necromancer (Reaper now) that lost his whole family to the dragons. He seeks to find his own life and not meet the same fate. He is supposed to be a ladies man, but fails at it hard.

Mizuho Kagami: A Revenant that is is the Ishida House’s most trusted servant and rules over all other servants in the household. She is also part Kurzick and is the palest girl I have.

Norn:

Sigrid Almstedt: My norn mesmer that dreams of being a big mist hero. She was planned to be my only WVW character and RP her life as a mist warrior. I never got back to doing that sadly. I don’t even like mesmer that much.

Asura:

Master Admoddix: Admoddix is my Asuran Thief and he has a job, and one job only: Steal back anything stolen by the inquest by any means necessary! He is a statics professor by day and an Inquest harasser by night. He took in Hikari when she was a toddler to raise her into the smart and beautiful young woman people know today.

Charr:

Gagreza Vilefur: A charr Warrior based on a feline-race villain of mine, he is not a bad guy in GW 2, but he is sure mean and nasty to everyone that crosses his path— he only respects Tomoko though.

I just bought gems with my CC, got a few shared inventory slots and decided to get the crystal savant outfit, but when I got it and took it out it ended up being the crystal nomad. I guess I may have to make a ticket and get the gems back. Just a heads up, It may be bugged.

Didn’t GW2 just recently stop using DX 9 and and we are on 10 now?

I read most of this thread and its pretty scary thing that this bug with autoloot mastery exists. I know the afk kick timer works fine otherwise as it will kick you for even less than 60 minutes when us RPers are just standing in a bar and typing away and not moving.

Anyways to the farming issue: I Think I know the area that is farmed where this is happening though as I actively farm there (not afk) on my Elementalist. Its is the Evisomancer’s Resort in Mount Maelstrom. I use my burning build and just kill everything, going from spawned group to spawned group.

An elementalist can’t afk farm anyways, but I do see necros farm it occasionally. I farmed on my mm necro too there, but I always moved to where each nightmare court group respawned, as its just no point to just afk as that takes more time than moving to each group as the group you killed will be back by the time you killed the other.

I suspect that area will be changed as stop gap measure until the bug is fixed or a clear answer on what we can or can’t do in game happens. I know for sure I’m not wrong farming there as I am always moving on any character I use and leave when bored of it.

Yeah just got this upon logging in 5 minutes ago. I had my GW 1 account for ten years logged in on it 10 days ago and got my bithrday gifts and even bought a full makeover on there so I can make my character actually look Canthan in GW 1, everything was still there. I can prove I have the achieves etc for HoM and GWAMM. Anet better fix this kitten!

After reading all these comments and constructive criticism about all this, I realize how much harder I must work to take in all the lost and disgruntled players into my open arms. This is why my guild, House Ishida, exists, to actually have a place for players like all of you (and me) that just can’t do the group instanced content because of the hostilities we face when even attempting it as a newcomer.

In my guild I don’t ask for:

• builds
• gear
• Specific classes
• I actually teach the game and expect my members to not treat new and veteran players that don’t understand something like dirt.
• I command respect and expect others to also demand respect and give it.
• I expect everyone to work together for a common goal to improve together in a fluid natural way and friendly drama-free environment.
  *if we fractal or dungeon we will expect members to not know how to do it yet and will treat them accordingly with respect and not do any skipping mobs or stacking, we will do it the the way anet wanted it done. It makes it easier on players to learn instead of just “Do as I say.” “Stand here and shut up!”
• Raids will, naturally, be a new experience for everyone and we WILL FAIL and just get back up and keep trying. I will not berate my members for just trying.
