I can only make money by making yellow armors that have the good and sexy female skins (masquerade, gladiator, and winged). I sometimes buy the mats I need if I don’t have it, but I still make a profit as I’m not matching highest buyer which is always a bad idea. The idea is to sell half way between lowest seller and highest buyer. I’m always making my investment or better.

It’s not an exploit nor is it a hack nor is it a bot. You probably don’t understand the situation because you’re describing something that doesn’t exist.

Basically this player is just posting an offer for an item which can’t be traded since it’s account bound. Nobody can accept his offer because it’s not tradable thus the wealthy player can offer all of his gold. Since valued list is categorized by offer value, you can send any untradable item to the top of the list if you offer more than what’s currently on the list.

Only thing remotely fishy about this ordeal is that some guy has 3800g to throw around. It’s possible to obtain that much gold but takes a lot of observation, timing, and repeated luck.

How do you explain the orders below merchant value then? We can no longer do that and yet that still persists!

Yeah I make darksteel armor on my guardian atm, yet she is already lv 306 armor smith and can make mithril now.So both my guardian and ele are on par with their respective metal crafts.

What benefits of darksteel jewelry will we get if it did exist in game and wasn’t just unimplemented code when Mithril and ori stuff is just after platinum?

Normal chests can drop rares… yet you’re more likely to get crap blues for the area’s level. If it is a rare expect it to be a crafting material including orbs.

Splendid chests always give 2-4 items and give blue to rare items on any map and level at your real level.

glorious and grand chests (depending on boss you fight, world bosses and halloween are glorius. Grand might be dungeons) give 5 items of blue to exotic rarity and even random stuff like food.

I never seen other types… except Orrian chests which are equivalent to normal and splended level.

I was doing a little search for materials on the TP last night and I came across something interesting, if you type Darksteel (ingot or anything after it) there seems to be an earring called Darksteel Earring and its rarity is rare. Makes me now wonder how to make darksteel items in Jeweler instead of Platinum. Also, was it may just a hidden database item that was never implemented and some botter or hacker found it and starts making orders for it? It has about 10 individual orders for it. It clearly has no implemented way to make it yet it exists with orders on it.

Don’t believe me type in Darksteel into your trading search next time.

I have no idea why this was moved to PhP, I want to know why it even exists when you can’t make it. I’m a 387 Jewler and i know it doesn’t exist in game besides code. I just need to know why there is many people trying to make value for something no one can sell.

Just happened at the wurms attacking the hut in Wayfarer Foothills a simple event with not many people and one skill that was used that makes a bubble noise set it off.

Then A guy on the map chat after I re-logged and reloaded client said he never gets it and his sound is all off… I call BS. Even the best machines on this thread get this bug.

I think a certain engineer skill causes the bug. First a baloop boop boop (the engineer skill in question) then WOOO WOOO WOOO WOOO!!

How i see this:

Exotic =Best stats for just picking up and playing.
Legendary = better stats than exotic if you work hard enough but not much of a difference and is negligible. Highly expensive and only for the true hardcore. You can still kill an legendary player or any geared player.

Armor:

Exotic: Same as weapons. Best you can get without any expensive grind or effort.
Ascended: Since there is no legendary armor, you have “Ascended armor” which is on par to Legendary weapons but for armor only. Its only slighly better and may not even be worth it to anyone but the hardcore. You can still beat anyone in a match with ascended or anything.

Get my drift? Plain enough for all you crybabies? ANET is not breaking any promises.

If keys will drop more often than 1 in 20000 kills or more, I wouldn’t care to gamble. I’ll be using gems for other things, like bank tabs and extra bags and characters. My 89 chests need a key… like a lonely man needs a woman.

Well Gw1 was max 20 until eye of the North came out then it went to 30. I am almost possitive we had a 30 cap. But the thing is why even bother to make a new level cap anyways, we already get autoadjusted based on zone. We do not need any more grindy content then we all ready have.

No he’s half right… Nightfall’s Hard Mode update made all foes level above 20 with 30 being maximum and normal mode foes reaching a max of 24-26 (this was done to allow lv 20 character to pursue Survivor title track or get more skill points every 15,400 exp after 20). Players levels always remained at 20. Eye of the North theoretically could have had monsters up to lv 40 as some event npcs had a fictitious level of 43 or something (see the commando April Fools events in wiki or GW 1 wiki level).

I’ve had a serious issue with this from the beginning and not even with the items like blood or venom sacs I’m talking common materials like leather and cloth. It’s like they don’t want us to get any or something. I went and tried to farm coarse leather at the only place I could find where it drops it’s amazingly annoying to get 4 drops and then suddenly ALL greys.

And don’t get me started on MF and how that’s completely BORKED because it absolutely does nothing for my drops in fact at higher levels the more MF I have makes it drop lower and lower quality items. It’s weird I’ve done multiple tests on this and I actually get rares when i don’t have anything but the guild and food buffs on. smh And please to talk to me about statistics and such because it happens enough to me and to others that I know there’s something wrong with it. And yes I posted in the bugs forums.

To give you and example. I had 146% mf while running the highest zone both the events and random creatures along the way. nothing dropped at the 146% not even blues. I went back in my DPS gear with only my guild buff and my food buff on (40%) I got 10 greens and 3 rares. yeah.

This is exactly what is going on with my ele in maps above lv 45. I tried to farm tier 4 mats in Timberline Falls where the Great OOUO is, and was instantly hit by a MF/ DR bug in the center of the map, “I JUST kittenING GOT HERE YOU STUPID GAME!” spending at least 3 silver twice to use two waypoints! and aniother 1.6 silver and another 1 silver 96c to repair one piece of armor/backbrace. I go to Harathi and it takes forever to hit DR, and I get 1 gold and 7 greens and over 40 blues using just 15% MF via dual Sup. Luck Sigils in my daggers and 24% MF food when under a boon. Thats 39% and I had a booster for a total of 89%. I seem to get better stuff when that booster is not on.

Hounds makes quick work of the Great Beasts events in Caledon Forest. Pop it before going into the transformation.

I have no gold in game or money IRL. So if it drops to dirt cheap, I will be happy.

I agree with the OP wholeheartedly. As much as I love this game, its a mess! I have 576 hours clocked in on my lv 80 ele and 600+ on the account. I decided to try to farm tier 4 materials for both my ele and guardian in Timberline Falls to make the rare and masterwork armors for them or to sell on TP and I get nothing but junk or nothing at all and one single material every 50 kills even with 89% magic find with +MF on boon food and a booster and my dual daggers maxed at 15% (25 stacks x .6%). After a hour and damaging one gear piece and porting around via way-points (cost me 7 silver for wasted effort), I went back to Lions Arch and blew my money on gems to make a mystic kit for the last two lv 80 maps I’ll be doing for 100% map completion. At least I don’t have to waste gold on a kit anymore for while.

It seems that diminishing returns is automatic on my ele now whenever I return to a low level map. Its pure bias I think and I’m going to resort to just spending all my future pay checks (once I find a job this winter) on the game to just get ahead in normal PvE.

Having a lower end machine doesn’t help my cause, but I’m still decent.

Because of the lack of drops and high level bias on veteran players… (I now believe older characters get 100% DR or close to it slapped on them and new characters get lots of loot.) I can’t even play properly anymore as I’m either always broke or I can’t make new gear for myself or others due to kitten drop rates. God forbid I do the three Orr maps anymore (or dungeons for that matter), I lose more money than I get because its too hard to do solo (or too laggy in the dungeons case). No one ever comes to help me unless I ask enough times to annoy them and make them come just to shut me up. The community sucks besides the RP crowd (I only enjoy Role Playing in the major cities now). Is this all that GW 2 has left to offer Role playing and disgraceful kitten that only care about themselves?

I AM NOT EVEN INTERESTED IN LEGENDARIES! Yet, why can’t I make my own rare and exotic gear for my own account characters? I go out and grind and I farm like everyone else and not one material drops nor any golds or exotics to sell or salvage into ecto or 400 craft level mats. I don’t fight world bosses as I get that annoying sound bug or lag till I crash or can’t move. Yet I shouldn’t have to zerg a huge boss to get stuff I need.

I just wish there was a clear cut solution to all this…

I think I’m being biased by DR because I’m in low level maps looking for materials… even with 89% MF (food + luck daggers + booster) I get almost nothing save junk and few blue and whites every 10 kills. I’m lv 80 and a Elementalist with 527 hours of play time on her. Its like whenever I go to a non lv 80 map for the second or third time after completing it, even in weeks after the first visit, I get a clear, “kitten you! I hate you! Now suffer with no drops whatsoever!” Its like we don’t get drops anymore period if we are way over the level of the map…

Tarnished Coast is also full of role players (I’m one too), so you have to get used to that. We are usually very nice and some of us do normal PvE and other things…

Its like this for me… I’m a dual dagger elementalist

1 foe- spam 1
2 foes- spam 1 and use another skill occasionally
3 foes- I start combining the skills, adding conditons, dodging evading, moving about.
4 foes- same as above and with some element swapping.
5 or more or a champion or veteran level boss- Full on strategy kicks in and I’m doing everything to stay alive

Usually I start in air. I ride the lighting then back draft, aura up, then lightning flash on the foes →earth magic then earth quake then magnetic grab a straggler, use 2 and 5 (churning earth), I go back to air and repeat the process then go to water for health and more boons (if needed), then fire and back to earth. Process starts anew until all foes are dead.

im in my high 60s (lvl 67 to be exact) and i don’t see ANYONE in the zone i’m working on right now. i have the whole place to myself. its actually VERY difficult to get through the higher lvl zones by yourself too, every step of the way you gotta fight something. there’s a bunch of people parked at Lions arch but the map chat is dead, maybe this only happens when im on but alls i see is people spamming for groups.

its quite sad really :/ even when i do see people roaming about their soloing and paying no attention to anyone else. its like people are racing to complete a zone and don’t really give a dam about anything else. really ruins it for me cos i barely ever run dungeons, alls i’ve been doing when i log on is go through each zone.

This is my main and only complaint about GW 2! I can never get help ever and if I do, it will take 3 hours waiting dead someplace for it to come.

There is a kid in Fireheart Rise that talks about trying to get 5 grawl necklaces for his friend and something about his friend’s family used to do things like this for generations.

I don’t how you guys get endless rare stuff and ecto… I fell like my veteran character that has nearly 90% of the game’s maps done gets nothing but junk on any map she farms for materials. I hardly see greens. Its like lv 80s are biased against and when my lv 45 guardian farms in her appropriate level she gets lots of greens and may soon see rares.

She usually packs on 50-55% MF usually.

Tarnished coast is good provided you like to RP as well. As people will usually RP and do stuff together very often…

Masquerade is made at lv 35, 50, and 80 on tailor (you must buy intricate insignia recipes at the master tailor vendor using karma) and is rare for all three level brackets and has and exotic version (I believe) as well for lv 80. I can make it for you to transmute if you wish (up to lv 50 only atm) you just have to ask and provide the materials for it as it is very expensive with current fine crafting material prices.

Man you guys have it so easy now… it took me three years of playing to do all of it as I refused to “cheat” my way with PVX builds and what not.

Good Luck1 is all I have to say, it may be easier than when I did my God walking amongst mere mortals and 50 point Hall, but you’ll still have a challenge!

I’m geared for the areas I’m in and I still struggle to break even. I’m an ele and I find it disheartening how much it costs. I’m usually hovering around 1-2 gold and can’t get any more than that usually as the surmounting costs cut any profits I make to get more money. It won’t matter much anymore because I’ll probably become one of those who will spend real cash on gem cards and what not to get what I need and be converting real cash into gold.

Whats worse… Superior Sigil of Luck shows up as accuracy on weapon’s name.

And this is Orr, players are expected to have l2p. Sure, there are always newbie, but players should act like their level, i.e. if they don’t know the place, learn the place; if they don’t know the enemy, learn the enemy; if they can’t beat something (event/mob/etc), call for help; if no help comes, do something else; if you die/down and nobody helps, shrug it off and remind yourself not to get in that trouble again. In the end, you are making yourself improve for the better…

If you do know the area and still know how to play and you still die by bad luck and no one still comes when you ask, then they are an kitten plain and simple. This is what I usually deal with.

Tarnished Coast is the most friendliest environments and has the most RP players I seen in a good while. We have very responsible players as well as we do not ask for your personal life in any form. Only your character is involved.

I play an Elementalist and Guardian that are a mother and daughter pair. Also I RP a very generous old Asuran thief and a grouchy racist Charr. You’ll find me around DR a lot or out and about in Queensdale, Harathi and Maybe most lv 60+ maps. Don’t expect me to RP much when I’m in Harathi. I’m all business when I’m farming loot bags. Also goes for the high level areas.

I just don’t care for guilds anymore I just use them to store stuff as none of them promise what they say they will promise, “We are helpful and will help you whenever you need it?” Helpful my kitten

Until I see a guild that will go out of their way to be helpful and ask me if I need help… then I’ll see a guild being worth more than a kitten bank for my excess food.

I role play as well, so I’m not always going to be out in the harder maps that I have yet to complete, I probably will need a guild that Role Plays and also helps a lot and its not always dungeons I want to so, (I’m not into doing dungeons all day long) yeah stop asking for dungeons!

I haven’t been 100% loyal to any guild since 2011 in GW 1 when my guild I was like family in died. No other guild could replace it. The old members of it plan to revive it in GW 2 someday but until that happens, I’ll be guild hopping most likely. I always came back to Falling Angelz [FaZ] even after I left on occasion to do things they couldn’t do (because of their faction or something related). My second most loyal-to guild was Order of Unrivaled Chaos [OUC] which had some ties to my mother guild and thus I was indebted to them for a time. When GW 2 came around we all got absorbed into a super guild (the whole luxon ally became one Guild) and it was far from friendly after that. I left to tarnished coast a month and a half later after that and never been more happy. The former leader of OUC though feels bad he failed me.

I’m in small guild I found on forums here that seems to be helpful, but I never asked for help yet as I’m mostly farming in lower level areas for materials for crafting.

Enemy types is the only annoying one and I tend to forget which types I killed already so I’m constantly re-killing certain foes. ORR has more than 1 enemy type. You have forest boars and the wild cats in the jungle/forests as well yet that will leave you with 12 more to find elsewhere. I usually just fill the whole daily up on an alt nowadays as it seems the chest reward is more biased against lv 80s.

I did pretty well for Orr’s first map, Straits of Devastation until I got across the sea and then it was tooth and nail to get anywhere added to the fact no one helped me ever for 3 hours there. It was only until I found a like-minded mesmer girl join up with me that we got the map finished… she even was kind enough to help me on the story quest there. I probably wasted 40 sliver in the kitten place. Way pointing over and over and repairing is not fun.

I try to be at least helpful if I can… I will not put mobs on you as its just wrong in all my days of earlier MMOs so don’t do it to me. Luckily in my server there weren’t enough people around in “Straights” to even have that situation happen. I have to say, once I made my frustration known about the lack of respect and helpfulness in the community there a lot of people finally offered to help on certain things when I did ask, yet, still you will have kitten that will call you a Q.Q and l2p and other things.

Ele as a boon switcher with dual dagger is unrivaled in maneuverability. I run dual dagger on her and I hardly die in anywhere but lv 70 or higher areas. The problem is knowing your foes locations… If you get overwhelmed, no one can help you but yourself.

Most skills with a condition that deals damage will say the total for its duration and stacks. It takes simple division math to figure out the base damage or look at the bleed numbers showing up.

Drakes, those gator-like things are fun to get behind and trick into breathing fire, poison, or ice into thin air.

I hope it does get fixed for all of your sakes. It was less buggy ages ago and it bugged bad if one of skritt died before meeting the first in the order your supposed to save them.

Now not even letting any of them die until the destroyer harpies doesn’t do any good or so I heard…

I beat Straights of Devastation with an over all loss of probably 40 silver. Luckily my Map completion chest gave me two exotics with highly valuable superior sigils and runes that will give me enough gold to over compensate the losses. I found a mesmer girl to help out a bit and then she helped finish my story there, but I was up until 2:30 last night trying to do it. I was really upset over it. I really don’t know how I’m gong to manage in Malchor’s Leap and Arah. I might take it easy today and go try to finish Fire Heart.

I think I need to buy the runes of earth as Wooden potatoes used them to give the missing protection buff when you switch attunes. That seems to be the glaring issue as that 33% nearly endless damage reduction is invaluable.

@Incendia.6725 I have a guardian that i usually Role play on and she is lv 28. She isn’t going to do every map like my ele is doing yet she does seem better suited for harder content when I get her there, though I fell that guardian with her high armor is an easy mode and is not challenging enough. I think thief or engineer would be more durable but still a slight challenge.

@Arc that will be appreciated, last dungeon run I did was AC route 3. They were a speed run group and it just didn’t feel fun and it was just, “move your kitten ” I got it done for Ascalon, but it just felt like those Speed Clears in GW 1 I hated so much.

I did a lot of the first map of Orr region, but spent almost 40 silver already repairing and porting about. Everyone just does that Balthazar temple and just leaves. I’ll add you and see about visiting for this stuff.

Yeah I’m in the last three Orr maps (the first one atm), and I’m using Wooden’s build as my original 30 fire 10 water 30 earth wasn’t working well. Fireheart is very buggy and is not leveling me up right when I cross certain areas and DEs spawning on top of one another.

Frost gorge is just vacant and I chose to go through the asura gate (and into the dredge mines) instead of going through Fire Heart to get there.

Bad choices? Maybe

I beat every area up to the lv 70-80 maps and Fire Heart Rise. WvW my Machine can’t handle a group more than the size of 10. Best thing I could do is figure out where the tier 4 and 5 materials drop most often and stick to that, without ecto though, my jeweler is maxed out at masterwork in mithril all discovered.

Yeah my tailor is not at 400 and I can’t farm or buy the materials to get there. Its either I quit GW 2 now or get a guild or party to help me through the game until I can afford it.

I should have to quit over not being able to get any farther. It wouldn’t make sense.

Kittening is the f-word and -ing. Plain and simple.

I’m dual dagger 20 fire 10 air 10 earth 10 water and 20 arcane. The boon swapper build. My Gear is all Knights Masquerade lv 80 Rare (power/precision/tough) and my accessories are all Lv 80 Mithril Masterwork in power/precision/condition or critical %. All my runes are of the undead (superior) for even more toughness and condition damage. I need to afford Superior Runes of Earth to increase my survivability where I can get protected whenever I swap elements or use cantrips. I even get better toughness that way.

I have about 12k HP.

For weapons, I’m wielding two Invader Daggers of Luck (says accuracy by a bug) Rare level with power/tough/vitality.

I get overwhelmed by mobs and spawn times more than actually doing absolutely terrible. Yet I do not have the cash to keep re-spawning and repairing.

Misc Info: My machine is a piece of Kitten Poo, so I tend to not do so well in big crowds, so WvW may not be good for me until I get a better system next year. I have a few alts, but they are hardly used aside for storage (mules). I main A Human Female Elementalist (named above) and a female Human Guardian named, Hikari Kyoko Ishida. They are my main Role Played characters, and they are a mother and daughter pair that can’t reunite.

I can’t do any of the lv 60 and higher maps alone as they are too hard for me. I die constantly and I just get angry and quit and go back to Lions Arch. I’m looking for people that will be willing to do these maps as a group regardless if they did them already or not.

High level areas?

I can’t do any lv 60, 70, 75 or 80 maps alone without wasting all my money on revivals and broken/damaged armor.

I’m struggling to complete Fireheart Rise, Frostgorge Sound, and Straits of Devastation. I haven’t even attempted to venture into any of the Orr maps as of yet beyond Straits.

If anyone is nice enough to form a party with me tomorrow at or around 12 noon EDT, I’ll wait at Fort Trinity
