I noticed yellow critters (moas/bears/stags/etc) give me a yellow more often than any other creature. I killed an orchid spider (lv 2,3,5) today and got a rare and I was wearing 88% MF about. With 26% food I get 114%.

I get a lot more than you guys in terms of level appropriate loot.

Yet I never did a study like this. Nor can I. I have my bags filled with tools and things. Yet when I do get lv 70-80 stuff in heavy or light armor or metal based weapons, it becomes mithril and silk.

While I agree that people should be punished for doing something wrong, I can understand the op’s frustration. Lately it seems that Tarnished Coast has been plagued by more people than normal attempting to disrupt roleplayers. The methods range from people jumping around in front of you, or in some cases ON your characters, to animals being placed in places to discourage roleplayers from gathering. The climate for roleplayers is getting hostile, and I really hope that something is done about it soon.

I understand that people have ‘fun’ in different ways, but when your idea of fun stomps all over someone else’s, something needs to be done. I’d love for their to be a report function for griefers, why there isn’t one I do not understand. It’s pretty obvious when you are sitting there roleplaying with someone and someone else is jumping all over your character, that they are trying to harrass you. I wish that TC had just been tagged as an rp server, but I guess it’s too late now.

That said, I do want to make it clear that I don’t agree with questionable rp being put out into the general public. I don’t care if people do it, hey, everyone plays the game differently, right? Just do it privately, or in an instanced area and no one should be getting banned for anything.

I was doing an private RP in party chat and was changing my characters clothes in an non meta way. (IE going into full nude and then slowly putting on a different set of armor.) I was jumped on and had out of character jeers and people making cat calls ((whistles)) with her and I ran out still half naked. It was in the busted flagon. I played my girl to be horribly embarrassed and I was kitten OOCly too. A guy that I was with gave me a new set of armor ICly as a wintersday gift lol.

I try to do any ERP or questionable in party (or guild) with my own people involved when needed or to go to Salma and out of sight and out of mind. Its common courtesy and your right.

The blatant griefing is not right or /me use saying, “I killed your character” in a god-moddish way without consent of the user. I ignored that recently.

Actually RP is the only thing from keeping me from quitting GW 2 atm. I can’t WvW, or do big dungeons like fractals (which I obviously want to do) as its too much for this laptop and I can’t be getting a new Tower or decent rig anytime soon.

People mostly play rpgs for the sole idea of perfection of your character on the RPG mechanics side, namely, stats and numbers. You can play any normal one player rpg game for that. That is boring here. Oh look! I got better numbers than your ele has. Want a cookie?

MMORPGs have that community aspect and acting your character out in such a way is expected. I played a few very old mmos (Phantasy Star Online is one) where playing with 4 people and comparing kittens is enough for social interaction.

Gw 2 is too engrossing for that.

Even if you are making a character and just playing in the traditional sense you are indeed in a role (that is not you or your own) playing that toon in the path the game intends, which is to, Kill Zhaitan!

Its because there are prudes that want no sexual or love oriented themed chats going on even if the filter doesn’t block it if turned on.

We are humans playing humans (or other races) in an RP environment doing remotely human nature things! I don’t know what planet these kitten are from, but they are just as bad as normal grievers spouting their puritanical views…in map chats behind our backs. I got under attack once for making a normal reasonable crude toilet humor joke and related plot to another rper. Like attempt to make them vomit or something… (making them vomit directly would be god modding).

If its ERP (erotic role play), for love scenarios or very gritty scenes such as kitten or abuse… Then it should be done in a party chat and emotes expressed in < and >.

I can see that warrant a report or two as not everyone should hear it in /say.

Yet there are exceptions like, one describing their back story to someone that asks and then they say that they were kitten a few years ago. Is that reportable?

Are all touchy subjects off limits then and indeed bannable?

Lets see Yumiko Ishida of GW 1 was left in Lions arch after WiK and helped a bit in Winds of Change but decided to stay with Queen Salma as her new shining blade. That ties into now where my Ele of the same name was an ex shining blade. So yeah she probably died a Noble’s death of old age and was one of the skeletons that was made into the Skeleton golem in Ghosts of Ascalon, which made the Great Collapse happen.

Everyone on my GW 2 account is related to the Ishida line from GW 1, so I won’t be killing any of my ancestors. Yet I did RP killing my current ele’s Risen Husband.

South and west of Ascalon on that map is crystal desert (right most red circled area) then desolation (connected to Orr via scavenger’s causeway) and then Elona (not shown) The map seems not fully expanded upon yet.

The other circled area is all new yet could be a wrap around from an undiscovered portion of Elona from GW 1. Like what is beyond the map where Prince Mokka’s theater is located, which we can’t reach in gw1 yet see on our map.

Lets see… Awhile ago I log into my ele and go to karka land and take a dive into the barracuda infested area. This I where I began a 3 hour farm of barracudas for materials.

Right away I hit DR as barracudas barely are dropping anything, even fins, with every kill. I do notice better drops rates if I whirlpool over 5 of them at once with their summoned buddies having drops when the originals don’t.

Every 5th to 20th kill, I get a large scale or rarely, an armored scale. everything else is nothing, fins or a white. I never see a blue until after every 20-30 kills. There was no greens or yellows.

I had almost 100 fins before I moved on to farm karka (also nothing but spiral shells because of DR) and go get my daily rich ori node. I then went back to Divinity’s Reach to Role play for the rest of the night. The whole time, I had no MF except for my trident and Ancient Karka shell (total is 10%).

I had to kill over 300 foes and had 6 Armored scales and 22 large scales. Anything cloth or metal I salvaged and sold all the wooden and leather stuff to a merch. If it wasn’t for the fins and other junk, I wouldn’t have left with 16-20 silver.

Yet it adds might I think with certain traits…

Exactly what I started doing… I need four sets of the stuff for four different sup rune set ups… AC 24/7 anyone?

sup fire x 2 sup hoelbrak x 2 sup strength x 2 (+ 1 of these for re-breathers)
lyssa x 6 (7 for re-breathers)
and 5 x soldier + an orb or crest for the head and re-breather.

I had to get a new scepter and focus just for karka land. No other set up can provide the skills necessary to survive in that hell hole.

Yeah only way is to stack it through ring of fire and earth skills and magnetic grasp (on a foe to pull you through it)

Other way is scepter/dagger and ring of fire→ phoenix→ dragon tooth→ earthquake and then churning earth.

Then swap attunements and use auras/cantrips.

I’m a D/D ele and I’m still trying to fine tune it to make it better, I only use staff in parts of dungeons and scepter/focus in karka land.

I’m at a problem deciding between three different pairs of sup runes for 60% might duration or all lyssa runes (for precision and random boons when hit by foes) or all earth runes (for more defense via my protection boons) I should make 4 PVT sets then…

If you’re in proximity with an engineer and there is a lot going on and he or she uses glue shot it will trigger this bug almost instantly.

@ Jolene: How can one be out of memory when most of our machine have 4 gigs or more? Unless our sound cards are memory hogs or there is a memory leak somewhere.

Face the side round thing on the cowtapult after the harpy attack, the Charr doesn’t do it nor does the betting (just don’t bet ever). Its just a bad location for the thing and not necessarily a bug.

They do seem kinda pricey, way too much karma, and karma is hard to come by. I’ve been doing daily quests as much as i can and i have about 20k karma now. But tier 3 weapons and armor… Man, where do i get so much karma? Sure, they’re lvl 80, but still…

Save that karma for the best stats in the game which are in ORR. Its 42 k a piece for power/vit/tough armor. And only certain temples have it based on your armor class.

I used to abuse condition duration/damage food when I was leveling my ele. Then I switched to MF food. Now I don’t use either as there is better stuff to spend money on.

I farm AC, CM and would like to Farm CoE for the sexy armor set for female light classes.

I make my money via dungeons, karka farming runs, selling mithril ore, and selling every mystic coin I have. I have 11.2121g on my main and about 1.5 gold on my Guardian. It goes up each day by 20 silver to 3 gold each day depending on what I do.

Any way to set it up for a logictech pad? That would be nice. Its no different then the 360 controller.

Make rare gear only and sell halfway between the buyer and seller prices. If you follow the above stuff the OP said, You’ll always make money on rare gear regardless of its level.

Make one in the mystic forge with griffon route + 250 stuffing + 250 glue + 250 cogs. If you haven’t done each version of Tixx at least once, you’ll get up to 500 cogs, 100 for each version.

Did any of you already collect a present? You can’t get multiple presents by going to overflows, it’s limited to 1/day. I’m getting conflicting info on whether the Mists present is in addition to this, or counts as your 1/day present.

I went to him once and only once and it was in overflow. I don’t go to pvp or wvw unless to quickly go to Lions arch without paying for travel.

I have the same problem and I can’t render anything properly on my piece of kitten machine, so I just click things without knowing what they are. I did it in overflow and now I can’t get anything!

Anet should look to Ragnarok Online and their tried and true spawn timers. Yet RO used to Be P2P before the company behind it decided to license out free servers to people that could support their own server dues. It made them much more money that way. Anyways back to the point at hand, they had individual spawn timers per foe or individual multiple spawns (and timers) for each enemy type. Their biggest bosses had spawn timer of up to 24 hours depending on how powerful or how good the drops were.

Usually this method above is more for subscription games but Anet could find a balance. Champion Karka respawns not even a minute after its death if a team of people kills it, granted that a rich ori vein is there, (yet people can and will run past it or drag it out of harms way) and it will be menacing players again as usual. Event spawned bosses have their own built in timers akin to pay to play MMOs already. What is missing is dynamic spawns for normal critters based on population which RO has in place, yet wasn’t quite elaborated on and probably was quite primitive.

Also RO had a limit to how many foes can spawn (which I’m sure GW 2 has in place as well) and Like GW 2, as I noticed, has specific zones where only creature can live (which I like to call habitats).

Their biggest bosses were known as MVPs (when you killed one and did the highest % of damage, you became the MVP and got bonus rewards only for you). They were a cross between out champions here and the Dragons, Giant Jungle Wurm and Shadow Behemoth world bosses. They hit hard and killed in one hit if you didn’t use your abilities right or were not on par with their level. This MVP system was similar to our Bronze, Silver, Gold reward system but gave, gear and exp, not money exp and karma (Money was earned by direct selling to npc merchants and forming your own economy via a merchant class).

These had the longest spawn timers and for good reason and were camped by many to be the first one to kill it.

RO was like older mmos, “All for one and one for me!” No equal sharing of lootable corpses. No equal rewards for both making a kill, Yet there are some things gw2 can learn from older games.

Lv 80 d/d rare p/v/t + full exotic Pwr/Vit/Tough gear on me and I have 18-19k hp (depending on wvw + banner of defense) and all my exotic jewelry is power/prec/cond. So I’m ready for low level fractals. With my Rare Scepter/focus I have a bit less health by a difference of 600 or so. I have a constant 18k hp regardless of my weapons.

1832/1520/1402/1552 (P/Pr/T/V)
2701 attack, 33% crit chance, 2322 armor, and 17165 base health before wvw and party bonuses/buffs.

Only caveat is that I can’t do fractals because of the sheer lag of it all ripping me apart.

I might like to try if you allow it to be posted here, a farming of one set of enemies for a whole hour. I’m thinking moas in a certain area or the barracudas and see what turns up.

Yet it seem to bug on materials, as frankly, I can farm barracudas for hours in timberline falls, yet when I farm raptors in iron marches, I hardly get that many of the equivalent tier 4 materials (sharp claws) in the same time frame.

Might be something to look into.

She is invulnerable if you try to rush her at the spawn point where she starts. You’re not supposed to rush her and let her move on down (She will remain invincible and not stop until you give her room to do her set pathing). Its anti-rush code designed to prevent bugs common in other dungeons where you rush things.
