Before adding any new stat combos… the devs should focus on making every stat combo craft-able by each crafting profession from the get go, and in every craft level not just ascended. This will not be using laurels, guild commendations, LS rewards that don’t exist anymore or the mystic forge.

Dire, Magi’s, Sentinel’s, both Giver’s types, Settler’s, Cavalier’s, Soldier’s, Shaman’s, Zealot’s, Valkyrie, the unnamed Vitality/Power/Healing Power, and the unnamed Precision/Power/Toughness sets for starters.

You got it backwards… Stones (yellow ones), are 3 of them are one charge.

A crystal (silver blue) is worth 1 charge. Crystals are the lv 80 ones.

Not sure what will happen to splitters though.

I really now believe GW 2 got too big for Anet to handle, so they are shooting themselves in the foot with each new update. They released the game far too early. They made so many logistical and developmental errors, it will take another two years to fix them all.

Stone= 1/3 charge.
Crystal= 1 charge.
Splitter (thanks Garambola) = 5 charges (odd).

This boss sucks period! We spent 4 hours in a lv 19 fractal just trying to beat her. We rather have dredge (which we can do rather fast) then this kitten. You get stuck once or in a bad spot, you are done! Total wipe everyone!

Why do people always complain about this stuff? I’ve never played a game where killing trash is rewarding or worth the time spent. Someone please enlighten me as to which game has rewarding loot drops from trash mobs.

Here’s a few:

PSO (Phantasy Star Online) Original, Blue burst, and 2, RO (Ragnarok Online) Any good Korean or Asian free to play or buy to play MMO and maybe (from what I hear) WoW (though I’ll never play any game must pay a sub for) And our very own GW 1!

Any mmo like these that has a unique rare drop for each mob that even trash at the easiest area is worth killing over and over until it drops.

If they made new precursors for new legendaries drop form specific foes… then yeah you’d go after the trash.

Its more like everything is 10-30 minutes Mai Trin 4 hours. She is too kitten hard!

I really like to know, why are some people so against joining big and organised guilds?

There are so many benefits, from my perspective anyway. Why I like being in a large guild:
-Biweekly guild missions, very high success rate (except when a GM is bugged).
-Many other events we organise (such as guild quiz and guild lottery)
-Doing many things with your guildies, in an organised way (like wvw or dungeons)
-Access to a guild forum, facebook group and voice chat (in this case mumble).
-It’s very social, met many people there whom I now consider my friends
-Guild passive bonusses
-Now world events are added to the list

Why are people so resistant to having this?
This is a serious question btw, I’m really curious about this.

Cause there is no RP support and you must rep 100% and can’t join an rp guild as well, or no one helps the noobs on some random event (or a dungeon if you are new) that has been ignored since launch or a skill point (I can name a few) the so called "pros"can do with one hand only on their keyboard.

Luckily, I’m in AARM, and in their third guild that doesn’t require reping all the time. I can join RPCD which I really like as they already do full map clears, in character/ role play mode even, and I can really get help and help others when AARM can’t.

I know what I’ll be doing, finding a new RP guild that doesn’t quite mesh with my style of RP (by some extreme RP purists, things I do might be metagaming when they are not) or try to rebuild my dead RP /PvE guild that might actually benefit from this.

Yeah I’ll be saying that all day from now on or I’ll just leave the game for 2-4 months again.

As I said before, I’ll retcon whatever he did for me and just say my characters handled the last part of the RP story arc on their own.

Yeah or I can just say my own characters tracked down my guard’s evil auntie without the guy’s help and killed her. Its not like my engi, who is also a light bringer, can’t track down her own sister-in-law and torture and interrogate her herself then bring in my ele (who is the good sister) to exact her own justice on her and then my ele burns the captured evil lady into nothing but a burned shadow.

As I’m not willing to redo a whole week’s worth of RP.

Basically half my character’s family of nobility and also of two Canthan clans (marriage is a kitten), became traitors to the crown and joined White Mantle/Bandits, so its been roughly two years of GW 2 with a tragic story of loss and redemption for the Jennah loyal Ishida vs the corruption filled Izushi.

It had many twists and turns and many guilds (that never really worked out) that would barely support such a RP story/plot based heavily on GW 1 lore and some GW 2 lore.

Its also hard as I have all my living Ishida clan as alts and the Izushi clan as imaginary NPCs, as who wants to play Canthans only for a small while only to be killed/captured/jailed?

As long as they are older than 10 years when they visit my city of Divinity’s reach… or six help me if they get near me, my baby boy, my beautiful daughter and my granddaughter! I do not want to see another ill experienced twig doing strange things near me or with my family.

My daughter complained before she gave birth that a male sylvari was contemplating eating her unborn child right to her face as she ate breakfast at the Maiden’s Whisper.

I was certain and she was certain he was of the Nightmare Court. Hikari was glad the bartender lady was there to get him removed.

Great guide read most of it once I got the gist. Problem is, bad crap low-end Laptop. So I won’t be doing that any time soon. Happy farming everyone. I’ll be profiting on the back end I guess with cheaper mats and possibly selling needed stuff like insignias!

Parking alts at nodes and selling the materials from those nodes… yet that requires you to be at perma node every day and listing all those 10x hits on a rich node per character by so many characters.

Hair that goes far down to her rear is a must, and I don’t care if it clips. Also have it fan out to one side like a curved shape and end to a tip.

Using canthan/asian only faces you could make it work (but for more cute style anime-manga art like 90% of the genre). I seen someone do that SAO girl with the orange- brown hair and have it done rather accurately.

For manga and anime that has a more mature- serious art style to it such as, Death Note, xxxholic (as OP said above), and Great Teacher Onizuka, to name a few, GW 2 might not be robust enough in character creation to work.

Yeah I’m going to stay with him for a while longer for one more little loose end on my own character’s stories as we can agree on some stuff.

I for one try to stick to the lore for the most part and not go too far from it with anything I make up.

I don’t go ahead and say that I’m some space alien (yet humans are in a sense), or the 7th god, or a vampire straight from twilight (I seen some people do that and its more annoying than naive sylvari that can’t even be toilet trained… like they didn’t meet anyone in the grove after being born) or anything remotely supported by lore. If he or she pulls that stuff, I’m really gone from the guild.

I seen people do acceptable things with tonics… but its more for laughs than serious RP.

Currently he or she wants to do a story arc where it had to do with inquest and my asura, which was a loose end for my personal plot as he has gone missing for a while now. Yet he wants to have a bigger plot with a previously unknown and evil spirit of the wild.

Fleshweaver spirit and an army of cultists and fleshweavers? I don’t know about that one, but I’ll roll with it as long as my asura comes out of it ok.

Yes that is exactly what he or she is doing, he just now is saying that in his guild’s version or “Grand Tale”, magic always exists, not changed or altered, or limited by any being, (cept maybe dragons) and is unlimited and been around forever with no known basis for why its exists or how it came to be.

So no bloodstones or six gods’ meddling or anything. So everyone can be equal and all races can have equal merit?

Technically the blood stones don’t so much give magic as take magic, the blood stones are actually preventing magic from being used to it’s fullest. The human gods didn’t give anyone anything, they took it away. Also it wasn’t really the human gods that gave magic it was Abaddon.

Humans can be atheists in GW2. There are many ways to achieve this, firstly simply not believing in the Gods, they left more than a thousand years ago. No living human has ever seen one of the Gods so that could be grounds for a character to believe the Gods are only fantasies, tales created to explain things. Alternatively he can take the Charr route, and believe that although there are powerful entities in existence, that they are not gods. This isn’t that hard to believe either since the human gods have seen casualties, depowerings etc.

Is the lore just that bad in gw 1 and 2? Or is there a way to make him feel good about playing a non-human?

Also mechanics and lore with professions? Anyway to explain it better as i know for a fact Professions are a lore thing not just a mechanics thing.

Yeah I’m an Ele and I’m shocked to have had a whole set and a half broken by the end of lv 11 fractal. Though I had one of the more amateur teams and not my guild (who does also take anyone).

I never farmed champs for gold in FGS, I do it for the mats necessary to get my gear made (exotic/Ascended) when nothing else, not even trash, that can drop a certain mat drops it, if at all.

I am hoping its just a gold form opening bags nerf as before as if they reduce the items gain to only that of a white champ bag I don’t know what I’m gong to do for crafting. “I don’t run dungeons anymore as its just you need zerk gear and you must be a certain class to play with us.” I don’t play stupid and mindless kitten on this game or any game.

If I had it my way, I would have content designed that was equal reward for time spent and also uses your brain (full use of the mechanics and system and the various builds etc) even if it takes 6 hours to finish.

But with they way things are, I have to hop in the train hoping RNG in the boxes gets me 30 of a t6 mat (or enough t5 to convert to t6 in forge) and enough silk/gossamer from salvaging everything to make one set of exotic.

I play games to keep my mind alert and working not dumbed down!

I still do and its usually with bad groups. Like Arah and lupi (recently and could swear he was bugged) and The Fire and Frost fractal bosses (had to put on a second set). I carry at least 4-5 sets on me of various armor in various stats all exotic. I have full zerker, but don’t always play that style.

I RP Yumiko as her last rank before commander in her order as there can only be one commander and it is not right to RP “I’m a commander.” and the next guy also says they are one too? Yet there can be plenty of magisters, lightbringers, and warmasters in the game and in RP. Its all about the nameless hero thing. We also can’t say I killed Scarlet as 1000s of us probably did too.

In the RP scene, I play as one of the many Vigil Warmasters of Divinity’ s Reach’s branch and she handles more non-dragon stuff, like Scarlet, by getting new recruits and volunteers to fight her armies in the previous LS part that just ended.

Yumi was very kittened that she barely got more than a handful (maybe a few 100) troops (and of her own order) to send to their doom in the Battle for Lion’s Arch. When the guy came form the pact and said what he said, it further reinforced her ire towards Trehearne and the pact, as already she had to bury her own dead and return dog tags to the vigil and Almorra.

People are saying it will tank in price after update. This is not so as both supply and demand are dropping so it will be inelastic demand like say, washing machines irl. high supply low demand high price. You will still be able to sell to legendary pursuers as that will not be changed. An unid dye will still exist just not obtainable everywhere and make laurels even more valued.

As I said above and before and in the related thread (the beginning of anti-Sylvari racism one), I have no sympathy for evil and would probably make stale jokes about the dead evil doers as my character does with the B-iconics. I have no remorse in real life for most things…. death of even family members (natural causes so far) rarely bothers me! “Oh they died? So what? They are in a better place (heaven or hell) doesn’t concern me anymore besides the fact they are gone. Remember them for what they did that is good (whether it is for you or for society) and not the bad or the loss in particular.” I’m very realistic about things in life and that’s how I feel about it.

Never remember people or a person for what they did that was bad, it only justifies what they did and martyrs them.

I may be cold and possibly a soulless kitten (female dog) or kitten (fatherless child), but I’m realistic. I seen enough in this word already to know no one cares about you and you should not either (except maybe your family and closest friends, which imo only really matter) and the same goes for a terrorist whether its in fiction or in real life.

My elementalist In RP started growing more and more distrusting of Sylvari cause of scarlet and for other reasons, (most people RP newborn Sylvari and they can be really annoying and unnerving to humans that have common sense and are ahem "
toilet trained"). Beats me why the first and secondborns don’t keep them in their own city for Six’s sake. I think my ele may become slightly racist if not fully due to her past experiences and because of scarlet. She already has a black and white moral judgment system.

As for the bad “dad” joke, the acronym spells “dead rot”! Anyone else catch that?

Well the way my character Yumiko joked about this stuff in that bar with the new heroes fits her well, as I rp her to be that way (and in a way, kinda reflects how some posters said we as humans in real life feel about villains— as such with terrorists and rapists, etc. when they get the ultimate punishment). Sometimes, death isn’t good enough and you need to do something to leave them tortured and tormented for the rest of their life like lop off a limb or two or a certain reproductive organ.

And in my role play my female character hates people like Scarlet and those that mass murder and kitten and steal, and she only thinks in black and white mostly. As people like that destroyed her own life and family in her back story. Cold? Yes. Justified? Absolutely!

And for the record everything a bad person does should be paid ten fold back… they kill 1000 people and the evidence is plain as day? Shoot them until nothing is left recognizable. No trial, no jury. If I had my way, I wish it was possible in game to pee on Scarlet’s corpse then burn it ashes with fire magic (I am an ele). Nothing better than defiling such an evil person’s body after they’re dead.

I answered with this as my character is a bisexual female. So that was the most fitting of the choices and she is charismatic disposition (100% charismatic).

Its not that its expensive its that no one cares to do old content anymore thus keeping prices artificially high.

T2 and T3 cloth and leather can be easily farmed in the Ulgoth World event chain with 5 champs and five events, also all the trash mobs in the whole map have material bags that have t2 and t3 mats all across the whole map, not just the main event area.

If only people played smarter not harder.

You only need 70 AR at lv 50 to make agony a tickle (1% hp a second 3 seconds).

You can get 70 ar total in the normal infusion slots, (14 slots x +5 versatile infusions) but most people want to add the MF infusion to a trinket wasting one slot and WvW infusions for the rest, so getting 3 high numbered infusions for the infused rings and back item may be in high demand once everyone catches on.

I made a thread that someone bought +13 (the only one that exists) on TP for 500g. Its in the TP section.

I was looking at the new infusions for a while now and their prices on TP and I saw a single lonely +13 ran for 500 g. Last night I saw that it sold and since it was the only one chances are someone may make a +14! The first ever!

It makes me think that someone with a lot of wealth say, the legendary and precursor manipulators, could well indeed afford such a large Infusion and make lots of money at our expense. They can also buyout the whole market on infusions and make only the high numbered ones cornering the market if they so cared.

I calculated the cost of buying the required +1s at 10.01 silver and the costs of Thermocatalytic Reagents shown on wiki and it would cost around 955 gold or so.

A Player will have to list at over 1228 gold to make a sizable profit after this huge expense.

We now have something in game that rivals the prices of precursors and legendaries!

A +15 would probably cost as much as Legendary and anything over +15 will be a legendary x the number of +1s over 15 +1. It would be like the GW 1 market where things were priced in ectos, but now it will be priced in legendaries or infusions.

This is of course if people will be trading via mail and trusting each other now more.

The only reason the animosity against same sexes exists in real life because the laws are based on religions of the nation writing those laws. The gw 1 and 2 lore of humanity has no such religious basis for such laws to begin with! The gods never cared about that and never said same sex is wrong.

Same sexes stuff exists because of our genetics and biology of animals, not because a god said it is to be or not to be so.

Anet did it right and stayed true to real world in that a religion makes it so whether something is allowed or not and laws being written to reflect the will of a religion.

And your scientific data on this is… where? What many people label as homophobia dates back to ancient Greece. The truth is that pinning it all on religion is a common misconception by individuals (possibly biased or who have a phobia of religion) who type before they do the proper research. Some researchers are actually attempting to classify individuals who fall within the current hyperbolic definition of homophobic as having a type of personality disorder. It is 100 percent possible for an Atheist to exhibit behavior that is considered “homophobic” without a belief system of any kind.

Saying that no such person could possibly exist in Tyria and remain civil is as logical as saying there are no homosexuals in Tyria.

1. 90% of all nations that have a Judeo-Christian or islamic national religion or associate with one (the US doesn’t have a true national religion, but might as well have one) has its laws based on the religious practices on the most commonly practiced religion by the people (as with most supposedly free nations), and in the three monotheistic religions their god or scripture said, “homosexuality is wrong and you go can to hell for it.” Then lawmakers who also believe in said god/scripture make the laws based on that said religion.

2. in the east and far east, most religions practiced (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Shintoism in east Asia and Japan) have no such laws or very seldom do, why? as there is no religious basis for such a law no written or spoken rules given by their god or religious morality to guide them to that conclusion. I think it was not until the US came over and occupied Japan in WWII that we imposed more of our “moral code” to them. Imperialism at its finest! Not to mention the Portuguese and the Dutch before the US in earlier centuries in the Daimyo era tried to impose Protestantism on the Japanese in exchange for use and purchase of both Europeans’ arabesques, which were hardly reliable guns.

I don’t know about ancient religions so much as with Greeks or Romans or (insert ancient culture here) as they seem to not be for or against it either way in terms of mythology and art (there were more cases of bestiality than homosexuality, but that is a different story).

3. Most atheists are known to have been raised in a christian- (or other monotheistic religious) based household before choosing to be atheist which their moral views are already ingrained in their minds at childhood and approaching adult hood. So notions of what is supposedly right and wrong about sexuality is already in their minds.

4. before you jump on me further i was also raised a certain way (Catholic, the worst of all bigot sects) but also taught to never discriminate or spread hate despite my family being just as hypocritical as everyone else of the faith), so I begun to understand other points of views and be much more accepting of them and even going do far as defending them.

And how does this relate to GW2?

It kinda does, as the human religion of the six never had much of thought put into it! Who’s to say there is or isn’t anti-same sex marriage laws or not (90% of RPers I know are saying they don’t exist). So far the evidence is clear in the only bits of scripture from GW 1 and GW 2 have no mention of anything for or against it (not even basic commandments like, “Thou shalt not kill!”) so it must be OK right? Who’s to say?

I think the devs left it just open-ended for us to draw upon our own conclusions and only base the world we are on slightly or a tiny bit off our own real world full of its same issues.
