after quite a bit of testing in the mist, i come to conclude that:
1) if you build a balance build, the dmg is about the same no matter how you build
2) if you build a skewed build (full zerk for example), you kill much faster like a few swings faster, but you drop like a fly.
3) celestial (all stats) sucks for my AH build.
4) in WvW, there are people who are like upleveled lvl 15 and they kill max80s. player skill counts i guess.
5) i have a few zerk pieces, but i am starting to realise that the few % crit dmg is not worth sacrificing for the other primary stats.
yea, we need a stun CC or sorts that is not from the weapon.
signets are crappy imo even if they do provide.
it’s hard to hit WW.
yea make it darker. makes the atmosphere much better.
perhaps the rodgort will rise in price since torches will be in demand too.
it’s just my opinion, but i don’t like the hammer because of mobility issues.

AH/empowering might is good for staff + gs with high crit chance, like 40% and higher.

or to take advantage of the GS3 skill, where blind inflicts weakness x number of people, which means if you hit 5 people with GS3 at one go, you put 15 stacks of vulnerability on them all.

i used to think like that too.. i used to go very tanky builds…
but after some time, i realise that dealing dmg is acutally a form of survival too.
the greatsword is very versatile, can be used with a lot of builds.
healing and buffing is mainly AH builds, or 0/0/X/30/X builds.
yea it’s time to change servers every week or month at least.
make it a mandatory change.
you will be surprise at the number of people springing up to wvw if we had new opponents every week.

soldier VS knight, which is better?
i feel that soldier is for burst tanking with more life at the frontlines, but knight is for taking physical damage, conditions will chew you.
did anyone stack armor until you get like 45% dmg reduction? about 3.3k armor?
does it make you feel godly to physical dmg?

i don’t have the luxury to try as i don’t run fractals so it’s hard to get ascended
so how do you people who run without zerk in wvw fare? do you not die that easily?
i am currently knights + zerk and i don’t know if i should increase my healthpool. it’s at about 15k.
a few thieves HS me and i am half dead.

i realised perhaps berserker is bad for the guard? I mainly play in WvW. GS/Staff
look at these 2 builds. they are the same except one uses zerk trinkets, the other soldiers.
the soldiers has 400 primary stats more than zerk, but the zerk has 40% crit dmg more.
this means that 1% crit dmg = 10 primary stats.
now i think a 400 primary stats would be much better than 40% crit.
lets say you do 1k base dmg.
if it crits:
soldier build (50% more crit dmg) does 2k (since 150% base crit dmg + 50% more = 200% of base)
zerk build (90% more crit dmg) does 2.4k (150% + 90% = 240% of base)
is 400 more dmg worth sacrificing 400 more primary stats?
also, unless you go specifically for burst builds, most guardians do sustain dmg.
which means zerk ain’t that suited because with a low guard healthpool, you will be dodging healing mitigating etc, if you ain’t doing dmg, you ain’t putting the zerker to good use.

the whole idea of MF is bad because not using MF means i don’t get the best chances
But it pigeonholes me into using MF for almost everything i do, so i will never use the set that i actually want to use.
reminds me of Diablo2 where MF was everything, so i end up playing the game with MF as my main set. which is dumb to be honest.

Its random to get them quickly , you have a chance at the end of every 10+ Daily fractal. But after 10 you will have 10 pristine fractal relics which you can buy whichever one you want.

Well my point was that investing in divinity accessories is a waste since you loose stats on doing it since you dont need the all the stats in any given build.
Check the stats out below. That is with no stacking from kills and with three exotics. Its very similar to yours i believe regarding performance. I think you have about 5% more dps and less armor and healthpool. Now add in 25 stacks power from kills and you can really see what you loose out on when using divinitys.
I dont have to swap gear either. As long as i can achieve the same, or better infact, stats without divinitys its the smart choice imo. The issues i have with divinitys, besides poor performance, is that you infact limit your self if you want to stack one or two stats.
My second pic shows my build i use as a frontline pusher in wvw, that build cant be done with divinitys. Its as simple. while any viable divinity build for wvw can be achieved by using “normal” ascended gear and you just have to swap your weapon and two accessories when you go from dps to tank/support.
Both are based on 0/5/30/30/5
I understand that you guys have a thing for them but you cant seriously suggest that they in any way or form are optimal on a guardian?

yea… coordinated charge is a luxury that higher tiers tend to have.
I thought the real power of healing stats comes from selfless daring = dodge heals
and it would seem the last build is better i guess.

Depends on your stats really.
60 power would increase by 60/(current attack)
Or about 2% increase if you have 3000 power7% crit would increase by 7/(150 +crit dmg) x (crit chance)
so for 40% chance and 50% damage
+7% crit = 7/(200) x .4 = 1.4% increaseThe “balance” point where 7% crit dmg = 60 power depends mainly on your current crit chance, because this is quite volatile while power hovers mainly between 2500-3000.
At 0 extra crit damage, you need at least 42% crit chance @3000 power. At 50 extra crit damage, you need at least 57% crit chance @3000 power. If you only have 2500 power, your crit chance would need to be about 10% higher to make crit dmg worth it (because 60 power represents a bigger increase).

is there an equality point? for example, in ascended berserker’s accessory, 60 secondary stats is substituted by 7% crit dmg.
now would taking 60 power be better than 7% crit dmg?

The main problem
The win has been cast in stone before the next reset due to the score difference being stretched to huge gaps. It kills any motivation to continue chasing the leader. Also results in fight for 2nd/3rd.
Suggestions and possible results
1) Make Captured objectives for outmanned servers in the map tick more (say 5 times more) and servers that outmanned the other in the map tick less (say 0.2 times of present)
==> Scores are kept closer as servers are no longer penalized heavily for the lack of coverage during inactive timings.
2) Decrease the timer for the scores to tick
==> Faster ticks means zerg balls are less effective. It promotes spreading of people like multiple commanders for defense, offense,small group of 5 as ninjas and cow killers, cutting off reinforcements etc. , hence good coordination and strategy wins the war, while the stale zerg ball is transformed into a plethora of new roles.
Zerg balls are still strong at that one area, but they lose the entire map for that one area. but they are still viable, for example, they are needed in SMC defence, if the commander feels that holding it is more important.
Or when you are outmanned and need to stick together to capture an objective.
3) Capturing objectives from the Leading server by the other 2 servers gives instant bonus points in addition to the normal points
==> This encourages the losing servers to team up against the winning server and thus makes the WvW more competitive since (hopefully) the leading server can’t steamroll 2 servers at one go.
also, since it gives instant points, it forces the leading server to spread out to defend their points and also, it allows outmanned servers to get points for the objective which they probably can’t hold out for long.
In fact, these 3 suggestions synergizes very well in my opinion. As to how many points for adjustments and such, it will need testing and maths gurus to balance it out
TLDR: Lastly, but most importantly, i feel that the essence of a 3 way fight lies in its ability to equalize itself. This means no server, especially in a tiered system, should be able to pull ahead so convincingly week in week out.
