Paul Belz, you got to be joking.
I played this game since beta and I know how to use and play this game. I’m not a moron who can’t read or do what is being said.
I have seen the mini map, and I have seen Anise, yet when I talked to her, nothing happened.
No progression, no new quest stuff, NOTHING HAPPENED.
If I wish for a dev to read this post I’m not hoping for some dev telling me I’m 95% stupid.
Make sure you aren’t trying to interact with the Anise that is standing next to Canach. As Paul rightly said without trying to spoil it, you have to look north a bit.
Spoiler ahead, don’t read it if you haven’t completed it or are stuck:
Make sure you talk to the Anise under the arch. If you find her and cannot talk to her, then it is indeed bugged. But I had no trouble on it when I went through it with my character.
just wondering, why is anise human in divnity’s reach and suddenly a plant in the grove?
Being a mesmer, she disguised herself as a sylvari so she could go to the summit, I assume.
They were still there. After that fight, you could find them northward a little and they would have a conversation.
Nevertheless, they are still a little fishy.
a·chieve·ment
noun
1. A thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill.
I don’t see what’s wrong here. Achievements are supposed to be that. Achievements.
Isn’t that the NPC right at the start when you enter Dry Top? Very near to the first waypoint?
Read everything in this thread, it has some tips:

I think one of the centaurs in the new area mentions that the centaur shaman has created permanent rainfall in the oasis, thus saying how the oasis was formed.
take note of the inquest camp / inquest gate at the bottom of the canyon there.
Speaking of which:
Also note the small camp which does actually have some things within it:
I don’t see how people are claiming it is very difficult to do solo? At most, 8 mobs pop up, all spread out so you won’t fight them all together. The soldiers don’t die very easily, and in fact, some of them never even get attacked so you can just quickly run past the, click ‘F’, and have them evacuated if you are fast enough.
The only reason I see people might say it is difficult, is because it is very unclear when the soldiers need defending; they just pop up as soon as you talk to the caravan.
tl;dr: It is not hard to do solo, and don’t ask for achievements to be easier, otherwise they would not be achievements.
As soon as you log in during this 2-week period, this episode is now unlocked on your account for free.
1) The Living Story is for level 80 only, but as you have it unlocked, you can play it as soon as you get to level 80. Of course, you could have a level 80 friend open their story up and take you through it to experience it (I think) but you won’t get any rewards.
2) You will get the quest at level 80.
3) It will mainly take place in and around Dry Top, a region to the west of the Brisban Wildlands.
Basically, you need to be level 80 to play the content for yourself.
I was going to create the same thread; she was killed off far too quickly. I felt no emotion when we find her dead, in fact, it seemed quite predictable she would die there. I personally think they should have built up more relationships for this character rather than just writing her off in the second episode.
That cutscene was epic! In my opinion, this episode in general has been the best story episode yet, and the landscapes are beautiful!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They killed Drooburt! Prepare to be kittenned Mordremoth!!
(The big question is, where did all that money he collected go?)
This is the total size of the map. Also been playing around in dry top
I don’t think that is accurate. I would think the map would be shorter in height, about half the size in height, namely because the names of maps appear in the direct center of the entire map, and the name ‘Dry Top’ appears much lower than your outlines predict.
well I just do not find it rewarding my gameplay time.
Well, the content is permanent, so if you can’t play it at a certain time, you can attempt it again whenever you wish in the future. So if you are unable to do the small aspect requirements now in the story missions, try again in the future.
You can also see this thread for great discussion on the jumping of this update: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/lwd/Jumping-Feedback-Thread/first
There is a gate that periodically opens and closes to the east of Prosperity Waypoint, and it is through this gate that you can access the point of interest. It is within a cave of inquest enemies.
What I am wonderin is: how do I deactivate the Replay-Mode?
I did all the achiements but found no button to stop the green and purple stars annoying me on the map and the top right of my screen
It’s currently impossible to disable it once you hit replay, unless of course you complete the entire story chain again.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the lag issue and that people are working on it. It’s possible that one of the sandstorms got a few geodes lodged in the servers
, but they will find out and fix it as soon as possible. Hang in there with us, and thanks for being patient!
Thank you very much for the response! Great to know you are aware of it.
As given above, open your story journal and replay Episode 1. After checking your mail, purple icons should appear on the map, which indicate 3 replayable instances in which you can get the story journal achievements.
Likewise to Season 1, Season 2 of the living story will be delivered (more or less) on 2-week updates of content for free, as long as you log in during those 2 weeks. As such, each update will be, metaphorically, a small piece of a puzzle which will over time create a completed puzzle.
If you want an expansion sized amount of content, I recommend you log-in for 30 seconds when each update arrives, store up all of the updates, and then play through it all when the last update of Season 2 ships. That should give you a plethora of content reasonable to that of a regular MMO expansion – and for free.
I just started having the lag as well, although earlier today there was none. Seems to be random rather than a fixed problem to be honest. But it definitely makes the map near to unplayable.
Replaying the story allows you to replay the 3 main story instances whenever you like; they appear on the map as purple stars. Once you click “replay”, those purple stars should appear, although, I think you will have to check your mail first.
Otherwise, the other non-instanced story content must be followed through chronologically, so yes, for the non-instanced story content, you have to repeat everything.

Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability. Stability.
Did I mention stability?
On a serious note, he only has a few moves which have the potential of knocking you off of the top, either requiring you to move out of the cone, dodge out, or jump in some circumstances. Generally, it is easier if you have a small group with you, which makes you able to burn him down fast and thus reduce your chances to fall off. If you face him alone, it will be much more of a challenge.
I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Maguuma achievement this morning, but I honestly think it was just an oversight on the developer’s part, and the achievements were not updated.
It would be nice if they could be updated at some time, as I am quite convinced we will be seeing more of Maguuma in the future.
Episode 2 of Season 2 comes out on July 15th.
Just confirmed from “Points of Interest”
Every 2 weeks, on Tuesdays, there is the new update. The next one will be on the 15th July.
I definitely agree. Everything else about the feature is perfect, and I would marry it if I could.
If it does become available, it will either be through the store, or given as reward for the completion of a certain episode (Perhaps one where Belinda dies? Who knows, ANet like killing off characters) which you then receive the sword as a momentum?
But as some of Kasmeer’s gear was available only through the store (If I recall, correct me otherwise), I would suspect Belinda’s is likely to be as well.
…As long as special content like jumping is strictly optional. Like jumping puzzles (JP)…
It still is optional.
The story instances required to complete this episode have marginally any jumping puzzles, and in the worst of it, Kasmeer will often just portal you to the otherside.
With regard to the achievements, they are as optional as the Jumping Puzzle achievements you listed above, and further, these achievements are now permanents and won’t disappear in 2 weeks’ time, so you can come back at any time you like and have another go. There are still numerous methods of AP acquisition within the game, and in fact, this episode’s achievements don’t reward a very large amount anyway (Note: Zephyr’s Ascent – one of the jumping puzzles – rewards 1 point).
I assume this is the “Disturbance in Brisban Wildlands” instance? Well, what should occur once they are done talking is that the inquest attack the area, over to the eastern side of the fort in 2 different locations. Did you check to see if there was any green circle on the mini-map to the east of the fort?
If not, and you still can’t complete it, do submit a bug report.
Edit: After re-reading your post and realizing I answered the wrong part;
Once the robots are defeated, there should be some talking (Which you seem to have had), and then that should be the end of the instance. So it should have completed, but do make sure you talk to the Sergeant NPC, as that is whom you talk to in order to end the instance. That is likely the problem.

Many thanks! The “Opportune Moment” achievement was bugging me since its release.
that’s definitely not a normal vine and its hidden so Anet doesnt want us to see it
I wouldn’t exactly call “directly underneath the first waypoint” as something being ‘hidden’.
It is an intriguing concept art, not one to my personal taste, but that doesn’t mean I would hate it. As it is only a loading screen, I personally find it acceptable.
If they had an event where the image was broken into a 1,000 piece puzzle and players had to solve it, then I would likely dislike it. But as a loading screen? It seems fine.
The only complaint I had about the number of achievement points would be one of the ones you highlighted; the Zephyr’s ascent jumping puzzle and the haystack one following it were both worth 1 point. The most stressful of the new achievements gave the lowest amount of points for completion, which doesn’t make much sense to me.
ANet should swap the point scores, and set saving all of the seraph workers (“No one left behind”) to 1 point, and the “Zephyr’s Ascent” to 5, at the least. I really didn’t understand why they did that. Ensuring those seraph workers didn’t die was a complete breeze for the majority I am sure.
Twas exactly what I was suspecting, especially as the Master of Peace wandered off without telling anyone where or what he was going. In fact, why was he in that cavern in the first place?
I spent a total of 1 hour before being able to complete it, and yes, there are some jumps in it that are purely luck, but at least it is a permanent addition and won’t disappear in 2 weeks’ time, so we have forever to complete it.
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
So, you can’t do the story missions because you didn’t look to see if there were any puzzles in them to begin with? Do you see the sense in that?
You do know that that is one of the achievements for the story journal of that instance? That you will unlock access to once completing this episode’s story?
Remember, they just added the achievement category of “Regions”, highly suggesting, but not confirming, there will be more regions introduced, at least in that category, in the future.
The introduction of “Region” achievements makes me think the region will be permanent, and it also gives the possibility of other “regions” being introduced in the future.
I agree. Spoilers The story instance within Scarlet’s old room was one of the most interesting story instances I’ve personally experienced yet.
That is an epic design. Much more fearsome than Zhaitan. Period.
playing in magnuum with new monsters, new map, new areas to explore, and basically new legendaries to mess with.
Don’t want to spoil your day, but none of those new things have been confirmed yet. It was all speculation.
As far as what you said about china Zalladi, aren’t they on a completely different version on the game so what level they may NA/EU GW2 area won’t have any effect on China’s game.
That’s what I thought at first as well, but this recent “Festival of the Four Winds” update was aimed at levels 15/16, whereas the Labyrinthine Cliffs was previously 80 in the “Bazaar of the Four Winds”. ANet’s reason for putting it at level 15/16 was so that Chinese players could experience the content.
Of course, the content was delivered at level 15/16 on both the NA/EU and China servers, so they might not be on different versions, at least update-wise.
We will obviously find out when the next update arrives in a couple of days.
(Apologies if this comment is confusing, I am terrible at general writing)
Well, since there was the recent China release, it’s tough to say. One would expect it would be level 80, as per the previous releases, but since a large majority of China’s player base might not be level 80 yet, ANet may take a wiser option and deliver the content at a lower level range, perhaps 60? That is the approach they took with May’s “Festival of the Four Winds”.
This is speculation of course.
