Why did you remove all karma gains from boosters without warning players that save him for a better opportunity to use them. i’m saving my enchanted booster to use in EOTM to lvl and get more rewards and now karma is gone and from the historic of Anet with players its gone forever.
There is an ever expandinly-large-esque thread on the same topic already open over here.
You can attempt to submit a support ticket through here (or in-game I think) and describe the situation in as much detail as possible, and provide screenshots if you can.
As you can get absolutely no benefit from the item, I would imagine the GM’s could refund the gems as long as they can see that you do have your bank tabs maxed out.
(On a side note, I really wish that the item would stop showing in the gem store once you have the maximum amount of tabs – I have nearly made the same mistake before).
Add an option where you can “flag up” and fight other players who are “flagged up”, it would make map completion actually fun!
There is PvP for that……….
And WvW which has map completion (although it doesn’t really count for anything anymore).
So no thanks.
Okay? Not entirely sure what the point of your post is?
Candy Corn Gobbler @ the wiki Probably not updated yet to reflect the patch.
I know this item was created to get rid of excess candy corn on the market, and I don’t have John Smith’s numbers, but the prices have hovered around the same level for months and months, and I can’t imagine the latest change is going to do a whole lot to help it. The change to durations of the new boosts have made this item even more of a pain in the kitten to use. For those of you that don’t have this item, it randomly either gives you a random boost from a list or transforms you into a halloween creature.
Now the issue with this item isn’t that it turns you into a creature or that it gives the new boosts, it is that it gives the new boosts with a much lower timer than before, so you get the new boost for 7 or 10 minutes and you still have the same cooldown between tries. So if you want to stack up an hour or two of boosts to run around in WvW with the 50% experience bonus, you’re going to be clicking for a lot longer and running into that internal cooldown between each time you’re allowed to try to have the gobbler eat candy corn.
I’m not proposing that it be any cheaper to get the boosts, or that they necessarily up the time of the new boosts on the gobbler, I’m sure they had good reason for the numbers vs. the candy corn cost, but please consider adjusting the ICD between uses or eliminating it altogether so it isn’t such a pain to use. This might also go with the hand health posts that have been popular lately. I think a lot of players that have this item have given up on using it because it is just such a kitten to use.
A thread was already open on this exact topic here.

will the fractal require more agony resist ?
No one knows except Anet for the moment.
Also, there is a large thread already open on the topic here.
The Human female wedding Attire is pretty bad, the other races are okay, and all the male outfits are generally good.

There is already a large thread on the topic here.
The only “free” way to move home server is to delete all of your current characters and re-start the client. Upon logging in, you will be given the option of selecting a new “home server” (although be warned, currently the server population listings have been changed and a few servers are currently “full” and can’t be joined).
Otherwise, it could be considered free to use gems to transfer characters, that is, if you convert gold that you collected in game into gems and use those gems to transfer. Of course, that would take a great deal of time to collect the gold, but you wouldn’t have to spend any real world money.
Although, with the megaserver system in place, you should be free to play with your friend in every form of content except WvW, which is the only game mode that changes depending on what server you are on.
What I find interesting is that I did participate in the beta, but did not receive an e-mail. I wonder how their e-mail list works?
I reckon it is quite likely, although it won’t be until some months after Heart of Thorns at most.
Still waiting for the butterfly wings that EU have and we(NA) DON’T. But yeah, I think I’ll buy that outfit…
Well, I am on EU servers and we don’t have them either.
It was not an annual event. And there is quite a difference between August 6th and May 20th in a calendar year.
With Elite Specializations, you aren’t “forced” to equip anything, simply, that specialization line is more suited to support the use of those new utility skills and weapon.
That isn’t to say the Elite Specializations can’t be used without the new weapon and skills – it certainly can – as most of the new specialization traits will affect the whole profession generally rather than a specific style of play.
??? coming soon & mastery on non-beta char?

Several beta players have encountered this, and it is an unintended bug that will likely be resolved before the next BWE.
On what settings? Today I tried playing on Lowest and got about 54-60 fps in Plains of Ashford. On Highest I get about 22-26
Those are with everything at maximum except “Render Sampling” and “Character Limit”, both of which are respectively set to “Native” and “Low” or “Lowest”.
Changing these two options to those values does significantly help with fps if you currently have them set to maximum.
Just in case you don’t know – have a go at using the LFG system to find more members for story modes:
Click “Y” and the second tab down on the left hand side should be “Looking For Group”. Find the dungeon you wish to play the story mode in and create an LFG message saying that story mode is what you want to complete. Other interested players should join your group relatively quickly.
Hope you manage to find some players.
3 on expansion release, then 3 more every couple of updates or so (or in increments Anet find manageable for creating the scavenger hunts) until we have a full set.
At least that is how I took it.
Do keep in mind that the vast majority of the player base are nowhere near reaching the 300% cap on base Magic Find; those who farmed essences to reach the cap are at their own fault for doing so rather than gathering essences through general play as was intended.
However, I see no harm in an increase for magic find, perhaps even make it a bottomless figure since it seems to affect so little at the moment (I can’t tell my own sarcasm there). And I agree that the purple luck essences should be craftable from the orange essences – I see no reason why they shouldn’t be, unless they have some sort of secret purpose.
I hadn’t heard that it was being changed to damage the break bar.
“With the new system, we can adjust how much of the bar is removed so that a skill that stuns the enemy for several seconds does much more than an ability that briefly dazes the target, and blindness can remove an appropriate amount of the bar instead of having its own special rules.” – Source
The blog post was rather vague on the subject; although, not once did it even specifically mention Heart of Thorns purchasers, so one could assume that the League’s will be available to all players regardless of whether they purchased the expansion or not.
Are you asking if blind is going away with Heart of Thorns? Well that is an easy question; no it is not.
It is simply moving to the same category as control conditions (which does make some sense as it prevents an enemy from landing their skills successfully), and it only seems right that it will help with the break bar as opposed to negating all damage output, which would be a little unbalanced come Heart of Thorns and the break bar.
With regard to “making CC nearly worthless” – you have used CC skills on world bosses in their current state, right?
Well at least you know they are going away in HoT …
We don’t know that 100% at the moment; yes new dailies are coming for fractals from the sources I linked above, but they didn’t state that they are replacing the current fractal-daily achievements in the daily rotation.
Though I do find it likely, I just wanted to clarify.
Also lol at considering an extra pristine relic being ‘more rewarding’. I don’t think I’ve ever spent a single one.
Well, with Heart of Thorns bringing a new assortment of items that can be purchased with Pristines, I think you might change your mind.

No one knows the date for the next BWE (except Anet).
As it is likely we will be getting the Revenant’s elite specialization announcement blog this week, I find it highly likely it will be available for the next BWE, or even another beta Revenant day before that. But that is solely my speculation.
While I agree that it is a challenging fight, there are some tactics around it.
It helps if you use a ranged weapon and continuously run around the boss, with the smaller spiders chasing after you. If you can figure out the boss’ pull attack animation, try your best to dodge just as he is about to use it.
Of course, you can always bring in another player to assist you, and I am sure there are plenty that are willing. You can use the LFG tool to help find some players that are willing to help.
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

It would make more since if they want to give old players; ones who registered a serial code before a certain date, something exclusive.
In case you missed it; veteran players who had purchased the game before January 23rd are given a free character slot when purchasing any edition of Heart of Thorns. So in that regard, there is some form of exclusivity, but as to whether that is worth anything is up to your opinion.
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

$50 is the price of the expansion, regardless of the fact that the core game is included. If the core game was not included, the standard expansion would still be priced at $50. It is how all of Anet’s expansions and future expansions will work.
This discussion has cropped up countless times since June.
We did sort of already have that. It was called Living World Season 1.
On a serious note, the “Watchwork Invasions” of Season 1 used to occasionally appear on a random map, which were effectively invasions of NPC’s swarming in random spawn locations around a map. After some time and certain conditions being met, a boss (Scarlet) would spawn, and the invasion would end upon its death.
It would be nice if something like that was re-implemented, although it might cause some frustration to newer players that would have their progress interrupted suddenly by large zergs invading their map.
He is possible to defeat. Yes it takes more luck than skill, but it is still possible. Dulfy’s guide was what helped me to get past him, and quite smoothly at that.
I doubt there will ever be changes as it would then devalue the titles and awards of those that had already acquired them. They partially did this with the return of the Queen’s Gauntlet and the faint red circles of Liadri now becoming massively obvious orange circles – and I recall seeing a few forum posts of people being annoyed that the achievements they worked hard for were now easier to do, although partially.
I have an 8GB RAM, GeForce 850M, Intel i-7 2.5GHz and Windows 7 and I average about:
- 45-60+ (max up to about 80) fps in general play
- 25-45fps in semi-intense battles such as most world bosses, some dungeons and crowded areas, as well as moderately-particle heavy maps such as Dry Top sandstorms
- 10 – 20fps in severely intense battles such as WvW zerg fights, some world bosses such as Frozen Maw, and the new Maguuma maps for the expansion (although those are not optimized yet)
Although, I must remind you that this is with Windows 7, I have no clue as to how it might be affected with Windows 10, but I recommend you have a skim through this thread for the Windows 10 discussion and how it affects Guild Wars 2.
I’m all for fractals being more rewarding to play, but have no interest in them personally, and would prefer they not displace other PvE daily options, like world bosses and map events.
It is possible that they will be changed with Heart of Thorns, as the “Fractal Mastery Track” will give access to “new dailies” for fractals, which could suggest that fractals might be given their own daily category. I’ll find the source on that.
Edit: Le Source:
“Fractal players of all skill levels will find new daily goals, new achievements, and a new legendary objective.
You’ll also find that the Fractals of the Mists now have their own tab in the Achievements panel. In this category, you’ll find the original fractal achievements along with a number of new ones that require significant group coordination or even require you to be playing at higher difficulty scales to complete. Additionally, we’ve simplified the current system of daily reward chests into a system of new daily fractal achievements that have been separated into three distinct difficulty ranges: 1–20, 21–50, and 51 and above. Completing these dailies will give players a chance at the fractal weapon skins, ascended equipment, infused rings, and more."
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
Is there an issue with them?
I find them preferable as they make fractals more rewarding to play which is a boost they really need.
All of your beta characters and progress that you reached for BWE1 will carry on into BWE2, so they won’t be re-copied by the sound of it:
“Progress earned by beta characters over the course of the weekend will be preserved between BWE1 and BWE2 so that you can continue testing where you left off.”
A year ago there was talk to a build system possibly being implemented, the original source Healix found here and Dulfy’s post on it here.
It would be very convenient if such a system were implemented, and Anet can make some money on it if they wish by having build templates 3 and upwards costing 400 gems or so.
Edit: Adjusted post as Healix found the source.
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
If it helps, you can target an enemy by using the “Tab” button on your keyboard, which will select the closest attackable target (although caution, this will also target passive enemies).
I believe you can also change the options so that when you use a damaging skill, it will instantly lock onto the nearest attackable enemy as well (though, that option might be turned on by default, I can’t remember).
From how I read it, it means you can see their traits or trait lines, not equipment. But I may be wrong.
I personally hope it doesn’t happen though, for the reasons in this thread.
There is the option to buy physical copies and online serial codes from the official retailers in your area, the list of which can be found here.
Do note, that not every official retailer will distribute a physical cased copy of the expansion; most of them will only supply you with an online serial code.
Further, if you buy the standard edition of the expansion from anywhere and apply it to your account, you can then buy the deluxe upgrade with gems from the gem store at your leisure, and receive all of the benefits that it gives.
No one knows for a fact at the moment, so we will likely only get information once Heart of Thorns has launched.
From my own personal guess, I would think logging in even without access to Heart of Thorns would unlock the episode for you (which you can then play at a later date), but that is just my guess.
The thing is, a new race won’t add very much with regard to play options. Whereas a new profession is an entire new play style that brings several new options to the player.
I would expect implementing a new race will take a lot of resources for very little payoff (of course though, that is my opinion, and I would be happy to see a new race).
You only get the rewards for each story instance once per character (excluding ascended trinkets, you only get one of each of those per account through the story instances).
Skimming through the Heart of Thorns sub-forum, it must be tough for developers to consolidate all of the feedback on the numerous areas they wanted us to test for BWE1. So I would just like to quickly mention a very simple approach that can be taken with the next beta weekend event to help consolidate the players’ responses/opinions/feedback.
Simply, have several main forum threads/topics within the Heart of Thorns sub-forum dedicated to the feedback of each aspect they want us to test.
Have one that asks for feedback and responses to the Day/night cycle, have another discussing masteries and whether or not the progression is balanced. Have one on the Revenant, and one for elite specializations, and so on.
With that, everyone can post their opinions to a specific thread that a developer can then read through, pick out the common points, and address them (perhaps even updating the first post to detail common opinions of players and their comments on how to address them). This would not only help developers, but it would help players in communicating feedback through the forums.
Players will still be able to create their own threads detailing their BWE experience if they wish.
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
A suggestion that has floated around on these forums several times, and one I would love to see implemented. Though, we have seen no changes to the system in the months that it has been in place, so it is unfortunate to say that it won’t likely be coming any time soon.
But a large drop in players on somthing small like raptr is still a drop in players, even if more are being funneled in elseware
Not necessarily.
There is the view that many are missing that players are simply stopping using Raptr because it is not satisfactory to them, and they are in no way leaving the game, simply ceasing to use Raptr.
As far as I know, for the Challenge Motes to appear, you must have first completed the episode and then replay that episode on the same character that has the episode completed (or any character that has completed the episode) – it is not an account-wide unlock for the motes to appear.
They will be small will-o-wisps that are either at the start of the instance, or just before the section that turns into the challenge mode.
If you are having trouble finding the mote’s, I recommend looking over Dulfy’s website for some guides.
- Completely different lighting. A slightly gloomier map doesn’t equate night vs day. It needs to be full on night. Ever been in a jungle at night? Visibility is non existent. Gameplay would dictate it would have to have some visibility, but not the same as daytime.
- ambient sounds. I’d cut the music and concentrate on the “sounds of the jungle”. screams, shrieks, natural calls and roars, the wind, the fires, the creaking ships etc
- access to areas only at night or day. Perhaps vines move and open new paths or updrafts only available at night
- constant attacks from Mordrem – this is already in place, so we can tick that one off
I would be very happy if they made these changes. From the few minutes I had of travelling around during the night mode, it just didn’t feel threatening.
If they made it darker, cut or lowered the music and heightened the ambience, it might just invoke fear and provide that desire to survive.
Because everyone uses Raptr.
Currently, the night time is an “early iteration” of the final product for what the night scenario will be.
It is likely that when we play the full iteration of night time, it will be darker, more flushed and polished.
Here is Rubi’s quote:
“That’s true. Colin talked about that on Friday’s PoI. This isn’t a fully functional version of night–it’s an early iteration.”
Would be good to look at that list…
Well, here is what I can decipher from here:
I think everyone will get this regardless of whether you purchase the expansion:
- Stronghold (But not all of the champions related to Stronghold)
- The new WvW Desert Borderland
- (Possibly) Access to roam around the Maguuma landscape (Although I think this might be cut off by a story instance that requires the expansion)
- Fractal Changes (Some might be blocked behind purchasing)
There are likely others, so someone feel free to correct me.
So if XP is used to buy masteries in HoT, does that mean that all the old players who have a stack of 100 tomes sitting around will simply instantly be maxed out?
I haven’t read anywhere that tomes will be giving masteries as opposed to Spirit Shards upon use. So I doubt it.
The way it is working in the beta is that you choose a mastery track to level, and then all the experience you earn goes to levelling that mastery track. Once enough is accrued, you earn that mastery. I don’t think tomes will be able to help accrue that type of experience for masteries to prevent people from instantly completing every mastery. Instead, it will likely remain as it is, in that using a tome will grant a Spirit Shard at 80.
You won’t have access to Elite Specializations unless you have purchased the expansion. You will, however, get access to Stronghold and the new WvW Borderlands map (and other stuff I will edit if I find a list).
