I adjust GW2 to fit half of the screen regularly as well.
You should still be able to click and drag the side of the window to re-size it to your liking; I just tested it and I am still able to do that. Try dragging from the corners of the window if the sides don’t work.
If you can’t do that, attempt to drag the entire window itself by clicking and dragging the top of the window, just to move it a little in case it was somehow stuck. Then try dragging from the side or corners of it again.
Alternatively, you can try using the options in-game; by going to Options → Graphic Options → Display: Resolution: → Adjust that to see if you can change the size.
Why?
Expansions to all holding capacities are already there and available for people to buy. And technically, you can purchase these upgrades with the Ultimate Edition’s 4,000 gems (or simply for free using in-game gold:gems conversion). Further, it is an income-source for ArenaNet, I doubt they would do something that would detriment that.
If you meant that the limit should be increased on these upgrades (so that we could have up to 180 item slots as opposed to 160) then I would agree to that to some degree.
The Elite Specialization system is sort of Anet’s way of adding a secondary profession to each existing profession.
Foremost, I reckon you are simply not as experienced in playing the other professions, as you stated that Ranger is your main. So the more you play the other professions, the more you will be able to use all of their mechanics to your advantage and experiment with other builds.
As for finding some other builds and tips, I recommend you read or even post a question to the profession forum that you are most interested in learning.
1) The reason you only got 4 power from the sigil is because you have been down-scaled in a level 6 area. The full 250 power from 25 stacks is only for level 80 areas, and will down-scale in increments as you progress to lower levels. This works similarly to the profession traits that increase one stat when you are in combat, which also scales depending on level scale.
2) I don’t quite understand your math in the second part; +5 power increase against other players adds up to +250 power at 25 stacks?
3) Adding on to #2, I think you misread the information; you will gain 5 stacks of bloodlust (or whichever buff) from player kills, not an extra 5 power. Here is the blog statement on that:
“The functionality of each sigil has changed so that killing a player is worth five stacks of a sigil in any game mode, while killing a monster only grants one stack.” – Source

Currently, there has been no statement from the developers that retracts from their original post that nothing is being reset.
So until a developer posts otherwise, nothing will be reset with BWE2, including beta banks.
I would hug you, if only there were an emote for it.
If you had suggested this some months ago, I would not have agreed to a token system. However, with the recent wallet changes that allow for new currencies to be added easily, I don’t see the trouble in adding a new currency that will allow players over time to finally get the item they are looking for.
Of course, if too many new currencies are added, it will make the game feel a little more grindy no matter how it is implemented.
As far as I know, there is no physical CD version of Heart of Thorns; all of the physical editions I have looked over have only contained a pamphlet and a serial code.
And you are correct about your last question; you will be able to download and install the client from this official GW2 website even long after the game is no longer receiving development for new content. This is the main reason that there is a lack of physical CD’s for Heart of Thorns, but you might be able to find a CD for the core game (I don’t know for sure, and it would still need a lot of updating).
[Suggestion] Give exp in Living World story
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Zalladi.4652
Well, Season 2 (and presumably future story “episodes”) will give one mastery point after completion (awarded retroactively). So in a way the suggestions is already there.
Otherwise, the main reason they likely don’t give experience is due to the potential for players to farm the mobs within the instances, but I don’t see how that is any different from farming in the Tyrian world.
As they don’t stack together, on would assume they don’t count for the Gift of Color when combining them with regular ones. Mainly as you won’t be able to put 5 items in the mystic forge by combining regular unidentified dyes and account-bound ones together.
It will likely work the same as the current unidentified dyes; you will have a chance at finding a dye that you already have unlocked.
I can’t say this for fact though, as I can’t log in to test at the moment.
There are mastery points being added for the core game as well (many of which will be retroactively awarded to players), and tracks that require xp grind in the core game. The central tyrian lines, I think is what they are calling them. So it’s not just the new maps.
(Yes I’m aware you mentioned that in your previous paragraph, but you didn’t in your tldr, which you might want to do)
True, though, the only ones they mentioned were the retroactive ones for Season 2, of which there were 8 episodes. I am only speculating here, but that might only equate to 8 mastery points, and the Precursor Crafting Mastery Line would require 10 points to be fully completed (in beta, so possible to be changed).
With that said, there are probably going to be other retroactive points added in other places, so in that case you are correct, and the OP would not even need to step place in the new regions in order to complete the Precursor Crafting if they wish.
Currently, we don’t actually have any confirmation on that topic. However, there are many assumptions that can be made:
The new system is included as a mastery line, and masteries are tied to Heart of Thorns with most mastery points being found in the new maps.
But in order to unlock the new precursor crafting, you must first complete the “Legendary Precursor Crafting Mastery”, which is within the “Pact Tyria Masteries” line. This suggests that you will need to complete things within Tyria, not the Maguuma Wastes, in order to gain mastery xp for that mastery line.
tl;dr: You will need to earn mastery points which can be from the new expansion maps or retroactive rewards from previous content, and then you will need to complete events in Tyria in order to level up the Precursor Crafting Mastery.
(Edit: Adjusted tl;dr as per Lanfear’s post)
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
If it was another player that told you that, then they were just trolling you by the sound of it.
I have never heard of anyone else being “blacklisted”, the only thing that can happen is an account ban. Or maybe they just put you on their block list, which won’t affect you at all.
This seems to be a severe issue that has only cropped up in the last few days or so, as there were two threads on the topic that opened up here and here that found quite a number of people experiencing disconnects.
For some though, this has been a problem since the game’s release, and there are some measures you can take that might help to reduce the amount of disconnects you experience. You might want to read the developer response on this page, or try reducing some of you graphics options and see if that helps.
Otherwise, we will just have to wait until Anet address the issue themselves.
well they used to tell us will have legendary armor… where is it now???
Um, no they didn’t. There was this statement they made on legendary armor 2 years ago:
ColinJohansonYou won’t see legendary armor any time soon, you will see Ascended Armor in 2013 for sure though, yes.
(Source)
Or perhaps you mean this ambiguous quote?
BlogOn top of this, you’ll also see new legendary weapons and new types of legendary gear in 2013.
(Source)
The fact is, they never did “tell us we will have legendary armor”, and they were very specific about it.
HOT is also base on GW2 right? whats different? new map? new enemy? etc. this all happen on CoD and AC. and dont forgot HOT only about 20% ~30% size of CoD and AC.. is only and expansion.
I don’t usually say things like this, but lol.
I find it interesting that this was suggested a week ago and it went nowhere.
Yet this thread suddenly boomed.
GuildWars2In case you missed it on our livestream from #gamescom2015 this morning: #GW2HoT will be launching in 2015. ~RB2
it would be more nicer if the Minis was keep in towns only . and not let out side of towns ever again .
That would cause more player outrage than the current situation of minis revealing stealthed players. It is not fair to limit the possibilities of one game mechanic when the issue they were hoping to solve could be avoided in the first place.
I just bought HoT a few minutes ago. I’m worried that I might not get the gems at all. I will just log out and wait for awhile, maybe watch some anime or something to keep my mind off the stress ;(
If you don’t receive your gems after 72 hours (and you definitely purchased the Ultimate edition), I recommend you contact support to receive your gems.
Considering there hasn’t been a traditional gem store update since June (unless you count the booster change), I doubt there will be anything new added to the store come tomorrow.
With that said, they could surprise us.
all i need to do is what this video does?
Correct; though, it is a lot harder than that video makes it to be, so make sure you have plenty of time to go through it, and a mesmer with the “portal entre” skill equipped would help.
but there’s another chest anyways? where is it?
The other chest is at the end of the latest jumping puzzle “Troll’s Revenge” in Lion’s Arch. It requires 4 keys which you attain as you traverse the puzzle, which then combine into a mega-key (not that name, I am exaggerating) which opens the final chest.
zalladi, there’s a chest, at NORTHWESTERN part, in a CAVE you go IN, and they you climb, pass a BRIDGE, and theres a CHEST on the top of it, with a little guy carrying a bag on his back!
Then yes, that is the Tri-key chest. You can no longer obtain the keys to open that.
Not a bad idea, and the functionality is nearly there as Rangers can do the opposite with their pets; they can hide their pets but they will instantly re-appear as soon as combat is triggered.
However, you could simply deactivate your pet whenever you are in WvW or PvP, as that is the only place that will really require minipets to be hidden for stealth (unless there are some sort of player run “hide and seek” events). And then you can activate it for the rest of the game.
so, the jumping puzzle keys are for what?
Now I am getting confused; OP, are you talking about the Tri-key chest in the cave, or the Grand Chest outside up on a ledge?
It would take just as long to have the map simply fade back to your character – it is the quick camera change from bird’s eye view to character eye-view that causes the frame issues, and removing the camera pan won’t change that.
OP there is a new jump puzzle in lions arch that award key fragments you need 4 of them I think never completed said puzzle myself.
That is the jumping puzzle chest; the OP is talking about the tri-key chest in Hooligan’s Route in North-Western Lion’s Arch.
so if i go to kessex hills to farm them it’s useless?
I think that was my mistake in my original post (I quickly removed the edit) as I don’t think it is possible to obtain the key at all anymore.
It is simply to help older players that still had the keys finally be able to use them (and, of course, look cosmetically suiting for skritts).

as you posted the final version of the precursor will be tradable but you can only acquire it once by this method with will (hopefully not impact the market to much ^^) – ’
I believe that the precursors that will be acquired through the Heart of Thorns Scavenger Hunts will be account-bound, and won’t be tradeable (as it would affect the market as you mentioned). I’ll find the quote on that and edit it here.
Edit: Hmm, turns out the only official quote I could find was this:
“This crafting system is an account-based activity…” (Source) which could indicate both speculations of it being account bound or tradeable (although I do remember reading it being account-bound somewhere…).
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
Those can only be opened by the tricolor key chest earned from Season 1 of the Living World.
It was simply to allow those whom still had the keys to finally be able to use them and open the chest if they missed it.
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
The Vision Crystal requires an Augur’s Stone for 20 spirit shards from Miyani at the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch, and then 3 other ingredients which can be easily obtained throughout the game.
For these 3 ingredients, I recommend you do events in the Silverwastes for a little while, as you will get all 3 from there (mainly from champion bags and chests, so perhaps a chest farm map is best). Each Brick requires 100 dust/fragments/ores, which means 500 of each (which sounds like a lot, but it does flow in quickly).
You will also get Obsidian Shards from a Silverwastes chest farm, which helps in turning the ingredients into bricks.
To find a chest farm map, it is easiest to open up the “Looking For Group” panel in “Open World Content”, and looking for someone posting a “chest farm” or the abbreviated “sw cf”.
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
It has been a big problem for me, but then again, I am on holiday at the moment and have terrible internet.
When I am on my own internet, I usually disconnect during large events.
That one can’t ever be entirely “completed”.
It works similarly to the “Agent of Entropy” Tradesman achievement which will cap out on the number of points you can acquire, but will still keep on counting how many times you salvage even after you can’t earn anything further from it.
Better late than never, yeah?
Just curious as to why you suddenly revived a 2 year old thread?
The only consumable you can find in the world that will light up your surroundings is the Effigy Fragment (and a Krytan Torch if you were active during Season 1). However, this is a consumable weapon bundle and will replace your current weapon skills.
I don’t believe there is a consumable that will add lightning effects to your existing skills. Although, some Legendary weapons add some lighting effects around the weapon, but not to the skills themselves, such as Meteorlogicus.

1.) PVP Leagues – To get the Legendary Backpack do you actually need to be on the Legendary League?
Regarding the first question, there’s already the interview from Curse and also the post from ArenaNet. what is not clear is that on the Curse Interview they say you need to reach the Legendary Division in order to star work on the Legendary version of the Back Pack(what makes sense in some degree) but that is not mentioned on Guildwars 2 post, hence my question.
1) From the information we have read so far, it doesn’t sound like we need to reach the Legendary League:
“Earn league tokens to spend on PvP exclusive items like the back item Wings of Glory. Once you hit the Legendary division you will be able to work towards the legendary version of the backpiece.” – Source
That to me sounds like once you complete any tier of League, you will receive “League Tokens”, which if you gather enough of, you will be able to trade it for the first part of the backpiece (which can possibly then be upgraded through scavenger hunt achievements).
It is possible that there are exclusive parts of the item that will require a Legendary League status, but that depends on whether or not it is moderately simple for most players to reach that League tier; but from what I can imagine, it shouldn’t be mandatory (but that is just my speculation).
Really, there is not really any way to report something like that (unless they were being hostile or harassing).
You could put it in a similar category to guilds that claim world boss maps even if people had been organizing it prior to the guild jumping in – not much we can do about it I’m afraid as it isn’t breaking any Anet rule.
In a strange sort of way, tonics could be considered a form of “trading card” in this game; you can trade (most of) them, battle with them and get rewards (well, achievements) for doing so.
We don’t yet know what the “challenging group content” coming with Heart of Thorns is (until the end of August) and it is possible that this could include some form of dungeons or raids, or something completely different and original.
??
It’s showing your display name as Zalladi.4652, both in that post and the second post of the thread.
I was quoting from a post a month ago by the OP explaining why his name is a serial code.
Why the heck is op name a serial code? Or is it a massive glitch that came up for me
It’s not a glitch, that is his name. He explains why it is like that from his quote here:
“Yeah… lets talk about display names. I had mine fixed via ticket before I quit the game shortly after launch. I’ve since come back and become addicted once more, but i’m not even bothering with my display name again because it reverted to my old key again (not my gw2 cdkey dont worry). My guildies have begun lovingly referring to me as “cdkey” or “serialguy”” – CD673141-975B-42E9-8500-F0FEFF861A7D
(Edit: Clarified that it is a quote, and not my words)

Untrue. Rangers are in a great position since september 2014 but people are just stupid and continue to hate the profession just because from time to time they see a bad Ranger.
Which is why I said they were in a bit of a pickle.
That_Shaman datamined a Birthday Finisher, but we don’t know for certain if that is one of the 3-year presents, as datamining is not 100% true.
Edit: Fixed link as per BrotherBelial’s post.

It should hopefully not be too much to ask for access to more personal waypoints, especially coloured variations of them for us to place at our leisure. ArenaNet have been quite communicative with adding QoL features that have been suggested, and this would be another welcome one.
Dx12 is out and most cards support it. I read game update is not happening. but how true that is? or do arenanet have plans for it or to update the Graphic engines? I mean the game looks great and is very immersive I can imagine just a little more of modern effects
Have a skim through this thread (well, I use ‘skim’ in the literal sense – it is over 500 posts long).
There has been discussion on whether or not ArenaNet is upgrading to higher DirectX’s since the game’s release. I don’t think the cost-benefit analysis merits an update to the graphics engine, and thus I doubt there will be any resources put into updating it.
Edit: Added quote
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
As far as I can assume, you are correct – the banks won’t be updated until our beta characters are wiped again (which we know won’t be happening for the next BWE).
So until a developer states otherwise, it looks like the beta banks won’t be updating for BWE2.
(Side note: I think you can edit the thread title by editing your main post? I could be wrong)
There is nothing stopping you from saving up $100 over time. Instead of buying the standard edition, save that $50 until you have enough to save a further $50 and buy the Ultimate.
I reckon the expansion won’t be coming for at least another 2 months.
As a side note, you technically can upgrade to the Deluxe with money; by purchasing gems with real money and using those to upgrade through the gem store.
Thanks.
Which skins are faction based from the personal story.
You already join this faction in the character creation choices?
The skins tied to the personal story are the one’s from joining the Vigil, the ones from joining the Order of Whispers, and from joining the Priory.
You don’t join the factions through the character creation screen, but rather by playing through the personal story. Eventually you will reach a point where you will have to join one of those three factions, and you will gain access to that faction’s armour and weapon vendors afterwards.
This won’t lock you out of acquiring the other two faction’s armour and weapons, but I think you would have to create a new character and get them through the personal story up to the point where they will also join a faction, and then put them into a different one.
