Can you explain the bug in detail? And if you truly think it is bugged, do submit a /bug report in-game.
Do remember that the latest update changed it to a trap rather than an actual spring, so remember that it now must be triggered:
“Healing Spring: This skill is now a trap skill and is triggered by allied players entering it.”
Looks to me like a snowflake passing across your screen as you took the picture?
No. that was long way away. Just like in the image, it was high in the sky above the moon. In fact, in my live gallery, i can zoom right in and it actually looked like the sun covered by mist or thin cloud, but it didn’t make sense for sun to be there at night.
Then perhaps it is this?
If you bought the game through the official site, then you should have received the serial key via the e-mail that you used for your account. So do check faaaaaaaaar back in your inbox (unless you regularly delete e-mails) in case it is there.
Otherwise, like Pax said, write a support ticket and give as much information as you can.
For what reason?
Because:
a) gw2 could use more annual special events
b) waiting for hot for over one year gets boring, got boring a few months after announcement
c) wintersday is already designed, so I imagine starting it now wouldnt tax anet’s ressources too much
d) I could use some cooling here, with over 30°C outside
a) True, but why not something summer-themed (or Dragon Bash which was closer to now than Wintersday) as opposed to winter-themed?
b) An inevitable wait with any expansion for any MMO, although I am inclined to agree that there should be some form of small content update to keep players satisfied until its release. The content drought period is typical of almost every other MMO preceding an expansion, but Anet have built an expectation in their playerbase that there will be new content regularly, making this drought even more punishing.
c) Debatable; they have already stated that they couldn’t simply push a button to bring back SAB as that particular content was built with with different GW2 physics in mind that have changed since. I expect it is similar with Wintersday, albeit not as difficult to alter.
d) See attachment.

You are not the first to suggest this, nor will you be the last. All the reasons are pretty much summed up in that thread.
You can no longer buy simply the core game from this official website. However, you can still purchase the core game if you wish from 3rd party sellers (possibly Gamestop, Amazon etc).
Here is an example of Amazon US where you can still buy the core game.
It should be noted that eventually, all copies of solely the base game will eventually be sold out and the only option will be the expansion and core game bundled as one. As to how long that will take, likely some time.
Actually, that’s not that bad. (Makes me want to finish my play through of GW1).
They didn’t specify any limit. Though, as there can be up to 4 teams (if I recall) in the arena at any time, one can assume that each team can be at 5, perhaps even 10 players or more.
For what reason?
Any class can be viable for any dungeon in the vast majority of cases. However, it is unfortunately more often than not that some players will be less inclined to accept one or two professions, which are commonly the necromancer and ranger (though, that doesn’t mean those two professions will never be allowed to run dungeons; I run dungeons on my ranger regularly).
As for WvW, any class is perfectly acceptable. If you want a larger role in WvW though, Guardian’s have a lot more usage with their shouts and good AoE stability which is perfect for groups. Elementalist Meteor Shower is also a good one for destroying siege that is tucked away on walls.
So really, I recommend you play the class you are most interested in, as any class will be able to do all types of content. It will only be some of the players that may stop you in regard to dungeons, but you can always avoid those types of players. If you need any more information on the professions, you can read about some of them here.
And of course, welcome to Tyria!
Anet haven’t confirmed a return, but it will likely return with Wintersday 2015. Hopefully, it will then also become permanently obtainable from then onwards, so one can hope.
Warhorn is useless (unless they somehow made it main hand instead).
We can’t make claims like that until we have seen the blog and the livestream at the end of the week. So if, after the blog and livestream, the skills are mediocre, then yes we can call it useless.
It just makes me frown a little whenever I see people making assumptions about things they haven’t seen the details for yet.
It would be nice if there were a vendor from which we can exchange items like these into the required time we prefer. Whenever I use a 24-hour booster, I feel too obligated to play a specific game type whilst that buff is active (so a WvW marathon etc) for that character, effectively making that character feel locked from any other game type until the buff ends and I have gotten the most out of it.
With the 1-hour boosters, as they are fairly easily attainable, I feel less obligated and can freely play what I want without the feeling of wasting the buff.
Then again, that is just me and my quirky sense of waste.
and that was alot of them.
Source?
In all seriousness though, elementalist is my 2nd main and I welcome the warhorn, knowing that it will bring 8 new weapon skills (I’m assuming ele’s will be able to swap attunement with it). Ultimately, perhaps 12 would have been too many if sword was the new weapon, especially as some classes, such as the mesmer shield, will only have two new weapon skills.
If it really troubles you, you could always immediately convert the 4,000 gems into gold and think as if you had looted a precursor and sold it.
Or alternatively, go on a mass shopping spree in the trading post or store; there’s always some things that you find you want (perhaps give some of your alt characters more bag slots if you don’t already have them maxed out).
Plus, you can look to the future; there will certainly be new items brought to the gem store, so you can save them for that. Or you can do a small community or guild event when you have a free raffle and gift the winner an item from the gem store.
It won’t ruin the game, but more likely allow you some more possibilities for using your gems in creative ways.
Another reason you can’t upgrade to the ultimate edition is because the only extra benefit it offers are gems at a discounted price. If an upgrade like that were available through the Black Lion Trading Post, would it make much sense to buy an upgrade that is giving you gems, by paying with gems?
The leader was removed because it was even more unfair for a group to get through to the end of a dungeon and have the leader disconnect (ultimately closing the dungeon) or leaving, or anything similar before the others had a chance to get their loot. Now, as long as one member of the party are in the dungeon, it will not close, regardless of anyone that leaves the group, thus getting rid of that nuisance.
There were many posts asking for changes to the party leader system.
It is unfortunate that that happened to you, but it isn’t really the fault of the system, just the fault of the players. The only thing you can do is block them for your own pleasure, or only join groups you know aren’t acting like low idiots.
Well, here goes, the collection of bizarre LFG’s I’ve seen over the years. I wonder how many attachments I am allowed?
It is to the class as a whole, not to a specific revenant legend.
But for what purpose?
If you’re talking about small guilds struggling with guild missions, the megaserver system already allows smaller guilds to get help from larger guilds, with a good chance they will bump into another guild if they run them on Sunday (or whatever other day is popular for guild missions).
Or if this is a proposal for an alternative method of transferring home servers, well, I just don’t see much use in something like this.
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, just that I think it won’t really have a purpose, especially with only the 3 (or a few more) largest guilds on each server getting the option.
Peter Fries will be smiling right now.
Yes please.
I was going to suggest something like this, as trying to figure out some of the exact names of an armour/weapon piece via the wardrobe name is not easy. Especially if it is a piece that is no longer available.
Tyrian jumping puzzles on console controls.
It has been suggested before, nothing came out of that. So chances are low, but I would like to see something like this added whenever the developers have a spare moment.
Edit: An alternative old reddit thread on the subject for your interests.
There was a fan made infographic for the 2nd year. Though, it would be nice to read up on some little facts about Tyria through an official 3rd year infographic. I am curious as to how many more dollies have been brutally murdered.
Any predictions on release date? I’m hoping 3rd year anniversary but I’m kinda losing faith. Grinding SW everyday…. yea. Been 7 months now since HoT announced. Bueller?..

TL;DR: I think you are confusing Insignia with Inscriptions. You are taking the sale price of an inscription and subtracting the crafting cost of an insignia. You can’t do that.
Ah yes, that post was supposed to be on crafting the ‘zojja berserker insignia’ rather than inscription. My mistake, editing the former post now.
my main professions is armorsmith and I have a tailor close to 400
If you like, you can do a similar crafting method then with ‘zojjas berserker inscription’ which is worth a little less at ~40 gold and is more costly to make, but doesn’t yield nearly as much as the insignia.
Edit: Confused inscription with insignia.

Transfers are already free.
Yes it is 1,800 gems, but that can be earned by transferring gold to gems, costing you nothing but the electric bill for playing the game. They only cost real world money if you choose to make them cost that, it is entirely optional. Similarly, there is no indication that there will be fully free world transfers in the future, aside from those on higher populated servers to move to lower populated servers preceding a WvW tournament.
So set yourself a new goal and start saving your gold.
I’ve talked with other players that have played this game since beta gw2 off and on (myself included) and I’ve never had more than 240g in my bank at one time. I’ve certainly never had more than 500 to 600g collectively over the past few years. I’m not a high school kid that can farm silverwastes 12 runs a day (I have to work and I like to enjoy things in real life, such as spending time with my wife). The only people that could afford the time to farm gold like that are younger people or people that prioritize games (as an adult) more than real life (neither of which am I).
I never said anything about having to farm the gold, just play as you usually do and save. Eventually, you will have the amount you need to transfer into gems.
In your case, I recommend a very easy method through crafting; every day, log in for 5 minutes to make a ‘spool of silk weaving thread’, and turn each one into a ‘bolt of damask’. After you have three of them, make a ‘zojjas berserker insignia’ and sell it for ~55-60 gold.
You will likely have to buy some silk materials to start you off, but once you get started, you will make an income on average of about 30 gold per inscription from this method.
Easy gold, quick gold, no farm.
Edit: Confused insignia with inscription.

Condi removal or use it against them.
Condition transfer sigils are your friend there.
None, aside from badges of honour for some flame rams to make superior rams every so often when there is a daily mystic forger. RNG is just too random for the risk.
Speaking of which… if you finish more than half of a boss fight and crash… you should keep a server slot to return to the map the fight was on for at least say 3 minutes… Spending an hour to get kicked at 50%, only to log back 30 seconds later to an empty zone sucks, and it’s becoming a repetitive issue.
I completely agree; I’ve found myself beginning to avoid long world bosses mainly as it is so common to randomly disconnect and lose my space in the map, even with a party. I had put a suggestion on these forums for two ways Anet might fix the issue, but that didn’t really go anywhere.
One reason behind it was possibly to encourage more active gameplay, rather than just activating the spirits and be done with them. As it currently stands, you’ll now be more active in choosing where to place them and use their skills. The devs did also improve them to compensate for the loss of mobility.
Similar reasoning goes behind the engineer turret changes that allowed them to be hit by critical hits and conditions (not entirely sure if that made it into the game as I haven’t played my engineer in ages, but it was at least an idea the devs were toying with that demonstrates the same thinking) which reduces engineer players in simply activating turrets and being done with them.
Don’t you see? They have broke the entire game right now!
And they don’t even give a kitten!
At first I thought you were being sarcastic, but I can’t decide after looking at your previous posts. Otherwise, if you aren’t, I don’t think hyperbole is the best way to get a point across; tequatl isn’t exactly the entire game. If you are being sarcastic, ignore me and my poor skill at recognizing sarcasm.
I’m not quite sure what you are trying to explain. Did you just mistakenly buy the wrong guild upgrade?
I don’t mean for HoT, I mean the next one or the next, so on.
I know, but I am curious as to who you heard that from? (Sorry for asking for so many sources, but you suddenly claimed so many things that my mind exploded in question).
It is entirely up to you.
The only current benefit to pre-purchasing is beta access, a character slot and a title. On release, you will be able to buy the standard edition and can then get the deluxe upgrades through the gem store (or from the deluxe edition on the web page) so that is nothing specifically for pre purchasing.
Of course, once the expansion is released, you will then have a plentiful amount of information that will help you make the decision as to whether or not you want to buy the expansion, or alternatively, you can watch someone streaming during a beta event and try to decide from that.
You do have some time to decide, as I am quite sure the expansion won’t drop for a couple more months or so, but that is purely my speculation.
Again, likewise to your Tengu thread, can you provide the source? It is almost certainly fake as we know for a fact that no new races are coming with HoT.
Edit: A further question to one of your previous posts, where did you hear this:
“Though it has been confirmed in future xpacs playable races will take the spot of new professions”
(edited by Zalladi.4652)
Any chance you could provide the sources to where you found these?
any idea what causes this in the first place?
I have heard many players DC’ing since the latest patch. Otherwise, I’ve personally found that DC’s are most likely to occur at large events where lots of skills and calculations are taking place which might be somehow cutting your connection when it can’t calculate fast enough.
Similarly, when running Teamspeak with Guild Wars 2, I found that both programs will disconnect at the same time as each other (even if I still have an internet connection to everything else, such as these forums), so it is possible Teamspeak could be irritating the connection, although I doubt it.
Although I don’t know this as fact, I probably sound like an idiot from the point of view of someone who is experienced with connection issues.
Increased range of view would be greatly appreciated, as long as it is toggle’able perhaps with a slider in the settings so that those without beefy PC’s are able to continue playing with the range of view as it currently is – just to get rid of the risk of increased fps issues it might cause some players.
Well, Gem gift cards exist for this very reason. It does also then pose a further risk if an account is hacked and the hacker can then also steal the gems as well as some gold and other items.
See this thread for a discussion already on the topic.
From that, Inculpatas cedo has a perfect explanation for the reason:
“I think I’d rather the Devs not take time out to develop something that would likely only entertain players the same amount of time it would push back the release of Heart of Thorns, leaving us exactly where we started.”
That’s a pretty BS answer… activating another tournament or reactivating the SAB takes the push of a button, they’re not being asked to make new content. Wouldn’t take up any dev resources at all.
Very incorrect.
Not only from other posts in this thread that have explained why, but the way those events work would break the game if suddenly re-implemented. Some development time would still be required for a WvW tournament, regardless of whether it is a lot or a little.

Whatever you heard was codswallop.
Aggro is a very difficult mechanic to explain in regard to GW2, but I don’t think there is any stat that contributes to how it works. It would appear that aggro usually goes to the first person to engage the mob, at least from the things I have experienced, but even then it is not always definite. It is too flexible a mechanic in GW2, so I really can’t suggest anything further.
I manage an average of 60fps in general gameplay from a Geforce 950M and quad core i7 laptop with only 8gb of RAM, only every going down to 12-15fps in those extreme world boss fights such as the Shaman or heavy WvW fights, which is still very playable.
So I would think you’re specs should merit similar results to mine, although I am no tech expert so don’t rely solely on my comment – hopefully others will post their experiences.
I don’t see the harm in a free trial, although since it is a buy to play game, it is significantly more affordable than a subscription MMO which is one of the main reasons subscription MMOs often have a free trial or are partially free to play up to a point.
Otherwise, anything that helps players to decide whether or not they want to buy the game is a plus from me.
Edit: Oh silly me, I forgot about the potential for gold spammers to breed like rabbits with this.
